THE PULSE (1:03 PM)
Dickie V on The Pulse! He was the first guest on the first show .. exactly one year ago today! Can you believe it's been a year?
victor alexandria,la
this is what it,s all about baby. the final four should be fun.
CJ (Flint)
Great, baseball is back. Call me when october comes around.
Sandeep Saratoga, CA
Do you think Luc Richard Mbah a Moute can shutdown Joakim Noah, and why isn't anyone talking about this diaper dandy?
Joe D (Queens, NY)
Whats the topic for now?
victor alexandria,la
dick who do you think has a sdvantage?
Zach (Montezuma,IA)
Could LSU be the next 2004 Uconn?
THE PULSE (1:04 PM)
Dickie V is talkin' Final Four! Keep those comments coming!
Taylor (Norfolk,Ne)
do u think the guards of ucla or the big men of lsu will prevail in their matchup
victor alexandria,la
do you see an all sec final?
Dari Nowkhah (1:04 PM)
Good Saturday everybody!! Happy Anniversary... 1 year of THE PULSE!!
jacob (corpus christi tx)
Jai Lewis would be a great tight end?????
Dan..Erlangen,Germany
Will it be a George Mason vs. LSU Final??I think so!!!
Mike - Panama, Rep of Panama
I'm retired in Panama, have a bunch of money and a beautiful wife. All you do is watch basketball and talk. Want to trade?
CJ (Flint)
Hey Dickie V, what happen to all your diaper dandies?
Michael (Tampa, FL)
George Mason might be Cinderella but Florida is going all the way! GO GATORS
Dennis (Pittsburgh)
I'm more excited for MLB season rather than the Final Four. Am I the only one?
Jake (manchester, OH)
Which guy is George Mason?????!?!??!?!
josh, waunakee, wi
i was just wondering how far you think that the milwaukee bucks will go in the playoffs, if they get there
Sandeep Saratoga, CA
Do you think that Luc Richard Mbah a Moute can shut down Joakim Noah, and why isn't anyone talking about this diaper dandy?
Blake (Bayou Gauche, LA)
LSU LSU LSU YEAH BABY!!!!!!!
Dayne (Dublin,Ga)
The 1st anniversary of the Pulse on April's Fools Day. Rather symbolic dont you think!
bryan (wisconsin)
is everybody ready to buy g. mason yet??
ogechi (houston,tx)
in a year where there are so many player deserving the mvp, why not have co-mvp's. the nfl does it. why not the nba?
LEE RICHMOND VA
IF THE LAKERS CAN MOVE UP TO THE #6 SPOT IN PLAYOFF STANDINGS, CAN THEY GO DEEP INTO THE PLAYOFFS
Alex (Washington, DC
Given the recent rash of early defectors from Florida, what do you think Billy Donovan's chances are of holding onto the class of 2008 until graduation? Would a national championship this year affect how long some of these kids will stay? (Noah, Horford, Brewer and Co.)
jacob (corpus christi tx)
big baby would heip the saints o-line
Dayne (Dublin,Ga)
Tyrus Thomas of LSU will be the MVP of the Tourney, he's awsome
Steve (Ann Arbor MI)
good one jake!
Jerry (elmont)
chad jackson would you like to come to philly
cody (jaskfj)
who do you think is going to win the final four
Zach (Montezuma,IA)
Sorry, I didn't bring any gifts for the 1-year anniversary...
Brock (Louisiana)
Go LSU
Taylor Bessmer (Norfolk,NE)
can anyone match up with kobe seeing what he has done this year i think he should be the unanimous mvp
Dari Nowkhah (1:07 PM)
Zach, your viewership is your gift!!
Dieter (Gig Harbor, WA)
If George Mason wins it all, should it be considered as one of the greatest cinderella stories in all of sports EVER?
jeff (cedarville, OH)
The Gators will beat GM 80-64
Y-ditty (Riverside, CA)
How serious is Ryan Hollins' injury and how will it effect UCLA's chances?
Steve Bunin (1:08 PM)
Y-Ditty - not serious at all. he'll be in the lineup tonight and won't have a problem. Mbah a Moute is the X-factor in this one, though ...
Steve (Ann Arbor MI)
If George Mason wins it all, it will be the greatest sports story in history... better than any record, better than any other upset.
Dayne (East Dublin,Ga)
I just finished taking my SAT but I made it home for the PULSE!
Steve Bunin (1:11 PM)
hey Pulsites - great work so far ... Dari and I thank you for a year of thru-the-roof ratings. Now, it's on to Year 2. Who's cutting down the nets Monday? I like UCLA over Florida in one of the lower-scoring games in recent title history, in the mid-60s...
jeff (cedarville, OH)
NO.. MLB season does not compare to the hype of this FINAL FOUR!!!
Ted (Boston,MA)
What's the celebration going to be for the pulse?
Steve Bunin (1:12 PM)
Ted -- We're heading out for celery and carrots afterwards. Dari is sort of a health nut. Thanks for watching! Who do you like in the Men's F.Four, and are you psyched or could you care less about the Women's F.Four, IN YOUR CITY?
Jordan (Hewlett,NY)
We all know George Mason is a cinderella team but can they continue there spectacular run?
Zach (Montezuma,IA)
I like LSU...they're the hungriest team of these 4...
Chris (Granby, CT)
Heck, if Geroge Mason wins tonight I'm half expecting it to be the greatest April Fools joke in history....
Steve Bunin (1:13 PM)
Zach - we just mentioned you on the air. Thanks for watching all year, or today anyway. How's Cael Sanderson gonna work out? That was weird...
josh (pa)
Floida will win the champ. over LSU
Scott (NY)
MLB compared to the Final 4? R u serious?
CJ (Flint)
Its not opening day for baseball everyone looks forward to, its the closing playoffs in october. Baseball is way to long........................
Nelle (Boston,MA)
I don't think the average sports fan wants the title game to be lsu-florida.
Matt (Mobile, AL)
Not sure about GMU winning being the greatest sports story ever, but I definitely think it'd be the best since the 1980 Olympic hockey team.
andrew (auburn wa)
ucla ucla ucla all the way baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brian (Baton Rouge (in Indy))
DV: The "experts" have been wrong on LSU all year. Hometown heart will be the X factor.
Ted (Boston,MA)
I think LSU will win, because of big baby Davis.Nuff said. Who do I want to win George Mason.I don't watch womens hoops.
Mike Hunt (Comdumsville,IL)
Do you think LSU' big men will win or UCLA's guards?
Steve Bunin (1:15 PM)
Great question "Mike" - UCLA's guards. LSU's bigs will go off, but UCLA's bigs will score, too.
JJ (Milwaukee Wisconsin)
For the sake of my bracket, I hope UCLA wins. But who doesn't like Big Baby??
CJ (Flint)
Shows been on one year and Steve Bunin is still around, now thats an April Fools joke right there..
Steve Bunin (1:16 PM)
Thanks for watching, CJ. Man, no love from the Wolverine state, and I covered sports there in both Lansing and Kalamazoo for a few years. All good. Flintstones rocked in the early 00s.
Zach (Montezuma,IA)
During the Press Confeence yesterday, he actually broke down, because he doesn't want to be at a higher position than the coach he had when HE wrestled...but the fan base over here has no problem with it. The timing is REALLY weird, though, I agree.
Rema (Toledo)
I think that LSU and Florida will compete for the championship. Then Florida will win the whole thing
Steve Bunin (1:17 PM)
Rema - Toledo is an underrated town. Sandusky a hot-spot. Cleveland rocks.
max (pittsburgh,PA)
OH-IO alll the way next year with that Thad 5. :)
Steve Bunin (1:18 PM)
Max - you speak some truth. But don't count out UW, Wash., not Wisc. Yes they lose Brandon Roy, but they have almost everybody else back, plus their own McDonald's All-American 7-footer, Spencer Hawes, who played Oden straight up in the McD game this week.
Andrew (Oshkosh)
Speaking fo the Flintstones, how about Charlie bell. Getting his first triple double the game after his first double double. Now the Bucks just need to get mateen cleaves, and trade Redd for Jason Richardon!
Steve Bunin (1:19 PM)
Andrew - GREAT CALL! Where's A.J. Granger when you need him? I always loved Bell's toughness. He and Cleaves were Izzo's ultimate backcourt. All-around players who boarded, passed, and led.
Seth Mattingly (Springfield, KY)
There is NO doubt in my mind that Florida will beat the crap out of George Mason.NONE
Dayne (East Dublin,Ga)
Never speculate a year in advance, you lose all validity
jacob (corpus christi tx)
leyland is older then levy
Veteran, USS Eisenhower
I like Adam Morrison, but anyone who cries after losing a game is NOT NBA material. Adam: cut your hair and get a job
JJ (Milwaukee Wisconsin)
The Brewers-if their pitchers can stay healthy-will win the NL Central. The Cards have been on decline the past few years. This could be the better than .500 year!
Nathan (Delano, MN)
Go Twins!!!
Ben Dover (Mudville,KS)
JJ will not be good in the NBA
Ben Dover (Mudville,KS)
What about JJ...he cried after his game and shot a measly 3-18!
Scott (NY)
We don't want LSU FL.. SEC matchup? That is what the regular season is for. THIS IS TOURNEY TIME!!!
Patrick (Detroit, MI)
Watch out for Detroit
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
best safety advice all day: "watch out for Detroit"
Dayne (East Dublin,Ga)
NBA needs to be more like NCAA, One game tourney's
James Murphy (West Lafayette, IN)
NBA is too much glamour and dunks, and not enough shooting and finesse
Jake fitzsimmons (Marathon Wi)
the cavs need to get at least one more player besides lebron ro make it to the championship probably a big guy like the heat
bryan (wisconsin)
the nba needs players with passion that are actually coachable. the nba's players biggest concern is his own stats and his contract
Andrew (Kings Park, NY)
The Cavs need one more year to develop
Andrew (Oshkosh)
Is anybody else laughing at the idea of Lebron in the playoffs when every possesion matters. Yes, that INCLUDES THE FOUTH QUARTER!
matt (baton rouge(La))
lsu lsu lsu all the way they will win the national championship men and women's
Dayne (East Dublin,Ga)
the nba needs DICKIE V !!!!
Steve Bunin (1:31 PM)
I personally love Morrison's heart. Anybody who cares that much about the game is okay in my book. Little tip: Ben in Kansas, your IM's are good, but let's use something close to your real name, or we can't post 'em....
S. Martin (Brooklyn, NY)
I don't think the nba is ready for Dickie V
Andrew (Kings Park, NY)
I can't believe the NBA is going to ban the wearing of the tights. So stupid.
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
A little Dickey V goes a long way.
Pops Max-a-Bonsu (Da Burgh)
NFL ruined players like Chad Johnson...we all love watching his celebrations
willy s. (ashland, or)
crying is one of the most important attributes of human nature. morrison is a human being. whoever disagrees should quit the navy and get a real degree in psychology.
Steve Bunin (1:35 PM)
Willy S., Ashland rocks. Went to the Shakespeare festival in '89 -- that thing is off the chain.
Andrew (Kings Park, NY)
I am so excited about the baseball season starting. Anybody else.
Nathan (Delano, MN)
Steve, wheres the love for KG 30 straight double doubles yet no MVP talk. I know the TWolves are bad this year but without him how many wins do u think they would have.. like 10!
Lou (KC)
Temple will shut down Farmar, just ask JJ. "BigBaby" and Tyrus own the paint.
Steve Bunin (1:36 PM)
Nathan - you're right, but Nash is making his otherwise somewhat mediocre teammates (other than Marion) so much better -- and KG just isn't doing that. Granted he's a PF, so he can't do it as easily as a PG, but don't get me wrong. I love KG - best PF in the game - if you consider TD a center. But Nash is the MVP and there ain't much doubt.
Michael (Rochester, Mi)
Chauncy for MVP
Steve Bunin (1:38 PM)
Michael - CB is legit, too. They have so many other great players, though, it's hard to say they'd be terrible without him.
Andrew (Kings Park, NY)
Dari I love your tie.
Steve Bunin (1:43 PM)
See, Andrew - THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!
Nathan (Delano, MN)
Dari- have u heard any news about the new vikings jerseys??
jacob (corpus christi tx)
What about WRESTLEMANIA who will win Cena or HHH? That is going on this weekend also.
Mike (Levittown,NY)
If Tyrus Thomas goes to the nba draft do you think that he will be drafted number one?
Steve Bunin (1:44 PM)
Mike - I'm hearing top-5, but not necessarily #1. You still don't know about his offensive game. Is he the next KG or the next Stromile Swift?
Pete (Edmond, OK)
Chris Paul should be in the conversation... MVP that is. How many games did they win last year? 18. And now they are 38-39.
Isaac (New York City)
I'm tired of hearing about how great and unstoppable LSU is. It's not like the steamrolled over AandM... they can be beaten. I think UCLA is going to frustrate LSU just like they did to Memphis. Just becuase you're not a high flying team or score a lot of points doesn't mean you're not athletic
Dari Nowkhah (1:44 PM)
Andrew, thanks! It was the first one I grabbed before I left the house! :)
Steve Bunin (1:45 PM)
Isaac - great point. They were tough in the SEC, but not run-away champs. I think you gotta pack it in, let 'em fire away from distance, and box out like crazy. Do that and you beat LSU.
Andrew (Kings Park, NY)
Wow I can't believe someone else actually watches wrestling. HHH will win.
Scott Yoogodzinski (Whitefish, MT)
Why are you even talking about womens basketball. No one cares. People are swithcing the channel as we speak because of womens college basketball.
Jake fitzsimmons (Marathon Wi)
steve do you think Aaron Rodgers will be as good as Favre was?
Steve Bunin (1:46 PM)
Jake - hell, no. No disrespect to Rodgers - he'll be good, maybe even a Pro Bowler, but Favre? That's a loooooooooooong way away.
Zach (Montezuma,IA)
If i was Thomas, I'd owe it to Baton Rouge to stay...
Jake fitzsimmons (Marathon Wi)
who cares bout wrestlmania
Dari Nowkhah (1:47 PM)
Scott... come back, come back... I love Whitefish! I lived there for 2 years!! Go Bulldogs!! And Julio Delgado!
Mike (Levittown,NY)
When Rudy Gay goes to the NBA do you think he will have a LeBron James impact?
Steve Bunin (1:49 PM)
Mike - not at all. I'm very scared that Gay will be another McCants. Great NBA body, great NBA game, not enough heart to bring it 82 times per season. His game and athleticism is off the charts, but unlike Ray Allen at UCONN, he isn't as consistent. He'll got top10, and might well be a stud, but it's a risk. LeBron wasn't a risk at all.
Taylor Bessmer (Norfolk,Ne)
not right away maybe in a few years but he will never be as good as lebron
Nathan (Delano, MN)
Steve or Dari- have any of u guys heard any new news about the new Vikings jerseys?
Cornelius (Stafford VA)
Everyone should start throwing Gilbert Arenas into the MVP talk.
Dari Nowkhah (1:49 PM)
Haven't heard about the Vikes jerseys ... are they waterproof?
Steve Bunin (1:50 PM)
Cornelius - I have been big on Gilbert since his days at UA. I think he's the 4th-best PG in the game now. Nash, Parker, Paul, Arenas, Kidd.
Patrick (Detroit)
Rudy Gay will be another Luther Head, backing up a better guard
EDDIE (HOUSTON)
RUDY GAY DONT EVEN START NEXT YEAR
Nico ((Simi Valley, CA))
NO HE WILL NOT, MIKE!!!!! Rudy is good but not great.
Crazy Red (NEW ORLEANS)
GO LSU..... YA HEARRRRRRD ME!
Adam (Binghamton, NY)
steve what do you think about Amsterdam in NFL europe, do you still think Hamburg is the team to beat?
James (West Lafayette, IN)
Dari, how far do you think the A's will go this year?
Dari Nowkhah (1:52 PM)
They can win the West, though I like the Angels. But for the A's... Dan Johnson is the man! Big year for him... A's as the WC is my pick... thanks James
Steve Bunin (1:52 PM)
Adam - gotta say I'm not following NFL Europe that strongly this year. It's on my list of things-to-do, but it's about 975th on the list, right behind watering my neighbor's lawn.
Steve Bunin (1:53 PM)
PS - I worked in Binghamton back in '97. Go B-Mets.
Adam (Binghamton, NY)
steve, I think George Mason will win it all, that's not an opinion, it's a fact. And to all those naysayers, guess what...They're wrong
Scott (Whitefish, MT)
Chad Johnson did not have the best celebrations in the league last year. Steve Smith was more creative and he scored more.
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
People have well-formed opinions about NFL-E?
Avi (San Francisco, CA)
It is a FACT that many major and minor leaguers have used steroids over the past two decades - how many of them have SEVEN MVPs? Let's set the record straight as fans; the outrage isn't over the (speculation) that Bonds used steroids, it's over the fact that he's SO much better than everybody else.
Nico ((Simi Valley, CA))
oh come ON steve. don't hate on nfl europe like that
Mike (Bellmore New York)
I think T.O Is much better then Chad Johnson and That T.O Deserves much more respect Lets Go Cowboys!!!
Mike (Bellmore New York)
Hey Steve you think gonzaga will still have a chance at the 64 when Morrison is gone?
bryan (wisconsin)
barry sanders had the best celebrations
Taylor Bessmer (Norfolk,Ne)
yeah does anyone say thats bad about the no celebrations
Mike (Levittown,NY)
My friend thinks Steve Novak will be just like Dirk Novitski in the NBA. A 6-10 tall pure shooter. I disagree. What do you think Steve?
alex (tampa)
dari do you see any problem with nba full length tights
Dari Nowkhah (1:57 PM)
Alex, no... not at all. In fact, they help anchors too... Steve loves his!
Scott (Whitefish, MT)
Did you go to Whitefish high school?
Dari Nowkhah (1:58 PM)
No Scott... I worked at KCFW as the sports guy... I'm not originally from Montana, just lived there and skiied Big Mountain TONS!!
Steve Bunin (1:58 PM)
Mike - Sorry for your buddy, but that's not gonna happen. Novak is a great shooter, but he's more Matt Bullard than Dirk. Dirk's athleticism is off the charts, plus he has a great post-up game and passing ability. No dis to Novak, but he is none of things. He's just a great tall shooter. He should play for 5 years or so, 7ppg off the pine for a good team, more for a weaker one.
Carter (Baltimore,MD)
NO way T.O just wants to run his mouth and only cares about himself. Chad has thebest hands in the NFL. Who has better hands then him?
Andrew (Oshkosh)
Im from WI. Novak wont be as good as Dirk, and he may not even be a starter. Not great on the D end, but dude can shoot better than most NBA players
Jeremy (Fredericksburg VA)
I agree Mike. T.O. is better. Everyone watch out for the Cowboys this year.
Andrew (Kings Park, NY)
The celebrations gave the fans something to cheer about.
Taylor Bessmer (Norfolk,Ne)
there is nothing wront with tights what is the comissioner thinking
micah (California)
what was your favorite TD dance last season
krishna (cerritos)
do you think if favre stays that they might start rodgers over him?
jake fitzsimmons (marathon wi)
steve can the nfl keep up the flags and fines for ?
Steve Bunin (2:00 PM)
Jake - yes. 15-yd penalty and fines however much they want. Oddly enough, Lambeau Leaps were singled out as "OKAY".
Dhruv (Chicago)
I think that the NFL is targeting TO and Chad Johnson with its policy. What do you think?
Steve Bunin (2:00 PM)
Dhruv -- yes and no. Those guys are the ones pushing the limits, but so did Joe Horn (remember cellphone-gate?)
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
chad johnson watched billy white shoes johnson?!!? what is he, 45? please, CJ...
Dick Rash (Pants, Ca)
i think they will still do celebrations just kick longer pats
Scott (Tipp City (Ohio))
You can't celebrate in the end zone but you can jump up and down run all around the field after making a tackle or a sack. Does'nt make sense
Steve Bunin (2:01 PM)
Great point, Scott ... and great city name: Tipp City!
Scott (Whitefish, MT)
Dari, I love the new rule on celebrations. Chad Johnson was starting to get out of hand with all the crap he did. He should act like he's been there before.
john (wantagh,ny)
hey i was wondering do you think wes miller would have a chance in the nba he lacks size but his great defense heart nd shooting could help him what do u think does he have a shot?
Steve Bunin (2:02 PM)
Josh - afraid not. There are too many great shooters who haven't made it who had more size (Respert, Crispin, etc...) who have failed. Too one-dimensional, but so much fun to watch in the NCAA. Probably a decent fit on our Olympic team, but nobody listens to me on that.
D.J (Bascom)
Lsu will rip UCLA, Glen Davis will dominate in that zone and Tyrus Thompson will still block shots. Bayou Bengals all the way!
S. Martin (Brooklyn, NY)
I don't think there's anything wrong with celebrating if it's not targeted to the other team
Andrew (Oshkosh)
Yeah, why cant people be more like barry Sanders? WHo doesnt love a guy who bails on his team during training camp...GREAT GUY!
Mike (Bellmore New York)
What was CJ wearing a yellow Red hat come on you make all that money to wear ugly stuff
Mike (Levittown,NY)
Everyone has been comparing "Big Baby" Glen Davis to Shaq his whole career. I dont even think hes going to be as effective as Kwame Brown is right now in the NBA. What do you think?
Deion (Charlotte NC)
The best dance was Steve Smith rowing the boat in the end zone.
Dave (NY)
Steve, who gets a celebration penalty first - TO, CJ, or Joe Horn?
Crazy BLUE (Los Angeles)
Go BRUINS TAKE IT ALL!!!!!!!!
CJ (Flint)
How can spiking the ball be ok? Your still using it as a prop, right?
jacob (corpus christi tx)
what has Chad johnson done really besides dancing let him take his team to the superbowl.
Curt (Cable WI.)
Because the Lambeau leap is about ths fans
Dave (NY)
Banning celebrations is as mindless as the NBA banning tights - they don't hurt anyone, so stop trying to turn pro atheletes into personality-free clones...
Steve Bunin (2:10 PM)
Earlier, somebody asked who I think is gonna be the NBA #1 overall pick, would it be Ty Thomas? I don't think so. I think Texas SOPH LaMarcus Aldridge is the man. More offensive weapons, similar athleticism. Also very thin and could end up being solid like Marcus Camby - or worse - but somebody'll take a flyer on him being KG pre-muscles.
Lafayette Moore (Richton Park IL)
Do you think Dirk Nowitzki has a better chance than Steve Nash in winning MVP.
Zach (Montezuma,IA)
I wonder how strict the new NFL commish will be...
Avi (San Francisco, CA)
How many other people who either have tested positive for steroids or have been speculated to have taken them have won SEVEN MVP awards? Credit where credit is due - steroids didn't rewrite the record books, Barry Bonds did.
THE PULSE (2:10 PM)
Keep your Final Four comments coming!
Andrew (Oshkosh)
WI is really represntin the pulse today. Its just a shame that our best team was the 81-81 brewers!!!!!!
Steve Bunin (2:10 PM)
Andrew - how about UW-Milwaukee? Marquette? Man, no love!
Dave (NY)
Next are we gonna see Papi fined for tossing his bat after crushing one?
Stephan (Richmondville,NY)
I think Rudy Gay is good but not great
Scott (Whitefish, MT)
Dari, i love you because you lived in Whitefish.
john (wantagh,ny)
Yes i m a fan of the Caa i think its a great conference i was jsu wondering if u feel that this year started a movement of 2 teams from that conference every year?
victor alexandria,la
gail i think you,re a nice coach. will you still be coaching.
Sevetra (Fort Worth)
How much influence does the NBA,refs and Nike have on lebron making the playoffs this year, i know its a business and they cant money with him not in the postseason
Evan (OH)
IT's time analysts realize that GM is for real, and not a lottery winner.
Maijed (Oakland)
Steve how well do you think the raiders are going to play next year?
CJ (Flint)
Soon the NFL will be banning cover 2 blitzes....
Steve Bunin (2:12 PM)
Maijed - poor, I'm afraid. QB concerns and I'm still not sold on their RB, right side of the OL, or the defense. Other than that, I like 'em. :)
Scott (Whitefish, MT)
The gators are the most complete team in the final four. George Mason is fianlly going to lose.
James (West Lafayette, IN)
If George Mason beats Florida, everyone and their cousin will be watching the championship.
bryan (wisconsin)
the baby brewers will make some noise this year with sheets, weeks, lee and fielder
Brian (Phx, Az)
The Bruins Haters will be hating life come Monday night!!!!!
Ryan (Ga)
you know what a funny celebration would be... when T.O. or Chad Johnson or whoever scores, they pull out a checkbook and go ahead and write the NFL a check for then fine they're gonna get.
Evan (OH)
The NBA is just scared of a thuggish lable. Time they realize it's a little late for that.
jacob (corpus christi tx)
Who is the the best pro in the final four?
Steve Bunin (2:13 PM)
Jacob -- my pick: Aaron Afflalo. I think he's a Joe Dumars type (a far way away from being a Hall of Famer, but same type of player) - solid body, great D, good midrange game. I am big on him.
Mike (Levittown,NY)
Everyone has been comparing Big Baby Glen Davis to Shaq his whole career. I dont even think hes going to be as effective as Kwame Brown is right now in the NBA. What do you think?
Steve Bunin (2:14 PM)
Big difference for Big Baby - he's 330 lbs. Kwame is 230. That's why Kwame struggles (that and no heart). Baby has heart, has outside range, good game, good quickness. As long as the weight isn't a problem, he'll be big stud.
Nathan (Delano, MN)
I think the new rule that u cant hit the QB below the knees is dumb..! Injuries make the NFL intresting and fun! The Vikings for example. Noone thought he could win 7 straight games with the vikings since Culpepper couldnt. Injuries is a part of the game.
dave (new haven CT)
i think glen davis will be good but no shaq
Steve Bunin (2:15 PM)
Dave - I agree. He's no Shaq, but he's a different player. More of a rich man's Kurt Thomas. A very rich man's Kurt Thomas.
Matt (New Waterford, OH)
You cant say that because Kwame Brown came right outta high school
Dan (Canada)
how bout we pick people from canada
Evan (OH)
Im surprised how much Canadians do respect the sport of basketball. Especially with a team like the Raptors...
Avi (San Francisco, CA)
I think that Big Baby is more in the mold of a Robert Trailer than a Shaquile O'neal.
Stephan (Richmondville,NY)
the pulse is best show ever!!!!!!!
Evan (OH)
NO WAY! Did you see Big Baby stroke that three last game? Tell me Trailer could do that...
kerry (mt. dora, florida)
the gators have the only coach with final 4 experience, have covered the largest margin of victory and have three starters who grew up with pro sport dads. gator nation rules
Stephan (Richmondville,NY)
if anyone here is a knick fan i feel bad for you people
Adam (Wisconsin)
I hid all my knicks stuff this year. I'm embarrassed to be a fan.
Kevin (Boston Sports Nation)
Again, Glen Davis is a slightly smaller version of Stanley Roberts (LSU) with a better jumper and less off the court issues.
Zach (Montezuma,IA)
With Knight School on ESPN2 right now, I would like to see other schools do the same as TTU did...
Nico ((Simi Valley, CA))
UCLA will win today. why? Ryan Hollins. He neutralized J.P. Batista in the Zags game, and Davis is just like J.P. Hollins scored on him and shut Batista down when it counted. Hollins is the X-Factor in today's game. UCLA 60-58, and Hollins has 16 and 6.
Aaron (Greensboro, NC)
You can see it in Glen's eyes, all he is really thinking about is eating a big cheeseburger
Avi (San Francisco, CA)
*cough* Homer *cough**cough*
Mark (Travis AFB, CA)
Nico, as much as I'd love that, we have to realize that Hollins thigh bruise will probably be slowing him down some today.
Nico ((Simi Valley, CA))
Thanks for giving Afflalo some credit Steve.
Trevor (Raleigh, NC)
I love watching the Cinderella story. I think that if George Mason makes the Championship game the tv rating will go way up.
bryan (wisconsin)
speaking as a neutral fan i just hope the games are copetitive and at least close
Elinor (New York, NY)
I remember when the esteemed Bob Ryan said it's UConn, no question. Forget about everyone else. Well we know what happened to them. All NYC is rooting for our local coach. Go Patriots.
Sean (Walnut Creek, Ca)
Anyone who thinks George Mason can win this game today is crazy.....there time is up, come back to reality
Horacio (Berwyn, IL)
Is this the ONLY year without a number one seed in the final four?
Dari Nowkhah (2:43 PM)
Horacio, it's the second such year... 1980 was the other year.
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
prediction: tony skinn turns into teen wolf at halftime, Mason wins 223-18.
Nico ((Simi Valley, CA))
ARE you INSANE, Ehpraim? 223 points on FLORIDA?!!!!!!!!
Kyle (Monticello, IN)
Wait...Teen Wolf with Michael J. Fox or Teen Wolf 2 with Jason Bateman?
Saad (Baltimore)
By the way, Happy anniversary to the pulse.
Nathan (Delano, MN)
Michael J. Fox!
Nico ((Simi Valley, CA))
HAPPY FIRST ANNIVERSARY, PULSE!!!! POWER TO THE PULSE!!!!!!!!
Kyle (Monticello, IN)
The score would be much closer if it were Jason Bateman...though I'm a huge Arrested Development fan, Michael J. Fox was a better Teen Wolf
Kyle (Cumberland, RI)
I can't wait for tonight's games.
Rich (Miami, FL)
Has there been a better NCAA tourament ever!!! This is what we always talk about the chance for the underdog to win it. Maybe NCAA football should take some notes...the favorite sometimes goes down give more thatn 2 teams a shot
Mike (Bellmore New York)
Lets Go Mets! I think they have the team this year to beat the braves!
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
M-E-T-S METS METS METS
Chris (Manhasset, NY)
Pedro is the x-factor. If he has 30+ starts, the Mets are the team to beat
Disha (Lombard)
The White Sox won't win anything this year. Anytime you trade someone talented in center field for a slow, old DH, that is killing yourself. Good luck, and the Cubs will run away with the title.
Nico ((Simi Valley, CA))
BREWERS win WS this year!!!!
Kyle (Florence, NJ)
Whats keeping the Phillies from making the playoffs... The Braves really aren't that good
Kyle (Monticello, IN)
I'm a huge Cubs fan and I know for a fact that they won't win it all this year. They need to just face the facts and trade Prior and Wood and try to rebuild their pitching staff
Dan (Bradford, MA)
The NL is weak. The AL has the seven best teams in baseball. The NL may as well be AAA this year.
steven (greensburg,in)
i like the cubs but mark prior is probably gonna have another freak accident. i wonder what will happen this year. i say he slips on a banana peel and then gets an anvil dropped on his head by wyle e. cyote
Paul (Bowie, MD)
Watch out for the Orioles, Leo Mazzone will make the O's starters the best in the East.
Ross (OH)
Indians all the way... Grady Sizemore, Jhonny Peralta, and Pronk can't be stopped.
c (CA)
Gator nation fans...Warning, YOU WILL PLAY THE SLOPPIEST GAME OF THE YEAR AGAINST UCLA, cuz they lock folks! but dont be too down, cuz everyone for some reason plays their "sloppiest" game of the year against them. Coincidence? DONT THINK SO
Kyle (Cumberland, RI)
Celtics aren't that much better this year, but the Knicks are striggling.
Taylor Bessmer (Norfolk,Ne)
who is goin to win the heavyweight divisioin this week on wrestlemania
Miles (Baton Rouge)
the x-factor in today's game is garrett temple. if he locks down farmar the way he clamped jj redick, ucla will have to rely on a banged up interior to go against tyrus thomas and glen davis, who has been limiting interior scoring this entire season.
bryan (wisconsin)
the only way the O's have the best staff is if someone gets the time machine from back to the future and brings back jim palmer
Amit (Stockton,CA)
How hard will it be to transition from a primarily 4-3 defense, to a base 3-4 defense?
David R. (Dallas Tx)
Where will the Texas Rangers finish the year and why?
Nathan (Delano, MN)
The Twins might win it all. Its up to Justin Mornuea and Rondell White!
Zach (Montezuma,IA)
The best 3 teams in the National League are the Mets, Cards and the Marlins.
craig (pgh)
dan you are crazy, you are saying that the 7th best team in the al is better than st louis no way
jake baltimore, ,maryland
do you think that a teams succes plays a big part in the mvp race because nash was mvplat year and the suns were the best in the west, kg 2 years ago was mvp and the t'wolves had a great year?? does chauncey have a legit chance because of detroits succes?
Steve Bunin (3:10 PM)
Jake - as I told some Pulsites a bit before, I think it's Nash. Better statistically without Amare, and the Suns are rocking away in the West. I love what Chauncey does, but he's got so much talent around him, i don't hink you can say he's more VALUABLE to his team than LeBron is to the Cavs or Dwayne is to the Heat, or even Melo to the Nuggets.
David ((Pittsburgh,Pa))
Everyone in this room knows that Carl Krauser is the best player in the country and Gerry MnNamara is overrated. He proved it in the tournamentt against Texas AandM.
Steve Bunin (3:11 PM)
David - you seem so unbiased. I love Jamie Dixon from back in our days in Flagstaff, AZ, where he was Ben Howland's assistant at NAU, but GMAC was injured vs AandM, you can't blame that loss on him. Did you see the Big East tourney, by the way?
Trevor (Raleigh, NC)
Zach are you crazy, you think that the Marlins are better than the Braves
Jack O'Callahan (The Bronx)
Goerge Mason gonna win the whole thing against flordia the LSU!!!!!!!!!!!! GOERGE MASON!!!!!!!!!!!
Carson (Gravette, Ar.)
I think the Redskins might have a shot at the superbowl....Joe Gibbs is doing a good job with the free agents
dutch (gainesville)
man this pulse is making me itch for the game. i need another beer.
dutch (gainesville)
it's not sad that i downloaded "one shining moment" on my computer and am now replaying it over and over so i can memorize the words perfectly right?...
craig (pgh)
less than 3 hrs til game time
Zach (Montezuma,IA)
Just go out and buy EA Sports NCAA March Madness 2005, and then that song WILL get in your head...
justin drmolka (oshkosh,wi)
lets all sit back and relax as George Mason will do the unthinkable and take from others who tried to do come from a team that wasn't suppose to be in it and smile and laugh as 30 yrs down the road when the tell there grandkids the story of this glass slipper pulling upset after upset. GO GEORGE MASON
Trevor (Raleigh, NC)
Which game will provide the biggest bost for the team who wins that game? LSU vs. UCLA or George Mason vs. Florida.
Pete (Bentonville, AR)
I think the Royals are going to win the pennant the year!
Andrew (Oshkosh)
Dwyane Wade is proving once again that he is a better player than LeBron
Bryan (Lubbock, Texas)
If Jim Larranaga can take George Mason w/ ZERO NBA talent to a final four imagine the possiblities of him if he was @ a major program like UConn or UNC if he had those kids
Dave (MI)
Please..the disparity between the top seeds and the lower seeds is not as large as it once was with the big bucks players are making in the NBA these days.
Jeff (lakeland Fl)
One word- "Noah"
dennis (baton rouge, la)
LSU will beat UCLA by 4
dutch (gainesville)
true that!
Nick (Buffalo, NY)
The White Sox were one year wonders, Cleveland has all the piececs in place to be a force in the AL for years to come.
chris (Fort Wayne, IN)
GMU is Gator Bait today....the media has been giving them a big head all week and Florida has been getting mad. Mad teams usually win
Zach (Montezuma,IA)
Keep up the good work guys, but I've got to go to a Final Four party! Happy Anniversary, Pulse!
Chad (Gainesville)
Go Gators! The city is rockin'
Michael (San Francisco)
LSU is done....too much hype....UCLA will shut big baby down....and close his mouth for him
Nick (Buffalo, NY)
UCLA's the team to beat
Alex (Brooklyn)
The pulse are rookies on to being sophomores it's been almost a year for me as a viewer and you on TV.
Sean (Gainesville)
UCLA plays too ugly, not enough points. Gators have the right balance of O and D to win.
Michael (San Francisco)
Talk after the game is over....LSU did not show proper respect to the other 3 teams....not a good idea to give out BB material
Nico ((Simi Valley, CA))
There is no such thing as too ugly Sean.
dutch (gainesville)
That's totally true. It's not good to get ahead of yourselves. Let's just wait and see GatorNation. But I have faith...
Steven (Greensburg, IN)
Gators are OVER RATED!
dutch (gainesville)
Man this tournament is going to give me a heartattack, damn. Good thing Morrison made it okay to cry so I can cry for joy later!
Steve Bunin (3:53 PM)
gotta run pulsites - thanks for a great year! Enjoy the NBA Plays of the Month.
