Vaidisova is currently playing in the Bausch and Lomb Championships and has advanced to the third round with a 6-4 6-4 win over Spanish qualifier Laura Pous Tio. She will now face Lucie Safarova, the 15th seed, who reached the third round with a 6-4 1-6 6-3 triumph over Italian Mara Santangelo.
At just 16, Vaidisova has taken the tennis world by storm and is currently ranked No. 13 in the world with five WTA Tour singles titles in the last two years.
