Your memories of Luc Robitaille
![]() |
Robitaille will leave the game as the highest-scoring left wing in NHL history, his 668 goals currently ranking 10th all-time overall. He was a Stanley Cup winner with the Red Wings in 2002, also played for the Penguins and Rangers and won the gold medal with Team Canada in the 1994 World Championships.
Send us your memories of Robitaille's Hall of Fame career and we'll post a sampling of the responses.

Hipcheck in LA
My favorite Robitaille moment hands down was firing the puck at the head of Theo Fleury during the classic Kings-Flames games in the late 80's.
David (Santa Clarita)
My favorite Luc moment had to be when he broke Marcel Dionne's record with a hat trick this year. This was quite possibly the Kings' best moment all year.
Will Lahaina
Luc's best moment: Any one of those classic, half back-swing, left side, just inside the blue line, slap shots that beats the goalie high to the glove side.
Phil in LA
Lucky's goal versus Calgary while sliding on his stomach past the net is one of the greatest goals I've ever seen in the NHL. His goal against Montreal in the '93 Cup final was a highlight, but watching him hoist the cup with the Wings, even though I'm a die-hard Kings fan, was a great moment!
Matthew from Riverside, CA
I have two favorite moments of Luc. One was meeting him outside of the Forum in Inglewood, having him take the time to sign autographs for my brother and I when we were younger. He was so nice to both of us, and I would never forget that.Moment two: 1993. "We're playing hockey in June!!!" Man, what better way to start off your summer!
Joe (Long Beach, CA)
As a life-long Kings fan, I have many, many fond memories of "Luuuuuc!" Even with 1394 points, my favorite moment is off the ice. When Luc and his wife, Stacia, started Shelter for Serenity, a foundation to put victims of Hurricane Katrina into homes out here on the West Coast, it showed how great a person Luc is and how important he was to the Southern California community. It's that kind of thoughtfulness and goodwill that will be missed, as well as his scoring touch!
Adam J (Los Angeles)
When Luc was a rookie playing at the Forum, after the game he would hand his stick to the little kids waiting for him to leave the rink. Since that rookie year, he has been the same warm and engaging player (both on and off the ice). When you factor in all that he has done for the community and that he has been L.A. Kings hockey (pre-Wayne, during Wayne, and after Wayne) for the past 19 years, you have a termendous person who has kept hockey alive in L.A. His best year was the 63 goal year when Wayne was injured and he singlehandedly carried the team.
