Chat with Kelly Jennings
From Scouts, Inc.'s NFL draft bio on Jennings: "The bottom line, however, is that Jennings can take away one-third of the field as a shut-down man-to-man cover corner. He is a smooth athlete with good height and great top-end speed. He also is a high-character person and hard-working player who will work at his craft. For a team that employs primarily man-to-man coverage, Jennings will be a good value in the second round of the 2006 draft."
Scouts, Inc.'s Todd McShay has him going to the Arizona Cardinals at No. 41 in his latest mock draft.

Kelly's here! Send in those questions.
Zach (Tampa, FL)
Which of the Mosses would you rather cover, Santana or Sinorice?
Kelly Jennings (3:32 PM)
That's a tough question. I'm not sure. I guess I would like to cover Sinorice, because I've been playing with him for four years and know him better.
Frank, Long Island
Where do you see yourself going in the draft?
Kelly Jennings (3:33 PM)
To be honest, that's a hard question to answer. I figure late first or early second depending on how the draft goes.
Steve Dallas, TX
Kelly, if selected by the Cardinals, do you look forward to playing with the Edge?
Kelly Jennings (3:33 PM)
Oh yes, I would. I called Edge a week ago and he gave me insight into coming into the NFL. I would love to play with him.
Lit( Galloway, NJ)
Who was the best defensive player you played with in your career at Miami?
Kelly Jennings (3:34 PM)
I've played with some good ones. Ed Reed, Jonathan Vilma, lots of guys. They're all on the same level, they just do things in different ways that make them great.
John (Jersey City New Jersey
Hey kelly who was your favorite NFL team and player growing up.
Kelly Jennings (3:35 PM)
Growing up, my favorite team was the 49ers and my favorite player was Jerry Rice.
Brandon (LEH, NJ)
What was the best part about playing at Miami? What do you think is best of your game?
Kelly Jennings (3:35 PM)
I think the best part is just the tradition, it adds extra incentive to play just as well as the guys that came before you.
Joe, Montgomery, Al
Kelly, a lot of good DB's have come from Miami. You had a chance to play with Antrell Rolle yourself. What is the most important thing he taught you about playing corner?
Kelly Jennings (3:36 PM)
Antrell taught me about having a short memory. If you give up a play, just forget about it or the same thing will happen again.
LARRY, KANSAS CITY MO
KELLY, THE CHIEFS NEED A SHUTDOWN CORNER NOT TO MENTION A 'CANE ON THE ROSTER AND YOU WOULD LOVE BEING A STAR AT ARROWHEAD, WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Kelly Jennings (3:37 PM)
I would love it, with Herm Edwards being the coach. I think he's a great guy. I would love to be a part of that program and making a difference.
Benny (Hudson, WI)
Which NFL player do you compare youself too?
Kelly Jennings (3:38 PM)
I'd say like a Samari Rolle. They're not the biggest guys, but they go in every week and get the job done. They're always making a play.
Derek (PA)
Kelly, whos playing on your i-pod right now?
Kelly Jennings (3:38 PM)
Young Jeeze.
Jay Phila,PA
If it were up to you, what city would you like to play in, and is there any receiver you would like to play against? thanks
Kelly Jennings (3:39 PM)
The city that I would like to play in is Jacksonville, because it would be only an hour away from home. As far as the receiver, it would be TO or Randy Moss, the big time guys.
Big Howie
As a rookie corner coming into the NFL, how do you think you will stand up against the marquis receivers in the league?
Kelly Jennings (3:40 PM)
In the beginning it will be a test to see how it is that I can do. Once I get in and learn the system and then I can show my talents and skills to stand up against the best receivers.
Rob (Yonkers)
What coach would you most like to play for in the NFL?
Kelly Jennings (3:40 PM)
I would say Lovie Smith. I met him and he's a great guy. He just seemed like a coach that I could get used to and blossom with and do well.
Chris (Newark)
Who do you think is the best Miami alum in the NFL?
Kelly Jennings (3:41 PM)
Oh goodness. You know what I can't give a straight answer on that. There are some great ones and so many different positions. It's hard to say just one.
Frank, New York
What are your strengths and weaknesses?
Kelly Jennings (3:42 PM)
I think my strength is my knowledge and quickness. My weakness is I need to get more physical at the line of scrimmage.
Mike (MD)
What's your favorite moment from the Miami, Florida State rivalry?
Kelly Jennings (3:43 PM)
My biggest moment was redshirt sophomore year when we ended up pulling it out on one of the missed field goal. I got my hand on the ball to tip it and someone else got it.
Dan (Cincinnati, OH)
Who was the best WR you went up against in college?
Kelly Jennings (3:44 PM)
I'll give you three, Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald.
Phillip (Cortland, Ohio)
Out of everyone in the NFL, who do you see as your role model, or idol at your postion?
Kelly Jennings (3:44 PM)
I have to say a Duane Starks and Samari Rolle. I watch those guys and model myself after them. They get the job done and do a great job.
michael (atlanta)
what has surprised you during the process of preparing for the NFL Draft?
Kelly Jennings (3:45 PM)
Nothing's really surprised me, just the mind games involved to keep you guessing. That's the biggest surprise.
Chris(San Diego)
how do feel about some projections that I see that have you in the mid to late first round?
Kelly Jennings (3:46 PM)
I feel great about it. Hopefully that will happen. If it doesn't, I'm not going to feel any less about myself as a player. I'm going to get whatever I get and be ready for whatever team gets me.
stephen (pittsburgh)
what teams have shown the most interest in you?
Kelly Jennings (3:47 PM)
Not exactly. Coaches always keep you guessing. It's really hard to tell which teams like you most.
jake (sf)
What will be your first purchase?
Kelly Jennings (3:47 PM)
I don't know. I just want to get my parents a house or get them something. They've done so much for me.
andrew (knoxville 10 years old)
do you like coach coker
Kelly Jennings (3:48 PM)
My relationship with coach was great. He was a great guy, a players coach, but when it's time to get business done, he lays down the law.
jeff (miami)
where and with whom do you plan to watch the draft?
Kelly Jennings (3:49 PM)
I plan on watching the draft in Orlando with my immediate family, just having a little get together. That's where I'll be and that's what I'll be doing.
(Jason Seattle)
has Seattle shown any intrest in you they need a cb you our ty law would look nice in a seahawk uniform?
Kelly Jennings (3:50 PM)
I haven't talked to anybody from Seattle, they haven't brought me in for a visit. I've heard that they might want a corner, and I might be available when they're picking. If they want me, that would be great.
Russ (Dyersville)
Did you cover Sinorice a lot in practice, and who won those battles?
Kelly Jennings (3:50 PM)
Yeah, I did. We went together a lot. He won his, I won mine.
brandon( oklahoma)
What do you think you did best at your Pro Day/Combine?
Kelly Jennings (3:51 PM)
I'd say my change of direction and ball skills. I think I did a great job with that.
Marc (Horseheads, NY)
Who is faster, you or Devin Hester?
Kelly Jennings (3:52 PM)
(Laughs) Devin is more explosive than I am. In the 40, I think we'd be right together. It's a toss up.
Kelly Jennings (3:53 PM)
Thanks for the questions. Thanks for the support and everything you fans have done.
