ARE YOU READY FOR THE THE FINALS!! The mavs and the heat will clash in a great battle. Sorry dirk, you did good but not good enough!
ted (Boston,MA)
Hey Pulse!
Kyle (Cumberland, RI)
Hello everyone!
Jordan Gill (Lambertville, Michigan)
With all due respect for the Miami Heat, the Pistons laid an egg. Chauncey Billups might as well be renamed Mr. Big Head. He was way too overconfident in his shot and it showed in his field goal percentage.
Jordan Gill (Lambertville, Michigan)
I've been waiting to get that out... now I feel better.
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
Congrats to Canada: Eric Gagne returns, Toronto puts up 9 in the 9th, Justin Morneu homerun, Ricky Williams premiers for the Argos, a girl from Alberta finishes second in the spelling bee, and Glenallen Hill wins the seniors division. Best Canadian espn couple of days in years.
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
Ok, I lied about Glenallen Hill. But if there was a seniors division in the bee, and he was in it, I'm sure he'd win.
Marc (Bristol, CT)
The reports of the Pistons death have been greatly exaggerated. They've made the Final Four four years running, and once Ben Wallace re-signs, they'll have everyone booked for another three years. Let's see if Joe Dumars can now add the energy and scoring they missed in the Playoffs. The Pistons aren't going anywhere.
Nico (California)
it is 2 bad that flip wont win a title anytime soon
Kyle (MN)
Flip Saunders must be cursed
Steve Bunin (1:06 PM)
Pulsites - what happened to Flip's face for crying out loud?
Brian (Grafton, WI)
Would not have guessed the Heat would have gelled like this 2 months ago. Pat Riley did an amazing job.
tim(dallas,texas)
no one on the heat can contain dirk and the mavs offense, the mavs cant contain the heat all the time but if shaq and wade arent playing its over
victor alexandria,la
dallas and miami and shaq mvp.
brent (NYC)
that would all great marc if ben wallace was going to re sign their is no chance he re signs pistons need to change at least one starter
Wayne (Meridian,MS)
At least we won't be seeing the Detroit Pistons and the San Antonio Spurs won their slowdown basketball styles this year. We will get a new champion because none of the remaining participants have a Larry O'Brien trophy and their respective trophy cases. It should be an exciting NBA Finals.
Nico (California)
Whoever plays MIA will win. The running will tire out Shaq, and both PHO and DAL can stretch out defenses and go in and out.
Sam (Indianapolis)
Detroit is out. A great moment for Artest fans.
bill lasvegas ,nv
miami fans, stop the white, please.if that's not a reason to not want miamiin the finals i dont know what is.
Steve Bunin (1:09 PM)
Pulsites - Ricky carries 4 times for 7 yards and says, "I did a pretty good job?>" What do you think?!?!?
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
It's like Flip Saunders is weekend dad...he let's them do whatever they want. If their real dad was there, Larry Brown, he would have given them the belt, and this would have never happened.
Marc (Bristol, CT)
Has anyone ever checked for blood from his mouth in a series so many times as Dwyane Wade pretended to against the Pistons. Scott, you're a genius.
Matt (Boston)
I think Ricky is a little to cocky.
Matthew (Plano,TX)
The Suns need to elevate their game if they want the slightest chance. There Run in Gun is their live so they need some life. THe mavs just need to feed it to dirk and josh Howard
jason (bethpage new york)
I'm suprised with ricky! He goes to a leage where they barely use running backs. He was way better with the dolphins and they should not have let him go!
Brian (Grafton, WI)
Come on now Steve, he didn't forget any of the plays!
Steve Bunin (1:11 PM)
Brian - neither did I. Dude, what are they paying him for?!? NOT to forget plays? Isn't that setting the bar a little low. (Yes, I know you were kidding. I'm just dying out here laughing...)
Sam (Indianapolis)
Wallace should go back to... Washington where he started his career. They sure need a big man.
Wingo (Deptford, NJ)
I'm not sure which excites me more: a Stanley Cup final between two towns no one cares about, or a guest appearance from somebody from The Young And The Restless...
jason (bethpage new york)
Im takning the pulse's place. ARE YOUREADY TO RUMBLE. Were talking baseball basketball, and toronto footbal. Lets go!
jason (bethpage new york)
Well for the CFL that is ok but it is a good thing he can come back to the dolphins in 2007 so he can actully GAIN YARDS!
Wingo (Deptford, NJ)
I think if you paid me a quarter mil, I could get you 7 yards on 4 carries...
Mike (New York)
Ricky Williams cant do too much if the pass game didnt work. Toronto only scored 3 pts, once the pass game gets going so will Ricky.
Matthew (Plano,TX)
It's time for somthing to go either a starter or flip quite frankly i think a starter will go first because flip isn't some larry brian
Wingo (Deptford, NJ)
Will Jeff Gordon be marrying any trophy presenters at Dover this weekend?
thomas (brooklyn, Ny)
Big deal 4 times for 7yards. Stop trying to show off for the fans and prove you are worthy of having fans in the cfl and nfl.
Drew Paton (Baltimore )
What exactly do the Wizards need to get them over the hump of being a top notch team?
Steve Bunin (1:16 PM)
Drew - they need a 3. They've got a great combo guard who makes them better in Antonio Daniels. Obviously, they've got Gilbert, who is an elite player BUT doens't make his teammates better. They also don't have a defensive stopper. Etan T. ain't it, and Antwain ain't it either. Gotta be able to stop somebody.
Dari Nowkhah (1:16 PM)
Hey guys and gals... you've heard us talk about our tough softball league here at ESPN... How tough is it? Get this... one very dedicated player BROKE HIS SHOULDER yesterday morning! Do your softball leagues compare?
Matt (Boston)
I never liked Jeff Gordon, I would take Tony Stewart over Jeff, any day.
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
I notice there is some ad space open around Gordon's right clavical. What are the going rates?
Jordan Gill (Lambertville, Michigan)
Why does a starter need to leave? They made the finals 2 years in a row and made the conference finals this year. They don't make to the finals one year and all the sudden its time to rebuild? Doesnt make sense to me.
Brian (Grafton, WI)
Were you back off the shelf in softball Dari?
Brian (Grafton, WI)
Argos should bring back Rocket Ismail, that would solve all of their problems.
Sam (Indianapolis)
I wish I could see the CFL games here in the states. I would like to see the way they play across the border and to see the new prospects
Dari Nowkhah (1:17 PM)
Brian, I'm back out there man... knee a little sore, but thanks!
Richard Petty (South Carolina)
Softball is not a sport in my eyes.
Nico (Simi Valley, CA)
I'm only 13 and i could get 20 yards 4 250K
Matthew (Plano,TX)
I'ved never liked nascar or horse vracing because nascar is just a modern version of horse racing and horse racing is boring enough
Dari Nowkhah (1:18 PM)
Huh? NASCAR is like horse racing? What am I missing Matthew?
Brian (Grafton, WI)
Morning softball league? That might be the most dedicated part of that statement. Though a broken shoulder is a little rough. Workers comp?
Jose: Albany
Softball's a sport when guys are out breaking shoulders on awful throws from shortstop. That's a gamer.
jason (bethpage new york)
Ricky needs to get out of the CFL and back to the NFL. I can't wait untill ricky comes back in 2007 (suspecting that he wil) so we can actully see him RUN THE BALL!
Wingo (Deptford, NJ)
I heard it was Stephen A. Simth that broke his shoulder...he was trying to hard to pat himself on the back, and the weak thing just gave way...
Camoui( Ft.Lauderdale FL,)
Rumors have it that the Lakers are cashing in on "Big Ticket".....IS THIS TRUE. Sthphen A, Greg Anthony, Tim Legler..Somebody give me some feedBack PLZ
Matthew (Plano,TX)
all you do is go around in circles
Matt (Boston)
Softball, Nascar??? What is this, the lightweight edition of the pulse?
Marc (Bristol, CT)
Thanks Jordan. Brent clearly has no understanding of Ben's path in the NBA. Joe Dumars gave Ben big money when no one else believed in him. He and his wife have deep roots in Detroit. He'll be back. Guaran-sheed.
Brian (Grafton, WI)
Not sure I'd have made the comparison, but I guess horse racing and NASCAR use horsepower to propel humans.
Dari Nowkhah (1:21 PM)
Good point, Brian.
Jordan Gill (Lambertville, Michigan)
At a boy matt.
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
Maybe a softball player can explain this to me: what's up with the running swing? I played baseball for years. I don't see how that can possibly be helpful. And, it leads to those awkward running strikeouts.
Kyle (MN)
To me, Nascar is just 20 or so cars driving around in a circle (technically an oval, but who cares) and besides how can it be considered a sport when anybody with a driver's license can do it
Andrea B. (Putnam, AL)
I have a question for Jeff Gordon. First I want you to know, you is the reason why I started watching NASCAR. Every time when something happen to your car, I'm always crying when you don't finish the race. Is you going to do things better this year than you did last year to get in the chase? If you make the chase or not, you is still my number 1 race car driver.
Evan (Detroit, MI)
People up here can't believe how bad the Pistons were in the past 2 series. Will we see the same starting 5 next year?
Kyle (Cumberland, RI)
Can we send in questions for Brian Roberts?
Matt (Hamilton, Ontario)
Poor Ricky Williams. Further proof that the CFL is more talented then the NFL. *Puts on Flame-Suit*
Dari Nowkhah (1:23 PM)
Yes Kyle... get 'em in!
Sam (Indianapolis)
And we all know what to take Guaran-sheeds for. NOTHING!!!
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
Can we maybe strike 'Guaran-sheed' from the 'ol lexicon?
Kyle (Cumberland, RI)
i'd assume that the running swing constitutes what a drag bunt is to baseball. Thats what i was told by a softball player.
Matt (Boston)
My BOY MARK LORETTA GETS THE VOTE!
Wingo (Deptford, NJ)
Brian Roberts is up......ZZZZZZZZZZZ
Matthew (Plano,TX)
The orielos are going to have a hit-athon i mean the big unit has became the old rusty unit
Marc (Bristol, CT)
Really Sam? Funny, I wouldn't have expected that from a Pacers fan. Seems his guarantees mean something down there. Have the Pacers beat the Pistons since Rik Smits retired?
Dave (New yorK)
Hey, Brian Roberts ineptitude in the field is the only reason the Yanks won, so back off Wingo!
jason (bethpage new york)
The giants and mets game is rained out. That stinks for barry bonds!
Dave (New yorK)
Big Unit is gonna tear it up again.. he's back in stride after last start, and pitching against the sorry O's is only gonna help him
Dave (New yorK)
Why does it stink? He plays in 1 outa 3 anyways, and with some rainouts, those two he misses wont even affect the team
Kyle (MN)
The only thing more sorry than the O's are the Yanks
Brian (Grafton, WI)
Was Randy Johnson tipping his pitches like Brad Lidge?
Sam (Indianapolis)
Thank you Brian ROberts, last season you definetly helped my fantasy team.
Dave (New yorK)
Maybe the WINGO ate your baby..
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
2 Mets games today and I get neither on TV. A travesty.
Jordan Gill (Lambertville, Michigan)
the big unit didn't look so bad against the best team in baseball. Cough the tigers cough*.
Mark (Pittsburgh)
Someone almost made a baseball comment that wasn't about NY or Boston! If you watch enough sports TV you might forget all the other teams exist.
Brian (Grafton, WI)
Sounds like a satellite phone.
Wingo (Deptford, NJ)
Oh boy, Stanley Cup talk...what next, the Pro Bowlers Tour with Dick Weber?
Brian (Grafton, WI)
He can check out Sesame Street Live. That's how you spend 8 days off, man!
Brian (Grafton, WI)
If we're talking PBA, we're talking with Pete Weber. The Pulse doesn't mess around.
Matt (Boston)
Oilers take the series in 6. GO OILERS!
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
lord stanley fact: his voice is on the oldest existing recording. no kidding.
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
That's a hockey player's grill if I've ever seen one...
Dave (New yorK)
Jordan, you take consolation in the fact your "best team" got wiped out by.. what did someone call him.. "the big rusty unit"?
Wingo (Deptford, NJ)
This is gonna be a great Stanley Cup this year...who is it again, Deadwood vs. Tombstone?
Greg (New Jersey)
The *cough* best team in baseball *cough* hasn't looked to good against the better teams in baseball.
Steve Bunin (1:39 PM)
Great point Greg -- DET's schedule has been pretty fluffy so far. we'll see what happens in june and july without Maroth. I got to interview Jim Leyland yesterday on the HOT LIST, and the good thing is, he won't take losing. He'll quit if they're bad, and I mean that in a GOOD way.
Nick (St. Johns, MI)
Really it doesn't matter if the Tigers can keep winning...just as long as the White Sox and Indians keep losing
Wingo (Deptford, NJ)
Thank God Phillies management chose Charlie Manuel (Charlie from Mayberry) over a proven winner like Jim Leyland...nothing beats 120 years of losing seasons...
James Seattle,WA
The Mariners need to fire Hardgrove he he doesn't care about winning. Hecontinues to make bad decisions. Eddie G. needs to be traded or sent to triple a, Mateo sucks, Beltre, Sexton need to be benched until they learn how to hit again, and whats up with Ichiro, did he leave everything on the field over the summer with the wbl?
Brian (Grafton, WI)
Excellent - Equal phone time for both NHL candidates.
Joe (NJ)
until today i was not aware about the nhl playoffs
Billy (Michigan)
Who will be the rookie of the year in the MLB is papelbon gonna take it or maybe zumya or verlander?
Steve Bunin (1:46 PM)
Billy - where you at in Michigan? I worked at TV stations in both Lansing and Kalamazoo. You've got to assume it's Paplebon unless somebody blows up in the 2nd Half, and JP falls apart. In Boston, perfect on saves, mohawk? Fuggetdabboutit.
Brian (Grafton, WI)
The difference between the 1997 Tigers and this year's version is that losing the last game of a series is just not good enough anymore.
Troy (Chicago)
Those dang Tigers...
Greg (Wilmington, DE)
Jeff Gordon is the second greatest Nascar driver in the history of the sport(only to Richard Petty). If you put Petty in with the competition there is today, we would be calling Jeff Gordon the greatest racer in the history of the sport.
Dave (New yorK)
THANK YOU GREG!!!
Camoui( Ft.Lauderdale FL,)
This Question is for LIsa Leslie. Since it is the 10 anniversary of the WNBA, Congrats by the way, maybe u should dunk.say um today versus the Liberty, or anytime, but that would be a great 10 Anniversary gift for the WNBA FAns
Brian (Grafton, WI)
I want to know what the most ridiculous prediction an opponent ever made before fighting Antonio Tarver.
Lauren (Texas)
what year was it that the maple leafs is spelled wrong on the stanley cup?
Steve Bunin (1:49 PM)
Lauren - who could forget: 1964, the Toronto Maple Leafs was spelled Toronto Maple Leaes. OUCH.
Jeremy (Fredericksburg VA)
I'm not a racing fan at all, but indy car racing is better than nascar.
Billy (Michigan)
i live in farmington like 1 hour and a half from lansing
Mark (Pittsburgh)
Don't dunk unless it is a real dunk, though. None of that over-hyped layup stuff that ESPN kept playing from last years college dunk contest.
Nick (St. Johns, MI)
How can you say that Gordon is BETTER than Earnhardt?
Portland, Oregon
All I got to say is Antonio Tarver is one bad dude! I never heard of the dude until about a week ago I saw him on HBO beating another bad dude Roy Jones. I thought Roy was bad turns out he got nothing on Tarver!
Steve Bunin (1:52 PM)
Farmington, MI rocks. And Nick in St. John's, MI? What's shaking in the Wolverine State, boys? Go Mendon High School.
Mike Krzyzewski (Duke)
I bet none of you people can spell my last name right without looking it up.
Dan Adrian, Michigan
I think Oilers are going to win the stanley cup. The Sabres would have whipped Carolina but they had their four star defensemen hurt. If that wouldnt have been the case Buffalo would have won.
Kyle (MN)
That picture on the ESPN front page of the Stanley Cup makes it look like something out of Lord of the Rings
Jon (Brick, Nj)
Hey Buster Olney do you think that the Yankees with go out and get anyone with everyone that his hurt and on the DL?
Billy (Michigan)
I think the Pistons need to get a scoring center to be a real 5 man team!!
Brian (Grafton, WI)
The Pulse continues to be the venue athletes choose to showcase the cutting edge of fashion.
Wingo (Deptford, NJ)
Can someone put some talc on Antonio Tarver's head please?!? My car wax doesn't produce a shine that bright....
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
does his shirt say bartlepool?
JD -- Austin, Texas
What will Antonio Tarver prove in beating up an over-the-hill, blown-up, 40 year old ex-middleweight champion? How about a rematch with Glen Johnson, or a fight with Joe Calzaghe or even Jeff Lacy?
Brian (Grafton, WI)
Why would they think he's gone Hollywood with those shades?
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
any word on if they'r going to get the mets-giants games in today?
James Seattle,WA
I don't care if Tarver proves anything, just as long as he shuts up Hopkins like he did Jones ! I hope Tarver punish's Hopkins before he knocks him out !
Billy (Michigan)
were did u go steve
Steve Bunin (2:02 PM)
Sorry Pulsites - I got nostalgic and was on the websites for two minor league baseball teams in Michigan: the former B.Creek Yankees (now D-Rays) and the indy league Kalamazoo Kings. Lansing Lugnuts are next.
Sal (south philly)
can we post some notices about how much we really want bonds to get out of baseball
Jeremy (Fredericksburg VA)
The Yankees should sign Alfonso Soriano back after this season. The guy is a offensive powerhouse.
Tim (Harrisburg)
How about some props for that Ryan Howard of the phillies. Now all we need is some pitching and a manager
Ryan (Fargo)
I don't want Bonds out of baseball (although it looks like his age might be catching up with him) I want him OFF ESPN! Enough is enough, if this was 5 years ago, it might be interesting. Now it is just drivel.
Wingo (Deptford, NJ)
Nice shooting last night Detroit...the people in the first ten rows should've been given hard hats...
David (Kansas City)
Royals in '09! Dayton will be the savior!
Jeremy (Fredericksburg VA)
Barry Bonds should stay and break Aarons record. He's made it too far to walk away now.
Dave (New yorK)
That'd be a great promotion for a team with Detroit visiting - Ben Wallace Airball-Hard Hats Night!
Sal (south philly)
careful what you wish for Ryan (fargo) He is a distraction to the game and his records are a sham
Brian (Grafton, WI)
Heat fans had a white-out, the Pistons had a wipe-out.
Cameron, Canada
Ryan Smyth or Rod Brindy.... who would you rather have wearing the 'C'?
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
Is there an NBA coach with funnier footage out there than Mike D'antoni celebrating his Italian league championship, sporting a perfect Magnum PI moustache, sans shirt, wearing the 80s style plumb-smugglers?
Steve Bunin (2:10 PM)
I'd take Rod -- how can you go against him? So tough, so battle-tested.
Billy (Michigan)
cuz he cant even walk out to the field
jason (bethpage new york)
Wake me up when the mets and giants game is on.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!
jason (bethpage new york)
Man ricky, Your like a barry bonds in football!
Victor alexandria,la.
lisa leslie will you be my best friendforever.and do you stay in touch with diana taurasi by phone?
Dave (New yorK)
Yeah, and Knicks win next year. Thank God for Nate Robinson!!!
Matthew (Plano,TX)
The jet needs to refuel for tonight so we don't go to a game 7
Brian (Grafton, WI)
Um, guys, no one was talking about Bonds until you brought him up.
Billy (Michigan)
seems like ryan howard hits a hr every game
Shane (Wabash, IN)
Dodgers are hot! They are only going to get better when everyone is healthy. Watch out NL West!
Dave (New yorK)
seems like kyle farnsworth blows a lead every game
Brian (Grafton, WI)
Brewers are fading fast, swept in 4 games by the Pirates? Inexcuseable.
jason (bethpage new york)
I would think that they would handoff more to someone who came from the NFL. But no! What did you think steve?
Marc (Bristol)
OK, hang on here. Ricky smokes dope, Pete Rose bet on baseball games. One jeapordizes the integrity of the game, the other jeapordizes the integrity of Ricky's urine. There's a difference.
Jeremy (Fredericksburg VA)
What's the latest on Larry Brown. Has he been bought out yet or what?
Wingo (Deptford, NJ)
Mr. Braeden looks neither young nor restless...
Dave (New yorK)
Who cares? Does anyone actually believe with a field this wet Barry Bonds will risk his already ruined knee?
Larry (Baltimore area)
Lose Bonds in a heartbeat Go Pujols
Marc (Bristol)
Now that's funny.
Jeremy (Fredericksburg VA)
I agree Wingo. Especially on Rasheed's shot that hit the side of the backboard.
Jeremy (Fredericksburg VA)
The yankees have rallied well, since Sheffield, and Matsui went down. Must be the great play by Melky Cabrera and Andy Phillips.
Kevin (Macon, GA)
Hey Lisa, when are we going to see Chamique Holdsclaw back on the court for the Sparks?
Steve Bunin (2:18 PM)
Kevin - great call. Nobody seems to know. We're gonna ask her that.
Brian (Grafton, WI)
It was a pre-season game, you don't want to get the cash cow hurt. But you do want him remembering all the plays. So I'd say he's off to a good start.
jason (bethpage new york)
Happy Birthday Pronk!
Ben (D-Town, MI)
Tigers are going all the way this year! And they're only going to get better. Free-agents will be flying here like crazy in the off-season. Go Tigers!
Zach (Montezuma,IA)
The Tigers won't even win the Al Central! The White Sox will be the quiet powerhouse!
Jeff (Metro Detroit)
Yeah ok Zach... sounds like someone has a bad case of montezuma's revenge down there
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
hahah, Braeden won't let Dari go. Hilarious.
Wingo (Deptford, NJ)
England's Peter Crouch is the Shawn Bradley of international soccer...
Matt (Boston)
Chris Berman + Soccer = Very interesting.
Brian (Grafton, WI)
I think Berman's got his footballs confused.
Wingo (Deptford, NJ)
Gotta love Boomer...
Billy (Michigan)
back back back back gooonnee
Brian (Grafton, WI)
That had to be hard to dig up all of that World Cup footage.
Matt (Boston)
Its not hard for ESPN, they have everything.
Brian (Grafton, WI)
Are there any unusual items in the vending machines at the ESPN campus? Reggie bars or anything like that?
Steve Bunin (2:31 PM)
Vending machines are normal, but the cafeteria here is pretty cool. There's a full (human) size PSP game, some cool stuff on the walls (memorabilia) and it brings us each, I hope, smiles every time we get a bite to eat.
jason (bethpage new york)
Hey steve, how much you wanna bet that the mets game will be cancled?
Zach (Montezuma,IA)
What type of footage don't you guys have in Bristol?
Steve Bunin (2:34 PM)
J - $0. Zach -- almost everything. Sometimes it's hard to find stuff b/c the tape vault is so huge, but with enough time, they can usually get any sports video.
Al (Buffalo)
Edmonton should beat the Hurricanes in 4 games. I mean, the Hurricanes stuggled with the Sabres missing four of their best defensemen!!!!
Billy (Michigan)
since i am a michigan guy can u hook me up with a job @ espn in like 5 years?
Steve Bunin (2:40 PM)
Ha! Heck no, BIlly! You gotta earn it, just like the rest of us!!!!!
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
wow, someone get larry rawson a cool drink.
Zach (Montezuma,IA)
Shouldn't UCLA Softball be in the winner's pool in the Winer's Pool?
Jaden (St.Croix, USVI)
do the sportscasters and the retired platers who work for espn hang around out together
Steve Bunin (2:42 PM)
Hey jaden --- absolutely. We all talk sports, and most of the anchors will go to the former players/coaches for tips on what to expect, what to watch for, etc... plus, we hang out in the cafeteria, and occasionally, you'll be on the treadmill in the gym, and you look to your left, and friggin B.J. Armstrong is running right beside you! It's pretty crazy. Almost all of them are still in peak shape.
Don (Dublin, Ohio)
Why is ESPN wasting its time showing soccer? I thought they only showed REAL sports!!
Toasty (Hartford)
Real Sports like X-Box championships, you mean?
Brian (Grafton, WI)
Lisa Leslie setting up her NASCAR career with the McDonald's mention.
Jack (Jerusalem, Israel)
yeah, because hockey is a "real" sport
Anthony (Raleighwood)
Oilers in 4? The Canes have the best PP % in the playoffs. This series goes 6 with the Canes sadly winning it all in Edmonton
brian (wisconsin)
now that shag and company have taken care of former champs they can focus on winning the nba title . the western conference is toast!!! go heat and nobody will stand in the way of the best team in the nba
The Pulse (2:50 PM)
Aaron Boulding is up next to talk video games! Send him your questions!
Ryan (Richboro, Pennsylvania)
is iverson geting traded or what
Steve Bunin (2:54 PM)
Ryan - I think Billy King will listen to offers. Clearly, they've gone as far as they can with AI running the show. But the problem is -- how do you get equal value? Who's gonna give up a younger top-10 player for A.I. and all of what he brings with him? Dude can ball, but is it worth it? You have to be near title contention, then give up one of your key parts, to add A.I.
Zach (Montezuma,IA)
Aaron, MVP NCAA Baseball 2006 seems more popular than I thought it was going to be. Why is that?
Derrick Jones (Puyallup, Washington)
Why are they alwayz exspensive?
Alex (Brooklyn)
Off-topic, why do NFL kickers drop kick? No extra points, and it's harder.
Derrick Jones (Puyallup, Washington)
Video games will make you get fat!!!! you should play basketball or a different sport! Why do you guys keep making new things ?
Alex (Brooklyn)
If everybody's so obsessed with a woman dunking, why don't they qualify Marion Jones?
Matt (Boston)
Aaron, How are you at video games, could you take on Dari and steve? I think us pulsites would like to see that.
Steve Bunin (2:56 PM)
Matt - Aaron would SMOKE us. He's unbelievable at this stuff, plays them all the time. Dari's got a baby at home, and my wife would never let me touch a video game again, so we're not the best. Scott Van Pelt plays a ton, and apparently isn't half-bad!
Brian (Grafton, WI)
Has Aaron gotten the chance to play PSP in the ESPN cafeteria?
Jeremy (Fredericksburg VA)
Why was Tim Thomas motivating Dallas's best player? Thats probably why Dirk went for 50 points on the suns.
Al (Buffalo)
The Mets game is being Delayed again!
Patrick (Las Vegas)
What will be some of the new changes for NCAA Football 07
Alex (Brooklyn)
I met Tim Thomas, his tattoes are old, and he shakes your hand hard.
Toasty (Hartford)
Steve,Wouldn't a team like New Orleans or Memphis or Toronto or whoever/wherver they;ve landed lately do well to snag an AI, just to get butts in the seats and build some revenue before making a run, too?Use him as the gimmick he begs to be.. you know?
Steve Bunin (3:01 PM)
Dear "Toasty" -- yes, of course. But who can they give up to GET Iverson? Salaries have to match up. Are you gonna give up Bosh or Villanueva? Hell no. And Philly won't give away A.I. for two overpaid vets. So that's why it won't work for the teams you say.
Billy (Michigan)
steve, kind of off topic.. whats your favorite Beatles song of all time mine has to be sgt. peppers lonely hearts club band.
Steve Bunin (3:03 PM)
Billy - GREAT question. So hard to choose. Top of my head: Penny Lane (great mix of symphony, lyrics, and Paul's singing) ... also, Hello Goodbye, and underrated: Here, There, Everywhere.
Al (Buffalo)
Definitly Yellow Submarine.
Toasty (Hartford)
Hello, Goodbye is a great choice!! I like Strawberry Fields like crazy too.
Chris (Chicago, Illinois)
How can the Sox be a quiet powerhouse? Isn't it hard to win the World Series, retain the same team, and have people forget about you for the next year?
Jeff (Durham, NC)
Don't be sore Wingo just because the Canes put your lil NJ Devils to sleep. You do realize that yesterday was the official start of HURRICANE SEASON? Go Canes!
RT Houston,TX
Jeff Gordon, there seem to be alot of simularities between Bristol, a track you have mastered, and Dover. Can you describe the differrences and simularities? Bump and runs like you have done on Rusty at night 2002 and in the spring of 98 make Bristol the circuit's most thrilling track!
Jeremy (Fredericksburg VA)
Steve, when your not working, do you find yourself watching your colleagues on ESPN all day?
Steve Bunin (3:06 PM)
Not that much. I mean, I'm a sports fan first, so I do watch ESPNews and SportsCenter at home. But also, being here 9-10 hours a day, sometimes you go home, you wanna chill with the wife, or watch a movie. Anything w/Vince Vaughn in it.
jeff (durham nc)
oh blah di oh blah da
Steve Bunin (3:07 PM)
Pulsites - which are your favorite Beatles songs? And let me just add, the classics, Hey Jude, Let It Be, Longand Winding Road -- all, UNBELIEVABLE, but I wanted to go off-chalk w/my response.
Billy (Michigan)
penny lane has to be my 2
jason (bethpage new york)
Your right toasty! I think the answer (allen iverson) would fit perfictly in toronto. After they traded vince carter. Nothing went well.
Moe (Houston, TX)
Magical Mystery Tour, In My Life, A Day in the Life, and Helter Skelter are all classics in my book
jason (bethpage new york)
Mine would have to be let it be. That song is history man!
Billy (Michigan)
revolution that guitar riff is sweet
Sam (Indianapolis)
Definetly I am the Walrus.
MSU (PCR9)
I am the Walrus
Toasty (Hartford)
Off Chalk Beatles tunes:Dig a Pony!!
Billy (Michigan)
she loves you ya ya ya
Al (Buffalo)
Mets still delayed.......
The Pulse (3:16 PM)
Send your comments on Antonio Tarver and boxing in general. You might make it on the show!
Jeremy (Fredericksburg VA)
The Knicks should grant Marbury his wish, and keep him a Knick forever. He's talented enough to be the staple of that franchise. Besides where are you gonna trade him.
Donovon (Boca Raton FL)
Until boxing has a dominate heavy weight hitter it will never be the same!
Brian (Grafton, WI)
Antonio Tarver may not win the match, but he will win the fashion title.
Chris (Middletown, CT)
Antonio Tarver needs to step up in weight class and bring some excitement to the heavyweight division. No one needs another Hopkins fight -- Bernard Hopkins is done as a relevant fighter.
Kyle (Columbus)
They've tried to make boxing exciting with the Contender, but the problem is, those guys are middleweights. Boxing has declined since the decline of heavyweights, that certainly means something!
Donovon (Boca Raton FL)
Also the Tyson drama has finally come to a complete end. There really isnt anything to be exicted about in boxing period!
Toasty (Hartford)
No... Boxing has been in decline since the retirement of Hearns, Leonard Hagler Duran... It was fine in the eighties when the heavyweights were boring and the middle weights had charisma.
Justin (Lloydminster Alberta)
IF any of you Yanks would actually sit down and watch our game of hockey, you might be more interested than a sport where it takes 20mins to throw a pitch or 5 hours to finish the last 30secs of game
Billy (Michigan)
i stopped watchin boxing when tyson retired.. i was looking forward to the coralees fight
Jennifer Mathis (Battle Creek, MI)
I'm not into boxing, I'm getting ready to watch the Busch race in Dover, I don't know if they'll get the whole race in for they are dodgeing rain drops.
Toasty (Hartford)
If any of you Canadians would perform in ANYTHING other than Hockey, we might start to listen to you.
Chris (Middletown, CT)
I wouldn't say there's "nothing" exciting in boxing. The middleweight division is filled with talented fighters, and the lightweight division has the ongoing excitement (and controvery) of Castillo-Corrales... it's just the heavyweights that can't get their act together.
Donovon (Boca Raton FL)
Boxing cleary needs a charismatic heavy weight. Doesnt matter age or color, if we had a 6'2 245 pound white boy whippen some butt. Boxing would be off the charts in the USA!
Matt (Boston)
Antonio Tarver quickly became one of my favorite boxers.
Shane (Wabash, IN)
is that Tarver or David Chapelle?
Jennifer Mathis (Battle Creek, MI)
You all have a great weekend and I'll be back in here next Saturday.
The Pulse (3:29 PM)
Send your comments now on Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, New York Yankees and anything else MLB and you could be on air during Buster Olney's upcoming segment.
Alex (Brooklyn)
Hopkins-Tarver they need this on ABC every night, but Boxing is never on TV.
Wingo (Deptford, NJ)
Hey Buster, what would the Phillies have to trade to optimize thier chances of getting Dontrelle Willis or Barry Zito?
Brian (Grafton, WI)
What are Bill Hall's chances of making the All-Star team as a utility guy?
Matt (Boston)
Buster, you said Mike Lowell would be a bust this year. I think he has proven doubters wrong. What do you think of him this year?
Alex (Brooklyn)
I consider Maris the single-season homer record setter, the Babe second.
Donovon (Boca Raton FL)
Roger Clemens going to Houston is a pure money move. If he would have went to either NY or Boston he would have had a good chance to win it.
Alex (Brooklyn)
Jen, 32 min. left you're one of the millions from battle creek.
Jeremy (Fredericksburg VA)
Dwyane Wade is not consistent. When I went to see the Wizards play the heat he had only 7 points. Way below his average.
Chris Story (Raleigh, NC)
Preface- not a local. All this talk about Edmonton in 6 and 4 by people from Michigan and Buffalo...simply put sour grapes. Canes are deeper and have played hockey prior to Memorial day...Canes in 5.
Matt (Boston)
Antonio has hollywood written all over him.
Jaden (St.Croix, USVI)
does anyone honestly want to see another rocky movie
mario, gilroy, ca
Antonio, Do you feel if you win this fight you'll be recognized as the best fighter in the world today?
Josh Indiana pa
what will be the best video game this year
Alex (Brooklyn)
Look at Tarver, roll your eyes, he looks like Michael Jordan.
mark johnstown p.a
Which players will be traded at the deadline?
Jaden (St.Croix, USVI)
or that dark
Matt (Boston)
I love Tarvers cocky style.
Alex (Brooklyn)
Why are these people 120 pounds looking like starved people out there.
Matt (Boston)
Come next week, Tarver will show us a a great display.
Jeremy (Fredericksburg VA)
Dwyane Wade is Great , but he's not better than Gilbert Arenas. He just plays on a better team.
Greg (Wilmington, DE)
Jeff Gordon is better than Earnhardt because he outraces his opponents and doesn't wreck them to get his victories. Gordon EARNED his 73 victories a lot quicker than Earnhardt GOT his 76 victories. When Gordon retires, he'll have more victories and most likely more championships won than Earnhardt and will be considered the second greatest Nascar driver of all time.
Alex (Brooklyn)
I don't care about boxing. Lightweights should rethink that they're losing weight just for boxing. Plus boxing's never on!!!!! When???? Come on!!!!! We can't watch it!!!!!!
Zach (Montezuma,IA)
Boxing isn't dead, but we can call it seriously injured. Back in the day, you had Ali, Foreman, just to name a couple. Now, you don't have many household names, and boxing is no longer a major sport.
Sam (Indianapolis)
Zbikowski is my favorite boxer.
Steve Bunin (3:34 PM)
Zbikowski was featured in The Sporting News this week -- did you see that, Pulsites? But don't forget, we had him first!
Jennifer Mathis (Battle Creek, MI)
Buster My question for you is why did some people see the tiger/yankee game on ESPN back on June 1st and some didn't or do you know?
Shane (Wabash, IN)
Buster,Will the Dodgers trade for any big names at the deadline?
Alex (Brooklyn)
How come all these messages pop up, that were never on, when they show every message i nthe box when they were supposed to be?
Steve Bunin (3:34 PM)
Alex - who knows? I can barely log on to the "net" sometimes.
Matt (Boston)
It was clemens, then Zito, now dontrelle, what other hot rumors are out there for the yankees and Sox?
jason (bethpage new york)
speaking of the yankees.... I like them but what is the big deal of jeter hitting 2000 hits. So what! Some players have more than 3000 hits.
Jaden (St.Croix, USVI)
all baseball records are hard to compare and legitimize because there are deadball records and records that were set when the mound was higher. also some of these records are aided because baseball has alot more games than it used to have
Alex (Brooklyn)
Jason, Jeter's only 31!!!!!!
Zach (Montezuma,IA)
I hope Pujols breaks Bonds's 73....Bonds wants him to, too!
Matt (Boston)
I wouldnt give up much for kerry wood either.
Donovon (Boca Raton FL)
MAVS - SUNS.. What a great series. Have a good weekend everyone!
Jaden (St.Croix, USVI)
the point is all important records were set when a player takes all of the advantage that are around him and supplements that with his talent. just take a look at the important records
Nick (Dover, Pa)
Retire, please Barry. You've ruined baseball enough.
Josh (Indiana PA)
Barry will come back next year but with the athletics!
jason (bethpage new york)
Man, Barry, barry, barry. You should of retired this year and you know it!
Jaden (St.Croix, USVI)
whoever gets Mark Prior is going to get a steal once he heals up he is going to be great again
scott (TINLEY PARK)
Why does everybody single out Bonds, I'm sure he's not the only one that was using in this era .
Toasty (Hartford)
Jaden, that is like the third or fourth time you've made me laugh today.
Nick (Dover, Pa)
If Atlanta doesn't do something they;ll be saying goodbye to the division. They are losing games left and right at 90% full health.
Jeremy (Fredericksburg VA)
It feels like the last time Prior pitched was about 10 years ago.
Josh (Indiana Pa)
Prior should just retire before he gets to old for the game!
The Pulse (3:54 PM)
Everyone, Buster Olney is going to be answering your questions right now! Stay tuned in! That will be the last segment today .. thanks for joining us! We'll be back next week at the same time with special guest Bill Cowher! So all you Steelers fans, don't miss it!
