Rahman faces Maskaev Saturday at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, live on HBO PPV, starting at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
Saturday's fight will be the second fight between the two heavyweights. In 1999, Maskaev rallied late and slammed Rahman with an overhand right in the eighth to the head that sent him through the ropes.
Hasim, an 11-year pro, won the WBC interim heavyweight title in August 2005 with a 12-round decision over Monte Barrett. He then defended his title in a 12-round draw against James Toney on March 18 of this year. The Baltimore native owns a record of 41-5-2, with 33 knockouts.
