A hard hitting linebacker who started all 13 games for a talented FSU defense last season, Davis ranked second on the team in tackles with 91 behind fellow linebacker A.J. Nicholson. Also ranked third on the team in tackles for loss with 10.5 and recorded a career-high with 13 tackles in the NC State game. Davis had 10 stops in the Orange Bowl vs. Penn State.

Booker appeared in all 13 games with three starts in 2005. He led the Seminoles in yards (552), rushing touchdowns (4), attempts (119), and average yards per game (42.5). He also finished third on the team with 38 catches, totaling 329 yards, including a 71-yard touchdown catch and run against Syracuse that marked FSU's second-longest scoring play from scrimmage.

Buster Davis (1:01 PM)
I'm here!
Kevin (Abilene, TX)
Buster, describe how it feels to be recognized as the emotional leader for Mickey Andrew's defense? What special responsibilities do you intend to manage heading into your senior season?
Buster Davis (1:02 PM)
Not special. I just have everyday responsiblities to lead this team. If we are having a bad practice it's my job to get everybody to step up. It feels good being the emotional leader.
Kris- Delray Beach,FL
Does the fact that the Univ. of Miami will be playing without some key starters due to suspensions Sept. 4th change your preparation at all? or even a bit mentally? Go Noles!
Buster Davis (1:03 PM)
It doesn't change anything at all. Miami has many great players just sitting in the wings ready to play. They have plenty of guys ready to make their mark so we have to prepare the same no matter who is out there.
Don Tallahassee, Florida
What advice would you guys give to someone who is looking to walk-on to the FSU football team?
Buster Davis (1:05 PM)
You are going to go through some hard times and frustrating moments but if you stick it out, you will be OK at the end. We have a million walk on's every year but you just have to stick it out and give it your best. The scout team offense has it pretty rough but you know how it goes. You just have to be very headstrong and give it your all.
Daniel: Louisville, CO
We've seen the Booker Twins for a few years so now will we be seeing the "Buster Twins" at the games?
Buster Davis (1:05 PM)
I wish I had me some twins! I don't have any twins. I only have one beutiful woman I've been dating for three years now. No twins. I was not fortunate enough to have twins like Booker.
Mike: Tallahassee, Fl
Who hits harder.....you or Timmons?
Buster Davis (1:06 PM)
It's me, man! All the way! Timmons is a very good hitter though. He is one of the better ones I've seen. But I definitely hit harder.
david Telluride, Colorado
Buster, After a few scrimmages what is the biggest difference you see in this years FSU offense as compared to last years?
Buster Davis (1:07 PM)
Maturity. Self confidence. They are very confident. Their attitude is a 180 degree difference from last year. They are very scrappy and competing at a championship level already. It's always encouraging to see that.
portsmouth virginia
are we going to blitz more
Buster Davis (1:08 PM)
I'm not quite sure how coach will gameplan it. It's an every week thing. We may do it some weeks to make things happen but other weeks it might not be in our best interest. It just depends on what we see. We'll surely blitz but how much depens on coach.
Goose (Chicago)
Is it difficult to get up for easy games...ie Duke?
Buster Davis (1:09 PM)
It's never hard. You have to get up every week. Is it harder? Yes. But not hard. Duke is not one of the better teams in the country but they are no slouch. They have played us tough in the past. So we can't ingore them. It is harder for the younger players though. They tend to go all out for the bigger teams and not so much for the lesser teams.
Sean WI
C'mon Buster, tell me you don't notice Jenn Sterger over in the stands at games?
Buster Davis (1:12 PM)
I remember before the Citadel game coach took us out at halftime. I was messing around and heard my name. I was like "Who is that right there?". I was like "goodness". I wanted to go where she came from. She's an amazing girl. I never see her around campus though.
Howard: Tallahassee, FL
Which defense do you prefer, 3-4, 4-3 or even 5-2?
Buster Davis (1:15 PM)
The 3-4 gives you a lot of opportunities to do things and the 4-3 is more of a run stop type defense. But me personally, I just want to be on the field. It makes no difference to me. I can adapt to whatever is in front of me. I guess if I had the choice I would take the 4-3.
Rhonda (Pittsburgh, PA)
The Wall Street Journal had an article about FSU being the No. 1 school in terms of producing quality NFL players. What makes Florida State so successful at putting out really good pro players?
Buster Davis (1:18 PM)
The program. The FSU program has been at a high level for so long. Coach Bowden came in just at the right time. Florida never had a big time program up until that point. The state didn't have that national exposure. You might as well say that we are a NFL program in college. It shows with the players we produce every year. For the WSJ to research that and lay it out is great. We have the best defensive staffs in the country and then one of the greatest offensive staffs right behind it. Why would you want to go to any other school? Last year was a down year, but we'll be back. The other thing is we don't produce players that play for 1 or 2 years and then are out of th league, we produce guys that have long NFL careers. I hope I'm one of those guys.
Brett (jacksonville, fl)
Who would you rather beat, UF or Miami?
Buster Davis (1:18 PM)
I want to beat every last team out there. I don't want to beat just one or two. I have no interest in beating one more than the other. I want to beat them all. What about you guys?
Jayme (Cincinnati, OH) '98 FSU Alumni
What do you love the best about FSU? Coach, the team, campus, stadium, co-eds, etc?
Buster Davis (1:19 PM)
Just the overall college experience. You can't' get that experience anywhere else. It is such a top notch program. I can tell you what it is like to run out of that tunnel and play for Bowden but you just don't know. It's amazing.
Buster Davis (1:19 PM)
By the way, I wish I had just one-tenth of the talent Tiger Woods has. Man.
Frank: Miami, Fl
Does the defense as a whole get up more for night games on ESPN? Also, how bad do you want to payback Clemson this year at home at night on ESPN?
Buster Davis (1:20 PM)
I like the old school games at Noon during the day in the hot sun. I like to come out at Miami at 12. It's crazy.
Sean (Pittsburgh)
Buster, who is your favorite NFL team?
Buster Davis (1:21 PM)
Baltimore Ravens. I'm a huge Ray Lewis fan. Huge.
Quentin (Atlanta, GA)
Will you be play on the inside or the outside this season?
Buster Davis (1:21 PM)
Both.
Buster Davis (1:21 PM)
Where do you think I should play?
James
I do not care of we only win one game a year as long as it is against Florida.
Buster Davis (1:22 PM)
Thanks, James.
Travis (Indiana State)
Are you one of those guys who follows a strict diet or do you just kind of wing it?
Buster Davis (1:22 PM)
I follow a strict diet. We have a dietician. Josh Hingst tells me what I can eat.
7th Grader (Seattle DAWG!!!)
how good of a leader was Drew Weatherford last year and how much will he improve this year?
Buster Davis (1:23 PM)
He was young. But this year he is going to really turn it around and show everyone how to win a championship. He has done a phenomenal job and elevated the game of everyone around him.
Paul (Grand Rapids, MI)
Buster you do realize Ray Lewis went to Miami right?
Buster Davis (1:24 PM)
I do know that.
Andy (Spartanburg, SC)
Other than Doak, where is the loudest stadium you have played?
Buster Davis (1:24 PM)
Clemson. It was crazy.
Tom (Chicago)
I saw in the Sporting News you said you like to listen to Miles Davis and Jay-Z. Do you listen to both before your games?
Buster Davis (1:25 PM)
I like Jigga before games. Miles Davis is more when I get back to the house. I don't bring Miles to the games.
Shane (Tallahassee, FL)
I think Steel should move you all over the place to make it harder for offenses to account for you. I am with you though, I want to beat everyone.
Buster Davis (1:25 PM)
That's what we're gonna do, Shane!
Cole (Tallahassee)
You going to be hitting Chubby's up with LT this fall after we win every week?
Buster Davis (1:26 PM)
Nah, I'm not a Chubby's guy. I may hit the Moon.
Buster Davis (1:27 PM)
Thanks for the questions! I really appreciate it. I hope to see you all at the Miami game! Support the Noles! We are going to win a championship this year! Lorenzo is coming up next ..
Lorenzo Booker (1:27 PM)
Hello everyone!
Cole(UT)
Lorenzo, In the past you've been spliting time with Leon Washington, hows it feel to THE guy?
Lorenzo Booker (1:29 PM)
Great! There is some sadness though. Leon Washington was my best friend. It's sad that he isn't here. And there are positives about splitting time. We motivated each other. But it's exciting for me to get a chance to do what he didn't get to do. I'm very excited about the season.
John (tallahassee, fl)
Do you think we should rush the field after we go 12-0 with our last win at home over UF?
Lorenzo Booker (1:29 PM)
Definitely! I'll meet you at the 50!
Nate (charleston, sc)
Who did you watch growing up(RBs)?
Lorenzo Booker (1:30 PM)
Barry Sanders is my favorite. He did a lot with little help. Bo Jackson also. I didn't get into college backs until I got older. I loved Lawrence Phillips for a little while.
Shane (Tallahasee)
Who do you hate worse, Miami or Florida? Why?
Lorenzo Booker (1:31 PM)
Florida for sure. It's not contest. I'm watching the Florida-FSU game from 1995 right now.
Emerson Biggins, Jacksonville, Fl
Can't wait to see you run this year. How are the legs feeling after two-a-days in the Florida heat?
Lorenzo Booker (1:31 PM)
Doing pretty good actually. I don't get as many reps as I normally get since we are getting towards the end. I don't want to get any crazy injuries.
Harris (Jacksonville, FL)
Lorenzo, will you (running game) see more touches this year compared to last year and will they try to get you outside more in order to utilize your speed and agility?
Lorenzo Booker (1:33 PM)
Most definitely. We have a few new plays designed to get me to the perimeter. Everybody knows what kind of season we had last year so the main focus has been to have a better output and I expect to get a lot of touches because of that.
Josh (cocoa beach)
how do you feel starting the season againt one of the top D's in the nation?
Lorenzo Booker (1:33 PM)
I love it. Whether you play a tough defense at the beginning or the middle, nobody takes you serious until you beat a top defense or a team of the caliber of Miami. A win like that can really help your confidnece early on.
Aaron (tallahassee)
Do you think we can have our own Thunder and Lightning combo with you and Antone this year? Who would be thunder/lightning?
Lorenzo Booker (1:34 PM)
I don't think it would be thunder and lighting. More like lighting and lightning. We both have the same kind of style.
Vinny (Richmond, VA)
maybe you can solve this debate.....harder hitter, LT or Buster?
Lorenzo Booker (1:35 PM)
Man .. that's tough .. Buster has hit me the hardest of anybody ever. But I've seen Timmons crush some folks. That's a tie.
Jamil (Tallahassee)
Do you get a chance to eat Gutheries during the season, or do ou have a strict diet that you stick to?
Lorenzo Booker (1:35 PM)
No Guthries! My girlfriend got on me about that yesterday. She said if she catches me there it's over. She's a health food freak.
Matt (Palm Beach, FL) FSU Alum '05
What is the worst you have ever beat anyone in Techno Bowl.
Lorenzo Booker (1:36 PM)
I play the 21 point rule. Boulware came over one time my freshman year and I was up 21 points after the first quarter. I have put up 60 points on some folks. But I usually don't keep playing if it gets out of hand.
DJ (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
Did you get a chance to see Leon take it to the house Saturday? Show the world that you & the Noles are for real this year! Go Noles.
Lorenzo Booker (1:37 PM)
Oh yeah! I stayed up for that! It's always nice to see him do good again. I've never learned more from another player. There is no better display of mental toughness than Leon Washington.
Richard (Tampa)
Are we going to see more of the spread offense this year? Seems to me with you in the Warrick Dunn role and Weatherford able to survey the field, the offense would be much improved.
Lorenzo Booker (1:38 PM)
Sure. I think you will see a lot of everything. Guys will be put in better situations this year. You'll see a lot of spread, i formation, etc. The TEs will get used more.
Rob (Naples, FL)
Be honest, did Buster talk too much at the ACC Media Days?
Lorenzo Booker (1:38 PM)
No! We have to represent FSU well! It was fun. You have to make that kind of stuff fun because it will get real boring real fast. It was a joint effort.
Mike (Toledo, OH)
Are we gonna see the backflip on Labor day again this year?
Lorenzo Booker (1:39 PM)
After a victory? For sure. You might get a back handspring too.
Shane (Tampa)
Are you satisfied with your ranking on NCAA 07?
Lorenzo Booker (1:39 PM)
Not really. No. They made my ball control very low. I only fumbled one time last year and it was controversial.
Dave (Wolcott, CT)
How about answering for a nole fan outside of Florida! Who is the unsung player on the team that gets no credit. Thanks.
Lorenzo Booker (1:40 PM)
Offensively it would be Chris Davis. He doesn't get enough credit. He's so explosive.
Buzzmaster (1:51 PM)
Hey everyone .. we had some technical difficulties there and had to let Lorenzo go .. we apologize .. but he want to give a shout out to his sis Malia .. hello Malia! We'll resked and get Lorenzo back on during the season .. maybe after he smokes Miami for 150 yards?
