Jeremy Green (4:04 PM)
Sorry for the delay, I was over on the AFC West Chat block. I am in the hot seat and ready to go.
Majeed (From Daygo to the Bay)
JG, As you are reading this, I am somewhere on 5 North heading up to the Bay Area for a wedding. I'm sure all the haters are happy I won't be joining the chat today. GO FINS!!!
Jeremy Green (4:05 PM)
I have a few questions Majeed. #1 why would your peeps get married when I am doing my chat. #2 why not fly, I would have hooked you up with some Southwest points. And #3 I can't believe your cheap boss gave you the day off.
Mad Mike (Houston)
JG: Got those Friday meeting moved so let's get going. Well, the crow tasted bad after the Eagles handed the Texans their butts last weekend. It looks like the growing pains are going to be longer than I had hoped. Congrats to Mike in San Deigo (I think) the big Eagles lover for the win. MM
Jeremy Green (4:06 PM)
I thought the Texans showed signs last week. I think they will get better. One thing I didn't like and it is the first week... I thought Carr would have been a little better under Kubiak.
Kidd Raja (Boise, ID)
JG, I hope you take this comment. I couldn't get it in on your AFC West chat. I think the Bronco fans need to chill out on benching Plummer. Have we forgotten how horrible we were with the likes of Griese, Stevie B., Brister and Gus? Not to mention the fact that JP has gotten us to the playoffs 3 yrs. running. Broncomaniacs everywhere, give Jake a break. I'm out...
Jeremy Green (4:06 PM)
Richard (Music City)
JG, in your AFC West Chat you said you talked to someone in SD about the potential Volek trade, do you have any idea what the Titans want back? Is Donnie Edwards too much to ask for?
Jeremy Green (4:08 PM)
San Diego tried that and the Titans originally balked. They hve a solid group of LB's. The Titans are thinking more long term and would like a first day pick (3rd).
AJ Smith (SD)
Come on, Jeremy, you're a good personnel evaluator as well as analyst; you had to notice much improved play of my (whoops, Marty's) secondary. Jammer draped Moss!
Jeremy Green (4:09 PM)
Well Moss was playing at about half speed - oops what else is new. Moss did not want to run - new that Brooks would not have time to throw that 20-yard pass Walsh called for becasue Brooks would be on his back yet again.
Dave, Philly
Jeremy, what is the deal with Robert Gallery? He has just looked completely awful. Coming out, he was a "sure thing" to be a dominant franchise LT. I guess Mort dropped the ball?
Jeremy Green (4:11 PM)
Not sure what Mort said, but everyone had him rated high. I don't know what the deal is, but he has not gotten any stronger at all. I would assume he goes to the weight room, but it sure does not translate to the field.
Jeremy (Bellevue, WA)
So let me know what you think about the Branch move for the Hawks? I think it will allow them to spread the field, 4 wide and create more running lains for SA, and since the WestCoast O is predicated on short passes that allow Wr to get YACs I see it as a good fit. What do you think?
Jeremy Green (4:12 PM)
I love the move. He is not a #1 and I thought they paid a little too high a price, but this is a SB caliber football team that got better with the addition. I agree - his presence will open up the field for everyone.
Drew (Ohio)
Bucs @ Falcons, who ya got
Jeremy Green (4:14 PM)
Well I went 7-9 last week so go opposite. I like the Falcons. The defense is much better than last season. The Bucs have OL issues which leads to them not running the ball well, which puts the game in Simms hands... well that about explains it.
Zach Cincinnati OH
Jeremy do think the Bengals defense is improved enough to make a run at the superbowl this year? What's your thoughts on them this season?
Jeremy Green (4:16 PM)
They looked better last week. Still a little early to tell on the run D because the Chiefs O-line looked really bad last week. I like the Adams addition though - he ate up blocks and let their LB's flow to the ball. As for the SB - because of their offense they are a team that can talk SB.
Russ (San Diego)
Did you forget the Chargers had a defense in picking the Raiders to win last week. Or are you just an unlrealistic Raider fan? What do you see happening in the AFC West from now on? Answer this Hot Seat question!
Jeremy Green (4:17 PM)
Dang Russ - your question is the only one I can see you sent it so many times. No I did not forget about the SD offense. I forgot the Raiders had a OC that was working at a bed and breakfast.
Carlos (LA)
JG, Is it to early to call Gallery a bust?
Jeremy Green (4:18 PM)
Yes it is too early to call Gallery a bust, but he is very disappointing right now. He really looks scared to play, I hate to say that, but this guy intimidated in college. I don't see him playing with any passion right now.
Sean WI
JG what gives? I'm getting tired of pressing the refresh button. Don't they know you take priority on SN and deserve to be on the main page!!!
Jeremy Green (4:19 PM)
they do now.
Mad Mike (Houston)
JG: Our boy, DaMeco Ryans sure looked good last weekend, at leat to me. I know sometimes numbers can be mis-leading, 13 total tackles 12 unassited. I was at the game and where we are on the goal line doesn't lead to being able to breakdown each play very well. You were sitting watching every game, what was your overall grade on him in week 1. Thanks, MM
Jeremy Green (4:20 PM)
A-. He was all over the field. He is only going to get better every week. The speed the range, the effort. A few mental busts, but that is to be expected and he will get that cleaned up as he continues to mature.
BJ (Salt Lake City)
Dolphins go from hyped, Super Bowl sleepers to 8-8. Everyone is down on them after losing to Pit. Once they pulverize Buffalo everyone will change their tune again, right?
Jeremy Green (4:22 PM)
I am not down on them. I still think they win the AFC East . I did not think they would win in the opener and they had a chance to steal that game. They will bounce back at home this week.
Bob, Atl Ga
MY BROTHER!! I have been waiting all day for this!!! You ready to apogolize to your boy for saying my Falcons would not win in CAR? AND my Dline def outplayed Carolina's DLine -2 for 2!! How do you see the game panning out vs TB? - And is John Abraham Playing? - Have a Great weekend my man..
Jeremy Green (4:24 PM)
Here it goes. Bob You are the man. You were right. I am not worthy. It was total domination my man and that crow was not tasty. As for the game I don't see how Tampa can move the ball on this D with a beat up O-line and a banged up Caddy. As for Abraham I hear he will play even if his reps are limited. You can't leave that pas rush standing in street clothes. Have a good weekend.
Aaron Brooks
JG can you give me some love and just answer one of the questions I sent you?
Jeremy Green (4:26 PM)
Yes, you will get sacked another 7X this week.
damien (VA)
Do you feel like I do when I say that Mark Brunell is really holding back the redskins offence from scoring high numbers with his weak arm, happy feet, and inability to throw down field. And do you think that the relationship that Gibbs has with Brunell is preventing the team from doing the same thing that the Giants did with Warner and Eli Manning?
Jeremy Green (4:28 PM)
I do think Brunell is showing his age, but I also think the O-line played bad last week. They are still trying to pick up that delayed LB blitz the Vikes kept sending. As for the relationship I would say no. I think they want Jason Campbell to take over this team, but he is not ready. He is a 2nd year QB that finally learned what they were doing at the end of last season and now he has a new 700 page playbook to get used to.
Jill (Columbus)
How about taking a question from the ladies? Do the Browns have any chance against the Bengals? Will they be able to run the ball?
Jeremy Green (4:30 PM)
Well it is good to see a lady out here today (Soren and Katelyn - wherever you are). No I do not like the Browns this week and I can't beleive Winslow is getting #85 all riled up... not good. The Browns will have some succes eaely with the run, but they will get behind and have to go the air.
Mike (San Diego)
JG...who are you picking, Iggles/Giants. Please say the Giants, please!!!!
Jeremy Green (4:31 PM)
Oh Mike you crack me up. I am going with the Giants this week and not because you want me too. I think the Giants have more talent on both sides of the ball. They have the run game to keep McNabb on the sidelines. Burress will get some man coverage so that gives him a chance to make some plays down field. Close game - great game but I am going with the G-men.
Asher - at my J O B
Grove or Sims came out and said that the lineman were doing completely different things in the game than they had practiced. I've heard that Shell and Co. have had to totally re-teach the line from what previous staffs taught them. Does that account at all for Monday and Gallery looking so bad? Thanks, JG.
Jeremy Green (4:33 PM)
Sorry about the work thing. I could see they were all doing different things, but after all those off-season workouts, mini-camp, the pre-season, it surely does not make it right.
Cayne (Federal Way, WA)
JG... what's your 'upset of the week' prediction? I can't find any underdogs to favor myself except for Washington over Dallas in Big D.
Jeremy Green (4:36 PM)
Best I can come up with is the Giants. I would like to say Carolina will bounce back (Fox 4-0 in week 2 as an HC), but I am not sure they can move the ball without Superman at WR.
Jason (San Diego)
Review: Jeremy Green's week 1 locks NE over Buff and Den over STL. His upsets: Hou over Philly and Oak over SD. You were 1 out of 4, barely. Good Picks! Also I watched the whole game, and I was right. Burgess only lined up opposite right tackle Olivea, never on the other side. In light of these facts, I should have your Job, and salary.
Jeremy Green (4:36 PM)
OK Jason I will appease you since you keep flooding my mailbox... if you want it come and get it.
tom (sacramento)
No offense to your Pops, but if the Cards don't use half their draft picks and FA money next year on O-linemen, that would be stupid, right?
Jeremy Green (4:38 PM)
If there is anyone out there, yes. They wanted to be more aggressive in the OL FA market this year but there was nobody out there to go after. They did draft Lutui. Yes I agree though, they need to keep addressing the O-line.
Travis (Canada)
Greener, I have a situation and need a fellow whipped man opinions! My oldest son from a previous marriage has a senior high school football game tonight @ 7:00p.m, but the current wife is jealous of my children from the previous relationship and will disapprove of my attending the game. But, I want to be there for my son and the fact that he's 6'6, only 15 years old, a starting defensive end, that is bound for college ball has nothing to do with it as well! What would you do, to not have to sleep on the couch for a month?
Jeremy Green (4:40 PM)
Dude go to the game. I sleep on the couch every Friday night when I hang with the Sports Nation crew until 6:00 PM. I am used to it by now.
Adam (Chicago)
Jeremy, Tell Jason if he wants your job, he has to come through here first. I have Jack Johnson and Tom O'Leary waiting for him. On another note, how about Grossman? He has improved week to week.
Jeremy Green (4:41 PM)
I thought he played a real nice game last week. I like that they are stretching the field too - opens up that run game. Real good test for Rex this week. Detroit was solid on D in the opener. Kudos though to Run Turner for opening up the O - loved the imagination last week.
Jamal (Wisconsin)
Ok you just ruined my dad, Asher and I compete to get questions answered. Make up for it by telling me when my boys, (the Titans), will win their first game this year.
Jeremy Green (4:43 PM)
Week 8 after the bye. Sorry Mad Mike but the opponent is.... The Texans. Man they have aq brutal schedule - don't see any wins in there until week 8.
Nick (Peoria)
Whats your take on Roy's guarentee over the Bears? Shouldn't the team at least score a touchdown before callining out a D that shut out Favre for the first time.
Jeremy Green (4:46 PM)
Dang tell Russ to stop flooding my mailbox - I ahad to go back 20 to find a question. I think when you make a guarantee you should be coming off a better game than 3 catches for 36 yards.
Alex Santa Barbara
Jeremy, why is it that all so called "analyst" think they no how a team's season will go after the first week of the season?
Jeremy Green (4:47 PM)
We don't but they pay us to be here and this is my favorite time of the week with you guys so I show up and answer questions. It is just like you said 1 week. You can't get to high or to low on your team after one week (well unless your team is the Raiders).
Vince (Pittsburgh)
Even though the division doesn't get that much attention, do you think that the AFC North is a Legit Contender for the best division in football?
Jeremy Green (4:48 PM)
Yes, two great teams and a team in Baltimore that appears to be back with a legit QB and excellent defense. Even the Browns in the cellar will play hard and give you their best shot every Sunday. It is an excellent Division.
Dan (SD)
JG, why is AJ Smith thinking of trading Edwards for Volek? I still think Donnie's a little too valuable to the team this year.
Jeremy Green (4:49 PM)
They are really wanting to get Cooper on the field. They just gave him a long term contract and they feel he can step in and play right now.
Katy (TN)
JG--If your mailbox is getting flooded, you probably didn't my question. Will the Chargers turn Rivers loos on the Titan's secondary since we gave up 300+ yards to the Jets?
Jeremy Green (4:52 PM)
I think they will open up the offense more this week and they should. They are back at home and they need to keep Gates happy - only 2 balls in his direction last week. I thought the opposite last week. They were beating a bad Oakland team. I know you don't want to run the score up but I thought it was a good time to open up the O. They need to open it up this week because eventually they will get in a game where they have to and you would like to know where your QB stands in that equation.
Barry (Steeler Nation)
Hey Jeremy, I'd love to hear your take as to what a healthy Najeh Davenport will mean to Pittsburgh's running game. Thanks.
Jeremy Green (4:54 PM)
Hey Barry. He will play that SY role at times. I don't think every time though - he is not the "Bus." If Parker is working hard and playing well he desereves some of those SY runs. I think he helps because he is a big back that has a little quickness too.
Mike (San Diego)
JG, a Majeedesque question for you. Does Daunte bounce back this week? Brady had some struggles against the Bills last week.
Jeremy Green (4:55 PM)
What is he on the On-Star hot line on HWY 5. I talked with someone down there and they said he had a great week. I kind of sighed, but he says he will bounce back, so I will go with that. Tom Brady he is not, but he does have more weapons at his disposal.
Bad Brad (Buffalo)
Jets turn the Pats into ground chuck.
Jeremy Green (4:56 PM)
Brad's upset special.
Jon (KC)
Did Seattle give up too much for Branch?
Jeremy Green (4:57 PM)
Yes, but nobody will care come draft day if they are wearing their SB rings.
Ryan (Anchorage, AK)
The Jets looked pretty good in Tennessee in week 1, but do you think NE will expose their weaknesses on both offense and defense?
Jeremy Green (5:00 PM)
I don't know about offense - I think the Jets can and will move the ball some through the air. As for the defense I have concerns about the Jets run D. Tennessee ran the ball well but had to get away from it because they fell behind 16-0. I think the Pats will be able to run the ball again this week .
antonio, orlando
Thanx for answering jg. What are the dolphins going to do about their horrendous secondary?
Jeremy Green (5:01 PM)
Stay the course right now and hope these guys gel. They have a lot of new faces back there right now.
Brad (NM)
I don't know if you saw the game JG but Losman looked MUCH more relaxed in the Bills O-system and Dickie J's got a more well balanced playbook. If Spikes plays the Bills get redemption after last weeks debacle.
Jeremy Green (5:03 PM)
Hey Brad. I agree, he looked much more relaxed in the pocket - no happy feet. He was quicker to get the ball to spots so the receiver could make a play after the catch. Back to back on the road in the AFC East - I am going to stick ith the fins.
Jeremy Green (5:04 PM)
Hey Mike tell Majeed this too... Are you ready Majeed haters... If the Fins lose I am officially banning Majeed from the Friday Chat.
Jason (Baltimore)
No one question's Ben's heart or ability, but is it the smartest move to play him after these medical impairments?
Jeremy Green (5:05 PM)
The doctors know best. I mean if he is ready he is ready. I don't think you can hold him back - he wants to play. He is a competitor.
Kate
Is the pack that bad?
Jeremy Green (5:07 PM)
Not as bad as they played last week. Especially on the defensive side of the ball. They are such a different team now. They can't afford to get behind early like last week. There is no Brett comeback magic left.
Andrew (WI)
Hey man, got a question for you and no hedging. Is the rumor true that the Cardinals that the Cardinals hand-picked the 49ers for their home opener at the new stadium?
Jeremy Green (5:08 PM)
Not true. That was a Mike Nolan tactic to get his team motivated. The only team they hand picked was the Steeler's to open the preseason.
Cayne (Federal Way, WA)
Thanks Jeremy! Most of SportsNation has been waiting for you to announce the Majeed ban! We're all for it! Now I have to root for the Bills this weekend!
Jeremy Green (5:08 PM)
Here Majeed... another one of your loyal fans.
Cayne (Federal Way, WA)
JG... you're on pace to be on the couch again tonight. How much longer your wife going to let you chill with us?
Jeremy Green (5:09 PM)
6:00 PM. I got brownie points this week though. I am ont the 6:00 PM flight tomorrow to Bristol so I will take my daughter to her soccer game, get the kids up etc... in other words she is sleeping until 11 AM tomorrow.
Omid (El Dorado Hills, CA)
Jeremy, 2 years later, who turned out to be the best first time coach of the bunch: Mike Nolan, Nick Saban, or Romeo Crennel?
Jeremy Green (5:10 PM)
Not even close - Saban. He is a great coach that can make adjustments on game day. He has great game plans. I think he is going to be a SB coach one day.
Goose (Chicago)
Do you think Drew Bledsoe turns it around this week?
Jeremy Green (5:12 PM)
Yes I do think he will. I think he will get more time in the pocket and bounce back.
Catherine (Oregon)
Will the 49ers defense stop anyone this year?
Jeremy Green (5:13 PM)
Ouch. Yes, they will be better. The Cardinals will rank in the top 3 in total offense this year. Their defense will get back to being better starting this week.
Josh (Tallahassee)
You JG... GO NOLES... anyway... is Saban a top 5 coach in this league right now?
Jeremy Green (5:14 PM)
No not yet. He has to win something first. Not the big one but he has to get his team to the playoffs before we can start talking in that manner.
Bubba Earl (Alabama)
JG - what are you thoughts on Reggie and his family taking 100K and do you think this will weigh heavy on his mine this Sunday?
Jeremy Green (5:16 PM)
I don't think it will weigh on him at all. It sucks, but he is a professional and I really do think he is a good kid. He can't control what his family does. I think it will be business as usual for him.
Jon(St.Paul, MN)
Hey Jeremy, what numbers do you think C.Taylor will put up this year? and why do they take him out on 3rd down when one of his major strengths is catching the ball??
Jeremy Green (5:18 PM)
I think he will be in that 1,200 range. Great question too - I was watching the game with Gary Horton in Bristol this past week and could not believe he was coming out. I guess they want to find a role for Mewelde Moore, but I did not like it. I would only take Taylor out if he needs a quick rest.
Adam (Chicago)
Jeremy, Why is everyone blaming Steve Smith's absence on the Panthers loss? I don't remember him playing on the offensive line or at linebacker. Sure, he was missed, but the Panthers stunk.
Jeremy Green (5:20 PM)
I agree with all of that. I actually blame it on the defensive line. John Fox is a defensive guy. That D-line is supposed to set the tempo. I think Kris jenkins summed it up best when he said "they flat out kiced our butts."
Marc (Atlanta)
Will Leigh Bodden be matched up directly against Chad Johnson this week? And if so, can he shut him down at all?
Jeremy Green (5:22 PM)
Yes, but with help. There is not a corner in the NFL that can shut Chad Johnson down 1x1 on a nice day. Rain, snow, a 30 MPH wind - yeah maybe. Leigh Bodden is an excellent young DC, but he is not up to that 1x1 task.
Paul (LA)
Who has the bigger "bounce-back week", Larry Johnson or Shaun Alexander?
Jeremy Green (5:23 PM)
Alexander. Johnson will be running vs. 8- in the box all day. Alexander won't because the Cards have to respect Hasselback at QB.
Ed (Saginaw, MI)
JG.....can you give us a little inside dish on Karlos Dansby? Are they really that dissappointed in him? I mean, he had a great year last year and just got hit with the injury bug in the offseason. He's head-and-shoulders better than Pace! Right?
Jeremy Green (5:25 PM)
They are posturing right now. When his conditioning is back he is a back in the starting line-up. Their D was sketchy at best last week and they need Dansby if Dansby wants to step up and play. If he doesn't, well then they will move on. Look for him maybe 15-20 plays this week with the sub-packages.
Mad Mike (Houston)
JG: Come on, aren't you going to take me up on the steak dinner bet? Texans over Titans week 8. MM
Jeremy Green (5:27 PM)
OK Mike I put it on the list (Now I have Mike from SD and Mike from Houston for a steak dinner). I will take the awful Titans in week 8. Man I am going to eat good this off-season.
Brownsfan (Columbus, OH)
How would you rate Frye's performance after week 1? I thought he made a few mistakes, but played well considering his lack of protection and run production, not to mention the five or six dropped passes.
Jeremy Green (5:28 PM)
I thought he played pretty well. He had some drops from the receivers. Mo Carthon has one of the most conservative offense's I have ever seen. I think he does what they ask him to do - I just wish they would ask him to do more.
CLINT (SHREVEPORT, LA)
Come on JG give the Saints some love. They played a good game last week. Is it possible the defense and o-line is not as bad as every analyst said?
Jeremy Green (5:30 PM)
First Saints question and they deserve some love for a nice road win. I was impressed with the effort on defense. The O-line is wait and see - the Browns have little to no pass rush. Nice win though and a real good chance to go 2-0 with both coming on the road.
Mike (San Diego)
JG, that's a great bet on your part...I would have taken the Titans too. Anyway, what happens if Saban gets the hanky tossing jitters, and they blow the game? Is Majeed still on the outside looking in? He's a loyal follower JG, you can't ban him..plus we can rib him about his fish for the rest of the year.
Jeremy Green (5:31 PM)
Jeremy Green (5:32 PM)
Well, we would have to consult the comittee. The comittee is made up of the loyal followers in this time slot. That might not be good Majeed...there are a lot of haters out there.
Ramon (Tampa)
Is Dan Buenning back this week from injury? He was the most underrated rookie in the NFL last year.
Jeremy Green (5:33 PM)
Buenning will be a game time decision this weekend. If not, expect Sean Mahan to start at LG, while Jeb Terry will start for the second week replacing the injured Davin Joseph at RG.
Tim(LA, CA)
Hey JG, pass this along to Travis-he needs to make sure that his kids are his first priority. If his wife has a problem, then time to move on.
Jeremy Green (5:33 PM)
You got it man.
Tim (NH)
Do you think Jerry Porter would make a good fit with the Patriots?
Jeremy Green (5:35 PM)
They need him, but he is not a Belichick kind of guy. If he could come in, shut-up and play yes. I don't think they think he can do that though. If they did they would have traded for him instead of Gabriel.
Larry Fitzgerald
I will be the best WR in the league for the next 8 years. BABY!!
Jeremy Green (5:35 PM)
Maybe - the guy playing next to you is pretty darn good too.
Samer (Austin)
Why no love for Philly? First the texans, then the giants... What don't you like about them?
Jeremy Green (5:36 PM)
I am not sold quite yet after a win in Houston. The Giants I thought played a great game against a great team - they beat themselves last week. They dominated that game and should have won.
Jeff (Redondo Beach, CA)
Great chat today as usual! How much PT will Mike bell get this weekend? I heard he will return punts again.
Jeremy Green (5:38 PM)
Tatum gets the start so it will depend on how well he plays. If Tatum struggles his PT goes up. It will always be hard to tell if they are both healthy because this looks like the way they will play it each week.
Chris (Lacey Wa)
Jeremy - what's the deal with KRob, and how can he actually be suiting up this weekend? What about all the probation violation, the DUI, the previous league suspension, etc...??
Jeremy Green (5:40 PM)
He has not been tried on the new charge yet. The League cannot suspend him because what if the charges were dropped or he was found not guilty... it would not constitute a violation.
Jamal (Wisconsin)
You are predicting the Titans to beat Houston. A win over Houston is not worth bragging about.
Jeremy Green (5:41 PM)
Hey I didn't predict it - I just said I would take MM's bet.
Carlos (LA,CA)
JG, Is it realistic to say the 9ers can win 6 or 7 games. Afther that week 1 performance?
Jeremy Green (5:42 PM)
No. It was more a poor Cardinals defensive perforrmance than vice-versa. The 49ers secondary is not very good either. I like the direction they are going, but I think 4-5 wins is more realisitc.
Matt, (Hamilton, Canada)
Please tell me Caddy will bounce back after a rough wk 1, the back issue is not helping me.
Jeremy Green (5:43 PM)
I would like to but the O-line is hurting. Buenning is a ? Davin Joseph is out... hard to run behind that O-line with them shuffling new bodies in and out.
Matt K (The Burg, PA)
Would the steelers consider trying to acquire Joey Porter? They could use a better number two reciever.
Jeremy Green (5:46 PM)
He could help them but knowing the Rooney's and Cowher I would have to say no. He does not fit their profile.
Travis (Canada)
Greener, My wife just told me to tell you that she is not jealous of my relationship with my other children just upset that I waste some much time during the week doing stuff like this chat that it takes time away from my whole family including the wife, children and NO I'm not WHIPPED TOO BADLY, Yeah right!
Jeremy Green (5:48 PM)
Hey man if you are married you are whipped. Anyone who sends a reply to that and say they aren't is lying so stop typing now.
Greg (Los Angeles)
Who do you see winning the AFC West this year?
Jeremy Green (5:49 PM)
I will stick with Denver. It's only been one week. I think Plummer will play better. I think their defense will play better. I like the Chargers win, but I still have questions at QB, the O-line and in the secondary.
Not Mad Mike (Austin)
Ok...you are fielding marriage questions but not mine?! Should I keep Cadillac (with Foster,Dunn, and W. Parker) for Portis or not.
Jeremy Green (5:51 PM)
Not mad Mike that is why I stay for two hours. We can talk a lot of ball, do some counseling sessions, I am here for Sports Nation man. I would start Parker and Dunn.
Henry (NY)
That pass interference called on Carter last week blew my mind. It basically ended the game for the Giants. What didyou think of the call when you saw it?
Jeremy Green (5:52 PM)
It was awful. The corner I think it wss Harper over-reacted. I think offensive PI is the new vogue call though - there were about three other ones last week that were a little shaky.
paul (lake tahoe)
so you answer his RB question, but not mine?! who should i start, Fred Taylor, Willis Mcgahee or Reuben Droughns?
Jeremy Green (5:54 PM)
Is the whining going to start now? I would start McGahee and Droughns.
Stevie (FL)
JG! You did mean Jerry Porter on that last one, right?
Jeremy Green (5:55 PM)
He said Joey - I jus assumed he was talking about Jerry.
Igor nyc
I never get my question answered! Drop Mike Bell to pick Droughns?
Jeremy Green (5:56 PM)
What league is this? Nobody already has Droughns? I would stick with Bell for another week, Pick up Droughns and drop someone else for insurance.
Travis (Canada)
Thanks Dr.Phil, Oh I mean Jeremy Green for the advice and thanks for allowing me to board the whipped wagon with the rest of you!
Hoss (Austin)
This weeks score: Hoss -- 1 Majeed -- 0 Like I said, Dolphins stink.
Bob (NY, NY)
How about LaMont Jordan...as a fantasy guy, with that BRUTAL team, is his value shot?
Jeremy Green (5:57 PM)
Not good... they will be playing from behind all season long.
Mike (San Diego)
JG, am I crazy to start S. Jackson over LJ this week?
Jeremy Green (5:58 PM)
No. I know it would seem crazy but he is going to get stuffed vs. that 8-man front. They are going to be playing from behind which limites his carries. It soumds crazy but I am with you if you make that move.
joe - cubicle hell
Jeremy - Lions by 4 - Book it...
Jeremy Green (5:58 PM)
Ok it is out there.
Travis (Canada)
Jeremy, when did you get the gig at Scouts? Did Buzz have anything to do with it? I ask besides his track record of helping find jobs for chat hosts is pretty good, if you think of whom use to be a chat host and is now working in the sport of choice of their chats!
Jeremy Green (6:00 PM)
No I started Scouts (formally the War Room) with Gary Horton in Phoenix, Az. I left and went to the NFL for 8-years -got fired and now I am back and enjoying being back.
Cayne (Federal Way, WA)
As always, THANKS FOR YOUR TIME JEREMY! I really enjoy your chats and appreciate you staying so late for Sports Nation! Enjoy your weekend!!!
Jeremy Green (6:00 PM)
Thanks man.
paul (lake tahoe)
i was already typing so i figured id send it... i'm married and not whipped, i got to go to the raiders game monday...
Jeremy Green (6:01 PM)
Yes Paul, but your wife went shopping while you were at the game.
Jeremy Green (6:02 PM)
OK I am out of here. Mike if you are out there the votes are in on Majeed and I will post them right now... It look like he stays even if the FIns lose this week.
Cayne (Federal Way, WA)
JG, Mike has a point... maybe a Majeed ban is a little harsh. Maybe a 'one Majeed post per hour' limit would be more appropriate.
Mad Mike (Houston)
JG: Majeed stays, but on a probationary peroid......as long as it takes. MM
Jamal (Wisconsin)
Watching Majeed's heart break on Chattervision is the only thing that will get me through this Titan's season. My vote is let him in. I would love to hear his excuses.
Jeremy Green (6:03 PM)
The Council has spoken... Majeed you are safe, but come on man get your fins to step up this week.
Mike (San Diego)
JG, you crack me up. Thanks again for taking your time with us. I think by now a lot of us kind of know the other people around the country. Yours is the only chat like this! Shout out to Mad Mike!
Jamal (Wisconsin)
How much do you think nation-wide work productivity drops at 4PM eatern every Friday? Mine hits near 0.
Jeremy Green (6:03 PM)
A lot of questions today... productivity was on the down swing.
Jeremy Green (6:06 PM)
That is it.. I am out of here. As always you guys brought it. I love this chat.... a lot of football, a few counseling sessions. It is Miller time. Enjoy your weekend - good luck with your teams. I will see you next Friday here on the SHOW.
Mad Mike (Houston)
JG: Thanks and have a great weekend, I am glad I was able to move the meeting to Friday AM...your the best...MM
Mike (San Diego)
I think my productivity is in the negative...when you factor in the use of a company computer and the energy it takes to run it.
