Curtis is a little delayed. He should be here in a few minutes, but keep sending in your questions.
Buzzmaster (2:16 PM)
The team's just finishing up a team meeting. He should be here in a few.
Buzzmaster (2:24 PM)
Curt's here!
Kevin: (Villanova, PA)
Curt - are you as explosive as you were before the injury? A lot of Villanova fans won't feel safe until we see you throw down a dunk like the one you had at Kansas a couple of years ago.
Curtis Sumpter (2:25 PM)
The knee is fine. There's no problems with it. I've been continuously working on it. It's been getting better than I've anticipated.
Steve, Norristown PA
What did you learn and how will you apply it to your game having watched a full season observing from the bench?
Curtis Sumpter (2:26 PM)
I just learned to become a more patient player. I learned the offense a lot better. I feel I can score more easily. Having a love and passion for the game has increased more than before.
Kyle, Springfield, PA
Curtis, With Foye, Ray, and Lowry gone what will life be like at nova without guys that you were close friends with. In some way do you feel like you're carrying the torch for your recruiting class, finishing what you all started?
Curtis Sumpter (2:27 PM)
It's kind of different. Not just them but the whole senior class being gone. Not just the basketball guys, but the football guys and others that I hung out with. I've had my fun in four years of college now.
Jamaal (Marlton, NJ)
Hey Curtis, thanks for doing this chat! Who was your favorite player to watch or emulate while growing up?
Curtis Sumpter (2:28 PM)
Grant Hill. He was a team player. It wasn't about the points. He was about going out there every night and doing what was necessary to win. He was just a good all around player.
Christopher, Avon, CT
Curtis - What game or match up are you most looking forward to?
Curtis Sumpter (2:28 PM)
No. I'm just anxious to get out there and play every game, regardless of what the game is. It's been so long.
Nick O., VU '05, Scranton PA
In the 'Impact 25' article, Doug Gottlieb doesn't seem to have much faith in you returning to the player you were two seasons ago. This seems to be the concensus among analysts. What is your response to the critics?
Curtis Sumpter (2:29 PM)
I really don't look at it. I hear people telling me. I just worry about playing my all. I know I'm just going to go out there and play my all. I've been working very very hard to get back there and I'm sure I will.
Jiggie
Knick or Nets? How about when the Nets get to Bkyln, any desire to get drafted by them?
Curtis Sumpter (2:30 PM)
Nets.
Bob from Philadelphia
With so many terrific forwards on this team, could you see yourself getting some minutes at the 2-guard this year?
Curtis Sumpter (2:31 PM)
It looks like that's what's going to happen because we're so versatile. It won't be a disadvantage for us at all. I'm sure I'll get some looks at the two depending on how teams play us.
Andrew (Holbrook, ny)
Do you feel a lot better now that G-Mac is no longer in the big east?
Curtis Sumpter (2:31 PM)
No, those were some guys that I played. I wasn't able to play them last year. He's a very good player and everything. Overall he had a good career there.
Rich Gallina (NY)
Other then villanova who do you think is the best team in the big east now? since the draft took alot of talent away from teams like UConn, Nova and West Virginia.
Curtis Sumpter (2:32 PM)
I would probably say Louisville, Marquette and one more. . . Pittsburgh. Those are some of the good teams out there. Georgetown has the good forwards. The whole Big East is ridiculous.
Random Saint Joseph's (PA) Fan
Curt - Please go easy on my hawks this year. Please do not dunk on Pat Calathes too many times. Thank you.
Curtis Sumpter (2:33 PM)
I can't promise that.
Eric (NY, NY)
Curtis, Who do you see as the toughest matchup for you personally in the Big East? Which team is going to be the biggest test for you?
Curtis Sumpter (2:34 PM)
I really have no idea. Guys are getting better all the time. Guys are always trying to prove themselves. As for the biggest test, every game is going to be a test for us. There's no one game that's going to be a test for us.
Bob (Providence)
How hard was it to watch the team in the tournament last year, knowing that you could have impacted the games in certain ways?
Curtis Sumpter (2:35 PM)
It was definitely hard watching the tournament, because I wanted to be out there. It went a lot deeper than that, just watching the guys in practice. It was just tough watching. It didn't matter whether it was a tournament game or practice.
Curtis Sumpter (2:35 PM)
Thanks for chatting.
