Buzzmaster (7:01 PM)
What's going on SportsNation?!?
Buzzmaster (7:01 PM)
We're coming to you live from the ESPN Club at Disney's Boardwalk.
Buzzmaster (7:01 PM)
It's going to be a fun night, though a hot one.
Joe (San Jose, CA)
GOOOO BUCKEYES!!!!!
Hansel (Sandusky OHIO)
Can you please tell me why Mike Hart is not a Heisman finalist? I think everyone knows that Smith is going to walk away with the award, but why are Quinn and Mcfadden there and not Hart? If ND didn't play terrible teams every week (Army, Navy, North Carolina, Air Force, Stanford, etc.) he would not have good numbers. And how is Mcfadden there, Arkansas didn't even win their conference....
Buzzmaster (7:02 PM)
But neither did Michigan. . . But I digress.
J.D. : L.R., Arkansas
Mcfadden is a freak in person, huh... can you imagine somebody that size running that fast???
Buzzmaster (7:03 PM)
We're up on a little stage here at the Club, with lights beaming down. We need some water! Where are the water boy finalists to fetch me some water?
J.D. (L.R., Arkansas)
Neither did Hart... so why put him there, if not McFadden???
mike sykes (paris tn)
is bonds really going to play 2 years
Buzzmaster (7:03 PM)
Mike! Stay focused son! We're talking college football awards here.
Jon (Cleveland)
You poor thing, it's 20 degrees here with 1' of snow coming tomorrow
Buzzmaster (7:05 PM)
It was a brisk 73 today down here in Orlando.
Buzzmaster (7:06 PM)
Did any of you catch the feature on Louisville marching band's Patrick Henry Hughes? A talented member of the marching band and his dad pushes him in his wheelchair on the field.
Buzzmaster (7:06 PM)
Well father and son just walked in.
Nick Reid, Nashville
Ainge has got that fire. Watch out son
Coach Bill Long Island NY
I was surprised too about Hart....
Gordon ( South Bend, IN)
Do you think voters consider a player's entire career when voting or are they actually able to focus on a single season objectively.
J.D. (L.R., Arkansas)
Hart 5.0 per attempt... McFadden 5.9 in a much tougher conference... with everybody keying on him
evans (birmingham, alabama)
yo give the heisman to JPWroll TIDE roll
S.L. (Columbus, OH)
yes, let's focus...can we talk draft...i keep hearing that Smith will go in the second round of the draft? is possibly true and why? shamlessly, i have money riding on this, i bet he'll go in the first round...
Buzzmaster (7:08 PM)
Draft? It's hard to concentrate with the smells of all this catered food flying around. It smells good in here. But it's like window shopping. You can look, but no touch.
chris (Lodi,NJ)
Why all this bad talk about ND, 2 years ago we were garbage, Now back to back BCS games. The only two teams that deserve to be ahead of us in this game was Wisconsin, But they have that rule. Give ND 2-3 years and we will win it all.
Gordon ( South Bend, IN)
Chris, next year is gonna be rough, we're replacing over half our starters.
Chris (Lodi, NJ)
I think Brady Quinn should win the Heisman, Without him they are nothing. Without Troy they still are the best team, Same with Mcfadden, that other RB isnt so bad either.
Çoach Bill
< draft expert......Lots of the pre draft stuff i've seen(outside of mine) says booty will come out...
Brian Charleston Sc
As a wayward Buckeye deep in the heart of ACC / SEC country, I would just like to give my thanks to and show my appreciation for Troy Smith for doing such a fantastic job this season. All my football crazed friends share in crediting him for his exemplory leadership and amazing play making abilities. Thank you Troy for making this transplanted, southeastern Buckeye proud!
Padraig (Wapakoneta,OH)
Who will go first in the NFL Draft Troy Smith or Brady Quinn?
Buzzmaster (7:11 PM)
My favorite draft prognosticator Mel Kiper says Quinn.
Buzzmaster (7:11 PM)
But who knows. There's a lot of time between now and then.
Gordon (South Bend, IN)
2 losses, no way he'll win the Heisman. Maybe the Maxwell. He deserves an award.
Mike Pennsylvania
How the heck is Brady Quinn in the running. He had two real bad games and still gets in when they play teams like Army. This is a joke. I bet the BCS votes on this too.
J.D. (L.R., Arkansas)
LSU will roll ND... 2 TDs at least... welcome to THE SOUTH...
JR (Chattanooga, tn)
War Eagle!!! how about our fifth iron bowl
Vivek (chicago)
Being and OSU fan l do have to say Hart's team was much better then Mcfadden's team and it is much tougher to run in the big ten where d linemen weigh more then 250 lbs
Buzzmaster (7:13 PM)
I just had a thought. When all these players show up and get to this room, how many millions of future dollars will be in this room.
Amber (Suwanee, GA)
Smith should sweep the awards. Quinn would win most years, but not with Smith in the mix.
Bryan, WV
Everybody's talking about yards per carry, Steve Slaton averaged 7.3 ypc this year with 1,733 yards, which set the WVU single season rushing record. Why shouldnt he be the walker award winner?? yea I know the other guys had great years, too, but still..
Matt (Sa)
Smith doesnt have the best numbers but hes the best NCAA player
The BG (Jersey)
If Posluzny wins the Butkus again and become only the 2nd LB to do that how wouldnt he be considered the top LB since Bozworth and in the upcoming draft?
Buzzmaster (7:15 PM)
We'll have to ask Paul later.
Buzzmaster (7:15 PM)
There are a lot of important looking people in this room.
Buzzmaster (7:16 PM)
Former OSU player John Hicks stopped by before everyone started showing up. He said he was breaking news to me when he told me that there was "no love lost between OSU and Michigan"!
Buzzmaster (7:16 PM)
And he was wearing one of his rings. It was pretty sparkly.
shane (lewiston, id)
Brady Quinn should be in the running because without him Notre Dame is a .500 team. The kid wont win it, it has been a one horse race since the Michigan game. He should still be recognized though.
Padraig (wapak,OH)
Brady Quinn deserves to be in the running for the heisman because hes set 35 ND records thats why?p.s. if his receivers caught passes he wouldnt have done bad in big games
Chris (Munising, Mi)
lamarr woodley gonna be on here buzz?
Buzzmaster (7:17 PM)
Cross your fingers with me. Rumor has it that most of the players will be here. Charlie Weis and Brady Quinn just landed a couple of hours ago.
Jason (Arlington, VA)
Slayton is awesome but played ridiculous competition. Put Percy Harvin in that conference and he averages 10 yards per carry.... oh wait, he did that in the SEC
Elijah (Cleveland)
Troy Smith will win the award, no doubt about it
Chris (Munising, Mi)
who we gonna be talkin with buzz?
Buzzmaster (7:18 PM)
http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation/story?id=2677557
Buzzmaster (7:19 PM)
Check out that link. It's got the awards and the finalists. We should have a chance to talk to all of them.
David: Jacksonville, FL
Smith hands down is the winner. I dont think anyone else will receive a single vote. I dont think he is the strongest Heisman winner ever but noone is better this year.
John (Ann Arbor)
Buzzmaster! Why aren't you posting anything i write???
Buzzmaster (7:19 PM)
Send something in! I haven't seen anything from you yet.
Chris (Munising, Mi)
thanks buzz
Jason (Arlington, VA)
Ask Reggie Nelson to walk slowly - I don't want Troy Smith seeing what real speed is until the game. GO GATORS
Buzzmaster (7:20 PM)
I'll try to mention it to him. He'll probably be the blur in front of me.
Jason (Arlington, VA)
Is it ok to beg Reggie Nelson to stay another year? PLEASE!
Buzzmaster (7:20 PM)
Go for it.
Gordon (South Bend, IN)
Buzz, you think whoever wins the Heisman deserves the O'Brien (if they're a QB of course) or are there different criteria for each?
Buzzmaster (7:21 PM)
I'm not a voter, so I don't know. But I would say that the Heisman is more of an MVP award and the O'Brien a Silver Slugger award, to make a baseball comparison.
Buzzmaster (7:22 PM)
Although supposedly representatives from all the awards are supposed to be here tonight. Maybe I'll ask the O'Brien people if I see them.
J.D. (L.R., Arkansas)
watch out for McFadden... he is the one that looks like an outside LB
Brian (Maryville IL)
HAHA you wanna talk about speed? I guess you haven't seen the bucks play this year!!!
Tim (Jonesboro AR)
Buzz, does Darren Mcfadden have a realistic chance at the heisman this year. Or was this just his coming out year to the world?
Buzzmaster (7:23 PM)
If ESPN.com viewers are close to the real voting, than probably not. Right now, Darren only has about 20% of the voting.
seth (syracuse)
comeon, buzzmaster!
J.D. (L.R., Arkansas)
Tim... dont be too silly... D-Mac will have his day... and it will be glorious
Buzzmaster (7:24 PM)
John Hicks just came back over and said it was Michigan's fault that Mike Hart wasn't in the running.
Buzzmaster (7:26 PM)
Hicks was second in the Heisman voting as an offensive lineman. PRetty impressive.
Buzzmaster (7:27 PM)
OK, my bad. I goofed. I thought McFadden was third in the voting on ESPN.com. He's actually first. So just forget everything I said.
Hansel (Sandusky OHIO)
that is very impressive but can he explain what he meant about michigan holding hart back
Buzzmaster (7:28 PM)
He's gone now. Not to put words in his mouth, but I think he meant about campaigning for the award, which is a big part of the Heisman - sending out DVDs and informational packets, etc.
Brant (Collinsville, IL)
laurinaitis should win the butkus award...i mean look at his numbers and he led the defense of the best team in the nation
Joe (C-bus Ohio)
don't think Ohio State's defense isn't fast, Leak will see what it's like to get hit by the big ten power house. 35-10 Ohio State
Kendel (Little Rock, AR)
McFadden will be the frontrunner next year...but he still has to put up his numbers, it won't just be handed to him.
Marshall (Florida, the Burg)
THE Ohio State Buckeyes couldn't possibly lose because THE Heisman Trophy Winner Troy Smith will always find THE open receiver or just make something happen with his feet. GO BUCKEYES
Jason (Arlington, VA)
Wow! Mandarich-esque in his day?
Brian (Maryville IL)
Sounds like Orlando Pace in 95
Tim (Jonesboro AR)
Buzz, he should be first. He is the best player in the country!!! Arkansas would be a 500 team without him.
Peter (Gainesville)
No ones give Florida respect and were lovin the fact that were the underdogs, watch out ohio st your nothing but gator bait.
Buzzmaster (7:30 PM)
A little trash talking.
Russ (Dyersville)
Robert Gallery was a stud in 2003!!
John (Mayberry, Ohio)
Brant (Collinsville, IL): laurinaitis should win the butkus award...........Yeah and AJ Hawk should have won it last year.
Joseph Morgantown WV
Dan Mozes of WVU best Center in college football. Will this kid be a first round pick?
Todd (Massap. Ny)
Reggie Nelson is the best D Back in the nation. I see him as a Ed Reed type player when he gets drafted. He is everywhere on the field and he hits like a LB.
Russ (Dyersville)
BUZZ!!!!
Buzzmaster (7:32 PM)
RUSS!
Brian (Maryville IL)
Did Posluzny win it last year...that is the only guy i can think of who would deserve it
Nate (mich)
Woodley should win the butkus for leading the nations best defense
Russ (Dyersville)
Where are the players???
Buzzmaster (7:33 PM)
They're eating. Do you want to take a plate of food away from football players? I'd say that'd be pretty dangerous.
JOHN (Mayberry, OHIO)
"No ones give Florida respect"....true..but that is something that has to be EARNED. The BCS dudes don't hand out respect.
Mark (Palm Beach, FL)
WE want Players. WE want Players!!!
Buzzmaster (7:34 PM)
We're working on it. Don't worry. We'll deliver.
Russ (Dyersville)
Yes take their plate away...its not as dangerous as me wasting time instead of studying??
Buzzmaster (7:35 PM)
Ummmm. No way. I would like to keep all my bones from breaking, thanks.
TIM (Jonesboro AR)
At least florida won the toughest conference in the country. Can Ohio State say that?? NO!!!
Russ (Dyersville)
Speaking of food....what'd you eat tonight, Buzz?
Buzzmaster (7:36 PM)
It's tough to say, I haven't eaten anything yet. Which is making this killer buffet over to my right that much more appetizing.
Buzzmaster (7:37 PM)
Jeff Samardzija is standing off to the side here, doing an interview for the awards show tomorrow night. I think that's what it's for. Maybe it's for SportsCenter tonight.
Michael (Austin, TEXAS BABY!!!)
Troy Smith is going to win the heisman.
Ronnie(Conway AR)
What about Patrick Willis. He can't help it that his team was not the best.
Mark (Palm Beach FL)
Buzz, can you give a few examples of players we should be soon to hear?
Buzzmaster (7:38 PM)
Scroll up in the chat and check out the link I posted twice (once at the very beginning). That has all the finalists and the awards.
Mark (Palm Beach FL)
Buzz, Work your hardest to get Jeff! MY fav player and tons of ND fans on this chat!
Buzzmaster (7:38 PM)
We're trying! We're trying!
Mark (Toms River NJ)
Lets all give props to Greg Schiano the Home Depot Coach of the Year!
Seth (Syracuse, NY)
Hey Buzz- do you think its right that one of my professors (a Florida alum) failed me because I am an avid Ohio State fan?
Russ (Dyersville)
Nope Mark, gotta give it to Jim Grobe.
david columbus, ohio
ok i am a huge osu fan, but why are we even discussing anyone but troy smith, what a waste of time and money bringing them all to nyc. go bucks
Seth (Syracuse, NY)
Hey Buzz- Help a brother out!
Nate (mich)
Buzz is there any cheerleaders there if so what are the chances of getting one of them
Buzzmaster (7:40 PM)
Unfortunately, no cheerleaders. Sorry.
J.R. Newark Ohio
We should be discussing how Colt Brennan was robbed from being in New York. Troy Smiths numbers do not compare with Brennans. 52 touchdown passes! Are you kidding me?
Mark (Toms River NJ)
Russ, its alreay been named Greg!! GO RU!!!Also lets congraduate Brian Leonard for winning the Academic All American Award
Mark (Palm Beach FL)
Russ 100% right. Jim Grobe Coach of Year. Maybe if Greg went 12-0 or 11-1. All my props to him though
Brant (Collinsville, IL)
Everybody better keep an eye on Juice Williams because in about 2 years he will be at these awards and possibly winning one
Joel (Huntsvegas Al)
John Vaugh won't win the Lou Groza but he's still the best in my book
Russ (Dyersville)
Buzz, you're lying to us. You're probably flirting with them right now....
Buzzmaster (7:43 PM)
Wow. They just turned the lights WAY up on the stage so they can do an introduction.
Buzzmaster (7:43 PM)
I'm feeling a little awkward. He's standing right next to me and everyone's looking at me.
Steve (Chicago)
Yo Buzz, is this going to be like a Morning Buzz chat, but about what we had for dinner instead? At least until the boys start showin up?
Buzzmaster (7:43 PM)
And he's done.
kip
Jeff Samardzija is a freekin stud.
Chris (Munising Mi (GO BLUE))
alright buzz time to start talking to players lets go times up
Buzzmaster (7:44 PM)
I'm trying! Lots of pressure here.
Russ (Dyersville)
Who are they introducing?
Buzzmaster (7:44 PM)
No one, just welcoming everyone to the event here.
Mike (Baton Rouge)
BUZZ!! Tell them to hurry
Hansel (Sandusky OHIO)
i think buzz is lying lol
Padraig
Finally! a sensible person in J.R. knows Colt Brennan should be in NY over Darren Mcfadden
Buzzmaster (7:46 PM)
Get ready. We've got Colt.
Buzzmaster (7:46 PM)
Colt Brennan's here!
Bill (Toledo)
How was the flight? Did they fly you first class?
Colt Brennan (7:47 PM)
I wish! I guess the NCAA rules says it's not allowed. My SID and coach flew first class and I flew coach.
Rick Wilton
How's Orlando treating you? Been on any rides yet?
Colt Brennan (7:48 PM)
Actually, I was able to make two rides today, the Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain.
Colt Brennan (7:48 PM)
They were fun.
Andrew (virginia Beach)
Where you disappointed that you are not a heisman finalist? With your numbers you should have been going to NY.
Colt Brennan (7:49 PM)
Thanks a lot. I appreciate it. I wasn't disappointed, but I was looking forward for an opportunity to put my school as well as myself in the national spotlight.
Sam (Norwalk, CT)
Do you have anything to say to the people who think that your numbers are just the product of the pass-happy system you guys run at Hawaii?
Colt Brennan (7:49 PM)
One thing they say about school's that pass the ball a lot is they have low efficiency and low completion percentages. If you watch me play, you would see that I'm not a product of a system. But the system does help.
Brian (Maryville IL)
Colt, who has been your biggest influence in college?
Colt Brennan (7:50 PM)
I'd have to say my cousin who played for Arizona. He was a receiver that walked on, earned a scholarship and taught me a lot about perseverence.
James (R.I.)
Since you're not in the Heisman race... Who are you rooting for?
Colt Brennan (7:51 PM)
Troy Smith. I think he symbolizes what getting the job done is. And he got the job done this year.
Ben, Honolulu, HI
Why doesn't everyone give Brennan the respect he deserves? He puts his heart out on the field every game and puts his team first. 53 td isn't bad for anly playing 3 quarters a game eh?
Colt Brennan (7:52 PM)
I think that's because people don't get a chance to see us. Also, being on the island we're set at a disadvantage competing with other schools. For example, traveling, faciliites, etc.
Ross (College Station)
Colt, your thoughts on the BCS vs a playoff system?
Colt Brennan (7:53 PM)
I love the bowl atmosphere. I would hate to see anything happen to the bowl games. But I still think there should be a way to easily establish the best team in the nation, through a mimi-playoff system.
Mark (Palm Beach Fl)
Colt, which other big name schools offered you college scholarships?
Colt Brennan (7:53 PM)
None.
mike (fl)
who are you rooting for in the ohio state florida game
Colt Brennan (7:54 PM)
I'll say Ohio State. But I'm a big fan of the underdog. Come fourth quarter, I could be rooting for Florida.
Mark (Palm Beach FL)
Colt, thoughts of a future NFL career?
Colt Brennan (7:55 PM)
Definitely. I would love to play in the NFL. I still have one more year left and a lot to think about. If I could play in the NFL one day, it would be a dream come true.
Alexander (Miami)
Do you have an acceptance speech ready? Or is that being cocky?
Colt Brennan (7:56 PM)
I don't have an acceptance speach. But I were to have to give one, I would stumble on the microphone.
Seth (Syracuse, NY)
Colt, have you ever had an annoying roommate? Mine annoys me
Colt Brennan (7:56 PM)
Yes, I think everyone has one in life.
Nate (mich)
We need you in detroit
Colt Brennan (7:57 PM)
Thank you and call the Ford family for me. Put in a good word.
Paul (Oklahoma City)
Do you have a favorite NFL team?
Steve Slaton (7:58 PM)
The Cowboys. Emmitt Smith. Since he's gone, I still have to go with them.
Timo
Are you satisfied with your performance this season? What was the highlight of the season for you?
Steve Slaton (7:58 PM)
Yes and no. The highlight is to play in the bowl game. After the bowl game, we'll put it into perspective.
Jake (Grand Rapids, Mi)
Great season this year Steve!
Steve Slaton (7:59 PM)
Thank you.
steve (hamilton, NY)
Steve...which college linebacker would you least like to see bursting through the line?
Steve Slaton (7:59 PM)
I'd have to say Paul Posluzny. I've seen a couple of his hits.
Nate (mich)
Steve how many TDS are you gonna put on maryland next year?
Steve Slaton (8:00 PM)
We'll have to wait until next year to find out.
Russ (Dyersville)
Steve, seriously, who's faster, you or Pat White?
Steve Slaton (8:00 PM)
For the time being me.
Greg Jordan,Colorado
Who do you think will be in the BCS championship and who will win the Heisman Trophy?
Steve Slaton (8:00 PM)
Ohio State and Troy Smith.
Connor (West Long Branch, NJ)
hey steve what team's defense was the hardest to play this year?
Steve Slaton (8:01 PM)
South Florida. They had a lot of speed.
Michael Ryan
Favorite Disney character?
Steve Slaton (8:01 PM)
Probably Mickey. You've got to go with Mickey.
Buzzmaster (8:02 PM)
Our thanks to Steve!
Buzzmaster (8:02 PM)
Reggie Nelson is here!
Dave (washington DC)
Reggie Nelson will eat Troy Smith for breakfast.
Charlie (Indiana)
Reg, who is your favorite athlete?
Reggie Nelson (8:04 PM)
John Lynch because of the way he hits.
kevin (jacksonville)
REGGIE! congrats on a great year. i hope you come back, but wish you all the best. go gators!!
Mark (Palm Beach Fl)
Hey Reggie, do me a favor. Own OSU and Troy!
Brian (Maryville IL)
Hey Reggie, how does it feel making it through the toughest conference in the country to the national title?
Reggie Nelson (8:04 PM)
It feels real great knowing that we had the toughest schedule in the SEC. I'm more happy for the seniors to play for the national title.
chris (NJ)
What other schools were you looking at , and why did you pick Florida?
Reggie Nelson (8:05 PM)
Florida State, Miami, and LSU. I picked Florida because it was closer to home. My best friend Joe was there. I didn't want to be too far away from my family.
Sam (Norwalk, CT)
Reggie, what was your team's reaction when you found out UCLA beat USC?
Reggie Nelson (8:06 PM)
To me it was real bad news, because we were still playing. The other players were real happy. It was happy news at the same time.
roger (seattle)
hey reggie, what's your favorite part about being a gator?
Reggie Nelson (8:06 PM)
My favorite part is running out of the tunnel and seeing all the fans and all the kids.
Nate (mich)
Is Percy the fastest cat on your team
Reggie Nelson (8:07 PM)
It's either him or Bubba and Jemalle.
Jason
So, are you gonna win or what!? Do you have an acceptance speech ready?
Reggie Nelson (8:08 PM)
No I do not have an acceptance speach ready. I'm really nervous. Hopefully I can bring it home for the seniors that worked really hard this season.
Brian (Florida)
Hey Reggie, how can you compare to the OSU corners?
Reggie Nelson (8:08 PM)
I never really watched their defense. I won't worry about that.
Justin (tempe, arizona)
what was your favorite game this year?
Reggie Nelson (8:09 PM)
It was against Alabama, because of the interception I returned for a touchdown in the Swamp. I really enjoyed that game.
matt (T-town, Al)
What was the toughest stadium in the SEC (Other than the swamp) you had to play in? make sure all these yanks know what an SEC stadium feels like
Reggie Nelson (8:09 PM)
I would say Tennessee. Their fans are just ridiculous. I really enjoy it, but it was the toughest stadium.
derek (gainesville)
whats up reggie, how did it feel to lay out that guy in tallahasee, and that dude from lsu?
Reggie Nelson (8:10 PM)
It felt real good. But then when I got inside the stadium to check my messages I had some from my friends.
Buzzmaster (8:11 PM)
Thanks Reggie! Leon Hall is up next.
Alex (Los Angeles)
Ohio State or Florida? Make a pick!
Leon Hall (8:12 PM)
Ohio State. I'm still a Big 10 guy. Even though it hurts to say Go Buckeyes, you have to stay with the Big 10.
Palmer (houston)
Are you upset that the Gators are in the championship and not yall
Leon Hall (8:12 PM)
A little upsetting. It's more disappointing than anything. It wasn't in our hands. It wasn't up to us.
Jake (Grand Rapids, Mi)
Congrats on a great season and you and the wolverine d better lay the lumber to john david booty.
Leon Hall (8:13 PM)
We will. There's no other choice. Someone has to pay for what happened.
Eric (Los Angeles, CA)
Who are you worried about from the Trojans offense?
Leon Hall (8:14 PM)
Their two WRs, obviously. I play CB, so those are the players I need to worry about.
chris (NJ)
What was your Favorite game this year, please dont say ND?
Leon Hall (8:14 PM)
My favorite game was the Penn State game. After last year, to play down at their house. It was crazy. You can't beat that.
Phil: Grand Rapids, MI
Leon, kick some major Trojan butt alright? We need a bowl win. Great season this year. Go Blue!
Leon Hall (8:15 PM)
We will definitely get that done. We haven't won a bowl since we got here. I'm a senior. We'll go get a victory.
Buzzmaster (8:15 PM)
Thanks to Leon! Now we've got Mike Hart!
Damon (Anderson, IN)
Hey Mike Hart wats up congrats on the season. Wat went through ur head as Florida was announced as the candidate to play Ohio St. and also if u got another shot do you think u would win?
Mike Hart (8:16 PM)
I was just disappointed. It was disappointing that we didn't get the chance.
Drew (SC)
Mike, what player hits the hardest?
Mike Hart (8:17 PM)
I would say Dave Harris on my own team, honestly.
Nate (mich)
Mike how many Tds are you putting on the buckeyes next?
Mike Hart (8:17 PM)
Probably four.
Eric (Milwaukee, WI)
What has been the most rewarding football game you've played at Michigan out of any season?
Mike Hart (8:17 PM)
Probably Notre Dame this year, because of how we were ranked. Then we went in there and beat them.
T-Mac
Beyonce or J-Lo?
Mike Hart (8:18 PM)
Beyonce.
Max (Chicago)
how's it feel to have stayed healthy the whole year this year?
Mike Hart (8:18 PM)
It felt good. Last year was frustrating.
matt (sarasota)
You and Chad coming back?
Mike Hart (8:18 PM)
Of course. We've got to beat the Buckeyes.
Matt (cleveland, OHIO)
Mike, Do you think in a rematch between osu at a neutral site the wolverines would come out on top?
Mike Hart (8:19 PM)
Definitely. No question.
Nick (Ann Arbor, MI)
Mike, you're the man! The field during the OSU game looked horrible. I'm wondering how much you think that affected the team during the game?
Mike Hart (8:19 PM)
I can't say it did, because they had to play on the same conditions. The defensive players were slipping a lot, but the offensive players weren't. That's the way that I saw it.
Max (Chicago)
Tupac or Biggie?
Mike Hart (8:20 PM)
Biggie.
Chris (Munising Mi (GO BLUE))
mike was your sucess credited to you or your linemen?
Mike Hart (8:20 PM)
You've got to give all the credit to the linemen.
sean (ohio)
who are you going for ohio state or florida?
Mike Hart (8:20 PM)
Neither. I'm rooting for the Big Ten. That's all I have to say.
Jake (Grand Rapids, Mi)
What is it like running behind Jake Long?
Mike Hart (8:21 PM)
Crazy. He's great. I know whoever's in front of him, he's getting moved.
sean (ohio)
ALI OR FRAZIER?
Mike Hart (8:21 PM)
Ali.
Dave (Grand Rapids, MI)
Mike, what are you looking forward to most in the Rose Bowl and in playing against USC?
Mike Hart (8:21 PM)
I think it's the best defense that we'll face all year.
Max (Chicago)
how bout them sorry Giants? you're an NY guy right?
Mike Hart (8:22 PM)
That's my squad. Injuries! Injuries. That's all I can say.
Buzzmaster (8:22 PM)
Our thanks to Mike Hart!
Buzzmaster (8:22 PM)
He's a funny guy.
Buzzmaster (8:23 PM)
Things are really starting to pick up in here.
Buzzmaster (8:23 PM)
Darren McFadden might be by in a few minutes. He's finishing up an EA college football game.
Eric (LA, CA)
Isn't this supposed to be on ESPN right now? But the 'Nova/Oklahoma game is on...
Buzzmaster (8:24 PM)
Noooooo. ESPN.com!
Steve (Chicago)
Buzz, any Woodley sightings? You know, guns don't kill people, LaMarr Woodley kills people.
Buzzmaster (8:24 PM)
With these lights shining in my face, Beyonce could be in front of me and I wouldn't know.
Bentonville, Ar
Bring on D-Mac
Alan (Tuscaloosa)
If Darren doesn't win the Heisman in the next couple of years then the system is rigged.
sean (florida)
Hey darren nice holloween costume.
Corey(marlboro)
Hey Darren,Were you upset that you didnt beat florida and how excited are you to be a heisman finalist
Darren McFadden (8:28 PM)
We were very upset. That we didn't win the championship game. It's a great accomplishment being one of three Heisman finalists.
Terry B. (Michigan)
What kind of music are you into? Do you listen to music before games?
Darren McFadden (8:28 PM)
Mainly rap music. I listen something to get me hyped before the game.
Jake (Grand Rapids, Mi)
What are your thoughts about mike hart?
Darren McFadden (8:29 PM)
I feel like he's a great running back. I respect any running back that had as many carries as him without a fumble.
Alan (Chicago, IL)
Darren, your team played against both USC and Florida this year. Who was better?
Darren McFadden (8:29 PM)
I'm going to have to say Florida. We had a lot of turnovers against USC.
Trell(Knoxville)
Razorbacks in the BCS championship next year?
Darren McFadden (8:30 PM)
We'll work hard at it to be there.
Brian (Maryville IL)
Darren, I know you are planning on playing in the NFL. Do you have a favorite team?
Darren McFadden (8:30 PM)
I'd say the Broncos. I like their offense.
Trell(Knoxville)
Darren, please stay for four years!! Please!!
Gotto (Dubuque)
Which is funner to play, QB or RB?
Darren McFadden (8:30 PM)
I'm going to go with running back.
Jim - Little Rock, Arkansas
This question is for Darren McFadden of Arkansas:I think that you are the best running back to ever play @ Arkansas. Do you think that you might spend more time at the QB position next season? Throw more passes out of the Wildcat?
Darren McFadden (8:31 PM)
I'm not sure, really. It just depends on how the coach wants to use us.
Mike (Conway, AR)
Darren, we're extremely proud of you in hog country! You've shown such strength in overcoming your injury before the season started. Go Hogs! Beat Wisconin!
Darren McFadden (8:31 PM)
Thank you.l
Mark (Palm Beach FL)
Darren, how good of a coach is Coach Nutt?
Darren McFadden (8:32 PM)
I feel like he's a real good coach. He's the type of coach that can motivate people.
Elliott (Chicago)
darrenn, i tink wisconsin is pretty overrated, what do you think your odds are in the capital one bowl?
Darren McFadden (8:32 PM)
I haven't seen them too much, but I feel like the team we have we can compete against anybody.
chris (NJ)
What other schools were you looking at and why Ark?
Darren McFadden (8:33 PM)
No other schools. I just grew up an Arkansas fan.
lay squir (gainesville)
was that florida game the first game ya didn't go 100yds? how styfling is that florida defense?
Darren McFadden (8:33 PM)
They have a real good defense. They have a real good front. They have a good run defense and pass defense.
Gordon (IN)
Darren, you're leading on the ESPN poll for the Heisman. Do you think that poll will reflect the final decision?
Darren McFadden (8:34 PM)
I don't think so. I think the Heisman will be handed to Troy Smith.
Aly (Atlanta, GA)
Do you feel that the voters are against you in any way because you are from Arkansas and not an Ohio State or a Notre Dame?
Darren McFadden (8:35 PM)
I don't think they are. They only picked three people so I feel like that shows that they're not being biased.
Marc - Des Moines
FL or OSU?
Darren McFadden (8:35 PM)
Florida.
Jim WV
Darren if you had to rate steve slaton 1 to 10 what would you rank him
Darren McFadden (8:35 PM)
I would have to give him a 10. He's a great running back. He has the speed and everything that comes along with being a great running back.
Chris (Munising, Mi)
Favorite Athlete?
Darren McFadden (8:36 PM)
Mike Vick.
Brenden (MI)
Where do you need to improve to become a dominate back at the next level?
Darren McFadden (8:36 PM)
It just depends on the offense they play at the next level.
Tom Dallas, TX
Great season Darren. Did you get injured in the FLorida game?
Darren McFadden (8:36 PM)
Rolled my ankle a little bit.
Raoul ( Philly, PA)
What's a bigger thrill for you, throwing for a touchdown or running one in?
Darren McFadden (8:37 PM)
I feel like running one in. Running one in is more hard work.
Fred (ATL)
Favorite place to play this year?
Darren McFadden (8:37 PM)
Probably in Little Rock.
John (Dallas, TX)
If you had to choose...winning the national championship or going 1st in the NFL Draft...what would it be???
Darren McFadden (8:37 PM)
That's a hard one. I'll have to get back to you on that one.
Brian NC
What is the toughest part of playing college level football that most people dont realiseGreat season Best of luck
Darren McFadden (8:38 PM)
It's probably the work outs and things like that.
Wade (Fayetteville, AR)
Where would you rate Arkansas' football stadium with the rest of the schools in the SEC?
Darren McFadden (8:38 PM)
I think probably it's in the middle.
Becky (Dallas,TX)
What do you guys think about Arkansas defense?
Darren McFadden (8:39 PM)
I feel like we have a very aggressive defense. We have one of the toughest defenses in the nation.
Buzzmaster (8:39 PM)
Thanks Darren!
Buzzmaster (8:39 PM)
Man, he's a BIG dude!
Buzzmaster (8:40 PM)
Darren's currently leading our ESPN.com Heisman poll and he also earned the one vote in the Doak Walker voting awarded to the winner of the ESPN.com poll.
Buzzmaster (8:41 PM)
No, I can not.
Josh (Conway, AR)
No joke Buzz... You see his arms?!?! They're ridiculous!
Buzzmaster (8:41 PM)
He's got some huge arms. I think his forearm is as big as my thigh.
Nate (mich)
Thats cute but he aint winning the Heisman
Aly (Atlanta, GA)
Who's next???
Buzzmaster (8:42 PM)
Whomever we can grab. It's an all out food fest/free for all in here.
Buzzmaster (8:42 PM)
I think Aaron Ross is coming up.
Buzzmaster (8:42 PM)
Aaron Ross is here!
Timothy (Orlando)
Is there another player there tonight that you are looking forward to talking to?
Aaron Ross (8:43 PM)
Yeah, Troy. I felt like me and Troy had a nice little connection during the game. He looked at my side and smiled. He would smile and I smiled back. We exchanged phone numbers. I'm sure we'll hang out tonight later on.
Dan
Aaron, who do you want? OSU or Florida
Aaron Ross (8:44 PM)
I would be voting for Texas. But I like Troy Smith. I respect him as a football player. They beat us, so I would have to to with Ohio State.
Gordon ( South Bend, IN)
For anyone. Do you think awards should be given with an eye cast towards total career achievements or should they be based solely on this season?
Aaron Ross (8:45 PM)
I think the season. Like myself, this is my first year starting. I haven't had a chance to have a great career, like Leon Hall. If you look at his career numbers compared to mine, his is better. I feel like the award should go to the best d-back that year.
Kevin (Dallas)
What do you think about Jevan transferring?
Aaron Ross (8:46 PM)
Jevan was a great guy. I wish him the best in whatever decision he makes. Whoever gets him, they have a great QB coming into their program. But with Colt playing so well, you can't do anything but respect his decision.
Nate (mich)
Yo Aaron been able to see any of Vince's highlights lately
Aaron Ross (8:46 PM)
I was watching last night. It seems like the game is slowing down for him. I think we'll be seeing more of that from him. He's about to make the highlight reel real soon.
Eric (Perrysburg, Ohio)
Ever have any impulses to get back out there and catch a few TD's?
Aaron Ross (8:47 PM)
Oh yeah. All the time I ask my offensive coordinator and DB coach if I can play receiver. The coordinator says yes, but the DB coach says no. I wish I could play offense sometimes.
Dylan (Austin, Tx)
Aaron, one day when you are in the NFL what team would you what to play for?
Aaron Ross (8:48 PM)
Whichever team gives me the most money! (laughs) It doesn't matter to me. There are so many players that have the ability to play but don't get picked up. So whichever team decides to pick me up.
Ryan (cleveland)
whos the best reciever youve had to face this year?
Aaron Ross (8:49 PM)
Teddy. Teddy Ginn. Last year I just felt like he was a speedy receiver that can get past you. But this year, he can do it all. You've got to respect his speed. With Troy Smith back there as QB, that's a tough combination. But it's a close race with him and Jarrett. He's a nice receiver.
Brian (Maryville IL)
What was it like playing against such speedsters as Ginn and Gonzalez?
Aaron Ross (8:50 PM)
I didn't get to play against Gonzalez. I was matched up with Ginn. He's a speedster.
Brandon (NJ )
how badly did colt's injury really affect the outcome of the KSU game
Aaron Ross (8:52 PM)
I think it changed the momentum of the offense quite a bit. Colt is our leader. He's our QB. In practice, he gets the huddle together and the offense revolves around him. Losing your QB changes the flow of the game. It also changes the defense, because the offense isn't flowing as well. It threw it off quite a bit. K-State came to play. Their QB was money on every ball he threw.
Buzzmaster (8:52 PM)
Thanks to Aaron!
Buzzmaster (8:52 PM)
He's got a big ol' chain around his neck. He's a cool dude.
Buzzmaster (8:53 PM)
He told me that he was really hoping for another shot at Ohio State, because he thought they would have given them a better game after getting some experience throughout the season.
Chris (Burlington KY)
Lets talk to Troy Smith.
Buzzmaster (8:53 PM)
Believe me we are efforting that one big time. Though I can't tell if he's here or not.
Aly (Atlanta, GA)
did that water ever show up???
Buzzmaster (8:54 PM)
No!
Buzzmaster (8:54 PM)
Kirk Herbstreit is over in the corner playing Patrick Willis in EA Sports' NCAA football.
Buzzmaster (8:54 PM)
I'm trying to figure out who's winning.
Lou (NJ)
any chance of Ray Rice?
Buzzmaster (8:54 PM)
He's just off to my left. I'm trying to get his attention.
Eric (Perrysburg, Ohio)
Aaron said they exchanged looks so he's gotta be
Buzzmaster (8:55 PM)
Getting Ray is a good possibility at some point, so send in your questions for him.
Jess (Bentonville, AR)
D-Fad again! I missed him. boo
Steven (Ohio)
Kirk will whomp on im all day. Thas my boy Herby go get em!!
Aly (Atlanta, GA)
Do you think Rutgers should have still gotten a BCS bid over Boise State?
Eric (Perrysburg, Ohio)
Get Kirk over here. I need some help with my Bowl Mania picks.
Sam (Norwalk, CT)
Boise State was guaranteed a BCS bid for their finish in the BCS standings. It wasn't a choice.
Jon: Harrison, Arkansas
McFadden doesnt need to eat. He needs to chat.
Buzzmaster (8:57 PM)
A man with bigger arms than my waist can do what he pleases.
Buzzmaster (8:58 PM)
Though I almost stole the cheesecake Steve Slaton brought over and was eating while chatting.
Sam (Norwalk, CT)
WE WANT BRADY! WE WANT BRADY!
Buzzmaster (8:59 PM)
I don't know if he's come over to th e Club yet. He was on a plane the last I heard.
Nate (mich)
Whos the biggest cat there
Buzzmaster (8:59 PM)
Well I'm not sure, but I think Joe Thomas is sitting in front of me.
Buzzmaster (8:59 PM)
Big dude, I tell you.
Buzzmaster (9:00 PM)
Hang on! Ray is here!
Brian (Maryville IL)
Ray, how did it feel to beat Louisville and have the crowd rush the field?
Ray Rice (9:00 PM)
That was the best feeling ever.
Tom (Louisville)
Ray which was the best game you most enjoyed playing in this year? Louisville or WVU??
Ray Rice (9:01 PM)
Honestly, both. I have to say both. Even though we beat Louisville and lost to WVU. Playing both of those teams was a great feeling.
james (pittsburg)
ray, do you think the big east gets cheated in the bcs?
Ray Rice (9:01 PM)
I think sometimes we get overlooked. I don't know about the toughest conference, but I think we have a tough conference.
John (Tipton, IN)
What is the best ride at Disney World ?
Ray Rice (9:02 PM)
It's actually my second time here. I'm going to go find out tomorrow.
Baby (Michigan)
Ray, how do you rank yourself in comparison to McFadden, Hart, and Slaton?
Ray Rice (9:02 PM)
I think we are all great backs. I try not to compare ourselves. We're all at the dinner. Look at them all, we're all happy with what we accomplished this year.
Ryan (cleveland)
at what point in the season did you guys realize that you were real contenders?
Ray Rice (9:03 PM)
Since Game 1. We knew what we wanted to do this year.
Corey (marlboro nj)
Do you want revenge on cincinnati
Ray Rice (9:03 PM)
No, I don't see revenge. Obviously, we have a chance to play them next year. We'll just have to do things differently.
Mark -FL
How good of a coach is Greg Schiano? Any scare of him going to Miami?
Ray Rice (9:04 PM)
Coach is a great coach. He already made it clear that he's staying at Rutgers.
Buzzmaster (9:04 PM)
Ray had to jet. Someone just walked by that he had to catch before he left.
Buzzmaster (9:05 PM)
It looks like we will get Joe Thomas. Hold on!
Bob (Houston)
For playing a non-glamorous position, how does it feel to be a finalist for a lineman award? Do you feel like you've gotten the respect of the college football world?
Joe Thomas (9:06 PM)
Yeah, I guess any time you are a finalist for the major award as well respect as the Outland, it means you have the respect of the college football community.
Jake (Grand Rapids, Mi)
Joe, How much different is college football compared to high school football?
Joe Thomas (9:07 PM)
Obviously, all of the players are bigger, faster, stronger and the game requires you to take your mental aspect to a different level.
Chris (Munising, Mi)
Joe who was the Toughest D-lineman you faced all year?
Joe Thomas (9:08 PM)
I'll say Lamar Woodley was the best I had to face this year. He had the rare combination of great speed and great strength.
Steven (Ohio)
Did you want to play Ohio State to proove that Wisconson is a better team than people think?
Joe Thomas (9:08 PM)
Definitely would have been a good matchup with Ohio State and us this year. I really think we would have gotten more respect if we had played Ohio State.
Mark -FL
Joe, you think you got left out of BCS, (you were 11-1)
Joe Thomas (9:09 PM)
Yeah, I think the rule of only taking two teams from each conference is kind of a bogus rule, especially when they added a fifth BCS game.
Dave (Ohio)
Joe how does it feel to have an amazing 11-1 year and going to a great bowl game?
Joe Thomas (9:10 PM)
It's a great feeling, being able to play in the Capital One Bowl game. We think it's going to be one of the best bowl games. It could even be better than some of the BCS bowl games.
Aly (Atlanta, GA)
When did it all start to come together???
Joe Thomas (9:10 PM)
I think after we played Michigan so tough and had them on the ropes. We realized how good of a team we could be.
Chris (Munising, Mi)
Any certain Nfl team you would like to go to next year?
Joe Thomas (9:11 PM)
Any team that's picking in the top 5 I want to go to.
Ryan (cleveland)
Hows john stocco doing?
Joe Thomas (9:12 PM)
He's doing really well. He's right on track to play in the bowl game.
Joe (Dallas, TX)
How do you think the D will contain McFadden?
Joe Thomas (9:12 PM)
I think it's going to be our greatest challenge of the year to try and contain him. He's a great player who will probably be the best player we faced all year.
Steven (Buckeye Nation)
National Title prediction??
Joe Thomas (9:12 PM)
Big 10 all the way.
Bronson (New Philadelphia,OH)
Does P.J. Hill give you guys your props for opening big holes for him?
Joe Thomas (9:13 PM)
Definitely PJ is a very humble young man who has turned into an outstanding running back.
Eric (Perrysburg, Ohio)
Did the coaching change dramatically affect Wisconsin's program?
Joe Thomas (9:14 PM)
No, I think the transition from Coach Alvarez to Coach Bielema was seamless. I think Coach Bielema was oustanding this year.
Nolan(Akron)
After watching P.J. this year, how good do you think he can be?
Joe Thomas (9:14 PM)
I think he can be one of the top two or three running backs that have ever come out of Wisconsin.
Buzzmaster (9:14 PM)
Thanks to Joe!
Buzzmaster (9:15 PM)
That guy is HUGE!
Buzzmaster (9:16 PM)
Score update - Herbie is West Virginia and Patrick Willis of Ole Miss is playing as Ole Miss. Herbie's down 14-7 in the fourth quarter.
Steve (Ann Arbor)
buzzmaster i want your job
Dianne (Minster, Ohio)
Buzzmaster,How great is your job?
Buzzmaster (9:17 PM)
As of this very minute. I'd say pretty darn great.
Nate (mich)
which teams are they playing with
Buzzmaster (9:17 PM)
Herbie - West Virginia. Willis - Ole Miss.
Mark (Toms River NJ)
Buzz tell Herbie to put in Brown! It worked vs Rutgers!
Jon Arkansas
Figures....SEC is the best there is
D-Mac (Miami, FL)
Willis Representing the SEC!
Moe Mich
Jeez Herbie make a come back!
Buzzmaster (9:18 PM)
3 minutes left in the third quarter. I thought it was the fourth. Still plenty of time for Herby.
Eric (Perrysburg, Ohio)
Slayton will make a big run to tie it up, just you watch.
Mike (NY)
Buzz, you are working overtime tonight. You better not be tired tomorrow morning.
Matt (NoPo, MD)
The SEC is by far the best conference.
Steven (Ohio)
COMON HERBY YOU CAN DO IT!!!! Why wernt you Ohio State??? Comon Herby remember where you came from. (Hahaha)Once a Buckeye always a Buckeye.
Brian (Maryville IL)
Herbie needs to play for OSU like the old days
Scott (Columbus, OH)
Herbie is a Buckeye... He will make a comeback!
Chris Westland MI
BIG 10 is the toughest confrence SEC is nothing compared to the big 10
dave---hot springs village arkansas
ray---tremendous season for you and rutgers. I was really hoping for an ark--rutgers bowl to see you and dmac go head to head.
Dustin: (Razorback in Baton Rouge, LA):
Interesting how many Razorbacks are in the chat.
Brandon (Richmond, IN)
Or be the Irish and throw a play-action streak to Samardizja..works everytime.
Eric (Perrysburg, Ohio)
This is me procrastinating my college essays.
Shakor Toledo, Ohio
I really dont see how you can compare any two confrences they all have there different styles of play
Sam (Ann Arbor, MI)
Chris, sorry, but own it ... the SEC has all but 2 teams at .500 or better. They claim 5 top 20 teams ... the Big Ten has 3, and Wisconsin played nobody.
Josh (Jacksonville, FL)
The "Big Ten" is more like the Big Two. The SEC is full of tough teams.
Bronson (New Philadelphia, OH)
I think Herbie and Mel Kiper hibernate in a cave during the off-season.
Buzzmaster (9:22 PM)
Have you ever seen them on TV as the season winds down. They always look tired to me.
Joe (OC Cali)
any christmas trees in the house, buzz?
Buzzmaster (9:23 PM)
Not in the Club here, but it's very weird being in Orlando and seeing houses decorated with Christmas lights, and palm trees with stars on the top.
Matt (NoPo, MD)
Head to head is a good way to compare.
Buzzmaster (9:24 PM)
Hey gang, I think we're going to start wrapping things up here.
Buzzmaster (9:24 PM)
Sorry for not getting Troy Smith. He was tied up doing some other stuff, so we couldn't get him on.
Steven (Ohio)
No TROY??? Bummer
Buzzmaster (9:25 PM)
Yeah, I'm sorry Buckeye Nation.
Dustin: (Razorback in Baton Rouge, LA):
Thanks, Buzz.
Eric (Perrysburg, Ohio)
aww man
Buzzmaster (9:25 PM)
