Chat with Archie Griffin
Griffin, the only back-to-back and two-time Heisman winner in history, captured the trophy in 1974 and 1975. His Ohio State teams won four straight Big Ten championships and went to the Rose Bowl four times, while compiling a 40-5-1 record. Griffin ran for 5,589 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns.
Since 1994, Griffin has worked with Wendy's to present the Wendy's High School Heisman. From a highly select field of 15,000 nominees, Wendy's will bring 12 finalists to New York City to reveal the one male and one female national winners (Sunday, 6:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2). Fans can view the finalists and their profiles at WendysHeisman.com.
Each Wendy's finalist, chosen by a judging panel, receives an all-expenses paid trip to New York City to participate in the Heisman weekend's festivities, a gold medal, and a $1,000 donation for their high school. Each winner winner will receive the coveted Wendy's High School Heisman crystal trophy and an additional $2,500 donation to his or her high school.
In addition to working with Wendy's, Griffin serves as President and CEO of the Ohio State University Alumni Association. He is also a member of the College National Football Foundation Hall of Fame, the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame, the Ohio State University Sports Hall of Fame and the Columbus Public Schools Hall of Fame.
