Mario (Jackson)
I think the Saints can pull it off Sunday
Mike (Grand Rapids, MI)
Had to sign Anderson because Delhomme is hurt, Grossman stinks, and Trent Green is going against the Ravens. I'll take the 14.2 points I got from Anderson

Alex (Brooklyn)
COLTS falling apart?
Mike (Grand Rapids, MI)
Cubs sign Jason Marquis. Put him with Rich Hill, Zambrano, Ted Lilly and the Cubs have a pitching staff to go with the offense. GO CUBS!
THE PULSE (1:11 PM)
At least they'll have a pitching staff where they'll pay their pitchers to actually pitch and not be on the DL, like they have the lsat few years.
Sam (Indianapolis)
Go Irish. Beat the Tigers!
Mike (Grand Rapids, MI)
The two highest paid set-up men in baseball: Prior and Wood.
Sam (Indianapolis)
Who is Rich Hill??? Lilly cant pitch and Marquis couldnt even look good on the Cardinals staff.
joe (latham)
anderson is awful in the pocket...that team is just awful perimeter wise...im happy winslow got knocked on his butt for tlaking trashhes awful
Joe (Chapel Hill,NC)
NC State isn't even on the level of UNC hiring Butch Davis. It will be a long season in Raleigh
et (st. cloud,FL)
yea wat happend to the colts
Alex (Brooklyn)
Rich Hill in his first bullpen apperance gave up a grand slam to Jeter. Imagine his E.R.A. after that game it was 36.00
Mike (Grand Rapids, MI)
Rich Hill was a rookie last year who got me mad points in fantasy baseball.
Ted (Boston,MA)
What's with overpaying guys in baseball the past few weeks?
Megan (Tustin, CA)
Duke by 30?!?! Thank you for giving me a much-needed laugh.
Mike (Grand Rapids, MI)
Hill had a few shaky starts after his mid-season call-up but settled down and pitched extremely well in September
Alex (Brooklyn)
Andy Pettitte when he was getting that deal he was probably smelling the money. I'd say he doesn't do as well from 95-03, he goes 14-12
Alex (Brooklyn)
Wisconsin beats Marquette by 7. 57-50
Mike (Grand Rapids, MI)
I'll still take the 276 with 1 TD. I started Grossman last week and got -6.4
Sam (Indianapolis)
Maurice Drew and Fred Taylor are so lucky. They probably wont even get tackled tommorow.
Tim (Miami,FL)
Nice one Joe! Go Canes! go ACC!
Kerry (Columbus, OH)
Can't wait to see Troy Smith bring the Heisman Trophy back to Columbus, OH (for the 7th time).
Sam (Indianapolis)
Carmelo is the MVP this year.
Sam (Indianapolis)
Butler has no one besides Purdue left on their schedule. Hello undefeated going into the NCAAs.
Alex (Brooklyn)
Colts at the end of the year are going to go 13-3 and the Cowboys will go 10-6, just like we thought!!
THE PULSE (1:21 PM)
We've got Tim Kurkjian coming up next. He'll be breaking down all the Hot Stove action.
George (Pittsburgh,PA)
Local media around here has said that Mark Whipple(Steelers QB coach, former UMASS HC) has taken the BC job.Good hiring for BC when it's a done deal.
Alex (Brooklyn)
And the JEts will go 10-6, and will definitely make the playoffs!
Alex (Brooklyn)
No J.r. has a better chance of winning M.V.P!!
Steve Bunin (1:23 PM)
Waddup Pulsites? Happy Saturday to ya'all. So ... what's the best CBB game of the day: UCLA/AandM, UW-MARQUETTE OR UW-GONZAGA? I prefer the in-state rivalries, so I'll go the 2 UW games...
Brian (Chicago, IL)
Go cubs
Alex (Brooklyn)
Tony Romo is superb, but what will the Cowboys do with Bledsoe? Tony Romo has no playoff experience so I'd say the Cowboys will lose in the wild card game.
Anthony Yuhan (highland, Indiana)
what is in store for the cubs next season, what do project their record to be next season, and what other players do you think they will sign?
Franco (Bloomfield)
METS... ZITO.... NOW!!!!
Jeff (New York)
Yankees...Zito...Now
Mike (Grand Rapids, MI)
I don't care if their pretending to be the Yankees of the midwest but did the Cubs buy their way into the play-offs?
Steve Bunin (1:25 PM)
Mike, you're kidding, right? Just cause they spent $70m on Marquis and Lily doesn't make them #2 and #3 starters. They're #4 and 5 guys, and after Carlos Z, they still don't have a reliable, 3.50ERA kind of guy.....
Ted (Boston,MA)
That's true Steve!
Joe (Bronx)
Yankees...Richie Sexson for Carl Pavano...Now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Justin (PA)
I gotta go with UW-Marq bc Dominic James is so fun to watch. And Alando Tucker is a beast
Alex (Brooklyn)
Cards=91-71 Cubs=85-77 Astros 71-91 Reds=81-81
Steve (Dallas)
Hey Pulse! Soory I'm late. Things to go to, late nights.
Matthew (Eupora, MS)
Mississippi State and South Alabama will be the best game... GO DAWGS!
Alex (Brooklyn)
Cubs go 85-77
Jake (Massachusetts)
Clemens will be wearing a red sock in May!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Steve (Dallas)
Mark Mulder and Barry Zito have visited the Rangers. Man, if the Rangers got both of them, watch out!
Alex (Brooklyn)
Yanks, no more pitcher trades
Ted (Boston,MA)
Jared Dudley's a beast!
Steve (Dallas)
What's on tap today besides all the Heisman canadites?
THE PULSE (1:33 PM)
Paul Maguire will be on. Dennis Rodman will be on later. Andy Katz.
Dave (Flagstaff, AZ)
Lot's of talk here in AZ about Mulder becoming a D-Back.
Mike (Grand Rapids, MI)
Zam-1, Hill-2, Prior(?)-3, Lilly-4, Marquis-5. There's the rotation. Cubs=95-67
Dave (Flagstaff, AZ)
Wishfull thinking, Mike. I'm sure you can just go ahead and scratch Prior.
Ted (Boston,MA)
Mike's bin drinking too much Cubbie Kool-Aid.
Steve (Dallas)
Lot's of talk here in TX about Mulder becoming a Ranger.
Steve (Dallas)
Last time we saw Andy Pettitte in a Yankees uniform, he performed very poorly.
Alex (Brooklyn)
There's no way the Cubs get that record
Adron (Austin)
Cowboys 35 Saints 32
Alex (Brooklyn)
AYYY!! Ak. 47 is andre kierilinko
Jimmy (New York)
Everybody Listen!!!!!!!!!!! Mulder,Zito, and Lidge all on the Yankees within the next 2 months
victor alexandria, la
what time will andy katz be on the pulse?
THE PULSE (1:38 PM)
He's next!
Vince (Greenwich)
The Hot Stove is like the WWE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saad (Baltimore)
Everyone is talking about chicago what about about Boston signing all these big time free agents
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
what time will paul be on?
THE PULSE (1:41 PM)
He's after Andy Katz.
Alex (Brooklyn)
How is Duke #9, that's where Pittsburgh was last year
Dominic (North Arlington, NJ)
Hey Andy, UCLA is currently ranked Number 1 in the nation. There has been many great games already this season. At the end what team do you think will be ranked #1? When do you think Knight from Texas Tech University will get first place for most wins?
Dave (Flagstaff, AZ)
Somebody tell Jimmy in NY that Steinbrenner's approach to buying titles instead of bringing up talent is not working so well lately.
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
What about detroit going out and getting Gary Sheffield
Share (West Orange, NJ)
I hear all the experts saying that Michigan would beat Florida but think Florida should go to Glendale. If the goal of the BCS is to put the two best teams together why choose Florida.
THE PULSE (1:43 PM)
Good question. We're going to be discussing who should be No. 2 with Paul Maguire. Who do you guys think?
THE PULSE (1:43 PM)
Not who should be playing OSU in the BCS title game, but who would win, Florida or Michigan.
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
that makes no sense to me either Share
Dave (Flagstaff, AZ)
Hey Pulse, we should have a "no BCS complaints" rule to this chat.
Josh (Rockville)
Florida should be #2 because I think Florida's defense and 2 QB offense will be alot more challengiong to OSU than Michigans O and D
Josh (Rockville, MD)
Florida. Florida O with 2 QB would marvel Michigan D and Florida D would stiffle Michigan O
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
Michigan is a much more physical team
Ben (Virginia Beach)
I must give it to the fast florida defence but michigan is a far better team. Michigan special teams would make a big difference.
Dave (Flagstaff, AZ)
So, say Michigan gets their wish and plays OSU again in Glendale. Say OSU destroys them by 30, while Florida goes on to win their bowl game impressively. How empty would we all feel? There would be no closure to such a great CFB season.
adam (ohio)
Isn't the heisman supposed to go to the best player in the country? Brady Quinn is a better player and will have more success in the NFL. If Troy Smith was not on OSU they would still be #1 because of their talent. Notre Dame would be a changed team without Quinn.
THE PULSE (1:54 PM)
What a player may or may not do in the NFL has no bearing on who is the best college player.
THE PULSE (1:54 PM)
There are plenty of very good college players that don't get a shot at the pros.
Dave (Flagstaff, AZ)
Bottom line, Michigan had their shot, OSU had some silly turnovers that Michigan didn't capitalize on. Florida won the toughest conference in the country, and deserves a shot.
Willy (Florida)
Florida should not be in this game. Michigan was robbed and the BCS stinks!!!!!!!!1 End of discussion!!!!!!!!
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
How could OSU destroy Michigan when Michigan only lost to them by 30 AT OSU in the mud pit. And if Florida gets destroyed and Michigan wins then it would be the same thing.
B.H. (Boston via Cleveland)
Michigan has a much more physical line, on both sides of the ball. Big Ten football is usually won in the trenches, not with high school double reverse pass gadget plays.
Rob (Durham NC)
If Troy Smith has the Heisman locked up because of winning important games and not his numbers then why did Vince Young not win last year with a win at Ohio State, a win against Oklahoma, and winning the Big XII championship all before heisman voting?
Dave Cape Coral, FL
Let's see the Dirty South SEC get a shot at these Northern Big-Ten schools. I think you may find SEC can run
Lenny (Michigan)
Brady Quinn will be a better NFL player then Troy Smith!!! Take it to the bank!!
John (Waxahachie, Tx)
stop saying the BCS stinks without a thought to the money colleges get for this system. If you really want to change the BCS you need to include money loss in your proposal.
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
Troy Smith is way better than Quinn
Chris (Cincinnati)
No it wouldn't, Dan. OSU beat Michigan. That will not change even if OSU destroys Florida and Michigan destroys USC.
cesar (new york)
mets are win the world series
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
But the National Championship is SUPPOSED to be the 2 best teams in the country.
Mike (Grand Rapids, MI)
16 team play-off!! The other divisions do it. The other major sports do it. Let the 15 such play-off games represent the different corporate sponsored bowl games and get this done to prove that the chapionship needs to be settled on the field, not by a computer
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
Henne would throw all over Florida's defense. And Woodly would cause havic for Florida's line
vertrelle (houston)
dallas is not the team i think is going to the superbowl and we will find that out tommorow.
Dom (New York City, NY)
MICHIGAN
Bobby (Carolina )
Giants WIN!!! Two words Chris, whatever his name is
Dave (Flagstaff, AZ)
MICHIGAN HAD THEIR CHANCE, DAN!!!! LET IT GO!!!
Saad (Malik)
BALTIMORE RAVENS ARE GOING TO PLAY THE SAN DIEGO CHARGERS IN THE AFC CHAMPIONSHIP
Sal (Los Angeles)
Cubs out in first round playoffs
B.H. (Boston via Cleveland)
Let's put this arguement to rest. The GAME was no where near as close as the final score. Given two unforced (and uncharacteristic mistakes by Datish) fumbles and a 'phantom' pass interference call on 4th and long, the Bucks would have won by 11 points and this all would be irrelevant.
Greg (Los Angeles)
Why are people still talking about college football? This is the worst of all the sports. Every game is a freaking blowout and the BCS is a bunch of crap.
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
Just wait Dave. You will soon cahnge your mind when OSU kills Florida
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
But if Michigan would have recovered the onside kick they would have had 2:00 to score.
Dom (New York City, NY)
MICHIGAN, has a great run defense and tebow would do nothing, Florida is overated, but i do not want to see the same game twice
Jim, Ohio
You say the computers pick the best two teams to play in the bcs championship. If it was the old days before the BCS. Florida was #2 in both polls, so #1 vs. #2. So how can you say it is the computers fault for picking Florida vs. OSU and leave Michigan out.
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
It's not the computers fault, it's the voters.
Mike (Grand Rapids, MI)
Let's face it: OSU-Florida. Michigan out. Can we move on? Please?
THE PULSE (2:07 PM)
Let's.
THE PULSE (2:08 PM)
A little more than 10 minutes until we have the Heisman finalists on, starting with McFadden.
Chris (Cincinnati)
Dan, if you rely on an onside kick to win the game... you probably don't deserve to win the game in the first place.
Dave (Flagstaff, AZ)
Lloyd Carr needs to stop complaining and prepare his team for a very talented and very ticked off USC team.
Dom (New York City, NY)
MCFADDEN WILL WIN THE HEISMAN NEXT YEAR IF HE STAYS AND DOESNT WIN THIS HERE
Mike (Grand Rapids, MI)
I believe that Quinn will not win. The only teams on the schedule that were any good Notre Dame lost to
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
Mcfadden has to stay. He's only a Sophomore
Dylan (Phoenix)
I wouldn't speak so quick Mike. Quinn's pretty good.
Chris (Cincinnati)
I think McFadden is more deserving than Quinn, but Smith will win.
Dom (New York City, NY)
the michigan game not only came back to haunt nd, but will come back to haunt QUINN, because his heisman qb counterpart defeated MICH.
Josh (Germany)
If the Heisman goes to the best player period, it's Quinn. If it goes to the best player on the best team, it's Smith.
Adron (Austin)
Ray Rice got snubbed!
Paul (Pittsburgh)
Quinn won with a bad D and a bad O line and still threw only 5 ints and 35 tds he is easy the best QB but not the best athlete which goes to smith
Ben (Virgina Beach, VA)
The most upsetting thing as a Michigan fan is that the last 2 games could both be considered bowl games, one vs. OSU at ohio, the other vs. USC in california. Tell me that is fair.
Dom (New York City, NY)
thank you, ray rice did get snubbed
Dave (Flagstaff, AZ)
At least we can all agree that Adrian Peterson would have made this Heisman race a lot more interesting. I feel sorry for the guy.
Ted (Boston,MA)
Matt Ryan for Heisman '07!
Wes (Fort Myers, FL)
Arkansas would have a losing record without Darren McFadden.
THE PULSE (2:19 PM)
Darren McFadden up next!
John (Waxahachie, Tx)
Matt Ryan was in my class in high school... it's so weird to see him on TV now. I dont think anyone from Penn Charter imagined him playing so incredibly well at BC... do you think he could play in the NFL?
Dom (New York City, NY)
i was a sophomore when kevin ogletree of virginia graduated my hs, and he will be a great wide reciever, better than calvin johnson
Dom (New York City, NY)
next yrs heisman battle will be ray rice vs darren mcfadden
Dylan (Phoenix)
Darren McFadden will be like Cadillac Williams. A rookie superstar.
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
You actually said something that made since Dave. Peterson would have made a good run for the Heisman.
Josh (Quincy, MI)
Quinn won the Maxwell Award (outstanding player) so shouldn't he therefore win the Heisman too?
Dylan (Phoenix)
McFadden has talent. All Arkansas needs now is every other position and then they're set.
THE PULSE (2:22 PM)
McFadden's on right now!
Dom (New York City, NY)
DARREN, hey how do you like my city, the greatest in the world!!!!!!!
Pete (Cleveland, OH)
No, the last 7 people to win the Maxwell Award did not win the Heisman...last year Vince Young won the Maxwell but Reggie Bush won the Heisman
Chris (Cincinnati)
Josh: They said yesterday on ESPN that the last six (I believe) Maxwell winners haven't won the Heisman.
Adron (Austin)
Unfortunately not the case. VY won the Maxwell and Davey O Brien last year but did not win the Heisman.
Drew (Fayetteville, AR)
Someone said that Arkansas would have a losing record without McFadden. Obviously that guy didn't know about the Hogs backup who is also an All-american and first team SEC. Felix Jones
Dave (Flagstaff, AZ)
The Maxwell is kindof a consolation prize for whoever is runner-up for the Heisman.
Dylan (Phoenix)
Troy Smith look out. Mcfadden is throwing Pass TD's now.
Dylan (Phoenix)
McFadden was sure humble not ranking himself NO. 1. Kind of like a really fast Steve Nash.
Ford (Lansing,MI)
Darren you defintiely were the "do it all back" not only for your team, but in college football this season PERIOD! Congrats on a great season
Ford (Lansing,MI)
But Young won the title ultimately, which finally made all the experts shut up about USC
Brandin (Greenville, North Carolina)
The BCS Championship game is a formality. OSU has already proved they are the best team in college football this year!
John (Waxahachie, Tx)
Do you guys ever think there will be a time in the near future when a non bcs team will have a heisman winner?
THE PULSE (2:28 PM)
Brady Quinn is the next Heisman candidate that we'll have on. He's up at 2:40.
Dylan (Phoenix)
We're done with the OSU conversation.
Dylan (Phoenix)
Everytime I watch Brady Quinn, everythin from his poise to his ability to control the game reminds me of Tom Brady. Even their names are similar.
Dom (New York City, NY)
BRADY QUINN will be a better nfl player than TROY SMITH!!
Ted (Boston,MA)
The Heisman isn't as exciting as it use to be.
Saad (Baltimore)
I have a question for Brady please post it he plays for my favorite team and i think he should win the Heisman
Ford (Lansing,MI)
ND was so overrated this season, and definitely didn't deserve a BCS bowl. THAT is a joke!
Brandin (Greenville, North Carolina)
The Heisman goes to the most outstanding player. Clearly Smith!
B.H. (Boston via Cleveland)
Hard to say. Heisman voting is easily swayed by team performance and national ranking. I'd say not anytime soon
Ben (Virginia Beach, VA)
I hope not, most heisman candidates have carried their team to a championship
Dave (Flagstaff, AZ)
I definitely would consider Ian Johnson. That guy is a HOSS.
THE PULSE (2:32 PM)
Wisconsin up on Marquette early in hoops.
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
Hey Pulse, what's on after the Heisman finalists?
THE PULSE (2:33 PM)
In the 3 p.m. ET hour, we'll have Dennis Rodman, some NBA stuff and NCAA hoops. Stay tuned!
Ford (Lansing,MI)
We're talkin BEST COLLEGE PLAYER! Not who MIGHT BE a better pro
Dom (New York City, NY)
dennis rodman!!!!!!!!!!
Dylan (Phoenix)
Dennis Rodman is coming on the polls. Someone call the INS because there is some illegal alien activity going on.
THE PULSE (2:35 PM)
Yeah, Rodman is going to be on to talk about his new book. Apparently, he's changed his life. The title of his book is "I Should be Dead."
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
Mike Hart has a shot next year at the Heisman
Dylan (Phoenix)
Atleast he admits it.
Ben (Houston)
Just like ND, Brady is overrated. He will be awful in the NFL. You'll see. Right now, though, it's Troy's time, so don't be jealous. Congrats Troy!!
Ford (Lansing,MI)
RODMAN for the Heisman! SHUT UP Ohio State and ND fans!
Ted (Boston,MA)
Let's talk some Hockey!
Dom (New York City, NY)
UCLA STARTING!!!!!!
Dom (New York City, NY)
kk the bruins stink, RANGERS BABY!!
Dylan (Phoenix)
I don't hate Rodman. But any guy who wears a wedding dress while signing books has to be a little crazy.
John (Waxahachie, Tx)
Who is more crazy, the crazy man or the crazy who pays attention to him?
Dylan (Phoenix)
Who cares about hockey. Let's talk about the 2OT thriller between the Suns and Nets. Nash rules!
Ford (Lansing,MI)
Brady didn't show up in the BIG GAMES...PERIOD!
Saad (Baltimore)
ALL HAIL STEVE NASH
Brandin (Greenville, NC)
Dennis Rodman served a purpose for the NBA, he played hard and opened up a door for celebrity life off the court.
Dylan (Phoenix)
I know I'm watching the Pulse to see what you guys mean by "he changed his life".
Ford (Lansing,MI)
Rodman played hard EVERY NIGHT
THE PULSE (2:43 PM)
Brady Quinn on The Pulse NOW!
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
Even Weis said Smith is going to win
Dom (New York City, NY)
Brady, everyone from ND and the HOLY CROSS community thanks you, good luck tonight.
Sam (Indianapolis)
Troy Smith will win the Heisman, but Brady Quinn will win the more important prize, #1 Draft Pick.
Dom (New York City, NY)
beachbody quinn??
Beau, Illinois
Brady showed up big time in the big games. Penn St, GT, Michigan, and USC he had a combined 10 TD's with 1 rushing TD and only 3 interception of which 2 were not his fault! He did this against teams with better talent and more speed while having a shaky OLine! Brady is a big time quarterback
Beau, Illinois
Brady congrats on another great season. Even if you don't win the hiesman you have played a large part in turing ND around and restoring the glory to ND. I look forward to cheering for you in the NFL. Your the MAN
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
But if the Lions take him he is going to be a bust because every guy the Lions draft ends up being a bust.
jacob (baton rouge)
lsu vs nd wont be a game
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
But he lost 2 of his 3 big games
Dylan (Phoenix)
Beachbody? That's funny. That's one of those nicknames they're going to talk about when he is in the NFL.
Dmitriy (Minneapolis)
Good point Dan.
Dylan (Phoenix)
That's true Dan.
Ford (Lansing,MI)
That's right...47-21 against Michigan at home! C'mon let's keep it real! That's not showing up in BIG GAMES
Ford (Lansing,MI)
I agree with the Lion's bust draft pick
THE PULSE (2:48 PM)
Troy Smith is on next after the commercial!
Dave (Flagstaff, AZ)
Quinn will have the unique opportunity of being lit up by his brother in law in the NFL.
Dylan (Phoenix)
What do you expect Ford. Michigan is the second best team in the country.
John (Waxahachie, Tx)
does ND not recruit well? - seems like they don't have the same type of athletes as the elite competition
Brandin (Greenville, NC)
It's not how you recruit, it's how the players you have play together. Look at Wake, Rutgers, Louisville, even Boise State.
Sam (Indianapolis)
Brady Quinn's best situation would be with the Raiders where he would already have a good WR and a good Defense.
Beau, McKay
John, you can thank Tyrone Willingham for the lack of elite athletes at ND right now. Charlie Wies has put together a top 5 recruiting class last year and is on pace for a top 3 class this year.
Rob (Cleveland)
How good are the Browns?
Sam (Indianapolis)
Notre Dame has Jimmy Clausen I can't wait he is great
Dylan (Phoenix)
You're very funny Troy. :(
Dom (New York City, NY)
TROY, since you like ny, come hangout with nick mangold on the JETS!!
Dylan (Phoenix)
Troy Smith has skill but if we're talking NFL, he'll need skill by the ton.
Mitch (Cedar Rapids)
I don't get how Troy Smith can win the Davey O'Brien (best QB), but then Brady Quinn can win the Maxwell (best player.) Wouldn't being a QB winning the Maxwell lock up the O'Brien for you?
Dylan (Phoenix)
Now the Jets would be a perfect fit for him. Him and Lavernious Coles would be a decent combo.
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
The Browns are just as bad as the Lions
THE PULSE (3:00 PM)
Dennis Rodman will be on in less than 10 minutes!
Mike (Grand Rapids, MI)
The Browns need to shore up a pourous run-D but it's do-able. No one is as bad as the Lions
Ted (Boston,MA)
Jeff Samhoweveryourspellhisname would be a great fit from ND going to the Patriots.
Dylan (Phoenix)
Just when I thought I was out you drag me back in.
THE PULSE (3:03 PM)
Marquette is only down three, while shooting 29.7 percent.
Mike (Grand Rapids, MI)
Derek Anderson will make Brown fans forget about Charlie..................Frye
Ted (Boston,MA)
Browns are cursed, must of bin that Chunky Soup!
Jeff (Indy)
Payton and Marvin is the greatest combo ever and that is why they together will contribute to the Colts Super win this year
John (Waxahachie, Tx)
Put Quinn w/ one of the following: Mike Martz (possible), Norv Turner (w/ Alex smith won't happen), Gary Kubiak (possibility), "Mangenius" (doubtful w/ there record). These guys would execute Quinn to his max imo.
Ford (Lansing,MI)
Lions fans are planning another walkout this season for the Bears game
Dylan (Phoenix)
29.7 percent! Sounds like the Trail Blazers on a good day.
Sam (Indianapolis)
The Jets would be a good fit. Brady could play Tom Brady once every year.
Cole (KS.)
yeah but the browns still can beat the chiefsb/c the chiefs d-fense is horriable
Sam (Indianapolis)
29.7 percent is also the winning percentage of the Raiders and Lions combined.
Lewis (Detroit)
Matt Millan has to be one of the worst front offices guys since the guy who sold Babe to the Yanks
Ted (Boston,MA)
Who's the biggest pro bust that won the Heisman? My vote goes to Gino Torretta.
Dan (Dallas)
Is anyone invited to T.O.s birthday bash. I sure can't wait to here about it.
Matt Millen (Detroit)
I stand by my Lions. I have put together a competitive roster.
Ford (Lansing,MI)
We should move the Lions to Grand Rapids!
Dylan (Phoenix)
Have you ever heard of Larry Johnson. He would bring down the Browns D.
Mike (Grand Rapids, MI)
Jets won't get him because of their record. Quinn should start getting sized up for a Lion jersey and then watch his skills disappear like any one else who ever put a Lion jersey on.
Joey (Detriot)
Charlie Ward was the biggest one for never playing a NFL down.
Ryan (Orlando,FL)
Jason White
THE PULSE (3:12 PM)
Oh sorry, Dennis Rodman's new book is "I Should be Dead by Now."
THE PULSE (3:12 PM)
Rodman on ESPNEWS right now!
Ryan (Orlando,FL)
Desmond Howard
Ryan Leaf (Insurance Agency)
I am the biggest bust
Dylan (Phoenix)
I'll tell you how cursed the Lions are. They were this close to getting the Super Bowl and then Barry Sanders decided to retire.
Tommy (Bristol,CT)
Eric Crouch or Desmond Howard, never really special in the NFL really.
Ted (Boston,MA)
Sorry Ryan Leaf, you maybe a bust but you didn't win the heisman.
Dylan (Phoenix)
What's with the tech. diff.?
THE PULSE (3:15 PM)
Yeah, sorry, The microphones weren't working. But we went to commercial and we can hear them talking now.
THE PULSE (3:15 PM)
So, they'll be back on when we come back from commercial!
B.H. (Boston via Cleveland)
Depending how you look at it, I'd say the biggest bust is Ricky Williams.
Jared (Concord,NH)
Look at Andre Ware on the other hand. Heisman winner. #7 overall pick in the draft. He couldn't play at all.
John (Waxahachie Tx)
Lions never had the O-line to do it. You need a good O-line to win the superbowl (its the best kept secret in the nfl). The Lions neverhad the best or top 5
Texans Front Office (Texas)
Mario Willams AKA We should of taken Reggie or Vince
Ray (Dallas)
Ryan Leag isnt selling insurance, he is working as a low level offensive assistant at some university out in West Texas. Insurance might be more lucrative......
Greg (Anchorage,AK)
Good point. But still, the award is supposed to go to the best player in college football (some defly weren't--see white). The best player in college football SHOULD be playing in the NFL, regardless fo whether he was a great "college" player or not.
John (Waxahachie Tx)
I don't know why, I just don't want to give up on a Ricky WIlliams return for superstar season... I feel bad for the guy, dont any of you?
Matt millen (Detroit)
My bet is jake long or lamar woodley to the raiders
Sammy (San Diego,CA)
How about Rashaan Salaaam as a Bust that won the heisman?
Matt millen (Detroit)
You need a qb before a o line
Dan (N.C.)
no I dont feel bad for poor ricky throwing his career down the tubes for some weed, and then when broke comes crawling back to get out of debt. Shmuck.
Ted (Boston,MA)
Sometimes the best college football player is a guy who simply can not transition to the NFL. Eric Crouch is a great example. The kid was an absolutely amazing college football player. He dominated the game for 4 seasons.
John (Waxahachie Tx)
if you dont have an o-line your qb will spend more time on his bottom than on his feet. Show me in the past 15 years a team who won the superbowl with a bad o-line and a great QB.
Dan (N.C.)
I wish I had half the talent he did when he left. Id be a happy successful player.
Jerry (Seattle,WA)
Rashad Salaam. Second place is a tie between Torretta, White and Ron Dayne.
Donnie (El Paso,TX)
Whoever wins the Heisman trophy will not win a NFL Championship that is a fact unless you happen to be a kick returner named Desmond Howard. Looking back in time who has won a championship as a Heisman candidate can anybody name one or more.
John (Waxahachie Tx)
Anyone remember the Boz?
Matt millen (Detroit)
John a qb can be a corestone of a franchise a lineman can't
John (Waxahachie Tx)
As a Pats fan i will never say Desmond Howard was a bust!
TMac (Atl)
Dennis Rodman is a complete moron.
Matt millen (Detroit)
Brady Quinn is going to be bust. He loses the BIG games. Like the fiesta michigan USC ...
Ray (Dallas)
Where does everyone think AI ends up? I say Minny or the Clippers. My bet is Clippers with Livingston and Maggette somehow involved. Thoughts?
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
But you wol still take him, won't you Matt since you always pick bust draft picks
Jim (Clemson,SC)
No Offense to MR.Howard, but he didn't deserve to even win the heisman in '91.But,he did though.
Matt millen (Detroit)
AI in Denver
Dan (N.C.)
AI needs to go to the Celtics. Tandem w/ Paul Pierce and a young core group. It is a great fit.
john (vegas)
ryan leaf is by far the biggest bust...winning the heisman has nothing to do with playing in the NFL
Ted (Boston,MA)
No dan,I don't see it happening now,The backcourt is already crowded with Green,Telfair,Rondo, and West plus Allen too.
Ron Mokry (lake villa il)
Iverson Wallace Deng oh my
Ron Mokry (lake villa il)
but i wouldnt mind the bulls having Iverson
Matt millen (Detroit)
AI needs to go somewhere where he can be a one man show
Ron Mokry (lake villa il)
Allen Iverson is overrated
Nate (Syracuse)
But Ainge isn't one to trade away a young group of players. I really don't see Iverson going to the C's. I'm guessing its going to be a mystery team like like Golden State.
Nate (Syracuse)
Why would the Bulls trade for Iverson when they already have a solid PG in Heinrich? Just doesn't make sense...
Matt millen (Detroit)
AI is a one man show give him to seattle
JKlipp (Milwaukee, WI)
AI is less PG and more SPG... Play him with Hinrich
Paul (Atlanta)
Great. Now "Matt millen" is trying to mess up NBA teams, too.
B.H. (Boston via Cleveland)
How is being the NBA leading scorer time and again being overrated?
J.M (FLORIDA)
Brady Quinn deserves the heisman more.
JKlipp (Milwaukee, WI)
AI is one of the rare players I would pay to see, regardless of team. When the Sixers come to Milwaukee I like to go, even though both teams suck right now. He's amazing and wherever he goes is going to get a player...
Brian (NYC)
just read Sports Guy article, then home page, and sure enough, 8th Bengal arrested...on the way to 10!
Ray (Dallas)
I wonder how many points Dirk would score if he was selfish enough to jack up 28 shots a game.
ray (raleigh)
Ai to Golden State w/Baron? Exciting but unlikely. Going to Denver or Chicago.
Matt millen (Detroit)
Soon the bengals are going to be the zebras
Steve Bunin (3:47 PM)
We outtie, Pulsites - hope you enjoyed D-Rodman, the Heisman dudes, Howland, and the highlights. Bizzye!
Paul (Atlanta)
Having read about the tragedy that is KG's career, I would love to see Minnesota for AI. Of course, the Wolves are so strapped, it'll never happen.
Nate (Syracuse University)
Who wouldn't want to see a three guard set from GS? Davis, Iverson and Richardson? That would be one of the most lethal backcourts in the game...
Matt millen (Detroit)
I can see Mcfadden being a good pro for a team like pitt with a lot of gadget plays
Dan (Grand Rapids, Michgan)
hey pulse, what's after Smith?
THE PULSE (3:49 PM)
The end of the show! We're out of here at 4 p.m. ET!
Matt millen (Detroit)
Chauncy and Rip Hamilton is the best backcourt in the NBA
TED (houston)
I wonder if the cavs could afford A.I. Him with LeBron would be lethal.
LJ (EMPORIA VA)
TROY SMITH WILL WIN THE HEISMAN 2NITE
THE PULSE (3:55 PM)
OK, enjoy the rest of Troy Smith! See you next Saturday at 1 p.m. ET!
