THE PULSE (11:58 AM)
We've got a great show lined up for you today. We'll still be talking about the aftermath of David Beckham coming to America. Send us your comments on what you think of his move.
THE PULSE (12:54 PM)
We'll also be talking NFL playoffs. Let us know what you think about the games!
THE PULSE (1:01 PM)
The Pulse is on TV right now. Run to your computers and TVs!
Mike (Grand Rapids, MI)
I voted for Boise State for the National Champs as they are the only undefeated team
bob (detroit)
do you think that beckams age is going to affect him? in the 2006 world cup he was the same as 2002
AP$ (Iowa)
I heard Beckham has a new movie coming out. Its called Spend it Like Beckham.
Brent (NYC)
are you guys doing something college basketball today
THE PULSE (1:03 PM)
We always have college hoops on The Pulse! We have our "Ask Andy" segment, where Andy Katz will take your questions on college hoops.
AP$ (Iowa)
I bet Ohio State wants to play Boise State now for the National Championship!
ryan (melrose,ma)
Who do you see winning the ACC with Duke being "down"?
Nick (Chicago)
David won't make any big difference in the MLS, Soccer is just not cared for enough here.
Brandon (Minnesota)
Its all about the ravens getting revenge for the colts packing up to go to indianapolis.
ryan (melrose,ma)
These two teams matchup very well. It should be a great game between the Patriots and Chargers.
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
I just can't believe that we're all condemned to another 2 years of Coughlin. Somewhere in Deptford, Wingo is laughing.
Nick (Chicago)
What did I say last week? OSU was overated and they stod no chance against that fast Florida D. Troy Smith should have just ran away with his HT. OSU would have stood a better chance
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
Oh, you mean like the Browns getting revenge against Baltimore? Feh. You lose a team, you steal a team, I don't see much room for a moral stance.
THE PULSE (1:11 PM)
Ephraim R. the producers in the room were wondering when you'd show up. They say welcome. They're disappointed that Wingo hasn't shown yet.
Brent (NYC)
soccer will always be #6 in the US not even beckham can change that
mark (NY)
Florida proved the suppiority of the SEC.
Knicko Johnston City Illinois
Is Colt Brennan going pro? If so, where does he want to go?
THE PULSE (1:12 PM)
We'll ask him when he's on the show!
Jeremy (Columbia, MD)
I think Soccer is actually becoming more appealing than Hockey at this point. The NHL has completely disappeared.
Justin (Buffalo)
There is no doubt in my mind that the saints will beat the eagles. They are "Americas" team right now. You won't even need to have your tv on to here that staduim, trust me.
Nick (Chicago)
The Ravens/Colts game is the only game I'm not sure who to pick. Yea, I'm probablly the only fan in America who is not pick the Ravens, but I can't count out the Colts after the Steelers run last year.
Steve (Dallas)
What up Pulse! Good to be back! I'm read to chat!
THE PULSE (1:13 PM)
What's happening Steve?
Marco (Ny)
Football is the best sport in the world and bringing overrated David Breckham to the MLS is at least a start for the US to enjoy it.
Steve (Dallas)
The NHL All-Star game is in my home town of Dallas this year. It is going to be awesome and your correspondent Steve will be there! I ordered my tickets today!
ryan (melrose,ma)
I think this will be the most interesting game today with Indy going to Baltimore. I'm really not sure what to expect from either team. The weather may play a big factor when Manning steps to line of scrimmage.
THE PULSE (1:17 PM)
We're going to be talking NFL draft with Colt Brennan later in the show. What do you think about his stats?
THE PULSE (1:17 PM)
Do you think he's one of the best QBs in the NCAA?
8th Grader Dawg (Seattle,WA)
I see the game coming down to Hasselback and Grossman. Whoever can eliminate costly turnovers their respective team will be the winner.Go Seattle!!
Nick (Chicago)
All-Star games are awsome. I went to the NBA game last year and i had a blast. The MLB one is pretty cool. The only thing I hate about it is that it counts.
Steve (Dallas)
I really don't want to watch the Seahawks-Bears game because the Cowboys should be facing the Bears.
Austin (Marlia)
i think he has the best arm in football today
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
wow, the pitt ladies auxilliary fan-club-boosters are really intense. i hope andy katz makes it out of there ok.
Joseph (Atlanta)
I think the Hawaii system where the ball is thrown 60 times kind of inflates his stats. I dont think that he will be anywhere near succesfull as he is right now
THE PULSE (1:20 PM)
True, but what do you think about him as a QB. Sure he might throw a lot, but you still have to complete your passes, right?
Graham (Michigan)
I think Colt Brennan is a good college QB. I would have liked to see him in more big games against big name teams. I would have loved to see him play against an SEC defense.
Jeremy (Columbia, MD)
I think Colt is a great QB, but part of it has to by the system and the schedule. Timmy Chang put up huge numbers too a few years back. I'm sure teams are affected by a longer flight too.
Steve (Dallas)
Right, Pulse. He is a real QB and I think he should get to the NFL okay.
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
timmy chang. ty detmer.
Pedro (Tr)
I agree with Nick. I hate All Star games that actually have an impact. They should be for fans ONLY.
Austin (Eagle Point)
Colt Brennan no question is the best Qb in the nation he is a major sleeper dont forget he backed up Lienart in Highschool
THE PULSE (1:21 PM)
Good point Austin.
ryan (melrose,ma)
Alot of people said the same thing about Alex Smith under Urban Meyer style offense.Colt Brennan is the same ideal quarterback to Alex Smith while in college.
Steve (Dallas)
Like the NHL All-Star game in Dallas, Pedro. That one doesn't count.
Nick (Chicago)
I'm still pick a Saints/Pats SB, but the Colts are my sleeprer team. You think this pick could be a reality?
Noel (East Northport, NY)
Colt Brennan, I believe is a better QB than Smith.
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
uhm, c'mon, being a future NFLer's back-up in high school actually says nothing about what kind of player Colt B is.
Eric,Tn.
It would have been nice to see the Yankees win the W.S. after 9/11. The Saints are going to need a little more than America rooting for them to beat the Eagles.
Jay (Ohio)
Can I make a suggestion for the NEXT cover. Abdus Ibrahim. He was drafted into the MLS yesterday at just 15. Nobody talked about it but he is special. Trust me, maybe even better than Freddy Adu.
Austin (Eagle Point)
Calvin Johnson has the best hands in college so does jarret but i think calvin is still the man
Sam (Indianapolis)
I love soccer! I hope Beckham can make me not the only person in America who does.
Joseph (Atlanta)
Correct, he does complete his passes, but I guess we will just have to wait to see who is correct
Sam (Indianapolis)
Who drafted Abdus Ibrahim. I myself am a DC United fan.
Justin (Buffalo)
I love Football(Soccer) as well. It will never gain popularity in the US until the MLS makes big improvements however.
Steve (Dallas)
The only time I watch soccer is during the World Cup.
Eddy (Illinois)
Are you kidding me? Colt Brennan is a product of the system. Before him it was Timmy Chang who broke all the records, remember?
Austin (Eagle Point)
Yes it was good backing up Leinart but he still is an awesome Qb he has the best numbers in the college game and even broke the touchdown record with 56 tds tell me he isnt good
THE PULSE (1:32 PM)
We're going to be talking NFL playoffs later in the show. We've got two games today that we'll be talking about, but we'll also be talking Bears-Seahawks. What is everyone's take on that game?
THE PULSE (1:32 PM)
Bears or Seahawks? Can the Bears finally win a playoff game for the first time in 13 years?
Sean (chicago)
i think Colt Brennan is defintly one of the best QBs in the NCAA...50 TD passes!!! c'mon...thats nuts..its a shame his team as a whole isnt that great
Leo: (New York City)
Peyton Manning will not win, he will destroy the Ravens D!!! YA DIG!!!!
Graham (Michigan)
The Seahawks' offense wont move against the Bears D. It just rides on Grossman and what he is able to do. If he has a good game, Bears blowout. If he has a bad game...I dunno what will happen. Especially with that Bears D.
Sam (Indianapolis)
Bears 24, Seahawks 10. Easiest game to pick.
Justin (Buffalo)
That is exactly the problem Steve. People only take intrest in soccer during the World Cup because the actual league here is subpar.
Elliot (VA)
The Bears will have to hope that the good Rex shows up. I think he will and that defense will perform as well. Bears 24-10.
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
timmy chang wasn't good in the nfl. tom brady never broke ncaa records. stats have way less meaning in football than other sports. and being a high school backup does not mean anything. not getting offered scholerships out of high school DOES mean something.
Nick (Chicago)
Grossman will play well enough to have the Bears win. The D will lead the game, but they will lost to the Saints next week.
Sam (Indianapolis)
O when the Saints, go marching in. O when the Saints go marching in. They will be going to Miami. Because of Brees and Colstin.
Jeremy (Columbia, MD)
I think the Bears defense is not what it was earlier in the season. Tommie Harris is nearly as important to that unit as Urlacher.
Taylor ( Biloxi, Ms )
After all the crazy rides this season, there is no telling who will play in the SB. The Seahawks are capable of beating the Bears. Patriots can beat the Chargers. Colts can beat the Ravens. Eagles have a chance of winning at New Orleans. CHARGERS/SAINTS
Shaun, Ut
Any one who has regularly watched Colt Brennan play, especially in person as I have, can clearly see the difference betwen he and other "system" QBs such as Chang, Detmer, and Smith
Joseph (Atlanta)
The numbers dont tell the whole story. when brennan played aginst quality teams in Oregon St., Alabama, and Boise St., he lost each of them. the only game that he won against a good opponent was against Arizona St. who wasnt that good. Last time I checked winning is more important than stats
Jeremy (Columbia, MD)
A huge key to the game will the control (or lack-there-of) of Devin Hester. If he breaks some long returns, Grossman's job will be much easier.
Timothy (Hotlanta)
Well said Sam. i have to agree with the Saints going to the super bowl simply because they are the least flawed team in the NFC.
Noel (East Northport, NY)
Grossman-3 Picks in the first half. thats my opinionHere are the teams that will winColtsSaintsChargersSeahawksChargers beat coltsSaints beat seahawksSaints beat Chargers
Josh (Florida)
I'm SD's biggest fan right now. I've already said I'm not watching the SB if NE is in it, but you can't go against Brady. Pats win a close one.
Willy (Ny)
Troy Smith is the best QB in the draft period. You have to kidding me to say that all that Troy smith has done means nothing just because he is a few inches small. Whoever drafts him will win a Super bowl in the next five years.
DAN (Chicago)
Bears are going to win the superbowl.
THE PULSE (1:45 PM)
Another NFL game we haven't hit on yet is the Pats-Chargers. What do you all think about that game?
ralph b (jacksonville)
pats by 10 points, LT gets 110 with 1 td but the final will be 20-10
ryan (melrose,ma)
This weekend marks the 5 year annivesary of the Tuck Rule game.Too bad no snow in San Diego.
Josh (Florida)
I think it's going to be a close one. If it's less then a 7 point game, look for Mr. Clutch to perform. Pats 17 Chargers 13
Jeremy (Columbia, MD)
I don't think it is possible to stop LT and also stop Gates. If you commit enough to contain one, you don't have enough left for the other. Vincent Jackson is a talented 6 foot 5 WR flying under the radar too.
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
mixed feelings. on the one hand, i guess i'd like to see SD win, because no one can bear the burden of a Boston team winning another championship. On the other hand, I really enjoy how marty struggles in the post season, and wouldn't mind seeing him blow it.
Noel (East Northport, NY)
'Bolts, plain and simple L.T.-3 T.d.'s Rivers 300 yards passing SD30 NE10
ryan (boston)
It is very possible because this is the pats we are talking about, not the raiders or any other team
Josh (Florida)
Marty should be given 1 more year if he blows it 2morrow. After all, he did go 14-2 THIS YEAR!
Justin (Los Angeles)
I want to think that the Bears can win it but I'm less than confident with Rex in at QB.
Darrell (Morgan City)
I think the Saints will be victorious in today's game. The Saints don't have history on their side, but they have things that other teams don't: heart and consistancy.
Josh (Florida)
On the Bears-Seahawks game, if Grossman has another game with a 0.0 qb rating, Hawks win. That won't happen. Bears 30 Seahawks 10
Noel (East Northport, NY)
but if he loses hes 5-13 in the playoffs......he won't lose till the super bowl though
Tim Waukesha WI
Now that Larry Coker is out at miami do u really think they have a fightin' chance to make it back to a bowl game this up coming season ?
Nick (Chicago)
I reallt REALLY don't trust Rivers, who is basically a rookie. No way he out plays Brady, the best clutch qb in the league.
DELGADO (POUGHKEEPSIE,N.Y.)
THANKS for reminding me about the snowman game.N.E.got there cuz of the refs.5yrs ago
mike (DALTON,GA)
LT is going to run over the patriots, though phillip rivers might struggle.
Bryan (Dallas, TX)
Reggie Bush is the X-Factor in the Saints game. If he can get one-on-one match-ups with the LBs or Brian Dawkins he could be a huge threat catching the ball and he could be the make or break player in the match-up
Jeremy (Columbia, MD)
You say that as if Rivers has to outplay Brady to win. Rivers just needs to play within himself and let LT and the defense win the game.
jay b (chicago)
WE gotta stop blaming grossman... if you give him some time i truly believe that he ll pick seattles defense apart cuz they stink! GO BEARS!
ibn (washington, dc)
i say the bears will win against the seahawks. but they're going to have to rely on the defense and the special teams because rex grossman is not consistent.
Noel (East Northport)
I was on ESPN! maybe i'll get on for playing eventually im only 14 we'll see
THE PULSE (2:04 PM)
That's right Pulsites. Send us your thoughts and we'll get as many of your comments on TV as possible.
sean (chicago)
the bears defence is waaaaaayy to good for the seahawk's O. I was at the game in week 4, and just watching them, you know the bears are going to dominate. and everyone in chicago (including me) is SICK of everyone bad mouthing the Bears. So STOP IT! Final score: Bears 27, Seattle 14
Sam (Indianapolis)
If you guys really want a real experts picks, here they are. Colts beat Ravens. Patriots beat Chargers. Saints beat Eagles. Bears beat Seahaks. Saints beat Bears. Colts beat Saints. BOOYAH!
tony (DALTON,GA)
The bears defense will stop the seahawks, but grossman might lose the game for them. The x factor will be devin hester out of the U. 28-17 bears win
sean (chicago)
does anyone remeber a guy name hester, ya no, he plays on the bears???just wonderin
Sam (Indianapolis)
Start wearing purple!
Jackie (MD)
Does anyone remember a man named Brady who has 3 super bowl rings?
Adam (Cincinnati)
Bears are unbeatable at home, plus the weather, no way the Seahawks offense gets off the ground
Robert (Costa Mesa)
For the price of David Beckham, LA could receive the entire Pittsburg Penguins (Crosby, Malkin ect). I believe LA would like to see a Stanley Cup over an MLS championship!!
Mike (Portland, Maine)
One thing sums it up. Peyton Manning can't win the big game. Period. Ravens 31-17.
Josh (Florida)
Sam, I'm guessing you're a Colts fan. Do you honestly expect Manning to do well against the best defense in the NFL? They have no shot on either side of the ball. Ravens 28 Colts 14
Shaun, Ut
Colt Brennan will be 5 times the NFL QB that Troy Smith will be. I know I don't want T. Smith QBing my team in a championship game
Ricardo (Houston)
Stop all this David Beckham talk. the guy is a complete joke. I am a huge soccer fan and the most annoying thing to me is when people who know nothing about soccer talk about Beckham. How about Ronaldihno? Ever heard of him?
Conor (Chicago)
The bears will kill the Seahawks Hassleback did horrible against our defense in October Bears Win 41-14!
Josh (Florida)
The best game on tv will be the Saints and Eagles. Whoever wins will go to Super Bowl! Will end up being a shootout. Saints 37 Eagles 34
THE PULSE (2:13 PM)
I've got a few college hoops games on the monitors in front of me. We've got Florida on and Kansas, Ohio State. Who is the best team in the land?
Matt (Los Angeles)
I say Kansas just because I hate the other two schools
THE PULSE (2:15 PM)
Well, those aren't the only choices. UNC's in the mix. And, hey, you can make a case for whichever team you want!
Jeremy (Columbia, MD)
I have a sneaking feeling the if Beckham looked like Popeye Jones, no one would know who he is. I don't know much about soccer, but I know his play is not what gets him all of this recognition.
Nick (Chicago)
Florida, until they get beatan in the tourny.
ralph b (jacksonville)
florida is the best team in college hoops. there gonna make it 2 in a row, with bbal and football
Josh (Florida)
Florida, without question! They're going to repeat in both hoops AND football!
Brendan (Raleigh, NC)
Wisconsin Badgers hands down. They have a nice easy schedule over the next few weeks.
Austin (Eagle Point)
i think Florida because they play team basketball know one on that team shines
vick (madison)
wisconsin is the most all around team in the country there the most experienced
Austin (Eagle Point)
i think Florida because they play team basketball know one on that team shines remember there is no i in team
THE PULSE (2:19 PM)
No UNC fans out there, eh? Surprising. They're No. 1 in the polls right now.
Nico (Simi Valley, CA)
Once UCLA gets Shipp back, watch out. UCLA will fly under the radar and will surprise someone.
Austin (Eagle Point)
yes they may be good but they just arent a team like lebron james he is so good but he is the only one that shines and he hasnt got a championship yet so that is why i think florida is the most overall team in college basketball
Josh (Florida)
I like UNC. They're the 2nd best team, but will lose to my Gators in the NCAA championship game.
Erik (Chicagoland)
Big Ten love! Wisconsin is more experienced than Ohio St. Badgers match up well with anyone except maybe Florida
Henry (Ug)
Talkin College hoops in January. Sorry can't do it.
sako (los angeles)
UCLA is the best team in the nation but it is close with the other 3 teams.....UCLA has excellent D and plays team ball with everyone contributing...they play beautifully together
Erik (Chicagoland)
Does college BB even matter until after Super Bowl Sunday? (except maybe Kansas)
sean (chicago)
I HATE UNC i cant beeeeeleeeve they r #1 in the polls. the dukies will turn it around....65 teams get into the tourney and i think well finish in the top 65 in the nation
Austin (Eagle Point)
What about Oregon State picking up C.J Giles the pac 10 wont want to be driving in on OSU anymore
Nico (Simi Valley, CA)
UCLA can defend any team in the nation. Hands down they have the best D and a surprising good offense led by All-American Aaron Afflalo.
Jeremy (Columbia, MD)
Greg Oden looks like "Old Lebron" in the Nike commercials. He's gotta be the oldest looking 18 or 19 year old in the world.
Nico (Simi Valley, CA)
Aside from UCLA, Wisconsin is very good. Alando Tucker and Brian Butch are very solid and can play w/ anyone.
Erik (Chicagoland)
Watch-Coach K again proves his genius and takes his currently struggling team DEEP into March.
Brendan (Raleigh, NC)
I just moved to the Raleigh area from Madison... and I can't stand all the UNC/Duke stuff around here. I'm excited when I get to go to Chapel Hill and Durham in March to watch my Badgers in the tournament.
Henry (Ug)
None of this talk matters until the big knockout tournament in march. We will get nowhere with this.
Josh (Florida)
Two teams to watch out for this year: Clemson and Nevada! One or mabey both can sneak into the elite 8 this year.
Nico (Simi Valley, CA)
Nevada's nothing without Nick Fazekas. Clemson needs to show they can beat good ACC teams ala Maryland.
Brian (TX)
The college basketball season really doesn;t matter. We think we have it figured out until a Geroge Mason suprises all.
Nico (Simi Valley, CA)
Two teams to look at: Washington State and USC. Even though I love UCLA, both teams are very good, beating Arizona and Wichita State respectively.
joe (tampa,fl)
I thought BC would be a good team to challenge in the ACC.What has happend to them?
ryan (melrose,ma)
I expect the Colts to lose by 10 points today. Manning needs a signature playoff win, which he lacks - and I don't think today is the day
Nico (Simi Valley, CA)
UCLA/USC today. It'll be a close game w/ UCLA winning.
Josh (Florida)
Actually, it doesn't matter untlil the Conference tounrnaments in late February early March!
Curtis (Winnipeg, Canada)
Texas is the team to watch for, Kevin Durant can do it all for the Longhorns.
Brent (NYC)
allright im out see you next week
sean (chicago)
the NCAA regular season is the least important in all of sports.
sean (chicago)
put me on tv!!
THE PULSE (2:37 PM)
Send in something other than "put me on tv!!"
sean (chicago)
am i the only one who thinks the MLS is going to become a new NASL...bringing over aging stars from different countries and making them celebrities?
Nick (Chicago)
Gators are dominating.
Josh (Florida)
I don't really watch college hoops til Super Bowl is over. February and March is all about college hoops and NASCAR to me.
Ryan (Medford,MA)
The loss of Craig Smith to the NBA has really hurt BC this season. No worries though, they still have Jared Dudley though.
Jeremy (Columbia, MD)
How would I get one TV? I'm missing something here. Did I already have something on?
THE PULSE (2:40 PM)
You were on TV. We try to take all the good comments from here in the show and get as many of them as we can on TV, during The Pulse!
Nick (Chicago)
I'd rather listen to K-fed than watch soccer, and that's saying something.
Justin (buffalo)
The MLS will be mediocre as long as we keep sending our best young players to Europe. You can bring Ronaldo here when he is 40 and no one will care.
max (minnesota)
i think this is the perfect time for beckham to come to the US, because many people still have the awesome thoughts of the world-cup still in the back of their mind.
Josh (Florida)
Hockey is better then soccor, and I don't know anything bout it except that Sidney Crosbey fella. Hockey is for people up north.
Erik (Chicagoland)
Another January and another Archie Manning, "Get 'em next year" speech to Peyton
max (minnesota)
I think Oakland and Al Davis HAVE to take a QB with the first pick. If they take Calvin Johnson they can expect another leader-less team, and another horribly sub-par season.
Prashant (Dallas)
Watch out for Marquette if they make it to the big dance
Thomas (Chicago)
Watch out for Wisconsin, Alando Tucker is the Player of the Year right now and they will make it to the Final Four, if not then farther
sako (los angeles)
UCLA/USC just tipped off....ima huge UCLA fan but USC has been playing well lately, i got the bruins winning it in a close one
max (minnesota)
upcoming few days should be interesting with the underclassmen deadline to enter the draft approaching
sako (los angeles)
the pac-10 is as a good a conference as ive seen in a while......more than half the teams are very solid and they have the highest rpi amazing conference, more than a handful of teams having a chance to take the pac-10
THE PULSE (2:51 PM)
Tennessee just tied it up against Ohio State. 59-59 with 3.5 minutes left.
THE PULSE (2:51 PM)
Terps up on Clemson right now with a minute left in the first half.
Erik (Chicagoland)
Great call Sports Nation---13% say Giants in SuperBowl vs. 12% Bears. R U serius?
Brent (NYC)
bruce pearl is a amazing coach
dustin (mi)
thanks for the update
sean (kivlehan)
Mr. Oldest 19 year old in the world will take OSU to the top
Brent (NYC)
how about 56 percent say duke can not recover
max (minnesota)
kelvin sampson is better than pearl; look at what hes doing to indiana.. and he doesnt have a lofton on his team.
THE PULSE (2:57 PM)
Gang, we're going to be talking NFL draft in a little bit with Todd McShay. Got anything you want to ask him?
Erik (Chicagoland)
Those are probably the two scumiest coaches in the nation. Sampson on the verge of sending his team to probation and Bruce "the rat" Pearl.
Josh (Florida)
NASCAR season starts in a month. Can't wait 2 go 2 Daytona.
Charles (Oakland)
Why do people disregard all the the ability and success that Troy Smith has had just because he isn't 6-4?
Montaey (Greencastle, in)
I hopefully colts wil be wins over ravens tonight....
Ryan (Medford,MA)
Hi Todd,If you were a Gm what player would you want to build around from this years NFL draft?
Brad (Louisiana)
Because he is not taller than the players in front of him...he needs to just accept his 2nd round status and come in and prove why he is worthy of a first round selection. Drew Brees did it and so can he
THE PULSE (3:04 PM)
Who would you all take as the No. 1 pick in the draft?
THE PULSE (3:04 PM)
After watching JaMarcus Russell in the Sugar Bowl, I'm not so sure he isn't the best player in the draft.
Charles (Oakland)
Troy Smith no doubt.
max (minnesota)
In Oaklands case, I'd take Brady Quinn. His arm strength is unmatchable, he has a bright future.
James (Michigan)
I would take Russell, who else can throw 85 yards, yet alone with accuracy! Not to mention he weighs 270 and can run.
Montaey (Greencastle, in)
i would like brady quinn go to cleveland brown, look pretty a chance as improve of offense. who will be might help with brandy quinn.
Calvin Johnson (Atlanta)
What the Raiders need is a receiver. Its me they oughtta pick first!
Charles (Oakland)
I want troy Smith and a lot of other fans around here like him too.
Joe Thomas (Madison, WI)
The Raiders need someone to protect Andrew Walter. They will benefit from an Offensive Lineman such as myself.
max (minnesota)
Charles, Troy Smith is not nearly talented enough to go #1. Maybe late first around... more realistcally second after his performance in the national championship...
sean (chicago)
both oakland and detroit need a QB so id take Quinn then Russel. Calvin Johnson is the best player in the draft, but hes not what oakland or detroit. they both need a leader and a QB is a great place to start
Charles (Oakland)
Jamarcus is getting so much attention just because of that sugar bowl game. he is definitely good but not #1 overall good.
Nico (Simi Valley, CA)
What the Raiders need is a coach. They need someone who will instill order. Then they should look at Quinn, so the Chargers can beat the snot out of Pretty Boy as I call him.
Charles (Oakland)
People don't pay enough attention to the actual performance of the players. Instead you look things like the 40 time and great players like troy smith get short changed.
Andrew (Ohio)
Actually Troy is pretty athletic and his 40 probably descent.
Erik (Chicagoland)
I doubted Vince Young and I'm going to doubt Troy Smiths NFL talent so 1 for 2 is not bad
Andrew (Ohio)
Its hard to tell who will and who wont succeed at the pro level. Their are plenty of examples to show us that.
Ben (Iowa)
Vince Young is waaaayyyyy better than Troy Smith.
Josh (Florida)
Troy Smith's stock has fallen a lot cause his game gainst UF. He's not in the top ten and mabey even top 15.
THE PULSE (3:28 PM)
Yeah, but he was never in the top 10 or top 15. Mel Kiper has always had him as a later first round pick.
justin (buffalo)
hey knowing the Raiders they will probably screw it up even worse and take reggie ball or something.
Brent (NYC)
we dont care about soccer. we care about football americano
Josh (Florida)
I was a Smith believer til Monday. Now I think Russle is the best qb out of the draft. Best player, actually.
Ben (Iowa)
I know a lot of people don't like Brady Quinn but he is the best pure passer I've seen in a long time. He also has been playing under an NFL coach for the last two years. He's going to be great.
Andrew (Ohio)
He hasnt proved himself in the big game
Charles (oakland)
WHat?! How can ypu say Quinn is better Smith. Troy Smith outplayed him everytime they met. And Brady Quinn has had far more bad games than Troy Smith.
Josh (San Jose, CA)
smith wont out run defenders in the pros
aaron (indiana)
charles in oakland, its apparent that the big ten was 10 times worse than we thought it was and OSU's schedule was completley soft
Josh (Florida)
Everybody said Vince Young was a bust. He proved them wrong, just like Brady Quinn will, if he goes to Cleveland or Tampa.
Ben (Iowa)
I don't think Brady ever even played Ohio State.
Ben (Iowa)
Brady's got the same problem Payton had. He's getting the blame for his team's poor performance. There are 11 men on the field not just one.
BRADY QUINN (SOUTH BEND)
I WOULD RATHER RETIRE THEN PLAY FOR THE RAIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TROY SMITH (OHIO)
I DO NOT WANNA GO TO THE RAIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Charles (oakland)
i did not here anyone call Ohio state or troy smith a product of a soft schedule until they lost to Florida.
Joseph (Midd. NJ)
Listen, u guys r all debating about who should oakland draft with the first pick, but if im the raiders, im lookin to trade down because oakland has so many needs!
Josh (Florida)
No body wants to the Raiders. THE RAIDERS NEED TO RETIRE!!!!!!!!! They're horrible
Josh (San Jose, CA)
ND played ohio state in fiesta bowl last year
Erik (Chicagoland)
It was the Sugar Bowl one year ago Ohio St. Beat Down ND
THE PULSE (3:38 PM)
We're going to be taking a live look-in at Clemson-Maryland on The Pulse.
THE PULSE (3:38 PM)
Maryland's up by 8 with 8.5 to go.
THE PULSE (3:38 PM)
Clemson is the final remaining unbeaten in college hoops.
THE PULSE (3:38 PM)
Check it out!
Charles (Oakland)
this is the beauty of sports. we will see who has a better career in the years to come.
Josh (Florida)
I agree with you Joseph, but I don't think they will trade down. Even though Russell is the best he won't have success if he goes to the Raiders.
Joseph (Midd. NJ)
The best CFB and CBB combo in the country is Florida. No doubt.
Ben (Iowa)
It was the Fiesta bowl 20-34 and both of them had good games. However, Brady was facing a much harder defense in Ohio State.
Andrew (Ohio)
Osu played ND in the Fiesta Bowl not the Sugar Bowl and it was close til the 4th qtr
Erik (Chicagoland)
Oakland has a good D if they werent on the field 35-40 min/game. They need Norm Chow, J. Russell, and 2 years to contend
Ben (Iowa)
The Raiders have Randy Moss. They could go on a hot streak if they get a QB that can get him the ball.
Sam (NY)
LIons=Calvin Johnson don't you see
Josh (Florida)
You talking bout Culpepper? You can have him. They need each other. In fact, Brady Quinn can go to the Phins and make them a contender. Go Phins!
Andrew (Ohio)
The Raiders could get a couple of descent QBs in the draft the position is deep
kelly (new hampshire)
Erik (Chicagoland) you are wrong. it was the fiesta bowl NOT the sugar bowl
Josh (Florida)
I don't know whose worse: The Raiders or Matt Millen. That's a good topic to debat on.
Sam (NY)
No kidding, but Oakland will pick another bust
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
It does not matter who the Raiders draft. On another team, Robert Gallery is a superstar, Randy Moss is a superstar, Sapp, Jordan...they can draft freakin' Superman and he'd shread his ACL and get clipped for a DUI before their bye week.
Ben (Iowa)
The big ten needs to move their season back a week or two so that they'll quit getting embarassed after nearly a two month layoff
Peyton Manning (Indianapolis, IN)
How are you gonna stop a 6'5" 230 pound QB with a lazer rocket arm?
Joseph (Midd. NJ)
If OAK decides not to trade down, look for them to trade for Mike Vick and draft Adrian Petererson. Then ATL will try to draft Brian Brohm because Petrino coached him before.
Josh (Florida)
I don't care who they pick as long as it's not Russell or Quinn. They will have great success if they're on the right team (PHINS MABEY!?)
Josh (San Jose, CA)
shouldnt u be preparing for the ravens in lik 45 mins peyton...
Ephraim R. (Maple Shade, NJ)
In other words, these last years of the Al Davis era will be remembered as the place careers went to die.
THE PULSE (3:52 PM)
We've got some great college hoops on ESPNEWS right now. Wisconsin getting upset and Maryland leading Clemson.
THE PULSE (3:52 PM)
We're jumping around from game to game.
Aron (Yohannes)
I love the raiders man there my team but this is what we need to do plain and simple:Get a GOOD QBGet a OL(trade porter or moss)Get a decient TE that can block
Aron (Milwaukee)
