Chat: National Signing Day!
![]() |
Starting at noon ET many of the top recruits in the country will stop by to discuss why they chose a particular school and what their expectations are for the coming seasons.
This past season, true freshman Tim Tebow (pictured), helped lead Florida to their first national title since 1996. He was second on the team in rushing (478 yards) and led Florida with eight rushing touchdowns. He also threw for 358 yards and five touchdowns. Which in-coming freshman could have the same impact in 2007? Could it be one of the 22 recruits that will stop by to chat on Wednesday? It might be too early to tell, but we'll be talking about that and more all day long on Wednesday. Don't miss your chance to chat with some of college football's future campus heroes!
Check out the schedule for Wednesday, as well as each player's Scouts Inc. Insider RecruitTracker

Buzzmaster (12:02 PM)
We're all glad that you could stop by.
Buzzmaster (12:03 PM)
We have a full list of recruits on to chat today. The first will be Carlos Dunlap, a DE who is going to be signing with Florida today.
Buzzmaster (12:03 PM)
He'll be here at 12:15.
Mike(Charlotte)
Buzz, any chance of getting some coaches on today or is it strictly recruits?
Buzzmaster (12:04 PM)
It's going to be recruits. Coaches are too busy making sure their guys actually sign.
Buzzmaster (12:05 PM)
They're talking Joe McKnight on ESPNU right now.
ryan (melrose,ma)
I'm glad your making this chat possible,Buzz.
Mike Las Vegas, NV
Any word on Mcknight?
Buzzmaster (12:05 PM)
We're waiting to hear the official word.
Sledge (Bham, AL)
Don't worry, Mike, I don't think UNLV is in the running for McKnight. I kid. I kid.
Thomas(Alexandria, VA)
Who has the inside track on McKnight?
Buzzmaster (12:08 PM)
Looks like LSU for now. But USC is right on their heels.
Buzzmaster (12:08 PM)
McKnight's going to be announcing his decision live on ESPNU at 12:10.
Buzzmaster (12:09 PM)
McKnight's live on ESPNU right now.
Chip (New Orleans)
Is that central or eastern time?
Buzzmaster (12:09 PM)
Eastern.
Buzzmaster (12:09 PM)
USC!
Buzzmaster (12:10 PM)
McKnight's going to USC! Now, the Trojans have the top 3 recruits as ranked by the ESPN150. That should be a huge bump to them in the overall recruiting class ranks.
christopher Dallas,Texas
Awe man!! that sucks.
Jon Mesa, AZ
Yeah thats the top three recruits eat it Gators!
Phil (Syracuse, NY)
Sour grapes over here.
Robert (WI)
I hope Jimmy Clausen follows in the long line of sucessful notre dame quarterbacks like Rick Mirer and Ron Powlus!
Mike, Chicago
Oh USC!! How exciting! No one good ever goes there. Gosh, i'm at a loss.
Dan (Chicago)
Wow. I did not see that coming.
Vince (CA)
Told you about 5 minutes ago Buzz..just let me break the news.
7th Grader(Seattle)
Joe McKnight is going to USC?that fool! USC already has Marc Tyler,he'll never get the playing time.
Erik (SAn Diego)
Fight On baby... FIGHT ON!!!!
Matt, Los Angeles
Now that McKnight is going to USC, what are they going to do with the log-jam of 5 star running backs?
Buzzmaster (12:12 PM)
It will certainly be interesting to see what happens next year. They had a log jam last year and now they're adding the top two RBs from this year's class.
Chip (New Orleans)
Well, there goes LSU's chance of having a good RB...sigh
Hal (New Orleans)
Big blow to LSU....he was a hometown boy....Les needed to keep him here
David (San Francisco)
Yeah, a dominant 2 RB system worked out real bad for LenDale and Bush
Jeff New York, New York
There is a big rumor around Gator country that there will be a huge surprise today. Buzz, have you heard anything?
Buzzmaster (12:14 PM)
I haven't heard anything yet.
Hertz (LA)
Easy decision for McKnight...Easy schedule + media darlings = National Championship!
Buzzmaster (12:15 PM)
We're getting Carlos Dunlap right now!
Buzzmaster (12:16 PM)
His coach just went to get him.
Gator Matt (Chicago)
Congrats and welcome to Gator Nation! We are thrilled to have you on board!
Gary..Jax, Fla.
Carlos, Just wanted to say welcome to the Gator Nation...
Kenny Gainesville, Florida
Carlos, welcome to the Gators
Alex (Miami, FL)
Hey Carlos, does UF winning the National Championship this year do anything to sway you decision to go there?
Carlos Dunlap (12:20 PM)
Yes and no. It did have a little effect, knowing that they won the national championship. What I like about Florida was Florida itself. Its environment and the school.
Grady,FL
Carlos, Red shirt or play right away? Glad your a GATOR!
Carlos Dunlap (12:21 PM)
I would like to play right away. If I come in and work hard, I think I can play right away.
Andy (Gainesville)
Carlos, isn't it great to be a Florida gator? Do you feel there is a lot of pressure having to replace Jarvis Moss?
Carlos Dunlap (12:21 PM)
Filling Jarvis Moss's shoes won't be a big thing. I'll just have to come in and work hard.
Parker (Birmingham)
Carlos, how does it feel to have the whole recruiting process over with and have the ability to focus on the rest of your senior year and preparing for the fall? GO GATORS!!
Carlos Dunlap (12:22 PM)
It's a relief. Knowing that I'm going to be spending my next four years at a good school and getting an education is an honor, knowing my hard work has paid off.
Rob, Gainesville, FL
It appears that Florida will get a few D-lineman...how many much will they play
Carlos Dunlap (12:23 PM)
Florida rotates their defensive linemen a lot. Whatever way it goes, I'll be in the rotation. The better I get in there and work hard, the better off I'll be.
David (Titletown, FL)
Glad to have coming to join us down here in titletown. What was the biggest factor in you choosing UF?
Carlos Dunlap (12:24 PM)
When I went down there and saw the family environment. I got to know the coaches' family and had a lot of direct contact with the coach and his family.
Carl (Roswell)
Carlos, have you ever had a thought of attending a mid-major school, such as Central Florida?
Carlos Dunlap (12:25 PM)
No, not really. I really liked most of Florida's big schools.
Willie (Portland, OR)
So who do you think you're game (style) resembles? Are you as fast as The Freak - Javon Kearse?
Carlos Dunlap (12:25 PM)
I'm a mix between Dwight Freeney and Julius Peppers.
Joe (Blacksburg VA)
What is your opinion of the whole recruiting process?
Carlos Dunlap (12:26 PM)
It's real fun. It's great. You get a lot of attention. It's always good attention. You'd rather get noticed for going to college than not going at all. I'm very grateful for it.
Carlos Dunlap (12:26 PM)
Although waiting until the last minute to take visits can get overwhelming.
Brendan, Gainesville
Hey Carlos would you say LE or RE is a better fit for you?
Carlos Dunlap (12:27 PM)
It doesn't matter. I'll play them both. In my senior year I played left end, my junior year I played right.
DCGATOR(Washington,DC)
Carlos, what are you going to major in?
Carlos Dunlap (12:27 PM)
Maybe business management, computer technology and maybe forensic science. Something in there along those lines.
Carlos Dunlap (12:28 PM)
It's great to be a Florida Gator!
Buzzmaster (12:28 PM)
Thanks Carlos!
Mike(Charlotte)
Buzz, were you recruited out of high school?
Buzzmaster (12:29 PM)
I was, but then the school discontinued it's sleeping on the couch and watching college basketball team, so I was out of my scholly.
Buzzmaster (12:29 PM)
Next up is Kevin Rouse who's going to Wisconsin!
Buzzmaster (12:31 PM)
Kevins Rouse is here!
chris (plymouth, WI
Kevin. Congrats on signing. Do you think you can contribute for sconsin your freshman year?
Kevin Rouse (12:32 PM)
Thank you. I do believe I can. If I can reach my potential and work with the coaches, I think I can contribute one way or another.
Ross( Madison, WI)
WHAT UP new Badger LB great! You'll love it up here. Can't wait to get you on the field to continue the greatness of BADGER Defense. I'll be roaring at Camp Randall for ya! How exicited are ya to get started?
Kevin Rouse (12:33 PM)
I'm very excited. Sometimes, I wish I could have graduated early. I'm real excited. I'm going up there a little at spring break. I loved my official. I can't wait to get up there.
Mike, Chicago
Kevin, why the change of heart on Iowa?
Kevin Rouse (12:34 PM)
Essentially, I think I made the decision too quick. I think that's happened to a lot of kids. You get nervous about it. There were a lot of other factors that I don't want to talk about. But I made my decsion and I'm not looking back.
Chris (OR)
What's more appealing about Wisconsin: the 10 months of winter or the annoying accents?
Kevin Rouse (12:34 PM)
Oh, the 10 months of winter! I love the cold. That's Chicago weather.
Greg (Milwaukee)
Hey Kevin welcome to badgerland! What was it with Wisconsin that made you change your mind? Did the success of coach Bielema have anything to do wiht it?
Kevin Rouse (12:35 PM)
Yeah, that was definitely a big factor. He proved himself, he didn't have to but he did. He proved himself as he could be one of the best.
Dan (Boston, MA)
Well anyways, congrats on going to Wisconsin, gonna have a nasty team this year, how do you think you will contribute to it?
Kevin Rouse (12:36 PM)
I think I can go in the rotation early hopefully. I know there aren't that many linebackers coming in. It's better for me not to get redshirted that way. I think I can be a special teams player too.
Kevin Madison, WI
Mr. Rouse how excited are you for the future of the Badger program and what about the program attracted you? Im guessing it might have something to do with the great game-day atmosphere.
Kevin Rouse (12:37 PM)
Coach Bielema, I think they have a chance to be top 10 every year. The game-day atmosphere is really great. It was unlike anything I had ever experienced.
adam (rockford il)
did notre dame recruit u hard and if they did why did u choose wisconsin?
Kevin Rouse (12:37 PM)
They did not recruit me hard. Early on in the process they talked to me at school, but they were never really on my wish list. It would have been nice, but the past is past.
RJ (Milwaukee,WI)
Kevin, considering Wisconsin's success over the last decade why do you think they've had some problems being a top 5 recruiter? go badgers.
Kevin Rouse (12:38 PM)
I don't really know the answer to that. I don't really know about their past recruiting history. It seems like this year, they have a good thing going on and that's all that matters.
Robert (WI)
When you came on your visit to wisco, did you jump around before the 4th quarter?
Kevin Rouse (12:39 PM)
I don't remember. Maybe a little bit. I think the score was about 30-3. Everyone was all pumped up. It was cool.
Scott (Lagrange, IL)
Joliet Catholic seems to always produce top recruits...how was it developing in this program....and congrats and welcome to the UW family
Kevin Rouse (12:40 PM)
It was good. There's a good tradition here, especially at linebacker. I learned a lot from my d-coordinator and LB coach. It was a great experience and great developmentally for me.
Ryan (Raleigh, NC)
Do you think you can be the leader of this defense and help bring a title to the badgers
Kevin Rouse (12:40 PM)
That's the ultimate goal. But it's a long way to goal before you can say anything like that. I think potentially yes, but I just have to live up to it.
Nick (Buffalo)
Hey Kevin welcome to the big ten. How much did the outstanding competition every week in the conference play in your decision?
Kevin Rouse (12:41 PM)
It was a big decision. Big time football for me growing up has always been from their league. It's a big factor.
Russ (Dyersville, IA)
What do you plan on majoring in?
Kevin Rouse (12:42 PM)
I'd like to major in some sort of business major, but I'm not sure on the specifics. I'll probably change my mind three times like everyone else does.
Kevin Rouse (12:42 PM)
Good to finally be a Badger. I'm ready to get up there.
Buzzmaster (12:42 PM)
Thanks Kevin. That guy's jazzed to be a Badger.
ryan (melrose,ma)
Buzz,I'd like to break this for you. Marvin Austin has just chosen to UNC.
Buzzmaster (12:43 PM)
There you go. Thanks Ryan.
Dave (Wolcott, CT)
MARVIN AUSTIN???
Buzzmaster (12:43 PM)
GOING TO UNC
Nick (WestlandMI)
Wow, the Heels will be a force in a few years
Jeff (Cleveland)
I'm jazzed to be eating lunch...
Buzzmaster (12:45 PM)
UNC is racking it up today. About 12 players that were in the top 20 at their position.
Buzzmaster (12:45 PM)
Pretty decent.
7th Grader(Seattle)
who's up next?
Buzzmaster (12:45 PM)
We'll have four guys from Lincoln High School in Florida.
Buzzmaster (12:46 PM)
First Tim Lamb and Da'Shaun Barnes are up at 1. Lamb's going to Auburn and Barnes is headed to Tennessee.
Nate (Madison)
UNC/Illinois racking up recruits, crazy.
Robert (WI)
Butch Davis can flat out recruit...imagine what he is going to do next year with a full year to recruit.
Jason (Cartersville, GA)
Speaking of the ACC, Buzz what do you think about Ga. Techs' class.
Buzzmaster (12:48 PM)
They're looking good on the day. All but one of their verbals has signed. Then there are a bunch of others considering the school that haven't yet, but they already have about 20 or so signed.
Ivan Parker ( Los Angeles)
Help us military overseas, no espn2. whats the latest on southern cal
Buzzmaster (12:49 PM)
Cleaning house. They have the top 3 recruits signed. Unreal.
Buzzmaster (12:51 PM)
I forgot. You can also catch the ESPNU signing show on ESPN360 online.
Steve - Washington, D.C.
Buzz, any word on Maryland? Thanks for all the hard work!
Buzzmaster (12:53 PM)
Before the day started, Maryland had a top 50 class, just with their verbals. If they can sneak some others away from other schools, they might be able to improve some. That's a respectable ranking.
Steven, New York, NY
Heard Marvin Austin signing with Virginia...crazy
Buzzmaster (12:54 PM)
Heard wrong, Steve. He signed with UNC. He was just on ESPNU talking about it.
Jeremy (Bellevue)
Hey Buzz whats the word on FSU? Are the Seminoles getting anyone good?
Buzzmaster (12:55 PM)
So far, their top recruit is Dionte Allen, the No. 5 CB in the country. Pretty good get.
tim (baltimore)
uconn get anyone worthwhile? u guys are hustlin thanks for all the updates
Buzzmaster (12:58 PM)
Looks they're doing solid in CT.
Buzzmaster (12:59 PM)
Alright guys we're about to get Tim Lamb and Da'Shaun Barnes in the chat
Buzzmaster (1:02 PM)
Actually Karlin Brown will join Lamb.
Eddie (Alabama)
Tim Lamb- How pumped are you to be coming to Aurburn? Have you ever been to an Auburn-Alabama game, and if not, what are your feelings on this great rivalry?
Tim Lamb (1:03 PM)
I've never been but from what I've seen on TV it looks great and I'm looking forward to it very much.
John (Miss)
Karlin Brown- what would you say is your biggest strangth on the field, and what do you need to work on in order to succeed at the college level?
Karlin Brown (1:04 PM)
Well the game is much faster and more skilled, so I need to work on the decision making and adapting to the higher skill level.
Joe (Maryland)
War Eagle Tim! How did you know Auburn was the right school for you?
Tim Lamb (1:05 PM)
Because I like their style of play. I'm kind of a short player, and I like being in the middle and the way they used thier nose guards is what attracted me to the team.
Ted (Miss)
karlin brown- Is there any chance you would move to safety, the reason being your size (190 lbs)? Would you be comfortable with the move?
Karlin Brown (1:06 PM)
Yeah I'm comfortable, I feel like I have the footwork and speed to do it. I'm physical enough and I feel like I have enough ability to make that move.
Clay (Ohio)
Tim Lamb- With all of the talent that is flocking into Gainsville, do you think that Auburn will be able to pull out another upset this year?
Tim Lamb (1:07 PM)
Yeah most definetly. I give Florida a lot of respect as the champs. But if we are on top of our game I think we can pull it off!
Hank (Mississippi)
Karlin, why did you decide to go to Mississippi St.? What intrigues wou there?
Karlin Brown (1:08 PM)
It was the coaching staff. When I went there the guys really felt like they could turn things around. We are going to turn things around there.
Joey (Garden City)
tim lamb, who in the nfl do you model your game after?
Tim Lamb (1:09 PM)
I would have to say Vince Wilfork, because he is big, and short and stout and explosive off the ball.
David (gainesville)
Do you feel more respect for a program that would guarantee you playing time or one where you have to earn your spot?
Karlin Brown (1:11 PM)
They didn't gurantee me playing time, but everything is open. They love what they see in me, so as long as I work hard I'm going to play.
Elliot - New York
Tim - Congrats on your commitment to Auburn! As an alum and crazed football fan, I can tell you that you will receive the utmost amount of support from everyone around you. What are your expectations for your first season as a Tiger?
Tim Lamb (1:12 PM)
I don't really know right now. I just want to come in and get in shape and see where it goes from there. I'm trying to go in and play though.
Chad (Detroit, MI)
What do you plan on majoring in?
Karlin Brown (1:13 PM)
Right now I'm looking at architecture, my favorite subject was math so it seems like a good fit.
7th Grader(Seattle)
Karlin, who do you try to model your game after?
Karlin Brown (1:15 PM)
I like to model my game after was Buster Davis, because he liked to bend and dip through linemen.
Buzzmaster (1:16 PM)
Ok guys Brandon and Da'Shaun should be joining us soon.
Rob (tempe)
What's the word for ASU? Dennis Erickson getting anything done?
Buzzmaster (1:18 PM)
I haven't seen anything on that yet, but I'll keep my eye out. Seems like Erickson wants to coach all of the Pac-10 teams.
Frank(Newport News, Va)
Hey Da'shaun with the incoming class do think you guys can get the edge over the SEC East?
Da'Shaun Barnes (1:19 PM)
I think we can with the class coming in.
Willie (Portland, OR)
Was there anything you were particularly looking at, when chosing a school?
Brandon Paul (1:21 PM)
Just basicly where I was going to play at the fastest and a good home environment.
Thomas (Murray, KY)
Da'Shaun- First of all, welcome to Rocky Top! Secondly, what position will you be playing at Tennessee? Safety or linebacker?
Da'Shaun Barnes (1:22 PM)
I will be playing LB. It is really all the same to me because I can play SS or LB.
David (Tallahassee)
Brandon,So FSU it is? Do you think you will see significant playng time as a true freshman, and do you think you can fit into a percy harvin type (do it all) role for the seminoles?
Brandon Paul (1:24 PM)
I see myself as a Percy Harvin type. My focus is to try and get playing time, but we have to see.
Jon (Memphis TN)
Da'Shaun you lookin foward to playin in front of 100,000+ on saturdays? nowhere better to play than Neyland! But you should have gotten Tim to join ya!
Da'Shaun Barnes (1:25 PM)
Oh yes sir. I can't wait till I do it, and get to experience that environment.
David R, Atlanta Ga
For any recruit: When did you first hear from a college or realize that they were watching you?
Brandon Paul (1:26 PM)
I heard around my 10th grade year.
Da'Shaun Barnes (1:27 PM)
I also started hearing from schools in 10th grade.
Buzzmaster (1:29 PM)
Alright, the Lincoln guys had to run, but keep the questions coming because next up we have Nick Claytor OT and Josh Nesbitt QB, who are both going to play for Georgia Tech.
Brad (Sydney, Aussie)
Crimey! Yellow Jackets scare me, mate!
Buzzmaster (1:33 PM)
Sorry for the delay everyone, while we wait, what are your impressions of the recruits so far?
Jordy (Louisiana)
L S U!
Willie (Portland, OR)
I have no idea Buzz, what's your opinion, I don't have a t.v. at the office.
Buzzmaster (1:38 PM)
Well I found them to be all very respectful, mature young men. I was actually very impressed with all of them, and how they handled themselves.
aaron(blountstown,fl)
seems like theyve got there head on straight
Buzzmaster (1:39 PM)
Ok Nick and Josh are here so let's go!
Bobby (Gainesville, Ga)
Nick and Josh, congrats to both of you, I look forward to seeing you on the flats. What were the deciding factors in both of you coming to Tech?
Nick Claytor (1:42 PM)
For me it was getting to know the coaching staff.
Josh Nesbitt (1:43 PM)
Just basicly the same thing. The people here were great, and you can't beat the Georgia Tech education!
Timmy (Nebraska)
josh nesbitt- Some have compared your athletic ability to that of Vick...my question is do you see yourself as a scrambling QB, or a pocket passer in college? Which would you rather be?
Josh Nesbitt (1:44 PM)
Me I just see myself as a QB period. I just look at it as getting a job done.
Will (Atlanta)
Claytor- You are one big dude, any chance you suit up right away or will you redshirt? Do you think you can come in and play right away?
Nick Claytor (1:45 PM)
That was something that we talked about, I have a shot, but I need to work hard and learn the plays and then maybe I can get on the field.
Kevin
Nesbitt, are you flexible in what position you would play?
Josh Nesbitt (1:46 PM)
Yeah I would be greatful to play any position, but right now I'm focusing on QB.
Nick Claytor (1:47 PM)
Well I actually commited before, but of course it was great to see them taking care of business in the ACC.
Jimmy D
Claytor and Nesbitt- Did the success Tech had in the ACC last season influence your decision? Do you believe you can keep the ball rolling and get Tech to a BCS bowl game in the near future?
Josh Nesbitt (1:48 PM)
Yeah it had something to do with my decision, but it was more about my education and the people around me.
David (Charleston)
Nick and Josh, please tell us about how close this class is already. How did that happen?
Nick Claytor (1:50 PM)
This class is really close, because we got to spend time with each other and we have the same interests. We've been hanging out with each other and we have a great time, and it has made us really close.
Jacob (Atlanta)
Hey guys great to see talent going to Tech. Josh are you thinking that Steven will have a leg up on you since he enrolled early? Additionally, Nick do you think you will be redshirted since tech is returning 4 starters on Offensive line?
Josh Nesbitt (1:51 PM)
I think he has a leg up on me, but I have to go in and work hard and show him that I should be on the field, and the best man will go on the field.
Rich (Atlanta)
Congrats on being part of the best class in GT's history. How much did that factor into your decision?
Nick Claytor (1:52 PM)
That was the basis of my decision. I mean college is hard, and to have a family like those guys helped me make my choice.
Michael
Josh, too bad Calvin Johnson is going pro. Do you wish you could have played with him?
Josh Nesbitt (1:53 PM)
That would have been a great thing for me, but he is going and we have some very good WRs coming in.
7th Grader(Seattle)
Josh, what are your goals for Georgia Tech?
Buzzmaster (1:59 PM)
Sorry guys especially you 7th grader, Josh and Nick had to go, alot of chaos with all the media on these guys...but next up will be Kerry Neal who will be going to Notre Dame.
Mike (Wilmington)
For Kerry Neal: Kerry, how much were you aware of the recruiting success Butch Davis was having this offseason and did that make it more difficult to shun UNC for ND?
Kerry Neal (2:02 PM)
I've just always been a fan of ND, so no, it really didn't have any influence on me.
Keith (NY, NY)
Kerry Neal - Are you worried about the fact that the Irish have brought in some more fire power on offense, but (other than you), very little on defense?
Kerry Neal (2:03 PM)
Well we are going to be young on D, so it will be good to get some experience. But we lost some guys on O too remember, but I'm not too worried.
7th Grader(Seattle)
Kerry, despite your size will you most likely play Defensive End in college instead of being a pass rush OLB because of the loss of Justin Trattou?
Kerry Neal (2:05 PM)
I really don't know, because we moved to the 3-4 Defense, so I may be a Jason Taylor type player, DE/OLB. And I think the 3-4 suits me well for my style of play, so I'm excited.
B Nasson Jr (Somerville MA.)
Kerry, do you get concerned at all that Charlie Weis may either head back to the NFL o??
Kerry Neal (2:06 PM)
He called me up and text me telling me he was staying, so I believe him.
Nick (Lexington)
Kerry, how do you think youll match up with the other guys on the Notre Dame defense?
Kerry Neal (2:07 PM)
I think I'll match up pretty good, because I'm still growing. My first year might be difficult, but I think I will have success.
Josiah (Bunn NC)
Congrats Kerry on your scholarship, nice to see someone keep their verbal commitment. Being from a small town, what do you think is going to be your biggest adjustment to college, whether it is athletically, academically or socially?
Kerry Neal (2:08 PM)
I think all of those areas are going to be difficult to adjust to. But I will meet them all head on.
sam (miami)
kerry, are you excited to play under someone like charlie weis who has so much experience with winning specifically at the nfl level and do you think that he can help you to get to that level because of his experience?
Kerry Neal (2:09 PM)
I think he really can. I'm very excited to play under him, because he knows what it takes to make it to the NFL.
Chris (MI)
Kerry, what's your initial impression of the new defensive coordinator, Corwin Brown?
Kerry Neal (2:11 PM)
He played for Michigan and was an All-american safety, so just like Coach, I really look forward to working with him.
Kevin ( Scranton PA)
Kerry, do you think the Irish D will be better off in the 3-4?
Kerry Neal (2:11 PM)
I think so. It will free a lot of people up on the edges and allow us to put pressure on the QBs which is very important.
Michael (Ft. Lauderdale, FL)
Kerry, how much did notre dame's tradition and campus atmosphere influence you?
Kerry Neal (2:13 PM)
I was already commited before my official visit, but my visit was amazing, especially when I went to the Stadium and all the students there called out my name.
Jonathan Oakland, CA
Does it worry you that Notre Dame really struggled against major schools like USC LSU Michigan and others?
Kerry Neal (2:14 PM)
Well that will just make us work harder, make us more hungry.
Kerry Neal (2:15 PM)
I have to go but thank you for the questions!
Buzzmaster (2:16 PM)
Thank you Kerry!
Buzzmaster (2:17 PM)
ESPN recruiting analyst Craig Haubert may join us soon, so let's keep the questions coming!
Dan, DC
Why can't Maryland recruit in football or basketball?
Buzzmaster (2:18 PM)
Ouch Dan. Although that basketball title does seem like it happened a very long time ago.
NB (Boston, MA)
How does BC's class look? Will they ever be able to attract the elite recruits?
Buzzmaster (2:20 PM)
Well NB, John Elliot will join us at 2:30 so you can ask him that question. But from what I've heard, it seems like a lot of the BC assistant coaches were not happy with the move to the ACC because they didn't think they could bring in the speed.
ryan (melrose,ma)
One step at a time under our new coach NB.I'm excited too for BC football aswell.
Nick (Lexington)
Can Kentucky be good next year in football
Buzzmaster (2:21 PM)
I don't know, but I did love the Lorenzen years aka the Hefty Lefty years.
Willie (Portland, OR)
BC also has a geographical disadvantage. They don't play any games at schools in the region, and can't recruit warm weather guys to freezing New England.
Craig Haubert (2:23 PM)
Maryland's class is quietly a good class. They have Herald, a safety. They have Washington. They also have a solid QB prospect in Tony Logan out of the Jersey area. He's not your ideal QB in height and weight, but he has to be in the right system. He has a lot of those intangibles. A lof their class is already in and signed. It's something we need to watch.
Paul
Will Noel Devine sign with WVU and if so, whenwill it happen?
Craig Haubert (2:24 PM)
All signs point to him signing with WVU. It's one of those things where we have to see it happen. If it does happen, it's a great fit for him. Not because of the system, but Slaton is already there and it's a place where he can go and get settled in for a year. He has the ability to play right away.
Buzzmaster (2:24 PM)
You're right will. I mean BC has done a great job overall as an athletic program, they are always good at basketball, hockey, football etc. and they have that bowl winning streak, it just seems like they always lose a couple games they shouldn't...ie their last year in the Big East when they lost to Syracuse!
sherm (midland, mi)
Any word on where Jeremy Finch ended up signing at?
Casey (Boston, MA)
I don't know Willie... the most populous state in this year's BC class is... Florida.
Craig Haubert (2:25 PM)
He wound up committing to his third team and it's Florida. In the end Indiana ended up losing it's biggest recruit in 10 years.
T (Gainesville, FL)
How is Florida's class doing today?
NB (Boston, MA)
However, BC's national status has gotten tot he point wher eit should be more successful recruiting than it has though.
Craig Haubert (2:26 PM)
They came into the day No. 1. USC landing McKnight closes the ground on them. Florida's class is not in officially, but right now they're defending recruiting champs are once again in place for that title.
Craig Haubert (2:27 PM)
They've lost some battles down the stretch. Heading to the weekend, they had a chance to be the No. 1 and not have it be a question.
Josh (Normal, IL)
What do you think of ND's class?
Craig Haubert (2:28 PM)
A really big blow to them in losing Greg Little. He switched to UNC. Even without him, they have receiver help in Kamara and Golden Tate. Jimmy Clausen's already on campus. That will go a long way to getting him ready this fall. The question with their defense is that enough.
Nathan (DC)
Craig, any word on how UCLA's class is shaping up?
Craig Haubert (2:29 PM)
UCLA has a solid class. They beat USC on the field this year, but USC is still proving to be the big dog in LA. USC has the 1, 2, 3 players in the country, while UCLA has only one player in the ESPN 150. They have two QBs there. What they have are a lot of players that are out of the top 150, but are good football players. A good example is Akeen Ayers who makes a lot of plays without getting a lot of publicity. They're helping UCLA continue to make strides.
Buzzmaster (2:31 PM)
Thanks Craig! Next up we have John Elliott, OT who signed with BC.
Mod 33B (Clifton, NJ)
Hey John, congrats and welcome to BC! You have a great OL class coming in. Was that a big selling point? How did the coaching change affect your decision making process?
John Elliott (2:37 PM)
I think the biggest selling point was it was a place where I would go to school even if I wasn't playing football; it is a great institution as far as academics and the city of Boston looks great. The coaching change didn't effect my decision...meeting the new coaches was just great.
Casey (Boston, MA)
John, welcome to O-Line University! Do you project to play guard or tackle at BC, and do you think you fit into the zone blocking philosophy?
John Elliott (2:38 PM)
I'm pretty sure I will be playing guard. And as far as zone blocking it is new to me, but it is the wave of the future as far as offenses, and it is very beneficial if you have a RB with great vision. But I think I will pick it up quickly.
Adam (East Meadow, NY)
Two Questions for John Elliot. First big fan of yours, went to a few games this year and you were dominant. congrats on the county championship. First, will you redshirt next year or do you expect to crack the two deep. Second, will you end up as a tackle or guard at BC. GO JETS!!!
John Elliott (2:39 PM)
I'm almost positive I will be redshirting. I think it is the right decision, because it will allow me to grow physically and mentally.
chauncey (teaneck)
what nfl player do you compare your game too?
John Elliott (2:40 PM)
That's a tough one. But there are a few guys I like to watch like Krutz, and D'Brikshaw Furgeson, and some others.
Brandon (Worcestor,MA)
Hey John,Congrats on picking BC.What's your focus for improving while playing for Boston College?Go Eagles.
John Elliott (2:42 PM)
I really want to improve my foot speed and getting off the ball faster to help on the second level. I also want to get lower and get in a better position on players, because everyone in college is good, and you can't just out-muscle them.
Andrew (MA)
John, what do you think BC needs to do to take the program to the next level? Go Eagles!
John Elliott (2:44 PM)
I think right now we're headed in the right direction. We compete every year in the ACC, and I think in the next few years we're really going to break out.
John Elliott (2:45 PM)
Thanks to everyone for coming out and for all the questions. It's great to be part of the BC family and keep an eye on those Eagles!
Buzzmaster (2:46 PM)
Thanks John! Ok next up we have Keenan Robinson OLB Texas.
Mark(Tx)
Keenan what is your goals for next year? do you plan on redshirting or would you rather just get on the field as early as possible even if it is just on Special Teams? Hook'em
Keenan Robinson (2:49 PM)
Right now the coaches don't want me to red shirt. They want me to keep the mindset of playing next year. I want to play next year on special teams and in any other way I can.
chauncey (teaneck)
what nfl player do you compare your game to?
Keenan Robinson (2:50 PM)
I really like all three Broncos LB, who all use their speed to make plays: Gold, Williams, and Wilson. They're great.
Kevin (La)
Keenan Robinson- Was there any doubt you would go to Texas? As a Texas alumn let me just say I am thrilled you didn't go to Oklahoma!
Keenan Robinson (2:51 PM)
There was no doubt once I made my choice, I made my choice.
Nick (Lexington)
Keenan , what influenced you to go to Texas
Keenan Robinson (2:52 PM)
I loved Coach Brown and there was a great atmosphere on campus. But coach Brown is really honest with you, he will tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear and I like that.
Andrew (Ne)
Keenan do you think you will be able to adjust to the speed of the big 12 right away???
Keenan Robinson (2:54 PM)
I think playing in the All-Star games will help me do that, I played in one game already in Florida and they are pretty fast. So playing in the all-star games helped me and I was able to adjust to their speed.
Irving, Tx
Keenan - HOOK'EM BABY!!! Welcome to Austin. With the recruits in this class it looks like UT went heavy on D. What made you choose UT over the other schools that recruited you?
Keenan Robinson (2:57 PM)
Well the coaches really think that we can bring some great speed back to Texas and that was really exciting for me.
Keenan Robinson (2:57 PM)
Well the coaches really think that we can bring some great speed back to Texas and that was really exciting for me.
Keenan Robinson (2:57 PM)
Well the coaches really think that we can bring some great speed back to Texas and that was really exciting for me.
Alan (Oklahoma City)
Keenan Robinson: Hey Keenan, I'm sure it's every Texans dream to put on the burnt orange jersey on Saturdays. How much did loyalty to your home state play into your decision to attend UT?
Keenan Robinson (2:59 PM)
Basicly I moved to Texas in 96, and when we did my dad started rooting for Texas, and so my interest grew every year because my dad was a fan. I am originally from Nebraska so at first I was a Huskers fan up to the age of six, but then I changed over after the move and after my friend Justin Blaylock went there.
Sipp (Pocatello Idaho)
How many Championships are u going to help Bring? I say at least 1 maybe 2! UT Longhorn Football 4 Life!
Keenan Robinson (3:00 PM)
I want to win at least two and I think that is a very good possibility. If we can win three that is even better. But I want to win at least two.
Keenan Robinson (3:01 PM)
Thanks for the questions guys...Hook'em Horns!
Buzzmaster (3:02 PM)
Luther Davis is up next, everyone. He's a D-lineman and he's going to Alabama!
Buzzmaster (3:03 PM)
Luther's here!
Mike (Minneapolis)
Luther Davis: Obviously there's huge hype in Tuscaloosa surrounding Coach Saban returning to the SEC. How far along were you in the recruiting process when this announcement was made and how much did it affect your decision to attend 'Bama?
Luther Davis (3:04 PM)
Actually, I was committed to LSU when I got word that Coach Saban was going to Alabama. He recruited my brother. We have the utmost respect for Coach Saban. I believe in what he's trying to do at Alabama. I know I fit into his defensive scheme.
Ben (Rustin, LA)
Welcome to Alabama SWAT!! How difficult has the few weeks been for you?
Luther Davis (3:05 PM)
It's been really hard for me and my family. We're getting horrible e-mails, threatening messages. People saying this and that. Lots of stuff being said on the Internet. It's been tough on my family. But we've been able to pray every night about it and go on with our day.
Rev. D. Whitt Hibbs Pell City, Al.
Welcome to TIDE Country Luther we are glad to have ya.
Mark (Saint Paul, MN)
This is for any of the recruits. What is the number one factor in deciding the school your going to ?
Luther Davis (3:06 PM)
The big thing was opportunity. I saw a better opportunity at Alabama than I saw at LSU, with playing time and academic support. I saw part of each at the other schools, but this has the best of both worlds.
Clay (Tuscaloosa)
ROLLL TIDE!! Just wanted to let you know Im proud to have you aboard! You are heading up the #1 DT signing class in the nation. How do you feel about playing in a 3-4 defense?
Luther Davis (3:06 PM)
I feel like I'll be more adjusted to it, because this last year, we played a 3-4. I'll make the adjustment. It won't be a problem for me. Thank you for accepting me to the Alabama family.
Alex (NC)
Luther, what has Coach Saban told you about how Alabama's defense will look next year and how you will fit into the plan?
Luther Davis (3:07 PM)
His plan for the defense right now is to play a lot 3-4 but some 4-3. That's where I come into play. He wants to send a lot of guys. Our defense will look similar to the way the LSU defense looked when he was there.
Tye (Birmingham)
Luther, welcome! We are very glad you are coming to Alabama. I really look forward to watching you play in Bryant Denny Stadium!! Roll Tide my friend!
Joey(NY)
Whats your bench max and 40 time ?
Luther Davis (3:08 PM)
It's funny you mention I maxed out on the bench on Monday at 225 for 18 reps.
Miami
did the fact of saban moving from job to job question your commitment luther davis.
Luther Davis (3:10 PM)
I'm the type of person that I don't committ to a coaching staff. They needed defensive ends at Alabama. Coach Saban being there helped, but it won't alter my decision. I think he'll be there for a while.
Justin (Tuscaloosa)
Glad to have you here Swat! Can't wait til this fall. Do you prefer to play Def. End or Tackle? Roll Tide!
Luther Davis (3:11 PM)
Really, there have been a lot of colleges that looked at me as a DT, but I've played DE for most of my life. I prefer to play DE. But if I have to make the switch, I can do it because I played DT some this past year.
Lew (Tuscaloosa)
Luther, you seemed confident earlier you'd make the grades and be here in the fall. How far off from that would you say you are?
Luther Davis (3:12 PM)
I'm one point off on the ACT. I've been taking an ACT prep class and been getting better every Saturday. I'm very confident I'll be there in the fall.
Daniel (Dunlap, TN)
How excited are you about playing for Nick Saban?
Luther Davis (3:13 PM)
I'm estactic really. For a long time, I feared Coach Saban for the coach that he was. Just growing up around guys that played for him. There's a lot of hard work in playing for him. I look very forward to playing for him. Hopefully he'll make me into one of the elite college players.
Wil (KCMO)
What Jersey # do you hope you receive?
Luther Davis (3:13 PM)
I would like to receiver No. 97, but I think it's taken already. I would like to receiver 96 as the next best thing.
Luther Davis (3:14 PM)
To everyone out there that supported my decision and supporting me and my family, thank you. To all the Alabama fans, I'll see you in the fall.
Buzzmaster (3:14 PM)
Thanks Luther!
Buzzmaster (3:15 PM)
Next up is Tray Allen. He's going to Texas.
Baton Rouge, LA
See you in Death Valley LD!
trojan4bama Auburn, AL
Thanks for choosing bama. welcome.
Buzzmaster (3:17 PM)
We're getting Tray!
Buzzmaster (3:18 PM)
Tray's here!
royalewithcheese Houston, Texas
For Trey Allen, did you ever consider the dark and evil atm? Proud to see you signed for the good guys, hook'em!
Tray Allen (3:18 PM)
A-M was a favorite for a long time until one of my friends tried to persuade me.
Bob (Texas)
Tray, Welcome to the 40 acres! You were a fairly early commitment. Would you like to see an early signing period to give guys the chance to avoid some of the hassle from other schools?
Tray Allen (3:19 PM)
Not for the early signing, because that would take away the fun of the hype leading up to signing day. But if kids know where they want to go early, they should go there.
Lew (Tuscaloosa)
Hey Tray, what was the one thing about Texas that was better than everywhere else?
Tray Allen (3:20 PM)
Just the atmosphere. The players. The coaches. The great football at Texas. That sold me right away.
SCOTT(DALLAS,TX)
how does it feel to play in your home state and that you will be play the sooners in the red river riverly in dallas every year the next four years
Tray Allen (3:21 PM)
Playing in my home state...if I went to USC, I wouldn't have the fans that I would have in Texas. no one would know me. To have my home fans is an overwhelming experience.
Tray Allen (3:21 PM)
I've been to the Red Rivalry game the last few years. It's an exciting game every year.
Mike (St. Peter,MN)
Tray, did you ever waiver on your Horns decision after your senior season or were you locked in the whole time?
Tray Allen (3:22 PM)
I second guessed myself once or twice. And every time I did, I talked to my friends and they reassured me. In being around a good group of guys will make for a fun environment.
saint (Miami)
Trey, would you play gurd at texas or are you going to stay at your natural postion?
Tray Allen (3:23 PM)
There's been a lot of talk of me playing guard, but I don't think I will play guard. But wherever I can get on the field to play as soon as I can is fine with me.
Danny (Rio Grande Valley, Texas)
Tray Allen, now that Justin Blalock has graduated...what do you feel you bring to the table knowing that you probably have to anchor and lead this offensive line?
Tray Allen (3:24 PM)
A lot of people have compared me to Justin Blalock this year. It's a great honor to be compared to him. As long as I can get on the field and play to my full performance.
7th Grader(Seattle)
do you think you can make an immediate impact or would you rather redshirt?
Tray Allen (3:24 PM)
I prefer that I won't redshirt and play immediately. That will be dependant on me coming in right away and learning the playbook.
Bob (Texas)
Tray,You have been considered the leader of the 07 class of recruits. Do you expect that leadership to carry into your time on campus?
Tray Allen (3:25 PM)
Yeah, I guess. I just have that natural ability to be a leader. I think it can carry over, because I plan on doing the right thing day in and day out to be a good college student.
7th Grader(Seattle)
who would you compare yourself to?
Tray Allen (3:26 PM)
I guess Jamal Brown or Johnathan Scott.
Chris (Austin, TX)
Tray, what team/player do you look forward to pancaking
Tray Allen (3:26 PM)
I kind of look forward to Oklahoma State. My friend plays for them, so I'm looking forward to that a great deal.
Sean (Austin, TX)
What do you like most about Austin?
Tray Allen (3:27 PM)
Just being around all the guys. It's a big college campus and it's something that everyone should experience. The city's all about sports. It's something that I can fit into. It's all about sports and academics down there.
Tray Allen (3:27 PM)
A national championship is coming to Texas soon.
Buzzmaster (3:28 PM)
Thanks Tray!
Buzzmaster (3:28 PM)
Man, they're showing Florida's class on ESPNU right now - it's crazy. Their top 15 or so are all in the top 10 at their position.
Buzzmaster (3:29 PM)
FYI all you recruiting fans, ESPNU's coverage is now being shown on ESPN2.
Buzzmaster (3:30 PM)
Martez Wilson is up next. He's the No. 1 DE in ESPN's 150 and is headed to Illinois.
Buzzmaster (3:32 PM)
Martez's here!
Jeremy (Champaign, IL)
Martez, welcome to the Fighting Illini!!!! How much of an impact did Juice and CJ have on your recruitment?
Martez Wilson (3:33 PM)
They didn't really have much to do with my decision. They had a little, but at the same time, they told me to go where I wanted to go.
Tim (Chicago)
Martez Wilson: What's up Martez? Congrats on the signing. What makes Coach Zook such a good recruiter - What one thing most impressed you about him and/or the U of Illinois during the recruiting process?
Martez Wilson (3:34 PM)
He's just a cool coach. He keeps it honest and real with you. He lets you know the good things and bad things in life. He lets you know there will be struggles in life, because it will be stressful. That just made me like him more.
Jim
What part of college life are you most looking farward to?
Martez Wilson (3:35 PM)
Getting national exposure, being on TV. Getting talked about on ESPN. And just enjoying college life.
Kurt (Chicago, IL)
Martez, are you calling up players to try and get them to join you at UofI ? Zook had Chris Leak help him at Florida when he was recruited. Bring a winner to the Illini
Martez Wilson (3:35 PM)
Yeah. Before some guys committed, I was calling them. I was trying to call as many players as I could that I think would be interested.
Andrea (Oceanside, CA)
Martez, which Big 10 team are you most looking forward to facing?
Martez Wilson (3:36 PM)
Ohio State.
Corey (Nebraska)
Martez, best of luck in college. You know you will have to play real hard so you can get a good rating on the video games right?
Martez Wilson (3:36 PM)
That's going to be fun, because I've always wanted to be on a video game. I'm ready to work hard at that next level.
Kyle (Chicago)
Martez, being a top recruit you had premier programs offering you scholarships. How did Illinois, which is not a traditional powerhouse and has had some struggles recently win you over?
Martez Wilson (3:38 PM)
Actually they were able to win me over because of the opportunity to come in and play early as a freshman and make a name for myself.
Kevin (Champaign, Il)
Martez, do you see yourself more as a defensive end or Outside linebacker. Welcome to the Illini.
Martez Wilson (3:38 PM)
I'd say a combination of both. Someone that's like Shawn Merriman.
Aaron (Bluntstown, FL)
Martez, what do you think of a little cold weather football?
Martez Wilson (3:38 PM)
Living in Chicago, it's cold. Once you play, your body heats up anyway.
Mike (FL)
Who are your football heroes?
Martez Wilson (3:39 PM)
I would have to say Jerry Rice and Terrell Owens and Reggie White.
7th Grader(Seattle)
what is your biggest advantage over other DEs?
Martez Wilson (3:39 PM)
My athletic ability and my speed. I'm able to play both offense and defense and be good at it. On defense, I can use my speed to get from sideline to sideline.
Andy (Chicago)
Martez, welcome to the Illini. Did any school(s) try to get you to switch at the last minute? If so, what did you tell them?
Martez Wilson (3:40 PM)
Oh yeah. Notre Dame.
Jordy (Louisiana)
Martez, being a former Saints fan, I know Zook is a great defensive mind, do you see him as defensive minded guy and did that have an impact on your decision?
Martez Wilson (3:40 PM)
Yeah it did kind of have an impact. He knows more about defense and he should know a way to use me on defense.
Charlie (IN)
Martez-What stood out about Illinois over Notre Dame?
Martez Wilson (3:41 PM)
Really, I would have to say the comfort level in the coaches. When I went down to Illinois, I felt real comfortable like I was back in Chicago.
Kurt (Chicago, IL)
What was the Army game like for you?
Martez Wilson (3:41 PM)
It was fun. It was more of a learning experience. You were going up against some of the top talent from across the nation. I was able to learn somethings.
Serb
Tez, Sox or Cubs?
Martez Wilson (3:42 PM)
Sox.
Lew (Tuscaloosa)
Martez, you ready to start next season?
Martez Wilson (3:42 PM)
I'm excited about playing next season. I will be on campus June 12.
7th Grader(Seattle)
what is the biggest adjsutment you'll have to make?
Martez Wilson (3:43 PM)
The biggest adjustment is learning the system. From what all the college players tell me, the hardest part is learing the system.
mark(seattle)
do you think yourself to be pro material?
Martez Wilson (3:44 PM)
Yeah. I consider myself to be pro material, because of my athletic ability and my size. It's very rare you find people that are my size and run a 4.5 almost a 4.4.
Buzzmaster (3:44 PM)
Thanks Martez.
Buzzmaster (3:45 PM)
Tyrod Taylor's up next!
Buzzmaster (3:45 PM)
Send in those questions for him.
Steve Upton
Welcome Tyrod!!What's the best part of your game? Go Hokies!
Tyrod Taylor (3:46 PM)
I think I have a very strong arm. I believe I throw the ball very well on the run.
Joe (Blacksburg)
Tyrod, I speak for the whole Hokie nation when I say welcome. Also, what do you think of the atmosphere at Lane Stadium on gamedays?
Tyrod Taylor (3:47 PM)
I was very excited. I've never seen a crowd so into the game. I had a great time.
Andrew in the ATL
Tyrod, Welcome to the nation. Where there any waivers between your verbal and LOI? Thanks and look forward to seeing you in orange and maroon.
Tyrod Taylor (3:48 PM)
No. I never second guessed my committment. I was strong when I made my committment. Now I can't wait to get down there.
Charlie (Arlington)
Did the fact that Tech has no talent at the QB position play a part in your choosing the Hokies?
Tyrod Taylor (3:48 PM)
Yes. That influenced me a lot.
Jesse (Boston)
what did you like most about Virginia Tech?
Tyrod Taylor (3:49 PM)
Of course the academics. They're very big on that. When I went there, I felt very good with the coaching staff and the players. I felt like it was my home.
David(Gaithersburg, MD)
Tyrod, we also love that big OL class that we have joining you...looks like your own security detail...have you had a chance to talk to these guys?
Tyrod Taylor (3:50 PM)
The ability of all the linemen that have committed, they'll probably be my best friends when I get up there. I just can't wait to get there.
chauncey (teaneck)
what nfl player do you compare yourself to?
Tyrod Taylor (3:50 PM)
I would have to say Donovan McNabb, just because the fact that he's a dual threat QB. He has a very strong arm.
Scott (Plano,TX)
What's missing at VT that you can help them get back? They should be top 10 every year!
Tyrod Taylor (3:51 PM)
I don't really know what they've been missing, but I just can't wait to bring my playmaking ability there.
Brad (Richmond)
will you redshirt next year??
Tyrod Taylor (3:51 PM)
My plan is to go there and redshirt. The coaches said it's up to me of whether or not I can learn the playbook. They're putting the decision in my hands.
Tim: (Greensboro, NC)
How do you like the nickname T-Mobile?
Tyrod Taylor (3:52 PM)
That's a very funny name. I've never been called that before. But if you want to call me that, I'm OK with it.
RC (Cincy)
After you gave your verbal, did you expect other schools to back off? Did it suprise you that they didn't??
Tyrod Taylor (3:53 PM)
I did expect some to back off. Some didn't. Schools saw that it was just a verbal and thought they could change my mind. I really didn't pay any attention to the letters that were coming in.
Mike (Manassas)
Do you welcome the Vick comparisons that will most likely be coming your way these next few years?
Tyrod Taylor (3:54 PM)
Yes, I am. I believe he's a great player. I wouldn't mind following in his footsteps. He did make it to the national championship.
7th Grader(Seattle)
what team in the ACC do you feel you have to beat before Virginia Tech becomes the best?
Tyrod Taylor (3:54 PM)
Florida schools - Miami and Florida State. You have to beat those two teams.
Pat (Richmond, VA)
What do you consider to be your best play in high school?
Tyrod Taylor (3:55 PM)
I can't think of one particular play. One doesn't really stand out over the rest.
Russell (Richmond)
Are you going to wear the #5 at Tech?
Tyrod Taylor (3:55 PM)
Yes, I do.
Fred, Blacksburg
Welcome to the Hokie Nation! Will Tech open the offense up for you, more spread options sets?
Tyrod Taylor (3:56 PM)
I haven't talked about certain sets on offense, but I have talked to the coaches and the Tech offense is going to open up some more.
Joe
What part of your game do you most want to improve?
Tyrod Taylor (3:56 PM)
I can't think of one, but I'm going in there to improve all of my game.
Bryant (Richmond)
How soon do you think you'll be able to see significant playing time?
Tyrod Taylor (3:57 PM)
I can't call that right now. I'm just waiting to get there. That's up to the coaching staff as to when I play.
Drew (Cincinnati)
what was the final indicater that lead you to picking vt?
Tyrod Taylor (3:57 PM)
When I was at their camp, I felt very comfortable in being there. Some of the recruits already committed. I just felt very comfortable.
Tyrod Taylor (3:58 PM)
I can't wait to get up there. Thank you for all the support.
Buzzmaster (3:58 PM)
Thanks Tyrod. He was very prompt. Actually called in a few minutes early and left me a message while I was on the phone with Martez Wilson.
Buzzmaster (4:00 PM)
Ok guys John Brantley QB Florida is next
Marvin
brantley- Did Tebow's presence influence your decision?
John Brantley (4:04 PM)
Not really. He is a great QB, and I became good friends with him. When I was there I felt like I belonged and I have been a Gator fan my whole life and I felt like it was the right place for me.
Colin (austin tx)
What is it about Urban Meyer that sold you on his program?
John Brantley (4:05 PM)
Coach Meyer is a great guy. When you get with him you just like him a lot. I've never been around such a great coach. Every time we talked, we talked more about life, and we became great friends.
Shane Oliver Orlando,Florida
John Brantley you are prostyle quarterback, how confident are you that you can run the spread offense of Florida.
John Brantley (4:07 PM)
When I went in there we watched tape and the coaches said that they would adapt the O to the player. And I liked that about the coaches, that they were willing to mold the offense around the player. So I'm confident.
Chuck (Gainsville)
John brantley, how pumped are you to play of the national champs!?
John Brantley (4:08 PM)
It's very exciting. I was there the first time they did in 96 so I'm very excited.
Jeremy (Florence)
Why did you go to Florida with 4 solid QB's now counting you? Just wondering why you didn't go somewhere where you could start your sophomore year?
John Brantley (4:09 PM)
Because I felt like I belonged there and I loved Coach Meyer, and Florida really stuck with me even after the whole Texas thing, and that meant a lot.
Brian (LA)
Being such a big fan of Florida, what initially led you to commit elsewhere?
John Brantley (4:10 PM)
Really because I haven't been out anywhere else. And when I went to Texas it blew me away, and that's what led to my original commitment.
Dan (Titletown, FL)
Do you feel the Gators can now dominate the SEC like under Spurrier?
John Brantley (4:11 PM)
Yes, I think we are just as good now as we were then, and maybe even more. There is just so much talent here.
Kellan (DC)
Have you gotten a chance to meet any of the other recruits yet?
John Brantley (4:12 PM)
I've got to meet a lot of them, I got to meet Wright, Dunbar, Wilts, Edwards. And they are some of the best, and I think we can dominate with them.
Aaron (Bluntstown, FL)
Do you see yourself as the University of Florida's starting quarterback in two years?
John Brantley (4:13 PM)
You know it is hard to tell. It all depends. I hope so, but I may red shirt my first year. Right now it is too early to tell. But I Sure hope so.
John Brantley (4:14 PM)
Thank you for all your support, see you in the Swamp!
Buzzmaster (4:15 PM)
Thank you John! Ok next up is Adewale Ojomo OLB/DE who will be attending Miami.
David (Gainesville)
Adewale...why Miami and not Florida?
Adewale Ojomo (4:17 PM)
I felt more comfortable going with Miami, because I had a full ride, and at UF it wasn't a sure thing.
Kitt (Louiville)
ojomo- do you see yourself more as a LB or a DE?
Adewale Ojomo (4:18 PM)
I see myself as a pass rusher, a DE coming off the edge. But I see myself going up in weight however, by about 40 lbs., and becoming more of a run stopper.
DeMarr (Orlando, FL)
Do you feel you can be as great as other defensive players that atteneded the U?
Adewale Ojomo (4:19 PM)
Yes sir. I think the sky is the limit. I'm an extreme athlete, I just need to work on my game, and work in the weight room, but I do feel I can be one of the best.
Tom (Orlando)
ojomo- you see yourself being able to contribute next season in special teams. . .or even on D, or are you going to redshirt, build up your body?
Adewale Ojomo (4:21 PM)
I'm going to come in there and hit the weight room and whatever happens happens. I feel I can contribute, but we will see. I know I have to work hard, but I do feel I can contribute, especially in the pass rush.
nathan(miami, fl)
Adewale.. how do you feel about the new coaching staff and do you think we can dominate the ACC now? go CANES
Adewale Ojomo (4:22 PM)
I mean everyone has a lot of potential, we already have a lot of great athletes and great coaches. So I do think we can be a dominant team, and I think we will come back to dominate the conference.
Bob (Columbus)
Did the brawl between the U asnd FIU have any effect to your decison?
Adewale Ojomo (4:23 PM)
No sir. I was at the game, and I saw how it happened, it was the type of thing that started between two guys, and I'm not condoning it but it was a thing where guys reacted to defend their teammates. I don't think it is what the U is about, so it didn't effect my decision at all.
Cory K (Gainesville, FL)
What definsive end in the nfl would you compare yourself to?
Adewale Ojomo (4:25 PM)
I would probably compare myself to Kearse because of his versatility, and I like to run guys down. But I'm going to try and create my own name and become my own guy.
Adam Jay Katz (Miami, FL)
How amazing does it feel to be a part of the greatest program in college football history?
Adewale Ojomo (4:26 PM)
It's an amazing feeling, it is a great feeling. It is more like being part of a family than being part of a team.
CP (Jacksonville, Fl)
What is the biggest challenge ahead for you and U football?
Adewale Ojomo (4:27 PM)
The biggest challenge will be getting used to each other, with the new coaches, and I have to adjust to a new system. We need to get a rhythm going, and once that happens nothing can stop us in the ACC.
Fred (miami)
Do you have any connections to former Miami players at all?
Adewale Ojomo (4:27 PM)
No sir.
Adewale Ojomo (4:29 PM)
I have to go, but all this wouldn't be possible without the fans so come out and stand by us. Thanks for all the questions.
Buzzmaster (4:30 PM)
Thanks Adewale! CB Phelon Jones from LSU should be here shortly so send in your questions.
mike
phelon, how do you feel about playing in the toughest conference in the land?
Phelan Jones (4:32 PM)
As usual you go to college the game and it is a lot faster, and I can't wait to step my game up and try to do my best.
Josh(Baton Rouge)
First of all welcome to Baton Rouge. I know you are listed as a CB but do you think you will play any other position, return kicks etc. Also, what number will you wear at LSU.
Phelan Jones (4:33 PM)
I might play some ST, I'm not sure yet. And if it works out I might get #5.
Yancy (Cincy, OH)
What player to you aspire to be like in the pros?
Phelan Jones (4:34 PM)
Probably Champ Bailey, because he is quick, has great hands, and knows how to get to the ball and make plays.
Cheryl (Dallas, Texas)
PJ, what stood out to you most about LSU versus Florida, Auburn, etc.?
Phelan Jones (4:36 PM)
Well LSU only has 4 corners on scholarship, so I can get some time in nickle and dime packages if it works out, and that is great training, and it gives me a chance to start as a sophmore.
Parker Hemingway Haughon, LA
Phelon, First of all congratulations on joining LSU. When do you feel like you will make it into the defensive rotation? Geaux Tigers!
Phelan Jones (4:37 PM)
I think my first year I should be in there, but I have to go down there and work hard and compete and hopefully I will be in there right away.
DeQuincy (atlanta ga)
Are you a heavy hitter or a cover kind of guy?
Phelan Jones (4:38 PM)
I would say I'm a little bit of both.
Champ, Hoover, Alabama
What did you think of the facilities here at LSU?
Phelan Jones (4:39 PM)
They are all really nice. The weight room was one of the best I've seen, and the academic facilities were also great.
Smitty (Baton Rouge, LA)
Welcome to Death Valley Phelon! What was it about LSU that influenced you to sign? Can't wait to see Sidell and yourself on a Saturday night in Louisiana.
Phelan Jones (4:40 PM)
It was probably the family atmosphere I experienced and I made friends with the players who were there; it just felt like home.
Skeeter (Jackson, Miss)
Phelan...can you handle the pressure that SEC receivers will put on you?
Phelan Jones (4:41 PM)
Yes sir I can handle that; it is a challenge that I am looking forward to.
joe (MI)
phelon, many people have said that LSU was probably the most talented and scariest teams to play during the last few weeks of the year...I know Russell is going, but do you think this team can win it all next year?
Phelan Jones (4:42 PM)
Yes I think we can. We have guys who can step in for the guys we lost, and we also have talent that is returning. So I don't see why we won't win it all.
Smitty (Baton Rouge, LA)
LSU's D is only getting stronger with the addition of yourself and Sidell. Also, S Chad Jones just signed. What team are you looking forward to playing out of the SEC? Geaux Tigers!
Phelan Jones (4:43 PM)
Probably Florida since everyone thinks they have a chance to repeat since they have a lot of guys coming back. I'd like to upset them.
Phelan Jones (4:44 PM)
Thank you to all the LSU fans and everyone that has helped me get to this point, and keep watching LSU.
Buzzmaster (4:45 PM)
Thanks a lot Phelan! Next up we have Sam Acho DE from the University of Texas.
Andy (Laf, LA)
good luck phelon, geaux tigers
paul wall (houston, tx)
Who do you compare yourself to in the NFL?
Sam Acho (4:50 PM)
I would say I model my game after Julius Peppers, he's the guy I admire the most.
Andrew (Greenville, NC)
Hook 'em, Sam! Did you get a chance to meet with Mac Duff? Are you planning on filling the big shoes left by Robison and Crowder this next year?
Sam Acho (4:51 PM)
I watched Crowder and Robinson last year and I plan on doing my best to fill their shoes. And if it doesn't happen right away I don't mind waiting my turn.
Nick (Lexington)
Sam , what influenced your decision on going to Texas
Sam Acho (4:53 PM)
It came down to the academics, I plan on majoring in business and Texas has one of the best business schools in the country so that helped me a lot. Texas also has a family atmosphere and that meant a lot to me. Coach Brown is also a big reason why I came to UT; he is one of a kind, and he is a very honest person. He will always tell you the truth. And UT is close to Dallas, my home, so my parents can come out and see me.
Paul (Dallas, TX)
Sam Acho, congratulations on your scholarship to the great University of Texas. Have you talked to the coaches about redshirting? Would you rather redshirt or play during your true freshman year?
Sam Acho (4:55 PM)
Sorry everyone this has to be the last question because I have to get to practice but I am going into this expecting to play and I would take the opportunity to play if it presents itself. If it doesn't happen then I'll redshirt. But I expect to play.
Sam Acho (4:56 PM)
Thanks for all the questions and I'm looking forward to bringing the title back to Texas!
Buzzmaster (4:58 PM)
Thanks Sam, have a good practice! Our next guest will be CB Eric Berry who signed with Tennessee.
7th Grader(Seattle)
what was the biggest factor in your decision?
Eric Berry (5:05 PM)
I would probably say Coach. I saw him a lot through the recruiting process. All the coaches were straightforward with me.
Gabe (Dallas, TX)
Eric, do you think you will have a chance to start right away or will you redshirt?
Eric Berry (5:06 PM)
No, the plan is for me to start right away. I was told I'd be starting if I keep working hard like I am now.
Colin MacGuire (Chicago, IL)
Eric, Welcome to Big Orange Country!! Vol Nation is very excitted to have you on board. What position do you see yourself playing at?
Eric Berry (5:06 PM)
Thank you. I plan on playing cornerback.
Nick (Lexington)
Hey Eric, how do you compare yourself against the other CB on Tennessee
Eric Berry (5:07 PM)
I can't really compare myself to the other cornerbacks, because I never really played CB until the game in Texas.
Ian (Monahans, Texas)
Eric, we've all heard you may get some special packages on Offense. Are you confident that you will see time on the field with some of these packages as a Freshman?
Eric Berry (5:08 PM)
Yes, I'm pretty sure that could happen. As soon as I get comfortable on the defense, I think I could learn some offensive plays.
chauncey (teaneck)
did your dad make any impact on your decision?
Eric Berry (5:08 PM)
I think he did a little bit. I think he did unconsciously. He just told me about his time in college.
chauncey (teaneck)
what nfl player do you compare yourself to?
Eric Berry (5:09 PM)
He's not playing right now, but Deion Sanders. He showed you can be seen on defense if you're making the plays.
Lane (Kukuihaele, HI)
Which coach was it hardest to say "sorry I'm not coming to your school" to?
Eric Berry (5:09 PM)
The hardest one was the d-coordinator at Auburn. It was tough, but Auburn just wasn't for me. It's part of the process and you just have to be a man and tell them.
Sam (Augusta)
Eric what made you decide against UGA?
Eric Berry (5:10 PM)
It was a series of events that occurred with me and Georgia. I just didn't feel as much as I did with Tennessee.
Taylor: (Nashville, TN)
Welcome to the BIG ORANGE Eric! What's your biggest strength and what do you need to work on the most? And will you wear #1?
Eric Berry (5:11 PM)
I would say my natural athletic ability and work ethic is my strength. The technical part of the game is the area I'll have to work on, after not playing the position until the game in Texas.
Kevin (Tenn)
Welcome to the big orange country Eric! We are glad to have you. How is your relationship with some of the fellow commitments in this class, UT or otherwise?
Eric Berry (5:11 PM)
It's been good. We bonded quickly. There were some in San Antonio. We were just ready to get to Tennessee after that game.
Willie (Portland, OR)
Why did you decide on playing corner versus saftey, receiver, running back, etc.?
Eric Berry (5:12 PM)
At cornerback, I see longevity. I see more money, also, to be honest. It's the hardest position to play on the field, so why not play there.
Brice (Tennessee)
What is your favorite thing about UT?
Eric Berry (5:13 PM)
Just the university itself. There's a lot of stuff that's involved in the university. There's a lot of places to go.
Chris (NJ)
Eric, Who are u looking forward to playing most, and do u think you'll have an immediate impact on your team
Eric Berry (5:13 PM)
I would say Georgia.
7th Grader(Seattle)
me and my friend were watching your film and we couldn't believe how fast you were!what do you run in the 40 yard dash like a 4.00?
Eric Berry (5:14 PM)
Lately is was a 4.33 with a cast on my hand. I ran it again and I ran a 4.28 three times in a row.
Eric Berry (5:14 PM)
Thank you for the support.
Buzzmaster (5:14 PM)
Thanks Eric!
Buzzmaster (5:15 PM)
We've had a lot of good recruits on today and we'll finish with two more good ones.
Buzzmaster (5:15 PM)
Next up is Golden Tate and then at 5:30 is Brian Maddox.
Buzzmaster (5:15 PM)
Recruiting analyst Craig Haubert will then be by for the last 20-30 minutes to answer your questions.
Buzzmaster (5:16 PM)
Golden's here!
7th Grader(Seattle)
Golden, what was the biggest factor in your decision?
Golden Tate (5:18 PM)
If I can get playing time. The coaching staff. The most important thing if I can play baseball also.
Nick (Ohio)
If you had your choice, what position would you be playing for the Irish?
Golden Tate (5:19 PM)
I would rather play athlete like I did in high school, where I could run the ball and catch it. I'm really not sure where I would play if I could pick. I just want to play.
Austin: CA
Golden, you have to be the fastest guy we've had since the Rocket. Do you want to play offense or defense?
Golden Tate (5:19 PM)
Definitely offense.
Scott (Chicago)
Golden...what do you think of the movie Rudy?
Golden Tate (5:20 PM)
Yeah, I've seen it a couple of times. I think it's an amazing movie. Some people call me Rudy, I don't know why, maybe because I'm going to Notre Dame. But yeah, it's a great movie.
7th Grader(Seattle)
what was Charlie Weis' biggest recruiting pitch throughout the process?
Golden Tate (5:21 PM)
The thing about I liked about him, it's seem like he cared and he wanted me, but if you don't come here, life goes on. That was neat in a way. I like him. He's straight forward. That was nice.
Tom (East Lansing, MI)
Golden, are you looking forward to playing Michigan with Chad Henne and Mike Hart?
Golden Tate (5:23 PM)
No. I'm looking forward to every game. I don't care who it is. I'm not really looking forward to playing anybody. I just want to play.
Drew (cincy)
Do you think you will be like jeff sumardzija, having to decide between baseball and football, and which one will you choose ultimately?
Golden Tate (5:24 PM)
Right now, I haven't really thought that far. It would be nice to be drafted in both. I really can't pick right now, because it's high school baseball and high school football. I think I will have a better idea after a year or two in college.
Mdawg (South Bend)
Do you feel you were destined to go to Notre Dame with the name Golden?
Golden Tate (5:25 PM)
Some people say that. I don't know what my destiny was, hopefully that's it. I go to a catholic school tomorrow. I love the golden dome and all that stuff. Hopefully I can get a few signs with my name on it or something. Get a few chants.
Robert (WI)
Did Charlie Weis flash his super bowl rings when he was recruiting you?
Golden Tate (5:26 PM)
He really didn't have to flash it, you could see it wherever it was. You could look him in the eye and you could see it in his peripheral. It was hard to look him in the eye, because I was looking at his ring.
Lane (Kukuihaele, HI)
Any fears that Charlie Weis might return to the NFL?
Golden Tate (5:27 PM)
When I went out there, he looked me in the eye and said, I've moved around a lot and I always talk to my family and see what they say. He talked to his family and says his family is happy where they are. He looked me in the eye and told me that he's not going anywhere. I don't think he's going anywhere.
Jordan (Kansas City)
Congrats.... Do your feel pressure because the fact that the offense in the last two years has been so good and now it has to start over?
Golden Tate (5:28 PM)
I don't feel very pressured. I feel like if I find a starting spot, I might feel any pressure. In high school, pressure is when I did the best. With the amazing crowd that we have, I think I'll do fine.
Joe Gilmore (Lebanon, OH)
For Golden Tate: First of all - Welcome to ND, we're very excited to have you in South Bend. What is it about Notre Dame that made you realize that it was the place for you?
Golden Tate (5:29 PM)
People have always been in my ear about Notre Dame. The tradition is what really stood out the most to me. When I went out there, I thought the tradition might be talked up to be more than it was. But I got out there and it was all set up. I just felt really well.
Golden Tate (5:29 PM)
Thank you for your support. I'm glad that I'm part of the family now. Go Irish!
Buzzmaster (5:30 PM)
Thanks Golden! Next up is Brian Maddox.
Buzzmaster (5:30 PM)
He's off to South Carolina.
Drew (Blythewood, South Carolina)
im just watin here for maddox to get on
Buzzmaster (5:31 PM)
He's up next!
Tom (Michigan)
Other than South Carolina, what schools were you leaning on, and why did you choose SC?
Brian Maddox (5:33 PM)
Virginia Tech and Florida were the next top two schools. I went to USC because of the academics and strength and conditioning program and coaching stability.
7th Grader(Seattle)
Brian, who would you compare yourself to?
Brian Maddox (5:33 PM)
Adrian Peterson or Fred Taylor.
Nick (Lexington)
Hey Brian, do you think you can handle the pressure of playing in the SEC
Brian Maddox (5:34 PM)
Yeah, I think I can handle the pressure. Once I get there and take a few hits, I'll be all right.
Mike (Lexington, South Carolina)
Brian, how long do you think it will be before you guys are ready to play for an SEC Championship?
Brian Maddox (5:35 PM)
To tell you the truth, I think it will be next year. We were real close this past season. We lost to Florida by one point.
Drew (cincy)
How did Steve Spurrier lure you in?
Brian Maddox (5:35 PM)
Basically, how he coaches his players. His strength and conditioning program. And the academics.
sean(cali)
wats ur latest 40?
Brian Maddox (5:35 PM)
My latest 40 time is 4.38.
Drew (cincy)
Are you excited to play with Sidney Rice, if he stays?
Brian Maddox (5:36 PM)
Well, I talked to Sidney some. I've been down to some games and talked to him. He told me to make sure I go to every practice and every workout and go to class and I'll be all right.
Rhett (Greenville, SC)
Why South Carolina and not Clemson? The Tigers have owned the Gamecocks for the most part these last few years.
Brian Maddox (5:37 PM)
South Carolina because the coaching stability. Clemson has had some coaching problems, but it just came down to where I felt most comfortable at. I felt we could accomplish more at USC.
Nick (Lexington)
Do you think you will start for South Carolina in the fall
Brian Maddox (5:38 PM)
Well, Coach Spurrier has told me that if I come in and attend every practice and every workout, that I would definitely be able to contribute early. As far as starting, it depends on me and how I adapt to the game.
Joe (Columbia, SC)
Congrats Brian, It seems as though you and several other signees for SC seem to be really close friends and developed a relationship during the recruiting process. I'm guessing that helped get some of the top notch talent right?
Brian Maddox (5:38 PM)
Oh yeah, most definitely. It helped to get some of the other guys.
Tyler (Florence, SC)
Congrats on signing with the Gamecocks and good job on the interview with ESPN. Being so close to Clemson, was it hard becoming a Gamecock? I'm guessing you grew up a Gamecock fan.
Brian Maddox (5:39 PM)
Yes, growing up close to Clemson, it was 15 miles away. Everyone around me was basically Clemson fans. But it wasn't that hard becoming a USC fan.
Bob (Columbia, SC)
Are you looking forward to embarrassing the Clemson Run defense throughout the next four years?
Brian Maddox (5:40 PM)
Oh yeah. I can't wait to do that. Mike Davis and Cory Boyd did it this past season. I can't wait to contribute to that.
sean (california)
who do u modle ur running style afer?
Brian Maddox (5:40 PM)
Adrian Peterson and Fred Taylor.
Brooks(georgia)
how does it feel to be running with 2 very good runnings backs in cory boyd and Mike Davis?
Brian Maddox (5:41 PM)
Wherever you go, there's going to be competition. You can't be scared of competition. I'm just going to go in and work my way up.
Jeff (New Jersey)
What number do you plan on wearing and why?
Brian Maddox (5:41 PM)
Number 10. I plan on wearing that number because that's what I wore in high school. I just want to keep all my fans wearing that number 10 jersey.
sean (saratoga)
do u feel ur lack of size will deter u as a running back?
Brian Maddox (5:42 PM)
I don't know. It just makes me work harder, I guess.
7th Grader(Seattle)
who do you play with in madden?
Brian Maddox (5:43 PM)
Yeah, I do play video games. I did the superstar mode. I got drafted to the Colts. But I really like the Atlanta Falcons. That's who I play with when I play other people.
columbus, ohio
Do you think that you'll be one of the true freshman that will have a starting position?
Brian Maddox (5:44 PM)
I think I can make a contribution and that eventually I'll get to start. I'm going to work hard and work my tail off to accomplish my goal of starting.
sean (toga)
what do u think seperates you from other top back in ur same class?? such as mcnight and marc tyler
Brian Maddox (5:44 PM)
Speed, elusiveness, power. A great student of the game.
Brian Maddox (5:44 PM)
Go Gamecocks!
Buzzmaster (5:45 PM)
Thanks Brian!
Buzzmaster (5:46 PM)
Another great name in this group today. What a great group we had. Kudos to our recruiting gang for helping to set this up.
Chillen
Go Hoosiers!
AJ W. Lafayette IN
Buzz whats up with the lack of high # recuits for Purdue, last I heard 10th out of the Big Ten?
Buzzmaster (5:47 PM)
They've been down for the last couple of years. Plus, I would imagine that it's hard to recruit there, as they're competing with several other big, big schools in the Big Ten.
sean (toga)
ok...when will we find out bout noel devine?!kids been talkd bout since soph yr
Mike, new orleans
Why is ESPN showing no love to LSU while rivals and scout have them ranked in the top 4?
Buzzmaster (5:50 PM)
Because we do our own rankings. And they're No. 8 in our rankings. Relax Mike on the disrespect card.
Chillen Evansville IN.
Tiller is losing his coaching abilities.
Lane (Kukuihaele, HI)
Watch out for June Jones' recruits in Hawaii. You might know them now but in two years watch out...
N'ardó, Atlanta
Go Gators!
James (milwaukee)
Buzz, you know if you want to retire i will gladly take over for you.
Brandon (Iowa City)
Buzz...Whats the deal with Iowa. Recruits afraid Ferentz is going NFL?
Nick(Minneapolis, MN)
Great group today Buzz, say what are you guys hearing about the job the Gophers did in recruiting and especially the job our new coach Brewster did?
Buzzmaster (5:54 PM)
They just had him on ESPNU. I think for having about, what?, like a month to recruit, he did admirably. The fans just have to lay off for a season if they don't perform well next year.
Mike Cicero
After reading this chat I know why the youth is in such a state of flux, the 7th grader has been on the chat all day and not in school.
Buzzmaster (5:55 PM)
We've got about five minutes left in this chat. So let's hear what you think, SportsNation.
Travis (Minneapolis)
How many times did Tim Brewster say "Gopher Nation."
Jeremy (Gainesville, FL)
Really hoping the gators signing of Chas Henry becomes official soon, I dont know if i can handle another hetland like season
The Duckster ( Orlando,Florida)
Hey Buzz do you no anything about Kenny Rowe who just signed with OU. Iheard he was a good DE.
Buzzmaster (5:58 PM)
He's the No. 13 DE in the country. He's quick off the edge and should give the Ducks a good pass rush.
Lane (Kukuihaele, HI)
Hawaii's Class of 2008 will be one of the nation's best...
Will (Knoxville TN)
Hey Buzz which conference do you think is doing the best recruiting?
Buzzmaster (6:00 PM)
The SEC landed 53 from the ESPN 150. I'd say they raked it in today.
Tim (Los Angeles)
Buzz I respect your comments, but ESPN just put SC ahead of FL for the recruiting title. I understand and have actually seen alot of there prospect but we have almost 10 more prospects and ours are amazing as well. This just doesn't make sence.
Buzzmaster (6:00 PM)
What comments?
Willie (Portland, OR)
East Coast bias, there wasn't a single guy from the West Coast, and only 2 guys West of the Mississippi. I'm a little disappointed Buzz
Buzzmaster (6:01 PM)
Life's full of disappointments Willie. Sorry you had to find out here.
James (Milwaukee)
the SEC needs it, after losing in head to head bowl games to the Big Ten.
Jose, Long Beach, CA
What's wrong with UCLA. Why can't we get USC type players? Is it Karl Dorrell?
The Duckster ( Orlando,Florida)
Michigan better watch out for us next year.why? Coming out party for Joanathan Stewart. O-R-E-G-O-N
Buzzmaster (6:02 PM)
OK, everyone. I hope you all enjoyed today's chat as we tried to bring you into the recruiting process.
Buzzmaster (6:02 PM)
