Calipari is in his seventh season as head coach at Memphis. Through Friday's games, the Tigers stood at 24-3, 13-0 in Conference USA, already sewn up the number one seed in the the C-USA tournament. The Tigers' 99-63 win over Rice Thursday clinched the team's second straight regular season conference title. Memphis has climbed through the national ranks all the way to No. 7 in both polls.
Prior to coaching at Memphis, Calipari coached in the NBA for four seasons after he spent eight seasons on the bench at UMass, where he turned around the Minutemen program. He took the Atlantic 10 program to five straight NCAA tournaments, including the Final Four in his last season - 1995-96.
