The Pulse (1:00 PM)
Welcome to The Pulse!
Tyler (Boise, ID)
Can't wait to see Hester
The Pulse (1:01 PM)
Wow.. March Madness! Not only college hoops but fantasy baseball and NFL free agency! It's a busy busy time! Lots to talk about! Send your best comments! What does everyone think of Jeff Garcia going to Tampa Bay?
The Pulse (1:02 PM)
Durant highlights right now on ESPNEWS!
Wingo (Deptford, NJ)
As an Eagles fan, I'd like to thank Donovan McNabb's personal insecurities for causing the Eagles to cut Jeff Garcia loose. Thanks buddy.
Josh (Florida)
Bucs are going to the playoffs. If they can get young players on d from draft and some free agents, they' go to the playoffs!
Ryan (Medford,MA)
Simms right about now isn't happy about Gruden bringing in Jeff Garcia.
Tyler (Boise, ID)
Garcia to Tampa? Wow looks like the Bus will be another 4 win team this year. Trust me Garcia isn't going to get it done in Tampa.
Ryan (Cape Cod,MA)
Best advice I'd give Jeff Garcia is don't make Gruden unhappy.
Rick (Methuen, MA)
Boston Gobe just posted Thomas passed his physical and it's basically a done deal... what an addition to the Pats D.
Joey (Blairstown, NJ)
Chucky and Garcia = playoffs in 2007, mark that one down.
Will (Missouri)
Wait, is Garcia on the Bucs, or is it a rumor that he could go there?
The Pulse (1:06 PM)
Done deal. Unless he balks and decides to retire like Plummer. Don't count on it.
Wingo (Deptford, NJ)
Garcia's engaged to a Playboy playmate. I don't think Garcia could care less about whether Jon Gruden is happy or unhappy with him.
Tyler (Boise, ID)
Hey Dari, you think Nevada can make a run to the final 4?
The Pulse (1:08 PM)
Switching to college hoops .. everyone is talking up Winthrop ... Cinderella or wannabes?
Wingo (Deptford, NJ)
Forget Winthrop. Penn's going to the Big Dance, bay-bee. Pick and roll basketball is alive and kicking!
Dari Nowkhah (1:08 PM)
Tyler - not sold on Nevada - great big man in Fazekas - but not sure about beyond him... talentwise, overall, they don't match up. But to be honest, we haven't seen enough of them to know if they can overcome that.
The Pulse (1:10 PM)
Tony Gonzalez coming up next on The Pulse!
Stephen (B.C., LA)
Gonzo should of become a Packer!
A.J. Lundgaard (Brownsburg, IN)
I think the chiefs will go WR this year maybe someone like Dwayne Bowe to compliment Tony. If you watched the wildcard game you saw how awful the Cheifs WR were
Ryan Burr (1:12 PM)
Jeff garcia to the Bucs... I still bet chris simms starts the season
Josh (Florida)
Everyone SHUTUP bout UF and UNC. Both will go to the finals and Florida WILL repeat. Just SHUTUP!!!
Ryan Burr (1:14 PM)
Josh hold the phone on carolina..no outside shooting..thats problematic
Shawn (College Station, TX)
What seed it Texas AandM
Ryan Burr (1:14 PM)
a and M a 2 seed...
Joey (Blairstown, NJ)
Hi Ryan, I bet you a dinner at a fancy restaurant that Jeff Garcia will be the starter by game #6.
Ryan Burr (1:15 PM)
joey.. u are on.... garcia will get hurt or exposed in the exhibition season
Matt (New Waterford, OH)
how can you even say that the gators are going to the finals??? Have you seen the polls lately? THE Ohio State University sits atop the top 25. And theyre going to be there for quite sometime.
Ryan Burr (1:16 PM)
Not Ohio states year.. final 8 thats it.. they lost to michigan today
mark (middleton,NY)
how are talks between the ravens and jamal lewis going?
Ryan Burr (1:16 PM)
going good looks like he will resign
Ryan (Cape Cod,MA)
What about BC this year?
Ryan Burr (1:17 PM)
like bc in the tourny dudleu most underated player in america...but should have never left BE
John (Gloucester, MA)
Will the Bears draft or sign a Quarterback this offseason?
Ryan Burr (1:18 PM)
bears will live with rex
junior (san jose ca)
just wanna know do u think joey porter will end up with the niners now that patriots got adalius thomas?
Ryan Burr (1:18 PM)
joey porter is going to the dolphins or the browns
Ryan Burr (1:18 PM)
joey porter has lost a step but the best leader in the game
Rick (Mississippi)
I still think Jeff has a couple more years
Cam (Woburn, MA)
Should say Bears will live and DIE with Rex
Matt (New Waterford, OH)
So now that leaves Simms, Garcia, Plummer, and Gradkowski. Who gets the starting job???
Dari Nowkhah (1:24 PM)
Allright SportsNation - you guys get to produce the show - I'm going to give you a list of games... the FIRST response is the one who gets his/her way...The question: At 1:30 Eastern, after the break, what should be the first highlight we see... here are the games... -- Texas/Kansas, Michigan State/Wisconsin, UCONN/Georgetown GO
The Pulse (1:24 PM)
Good question! What's everyone's take?
Wade (Minnesota Lake MN)
One will be traded on draft day....
Nat (Ithaca NY)
plummer will be sitting at home
Brandon (Lincoln Park, NJ)
Garcia should get the starting job, and Simms should get traded, maybe to a Detroit
Dari Nowkhah (1:25 PM)
Man on the Moon wins - first hoops highlight after this interview will be Texas and Kansas - in honor of man on the moon!
The Pulse (1:25 PM)
Matt Berry coming up next on The Pulse! Send your fantasy baseball questions!
Zak (NY)
please post one of my posts for once.....Sirius says Jeff Garcia may now not sign with the Bucs due to the Plummer trade being completed
The Pulse (1:28 PM)
A lot of people are saying a lot of things. Hopefully it will all sort itself out soon.
Dari Nowkhah (1:30 PM)
Rick - how did you like that - your question to Matthew.
mike (miami)
Jeff Garcia must have the best PR man in the business
Josh (Opelousas, LA)
the jake plummer trade is official??
Dari Nowkhah (1:32 PM)
Josh- yes, the Plummer trade is official - the Broncos have announced it themselves.
Dari Nowkhah (1:32 PM)
Plummer to Tampa - OFFICIAL
Ryan (Cape Cod,MA)
Oh no!! Kevin Durant looks like he's in pain.
Ryan (Cape Cod,MA)
Uh Oh! Kevin Durant looks lke he's hurt.
Dari Nowkhah (1:33 PM)
Durant just turned his left ankle - OUCH - we'll have the latest on him. remember, as Man on the moon said - Texas/KU hilite first.
Josh (Florida)
So long Texas!
Craig (Quincy, Mi)
Texas only wins one game in the tourney if Durant is out.
Ryan (Medford,MA)
I'm sorry Pulse for jinxing Texas.I spoked too soon saying Durant would make a run with Texas for a title.
Seth (Knoxville)
So long Texas? They never were going anywhere anyways.
kevin (detroit)
twisted ankle, he will be fine
Mike (Iowa)
Big 10 Basketball is so painful to watch

Ryan Burr (1:41 PM)

Josh (Florida)
Hey Ryan, can you tell me what RPI is in college hoops?

Ryan Burr (1:44 PM)

Dari Nowkhah (1:48 PM)
Samardzija - baseball boom or bust??
Jake (Waukesha, WI)

brian (cleveland)
bust
cj (MA)
Matsuzaka... bust or boom?
Dari Nowkhah (1:50 PM)
good one CJ - do we like Matsuzaka - I say boom this season - but like Hideo Nomo, the boom won't last more than about 2-3 years.
cj (MA)
waitttttttttt... what!? who did they snag? come on ryan
Dari Nowkhah (1:50 PM)
wes wleker
Ryan (Brockton)

Rick (Mississippi)
I agree Dari
Dan (Cleveland)
Dice-k....small boom then explosion mid-season
Ryan (Cape Cod,MA)
I just had a Gyro today.I'll say Boom.
Ryan Burr (1:51 PM)
Patriots wont make the playoffs in 07
Rob (Santa Clara, CA)
dude is legit, he's a career boob
Sean (Nova Scotia)
Boom
Josh (Florida)
Samardzjra is a bust and so is Dice-K.
Keith (Lincoln)
Dice-K booms for the first couple years then regresses Nomo like.
Joe, Manchester, CT
Dice-K....Bust. He pitched only once every six days in Japan and the ball is smaller in Japan. Theres a reason why Kevin Bass was amazing in Japan and not very good in the US. The talent isnt there in Japan. Come on guys. Lets do some research before we give this guy a twenty win season.
Ryan (Des Moines)
Samardzija will win 15+ games for the cubs in 2 years
Josh (Florida)
yeah,yeah,yeah...... can we start talking some college hoops?
The Pulse (2:01 PM)
Iowa just took a 4 point lead on Illinois with 31 seconds left!
NFL Fan (USA)
Sorry, football rules. Even in the offseason!
The Pulse (2:04 PM)
We're cutting into the Michigan St-Wisconsin finale now on The Pulse ...
freddy (CT)
This chat's moving too slow.Come on,pulse.
The Pulse (2:05 PM)
We'll speed it up!
Rich (NH)
Joe in Manchester i take it you are a yankee fan but wish you had Dice K
Nick (Chicago)
Matsuzaka = BUST!!!
Ryan (Des Moines)
wisconsin will win in a last second shot by mr.clutch alanzo tucker
Bobby (Michigan)
Neitzel is CLUTCH!
A.D. (Detroit)
neitzel is coming on strong they better make sure they have the ball last and I hate MSU
kevin (detroit)
NEITZEL IS MORE CLUTCH THAN TUCKER
Jay (Texas)
WOW, WOW, WOW. Watch the UT game!!!!!
sam (atlanta)
kevin durant is the sickest player ever
Tim (Boston)
Durant is the man!
Craig (Michigan)
Don't you mean the Kansas game.
Bobby (Michigan)
RIGHT HERE IS WHERE NEITZEL MAKES HIS MONEY
Dave (Odessa, Tx)
Watching Durant makes me wonder what LeBron could have done in college.
Jay (Texas)
Man, great day of games so far. I cant wait till championship week. WOW, WOW, again for Wisconsin.
Craig (Michigan)
What a shot by the kid from Wisconsin
The Pulse (2:14 PM)
Wisconsin defeats Michigan State 52-50.
A.D. (Detroit)
WOW that was a great look 4 neitzel too short though
Dave K (Baltimore)
Bye bye Michigan State. Florida State trying to stay alive in OT
Jay (Texas)
Watching Durant makes realize why Lebron has regressed this year. Too much too fast. Should have went to school.
Mark (Grand Rapids)
I'm not sure if I would call that a "great look"
Brian (Cleveland)
one mich. team down! 1 to go! ; )
A.D. (Detroit)
Lebron has hit the wall cause his team doesnt do jack for him, they just stand and watch
Jeff (Iowa)
LeBron is going to regress himself all the way to the Hall of Fame.
Mark (Grand Rapids)
LeBron is too focused on being a global icon or whatever nonsense he was babbling about
SaintsFan (Louisiana)
LeBron is not regressing. People just scrutinize him too much cuz he's supposedly the next "chosen one".
Jay (Texas)
Lebron stopped playing his game and is trying to play MJ's game. Once again, too much for him on and off the court.
Smitty (Cape Coral, FL)
LeBron will get people around him eventually...when he is out of Cleveland
Curt (Maine)
Every great player has a great teammate, what does Lebron have?
bill (ohio)
what moves are the browns going to make
Ryan Burr (2:25 PM)
want joey porter
jason (new orleans)
did donnie edwards sign with anyone yet?
Dave (Baltimore)
Al Thorton is playing crazy, 45 points 10/10 from the line and 8 rebounds. What a game
Ryan Burr (2:25 PM)
no just opted out with sd
Josh (Florida)
Lebron is expected too much out of him. He has one bad game and people are ready to call him a bust.
Ryan Burr (2:25 PM)
lebron doesnt have the fire in his heart too easy going
Dari Nowkhah (2:27 PM)
pats wont win 3 games
josh (tampa)
why would the bucs still trade for plummer after getting garcia?
Ryan Burr (2:27 PM)
force plummers hand to retire salary cap reasons
Andrew (Ames)
BURR what a joke. James has the fire.......he wants the title....but is it really physically possible to battle by yourself. Look at the man in Minnesota.
Ryan Burr (2:28 PM)
what happens to lebron in the final 3 minutes everynight
The Pulse (2:30 PM)
ESPN.com senior writer Michael Smith coming up next on The Pulse to talk about the latest free agency moves
Matt (New Waterford, OH)
What about CC!?!?!?!?!
The Pulse (2:32 PM)
Coming up! It's a 3-hour show!
Dari Nowkhah (2:32 PM)
WHO SHOULD START FOR THE BUCS??
Adam (NY)
Jeff Garcia, 5-1 as a starter.
Matt (Boston)
SIMMS
Jake (Waukesha, WI)
Simms
Glynn Beasley (Texas)
Jake Plummer
Dan (Nashua, NH)
Start Gradkowski!
Ron (VA)
Simms hands down
Grady (Maine)
it will be Garcia, Plummer's righte are trade bait
mike (miami)
me...i have a better arm than both garcia and plummer.
Smitty (Cape Coral, FL)
Garcia....way better than the rest
dom ((evansville))
Is that even a question
Matt (Boston)
Garcia signing was smart, but Simms should get the start.
Jarod (De Pere,WI)
I think it should be Garcia for now, more experience.
Soren (Boston)
The pats won't win 3 games Nowkhah? Careful what you say about the most dominant team BY FAR in the modern NFL
Dari Nowkhah (2:34 PM)
Soren - just trying to stir up the New Englanders - I actually really like the Pats next season... see, gotcha going.
Glynn Beasley (Texas)
He's better than Garcia and Simms combined. But in Garcia's defense that is his system
Doug (Mooresboro, N.C.)
Chris Simms should be the starter for the buccaneers next year. He is a fighter and is the future of that franchise.
Seth (North Dakota)
garcia has no one to help him out in tampa no rb wr
Ron (VA)
Garcia got lucky last year. He wasn't that good at his previous locations.
Dari Nowkhah (2:35 PM)
Ron - remember what Garcia's previous locations were - Detroit and Cleveland.
Josh (Florida)
Simms, but make all three try to earn it in the preseason.
Sam (Exton, PA)
Bring back Vinny
Curt (Maine)
Pats play in super bowl next year
bryan (cleveland)
WHOEVER EARNS IT IN PRESEASON..YOU CAN'T JUST GIVE IT TO SOMEONE...MAKE THEM EARN IT
Dari Nowkhah (2:35 PM)
Bryan - great point - couldn't agree more, especially with more than 1 experienced QB in there.
dom ((evansville))
chris simms is a bust he is not his father
Kevin (Pennsylvania)
plummer will retire but if he doesnt hill start
mike (miami)
truth is the by having four qbs...the bucs really have no qb
Jeff (Iowa)
It doesn't matter who will start, the Bucs will still stink.
Lane (Kukuihaele, HI)
The Bears have no QB and they made it to the Super Bowl...
T-roy (Arlington)
The bears made it in the nfc, which is like the minor leagues compared to the AFC
The Pulse (2:43 PM)
Steve Lavin coming up next on The Pulse!
The Pulse (2:47 PM)
Don't forget that we still have C.C. Sabathia and Devin Hester still coming up on the show! We'll also be showing the Jeff Garcia press conference.
Matt (New Waterford, OH)
C.C.'s The MAN!!!
Barry McCaulkiner (Cleveland, Ohio)
I guarantee CC will not hurt his oblique in spring training this year (like he has the previous 2 years)
Dan (Ohio)
CC's becoming a great pitcher, check out his stats. Just needs some consistency and a more straightened hat.
Barry McCaulkiner (Cleveland, Ohio)
Ted Ginn, Jr. will be this year's Devin Hester, scoring 7 touchdowns on returns. Hester will then cry after Madden denies him a 100 quickness rating he so desperately was seeking.
Jay (Texas)
Barry, you have lost it. Ted Ginn does not have the vision of Hester.
Curt (Maine)
CC may contend for the Cy Young if he stays consistent and reaches his potential
Ron (VA)
Ted Ginn Jr will be this years MIke Williams
you name (you location)
Ted ginn=overated
Curt (Maine)
Hester didn't have to focus much on anything other than returns, Ginn will be a top receiver
dom (evansville)
Barry McCaulkiner lets be for real that was a terrible comment, Ted Ginn Jr. isnt even the best wr coming out of Ohio st.
Bryan (Florida)
I think Anthony Gonzalez will be a better pro than Ginn. He has much better hands
Javi (Austin)
Anthony gonzalez will be the real deal especially if he goes to a team like the rams or steelers
Seth (North Dakota)
Ginn is gonna need a good mentor to help him and a good QB where ever he goes
Curt (Detroit)
Gonzalez, does not have the natural talent needed to be a star in the NFL.
kado (detroit)
never underestimate speed
SaintsFan (Louisiana)
Ginn is this years Troy Williamson...lotta hype little substance
The Pulse (3:00 PM)
We're getting closer to Devin Hester!
Barry McCaulkiner (Cleveland, Ohio)
Williamson never did the things Ginn did in college. Williamson received his lofty position on speed alone. Ginn has done it on the field. He is a gamebreaker and gamechanger and any team that drafts him will be pleasantly surprised at how good a receiver he actually is (considering he was recruited as a defensive back)
Matt (Boston)
Why even draft a wideout in the top 10? Look at all the busts....Charles Rogers, Troy Williamson, Mike Williams. The only wide reciever to make an impact was larry fitzgerald. Of course calvin johnson is a different story, but why are teams going to make the same mistakes on a Ted Ginn, or Dwayne Jarret?
Justin (Chicago)
Ginn is better then Williamson, but he's speed only. At his best, he could be Stallworthesque. Good on the right team, but if he gets put in a spot like Stallworth was on the Saints before, Ginn could get lost in the shuffle.
Steve (CT)
I agree with Matt. The Pats have huge WR issues and I doubt they use either of their 2 first round picks on a wideout.
mike (miami)
receivers take a long time to develop and you can get quality..ala colston...later on in the draft
The Undertaker (The Raider Nation)
It would be dumb to draft Russell over Adrian Peterson, AP provides intangibles that are questionable in Russell. If i'm Al or Lane, I cut Lamont Jordan, trade Randy Moss, and change the culture of the team by drafting AP.
SaintsFan (Louisiana)
trust me you dont want stallworthesque!
Steve (CT)
The Raiders should trade down. Too many offensive needs, one player isn't going to fix it.
Curt (Maine)
The Undertaker, I couldn't agree more about the Lamont Jordan and Randy Moss ideas but they need a quarterback so they should grab Quinn or Russell
Barry McCaulkiner (Cleveland, Ohio)
This coming from a team that has drafted Sebastian Janikowski in the first round. A dumb decision in the first round is almost a given. Russell is the choice and when he comes to training camp looking all doughy the Nation will be screaming for what's left of Al Davis' hair.
Dan (Pawtucket, RI)
Last three wide outs picked in the first round to actually make an impact during their rookie years were Terry Gleen, Keyshawn Johnson and Randy Moss, beyond those three who has done much of anything along the lines of first round picks at the wideout position. It's alomost as much of a crap shot as the QB position.
Geaux Saints (Baton Rouge)
Stallworthesque= Stone Hands, Fumblitis.
The Pulse (3:10 PM)
Hester coming up next on The Pulse!
Jay (Texas)
I can not wait for Hester. I have been a Canes fan all my life.
Curt (Maine)
Hester will break every returners record ever made
Matt (Miami)
Hester should have been more considered for the Rookie of the year.
Hector (Destin,FL)
without Hester, New Orleans would have had homefield advantage and there was no way they were losing at home.
Ryan (Cape Cod,MA)
Hester should put himself on the Madden cover.
Glynn (Texas)
I think Hester is the next Dante Hall...good for awhile then never heard from again
TJ (ENGLAND)
Too right about Hester, although hes better than hall at the moment, he will fade away in about a year or two.
Adam (NY)
I think hester will be like steve smith, dominate, dominate in special teams till he is given a chance to prove himself as a top line starter
Josh (Salem, NH)
You don't hear about Dante Hall too much anymore...know why? Teams began to just kick away from him, neutralizing his effectiveness. You'll start to see that happening to Hester---like every kickoff and punt after his runback in the Super Bowl.
The Pulse (3:20 PM)
We're cutting into Wake Forest-Virginia game ..
The Pulse (3:22 PM)
C.C. Sabathia coming up very soon!
The Pulse (3:24 PM)
Jeff Garcia press conference right now on The Pulse ..
Chris (Dracut, MA)
I think Garcia will have an easier time beating out Plummer than Simms. Simms has more of a drive. It's still his team.
The Pulse (3:32 PM)
C.C. Sabathia coming up any minute on The Pulse!
KEvin (Dallas)
cc sabathi needs to work on his curveball
Joey (Blairstown, NJ)
With all the young talent that the Indians have, they are a lock in my mind to win the AL Central in 2007.
Barry McCaulkiner (Cleveland, Ohio)
Too bad the Indians will be unable to sign C.C. after next season, when he walks as a free agent and gets a bigger deal than Zito.
Ben B. Fort Wayne, IN
C.C. is the most underrated pitcher in the entire league.
Adam B. (Cleveland, OH)
The Tribe will get CC's extension taken care of before opening day.
mike (michigan)
c.c would benefit from a change of scenery
kurt (maine)
and really needs to work on his slider
Anthony (philadelphia)
CC is a model citizen and ballplayer. Athletes today should take a page out of his book.
Dan (Nashua, NH)
CC and Curt Schilling are on the same offseaon diet me thinks.
Justin (Los Angeles)
CC should come home and sign with the Dodgers when he becomes a free agent. We already have a ton of starting picthers but any team could obviously use a dominant lefty of Sabathia's calibur...
Dustin (Grand Rapids)
AL Central: 1.Detroit, 2.Cleveland, 3.Minnesota, 4.Chicago, 5.Kansas City
The Pulse (3:53 PM)
We're winding down here but stay tuned .. we'll finish the show with some of your comments on Kevin Durant and Jeff Garcia!
