ESPN.com's Scouts Inc. has evaluated every player in the draft and this is what they say about Chandler: ''A former wide receiver, Chandler is a developmental tight end prospect with some intriguing upside. He shows good athleticism, ball skills and run-after-catch ability as a receiver, but he lacks ideal speed to consistently stretch the field at the next level. More concerning is the fact that Chandler lacks the bulk and strength to adequately match up as an in-line blocker in the NFL. As it stands right now, Chandler grades out as a late-first day prospect in a weak 2007 class of tight ends.''

Scott's here!
Nate, Wisconsin
Scott, Great career at Iowa, I love forward to seeing you develop at the next level. What do you think your biggest challenge is going to be in that development?
Scott Chandler (1:01 PM)
I just think I need to continue to get stronger in the weight room. Having been a WR in high school and freshman year in college, I didn't get in the weight room much. I really saw a progression the last three years, but I just need to get stronger.
Sunjay (Ann Arbor)
Hey Scott, congrats on a great career at Iowa, I saw you play a few times. How big was it to play at a school like Iowa and have to fill in for Dallas Clark, who now plays in the NFL?
Scott Chandler (1:02 PM)
Dallas was obviously a great player at Iowa. It's tough to follow a guy that can run 90 yards past guys and score touchdowns. He's a bit smaller than I am and has really really good speed at TE. I'm a little bigger target and feel like I can move with the ball after I catch it.
Josh (Sheboygan, WI)
Whats the toughest stadium to go into in the Big Ten?
Scott Chandler (1:03 PM)
I'd say the Horseshoe at Columbus. The amount of people and how high it is, that place really holds in the sound.
Scott (Lincoln, NE)
So how many teams did you interview with at the combine, and how many times did you get asked the same questions?
Scott Chandler (1:04 PM)
Well, I think I interviewed with just about every team. I'd say that almost all of them ask you the same question. I think they want you to answer each on indiviually or else there would just be a standard questionare handed out by the teams by now.
Bill (Pittsburgh, PA)
If you had to pick, who would you want to draft you?
Scott Chandler (1:05 PM)
I grew up in Dallas, but they seem pretty set at the TE position. I would think that I would be happy with any team that wants me. Sorry I can't answer that question any more.
Nick (Iowa City)
How'd you do on the Wonderlic test? WAs it as difficult as it is said to be?
Scott Chandler (1:05 PM)
I haven't gotten my score back on that, but I'm usually pretty good at that kind of thing. I didn't finish all 50 questions in the 12 minutes. I think my score was high 30s, low 40s. I think I did pretty well.
Mark H. (Bowling Green, OH)
Would you rather blow up a linebacker on a block or catch a pass for a TD?
Scott Chandler (1:06 PM)
Coming from the WR mold, I would have to say catching a pass and scoring a TD, but the past couple of years, I've learned to like blowing up a LB, especially if you spring your RB for a TD.
Grant (Chicago, IL)
Scott, What was your favorite big ten stadium to play in during your years at Iowa. Also, what was it like for the players when the student section did "Jump Around" at the end of the 3rd quarter in Madison?
Scott Chandler (1:07 PM)
I really enjoyed playing in Kent Stadium, my home stadium. That's a unique atmosphere. I enjoyed playing at Wisconsin. But the Bighouse was pretty fun too.
Colt (Las Vegas)
You seemed to bulk up quite a bit for he combine. Do you think that it affected your speed and agility in any way?
Scott Chandler (1:09 PM)
You know, I weighed 270 which is the most I've ever weighed. I wanted to show that I could move. I ran a 4.78 and that was pretty close to the same as I've run before. I've always felt that my agility was something I could keep while I was putting on weight. I fit pretty well on my body.
Nick (Brothers)
Are looking forward to going up against former teemates? You got a lot tough defenders out there nowadays. Roth, Babineax, and SANDERS!!
Scott Chandler (1:09 PM)
I hadn't really thought about that, but it will be pretty fun, being able to see those guys across from you. I think it will be a lot of fun.
Nick (Fieldhouse)
What was your favorite part about living in thee Iowa City?
Scott Chandler (1:10 PM)
Iowa City is a great college town. On gameday, it's crazy. I think that's a pretty unique atmosphere - a college town and being in the Midwest. There are no pro teams in Iowa, we are the pro team.
Tom - Hawkeye State
What was your best memory at Iowa? Thanks for all of the great memories you gave us fans!!!!!
Scott Chandler (1:11 PM)
I think it's tough to beat the Capital One Bowl when we scored on the final play. Then when we were able to beat Wisconsin at home in 2004 to win the Big Ten championship.
Mike (Chicago)
Scott, I miss Iowa City. Just thought I should say that first. Secondly, with our schedule next year, think Iowa can win 10 games?
Scott Chandler (1:12 PM)
I never counted a Coach Ferentz team out for winning 10 games. I think they had their first spring practice yesterday. They'll be ready to go. I think they'll be a lot of fun to watch next year.
Bob (PA)
What was it like playing for Kirk Ferentz?
Scott Chandler (1:12 PM)
Coach is a class guy. It's always great to play for a guy like him. Also, with his knowledge of the game, he really helped me learn the blocking aspect of the game and the interior line play.
Ian H. (Commerce, MI)
who do you look forward to playing against in the NFL?
Scott Chandler (1:13 PM)
I think it will be fun to play against the Dallas Cowboys, a team that I rooted for growing up. Being able to play in Texas Stadium again, where I played a lot of playoff games growing up will be a lot of fun.
Corey Milwaukee,Wi
Hey Scott, congrats on a great career at Iowa. Hey, what tight end currently in the NFL would you compare yourself to?
Scott Chandler (1:14 PM)
I feel like I can be a player like Todd Heap. A guy who's big and can run and make plays in the passing game. I feel like I have that ability and hope that I can emulate his career.
Craig (Norwich, CT)
What is the rivalry with Iowa State like?
Scott Chandler (1:15 PM)
That's a rivalry that's growing as Iowa State's getting better. That rivalry was pretty heated. I was glad to go 3-1 against those guys.
Nick (Union)
What was it like coming to the U of Iowa just after your brother got down here? I always loved watching that giant tossing the ball around.
Scott Chandler (1:16 PM)
It was fun to be able to play on a team with my brother. It was fun to hang out with him. He was five years older than me. He's a great example of what I should work like and act like in being a college athlete.
Joe, Tacoma
teh Seahawks need a TE how would you feel about playing with Hasselbeck and Alexander
Scott Chandler (1:16 PM)
Those are two pretty big names. Anything you hear something like that you get excited. I think Seattle would be a fun place to play. They like to throw the ball around a lot.
Nick (Iowa City)
Scotty what is your brother up too nowadays?
Scott Chandler (1:17 PM)
He's working with my dad. He owns storage warehouses. He's married and has a kid on the way in May - a little boy.
tony (columbus)
what was it like being yelled at by drew tate??
Scott Chandler (1:18 PM)
I think I was one of the few guys that wasn't afraid of yelling back at Drew. I think a lot of times he got a bad rap about just being passionate about the game. A lot of times he wasn't really yelling at you, he just got a bad rap about that.
Nathan (Kerrville, TX)
What are your plans for watching the draft?
Scott Chandler (1:19 PM)
I haven't really made that decision yet. If I'm going to stay here in Iowa or go back to Texas. My brother called me today and said he'd like me to go back to Texas, but I haven't decided.
John R. Sigourney, Iowa
Can the Iowa program get to the top level like Ohio State, Michigan every year not every 4 years....
Scott Chandler (1:20 PM)
That's going to be tough, because Iowa doesn't have the same recruiting grounds as those other guys. Iowa is a blue-collar program - they get the guys that have to develop. But if you work hard, I think they can be successful. I think they'll reach that this year.
Nick (Bo James)
Are going to do all the drills again at Iowa's pro day? Or are you staying with your combine numbers?
Scott Chandler (1:20 PM)
I'll be doing most of the drills. I haven't decided if I'll do all of them. Over the next two weeks, I'll be making my final decision.
Nick (SpoCo)
Do you think you'll ever see Ferentz in the NFL coaching? or is his heart in Iowa City?
Scott Chandler (1:21 PM)
I think over the past years, he's had the opportunities and he's turned them down. I think his heart is in Iowa City. He has the following and he has the players' respect. I think he has everything he wants here.
David ((Plantation, Florida))
What was the weirdest ritual you saw a player perform to prepare himself at the combine?
Scott Chandler (1:22 PM)
I didn't really notice anyone doing anything weird. I never do anything specific before a game. I try to do the opposite, because I'm not a superstitious guy.
Dutch, Garwin
What happened to the team's fire and passion last season? It seemed to be back for the bowl game, but where did it go?
Scott Chandler (1:23 PM)
I still can't really put my finger on it. I think guys thought that being at Iowa, things just happened. But you have to get in there and work hard. We definitely figured it out again during bowl prep. It would have been nice to pull that one out.
Elliot (Utah)
What is your favorite movie?
Scott Chandler (1:24 PM)
I really like Hoosiers. Growing up I loved watching that movie because it's a great underdog story. It had some great acting in it as well.
Mike, Chicago
How often to speak with Dallas Clark? Has he given you any insight/advice as to how to excel at the next level?
Scott Chandler (1:24 PM)
I don't talk to Dallas all that often. I think the last time I talked to him was when he spoke to the team before the Indiana game. I enjoy talking to him. He's a great guy and a really intelligent guy.
Spalding (St. Louis)
Scott as a 6'7" athlete did you ever consider playing basketball?
Scott Chandler (1:25 PM)
I think if you asked me my junior year in high school, I would have said that I was going to play basketball in college. I had some small D-I offers for basketball, but my heart was really in football and I think I made the right decision.
Scott Chandler (1:26 PM)
Thanks for all the support over the last four years. I appreciate everything.
