Hello Pulse!!
Dari Nowkhah (1:02 PM)
What's up PULSE-nation!! Good Saturday to you - let's have some fun with Joe Schad, this dude knows his college football.
Joe Schad (1:02 PM)
What's up kids? GREAT to be here, talking football in the spring. Are they playing basketball tonite? Anyway, just had to run away from Digger Phelps, who wanted to know anything and everything I knew about Jimmy Clausen and his health. Hey... Charlie Weis says he's "full-go" and that's good enough for me. Wait...are you saying coaches don't always disclose ALL their concerns about injuries? Nah... I'm sure he'll be fine. I mean, I hope he'll be fine...
Rocky Holland (Knoxville, TN)
What effect, if any, has Eric Ainge's torn meniscus had on David Cutcliffe's training with regards to Johnathon Crompton? Has he shifted the emphasis at all and will the six week switch have an effect on the passing/receiving strategies? (note this was a concern that Urban Meyer had with regards to switching Leak and Tebow too much)
Alex (Brooklyn)
Hi Dari Hi Joe!!!
chris (tulsa)
how is oklahoma going to replace paul thompson and adrian peterosn this year
Dari Nowkhah (1:05 PM)
Chris - that's my boy there, good question! BOOMER!!
ryan (melrose,ma)
What's up Dari,How is your bracket doing?
Joe Schad (1:06 PM)
My man Rocko. Here's the good news about Ainge's knee injury: it will not affect his ability to return to practice in the summer. Here's the bad news: How concerned do Tennessee fans (ie, you) have to be about Ainge's ability to stay healthy? He's been hurt every season, which is where Crompton comes in. Cutcliffe has confidence in Crompton and did even during last spring. But Ainge is the unquestioned starter. When I spoke to Coach Cut he tried to spin positive about being able to watch the scrimmages and spring game alongside Ainge for the rest of this spring and also noted that the kid was throwing it as good as he ever had - when he got hurt. Where this sets UT back most is in Cutcliffe's desire to install the no-huddle attack ast he PRIMARY base offense. This requires timing and precision and Ainge is going to have to break in inexperienced receivers quickly in the fall (Or as I prefer to say, summer)....
Dari Nowkhah (1:06 PM)
Ryan - bracket not too bad... all my Final 4 still alive, 6 of 8 in Elite 8 right. I HAD Tennessee beating Ohio State - should hae happened! I have Florida over Memphis... who do you have??
Dave ( Tennessee)
Just curious why Samardzija chose baseball over football? I mean he was a great talent at wideout! Also, would he consider playing NFL and MLB like others have done before?
Joe Schad (1:09 PM)
I was surprised that Jeff went the baseball route, But in the end I think it is a sound decision. First of all, I believe him when he says that baseball was in his heart. Second of all, he will be able to preserve his body and longevity much longer than he would have in football. Thirdly (Are we up to three yet?) he is going to be paid a TON of money from the Cubs on potential. I just hope we don't have enother Drew Henson situation, where the kid fails at baseball and then turns back to football when it's probably too late. Actually I think based on what I've heard, that Samardzjia has a very high probablity of being an effective major league pitcher. In the NFL? He may have been Ed McCaffrey. Not that being Ed McCaffrey is a bad thing. I loved Ed McCaffrey. Although I'm not sure I spelled his name right. Hope so, Eddy.
Chris (New Orleans)
Who will start at QB at LSU?
Joe Schad (1:11 PM)
That's an easy one, Chris. Hey... isn't the national championship game at your place next year? Matt Flynn. He's patiently waited his turn. He looked so good in that bowl game a few years back. Listen, the kid just is more prepared to run the offense that Gary Crowton wants to run than Ryan Perriloux, the one-time phenom. Incidentally, look for Crowton to go spread offense, something that will make Les Miles' squad even more dangerous...
Jamie (Tampa Bay)
Any concerns for Notre Dame? They don't have Brady Quinn!!!!
Dari Nowkhah (1:11 PM)
Joe, Bro - you having fun yet??
Joe Schad (1:14 PM)
Uh, Jamie, lots of concerns. Anytime you lose Quinn, Darius Walker, Rhema McKnight, Samardzjia... I mean a completely rebuilt offense. But listen.... the key to Notre Dame's 2007 season - even more than who emerges at quarterback - is the impact that new defensive coordinator Corwin Brown (a former NY Jet, baby) has on the Irish D. Can he figure out what Rick Minter couldn't? Can he do what Ron English did for Michigan's D last season? A new intensity? A new scheme? One thing we know he'll bring is the 3-4 defense he played in with the Jets and Pats and coached up the Jets DBacks in. Weis can't keep this one quiet any longer. The Irish are going 3-4. Any and all tweeners apply. Weis loves the versatility and confusion that Belichick and Saban and now Corwin Brown... who those guys recommended... will be able to utililize. Something has to change defensively, that's for sure...
Joe Schad (1:15 PM)
Dari... what's up, bro??? I love chatting man. I can't believe how many people are on here no matter what day or time we roll these things out under the supervision of chat guru Dominick...
Joe Schad (1:16 PM)
So I saw Dari posted an Oklahoma question on here. SHOCKER! What's next... Tulsa and Oklahoma State questions? Just kidding...
Joe Schad (1:19 PM)
Nice Joe, real nice! haha
Dari Nowkhah (1:19 PM)
Wait... that was me... never mind!
Joe Schad (1:19 PM)
Thanks for the assist, Dari. To answer your question (and that dude who actually submitted it...) Oklahoma coaches believe they are prepared to play as well on offense as they have... even with Adrian Peterson. This is because they believe the OL is as good as it has EVER been, they have strong receivers and a great combination of running backs, spearheaded by Allen Patrick. At QB, true freshman Ketith Nichol has the most passing talent of anybody on campus in Norman. But the Sooners coaches don't want to make a mistake and RUSH him or SET HIM BACk. They are going to be cautious and are hoping redshirt freshman Sam Bradford ... who looks the part... as an athlete... good size... good arm... steps up and at least seizes the starting position for the first few games... ie., MIAMI!... But Nichol is the man of the future there, for sure. Former JUCO Joey Halzle, in my opinion, gets lost in the shuffle here...
Ryan Burr (1:19 PM)
big bad joe schadd will Syracuse ever play in a bowl game again????
raleigh
which sport do you like more boxing, basketball, football, baseball or wrestiling
Jimmy Star (Sacramento, CA)
Who do you think will win the BCS National Championship game this year?
Joe Schad (1:21 PM)
Definitely wresting. What do you guys think? I dream about the days of Nikalai Volkov and the Iron Sheik. I am a real American. Fight for the rights over every man. Anyone else remember Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo? Man this whole steroid scandal has me bummed, personally... Hey.. The Rock played football at Miami. You guys know that, right???
Joe Schad (1:23 PM)
Ryan Burr... too many Syracuse guys around this building, man. Syracuse and Missouri. Just kidding. I always have to answer questions about Greg Robinson and Gary Pinkel. Umm... So, when I was as kid Syracuse was it... and now, not so much. It's hard to get passed up by the likes of Rutgers in your own conference, huh? I think Robinson's mission is simple, man: Make Syracuse football relevant again. Now, not so much. No?
Dwight (Lancaster, CA )
If Kobe Bryant is the best player in the NBA and he is carrying his team on his back (And the Lakers are very heavy) why isn't he a frontrunner for the MVP? and if the Lakers can win out (14 in a row) and get to the 50 win plateau will the MVP award belong to Kobe Bryant?
MV (Queens)
Just wanted to give a quick shout out to Joe!
Ryan Burr (1:24 PM)
Dwight i asked tim legler that question.. he said its a crime.. but the mvp goes to the best player of the best team
Joe Schad (1:25 PM)
Nobody understands why I love college football so much, growing up in Queens... Easy... Try living in Gainesville, Florida for four years, baby...
Joe Schad (1:27 PM)
Ryan... How are you encouraging Kobe Bryant talk on a CFB chat??? You're crazy, bro... OK... How about this... Which player in the upcoming draft has Kobe Bryant-like potential? My answer??? Easy, baby. Calvin Johnson. Calvin Johnson. Calvin Johnson. I don't care how much the Raiders need a QB or the Lions are AFRAID to draft a WR AGAIN. He IS THE BEST player (Sorry for the ALL CAPS) in this NFL draft. He will win awards. Lots of awards. And then win some more...
Dan Hawkins (Boulder,CO)
THIS IS THE PULSE,JOE.THIS IS DIVISION-1 CHATTING Brotha!
Joe Schad (1:29 PM)
I love Dan Hawkins, baby. Find that rant. I LOVE IT.
Joe Schad (1:31 PM)
UPDATE FROM UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI SCRIMMAGE TODAY: Kirby Freeman: 2 TD's... Kyle Wright: 2 INT's... So I've heard Kyle Wright is looking better in practice and is digesting Patrick Nix's offense a little better... He also has the edge in experience. I'm still putting my money on Wright...
corey (philadelphia)
how do i get my comments in the chatroom
Joe Schad (1:31 PM)
Not sure, Corey...
Jake (WI)
Who you got starting qb next year for the Badgers?
Joe Schad (1:32 PM)
Allen Evridge, former Kansas State player... That's my pick...
Brandon Brouse:Covington, IN.
Do you think that Coach Butch Davis, will have a big impact on UNC football, and if so how quickly?
Joe Schad (1:36 PM)
Butch Davis has already had a huge impact when you look at the magical national signing day he pulled off. By the way, those of you with concerns about his health, he is going to be just fine. If you didn't hear, he had a cancerous growth removed from his mouth and will undergo 3 to 6 sessions of chemotherapy. But Davis' first priority is to increase the overall TEAM speed at UNC and to, of course, change the mentality. He's got the kids working out at 6 a.m. - as a team - not as punishment, as we saw in the past. And he also has institiuted a new "open door" philosophy - which I think is pretty cool. He literally insisted that doors throughout the UNC football facility be taken off their hinges...
Russell (Wisconsin)
Will Ryan Mallet or Jimmy Clausen have the better football career? I believe Mallet's rocket arm gives him the slight edge.
Joe Schad (1:38 PM)
There are people who think that Ryan Mallett is just as talented, if not more talented, than Jimmy Clausen. I can't say I know this. But some people have suggested that Mallett has as much talent as any QB to come into the Michigan program EVER. Which says a lot. One advantage Mallett will clearly have over Clausen is this: He can sit behind veteran Chad Henne for a year and learn how to play the game. Clausen may very well be forced to start right away...
Andre (TX)
I know there a 4 guys vying for the starting QB spot at Notre Dame, but any idea who has the inside track?
Joe Schad (1:41 PM)
Well, they've had about TWO practices so far, so... Look... Charlie Weis wants to narrow the field from four to two by the end of the spring and the general consensus is that true freshman phenom JImmy Clausen (how healthy is he?) and sophomore (they call 'em sophomores, not redshirt freshman at ND) Demetrius Jones will end up being the two. Jones is a splendid athlete who can be exciting and then erratic. We'll see... I think one cool thing is that Clausen is being tutored by Ron Powlus...
Josh (Fayette Alabama)
Mr. Joe Schad, Do you think that the Alabama crimson tide fotball team will have any chance of winning the SEC in this coming up football season? and if so then why?
Joe Schad (1:45 PM)
It's a bit premature to suggest that Alabama - based on the addition of Nick Saban - is ready to knock LSU and Auburn from their perches atop the SEC West. The Crimson Tide are inexperienced in places, especially DL. One thing I know they'll do is compete better. Did you know Alabama hasn't had a comeback victory in the fourth quarter in the last four years? That's why Saban has a new strength and conditioning program called the FOURTH QUARTER. Go figure. He's also trying to make the team mentally tougher and disciplined. He recently gave the example of the disappointment he's had when having players run what are called 10 by 10's ... 10 guys running 10 yards at the sound of the whistle. Let's just say they've been running them over and over and over.
Ryan (Two Egg,Fl)
Joe, Who is Bobby Bowden and Jim Boe Fisher looking to start at QB this year for FSU?
Joe Schad (1:47 PM)
Two Egg, Florida? Is that a real place. I can safely say I have NEVER lived there. I think Xavier Lee is going to get a fair shot to take over Drew Weatherford. I think Lee has more natural ability and Weatherford has more natural leadership skills. If I have faith in anyone to bring the best out of both it's Jimbo Fisher, who is likely the most important off-season staff addition in college football. Some people think that Lee reminds of JaMarcus Russell, who, of course, Fisher coached at LSU. I just think it will be more fun to watch the FSU offense this season, no matter who's calling the shots... maybe both play some.
Steve (Havertown, PA)
Do you think Anthony Morelli, Derrick Williams, Justin King, and Dan Connor can carry Penn State to a Big Ten Championship this year? How will they replace guys like Poz and Tim Shaw?
Joe Schad (1:50 PM)
I think they have a bit of a bounce-back season this year. Not that Penn State was awful last season. I think Morelli can make big strides this season. I also think Derrick Williams has to take that jump everyone expected him to take last season... he certainly has the natural ability to do so...
mark (NY)
Joe, does florida have a chance to repeat with tebow at QB?
Joe Schad (1:52 PM)
I'm glad you brought up Tebow, Mark. I had a chance to catch up with this kid yesterday and the first thing you notice is his confidence and his demeanor... he just resonates with leadership ability. Anyway... few notes from Tebow: 1) Kid thew it 75 yards at Elite 11 a few years ago. Yes... 75 yards. Did you know he can throw the deep ball? And that he averaged more yards per completion than Chris Leak last season? And 2) He talked about the Utah offense with former Ute Alex Smith for three days in Arizona during the national title week last season... This kid is ready to rock and roll... I have as more confidence in him than I did in Leak...
Jake (NYC)
How many more years is Joe Pa going to coach?
Joe Schad (1:59 PM)
80 years old. Amazing. He should coach as long as he feels up to it, obviously. As Penn State begins spring practice, he's off the cart and walking around, though not running yet. He doesn't feel 100 percent after his surgery last year, obviously. Let's hope we have JoePa on the sideline for another two seasons. At least...
Jason (Gainesville, FL)
Who are the top Heisman candidates?
Joe Schad (2:01 PM)
Let's see who I leave out! Hawaii QB Colt Brennan... Texas QB Colt McCoy... Louisville QB Brian Brohm... WVU RB Steve Slaton... Rutgers RB Ray Rice... Michigan RB Mike Hart.. Arkansas RB Darren McFadden... USC QB JD Booty... Oregon RB Jonathan Stewart...
Jordan (San Jose)
True or False. Urban Meyer will be coaching a NFL team within 5 years.
Joe Schad (2:01 PM)
False. He's a COLLEGE FB coach, which is AWESOME news for Florida.
Joe Schad (2:02 PM)
Hey guys...thanks so much for checking in... We're gonna use some of these questions on ESPNEWS The Pulse around 2:20 p.m. TODAY... about 20 minutes...so check it out.. you might see your name!.... Joe
THE PULSE (2:05 PM)
Thanks Joe!
THE PULSE (2:05 PM)
Joe Schad is THE man!
THE PULSE (2:06 PM)
He knows his stuff too.
Steiny (NY)
Hey Pulse when is Jeff Samardzija coming on?
THE PULSE (2:10 PM)
I think during this 2 o'clock hour. But sometimes things change with live TV. We'll see!
Trevor (Iowa)
A #1 seed will be gone by the end of today-- OHIO STATE
THE PULSE (2:11 PM)
We'll be hitting up the Georgetown news conference at 2:30 ET. And then we'll be showing the Oregon and Florida news conferences later this afternoon as well. Let us know what you think about these games and we'll try to get your comments on air!
ryan (melrose,ma)
I don't get why people are so high on Greg Oden over Kevin Durant. He seems like he doesn't know what to do inside the middle.
Scott Sanders (Hanover PA)
I have UCLA against UNC in the final with UNC cutting down the nets!!
THE PULSE (2:15 PM)
Good picks Scott. What about tonight's games? How do you think UCLA fairs against Kansas tonight?
tommy miles (chattanooga TN)
osu will beat memphis then they will beat g,town to meet florida and get revenge for the ncaaf florida fluke win against osu the true champion,s GO BIG O
THE PULSE (2:19 PM)
Big Bad Joe Schad is on TV right now!
will suddreth: Elizabeth City, NC
I think that the tar heels are going to go all the way. They have the depth and everthing a good team needs. GO HEELS.
Dylan (Mott, ND)
I would say that Kansas's leads have been decreaing fast every game in the tourney. They are going to play UCLA's game.
Dan (Boston,MA)
Greg Oden's still a freshman as a big man.Not all centers can play like what Shaq did at LSU.
mark (NY)
Kansas is too athletic and deep to not win the tournament. NC is athletic and deep too but they are too young and inconsistent to win it all.
Jordan (Richmond, VA)
I think that Memphis plays too much of an upbeat game for OSU. I think Oden will get into foul trouble early. What do ya'll think?
Scott Sanders (Hanover PA)
I think UCLA wins by 2, another nail biting game that comes down to a last second shot!! Seems to be the way the tourney is going.
mark (NY)
Memphis has suprised me by how good they are. Remind me to watch Conf. USA next season.
Scott Sanders (Hanover PA)
I donlt think you have to worry about Oden I think you need to worry about everyone else. Oden hasn't done anything so far except make one block all the other guys are picking up the slack
chris (tulsa)
Georgetown will win it all this year and they will beat UCLA in the process
THE PULSE (2:28 PM)
Oregon-Kansas for the Final Four. Who wins tomorrow night? What do you guys think of this matchup?
Jake (WI)
I also thought Memphis was a joke considering the conf. they are in but i changed my mind
THE PULSE (2:30 PM)
Not Kansas! I meant Florida. My bad!
Steiny (NY)
Aaron Brooks is a beast. I got Oregon.
Jordan (Richmond, VA)
KU is very fast and can go on a long scoring run so I think they vbeat UCLA.
Jordan (Richmond, VA)
Fla. is too much for Aaron Brooks and Oregon. I got Fla.
Alex (CF, IA)
I had USC!!!!! How could they blow that 14 point lead???
mark (NY)
Greg Oden gets way too much pub. he is NOT even the best player on his team. Maybe NOT even the best freshman on his team.
Trevor (Iowa)
actually it was a 17 pt lead
Scott Sanders (Hanover PA)
You can't hold a great team down Alex..You know like everyone else Carolina is built to run all game long, and that they are gonna make a run sometime and most of the time it's at the end of the game. Give USC props for playing soo well and keep your eye out for them next year.
Jordan (Richmond, VA)
Easily UNC is too deep on the bench to get worn out like USC did and that was the difference maker in the game.
Steiny (NY)
I was very dissopointed with Winthrop. I had them winning it all!!!!!!
cody (Illinios)
I think in the final four it will be oregon vs. kansas the winner Kansas nourth carolina vs.G-Town NC then NC vs KU and Nc will win it all agian hansbrough and rashad terry or just to much
Walsh (NY)
Kansas is just too good for UCLA. UCLA will keep it close with D but in the end KU will pull away. 71-65
derto (N.Tonawanda,NY)
I think OHio State is going to lose tonight they had to close games that they should of won i got Memphis
mark (NY)
Oregon is good and will stay with Kansas for most of the game, but Kansas will pull away in the end. 83-71
tim (nj)
ucla will win the whole shabang
Dave (Flagstaff, AZ)
Tar Heels should feel awefully lucky Taj Gibson got his 4th foul. The Trojans were absolutely dominating UNC to that point.
Jordan (Richmond, VA)
Final 4 is going to be Fla., KU, Gtown, and Memphis.
asad (dytona beach, florida)
i really think that georgetown is going to meet ohio state in the championship game and georgetown will cut down the nets in atlanta. go hoyas!!
Jake (Syracuse)
Even though im from the Cuse, i have to root for GTown. Hibbert and Green will play HUGE against UNC
Peter Poulson (Philadelphia PA)
Their defense got shaky(usc)
Jacob (greensboro, NC)
asad, that game would be a final four game, not the championship game
Aaron (Williston, ND)
I think Kansas will go all the way
Walsh (NY)
USC is going to be great next year with the team they have now plus OJ Mayo.
Scott Sanders (Hanover PA)
Singing "just like '82, go carolina blue, cuttin down the nets in atlants too"
Dave (Flagstaff, AZ)
Much to Dick Vitale's dismay, it looks as though the ACC is a bit over-hyped. Pac-10 is really representing this March.
Dari Nowkhah (2:53 PM)
Jordan, I have everybody you have, except UCLA instead of KU.
Brett (Baltimore, MD)
The ACC is definately not overhyped. It was the most competitive conference all year long. All the teams that lost in this years NCAA tourny have lost close games that htey definately could have won
Andrew (Baton Rouge)
Let's talk about how the refs have completely screwed up that call at the end of the Georgetown-Vandy game. The better team lost, because the refs chose to ignore a clear walk. Nice to know the refs still hate Vandy.
Brian (Blacksburg, Virginia)
Some thought Michigan St. would beat the Heels. Many thought Texas would get'em in the Sweet 16. And when USC knocked off Texas many were saying the Trojans would beat Carolina. Now many are predicting G-Town will send the Heels home. While you guys keep picking against them, they keep on winning. Let's Go Tar Heels!
Walsh (NY)
Dari why UCLA over KU? KU is stacked. I have them going alll the way.
Dari Nowkhah (2:58 PM)
Walsh - 2 words - Bill Self. Until he proves that he can get a team over the hump - I'll take the team that was there last season. I don't trust KU AT ALL... and I'm a Big 12 guy.
Steiny (NY)
Dari what happened to our Winthrop?
Dari Nowkhah (2:59 PM)
I had them winning one and then losing! Hey, I got it right Steiny
Dave (Flagstaff, AZ)
Bottom line, how you do in March is the measuring stick. The ACC has one team left, and that's only because of USC's foul trouble.
Jordan (Richmond, VA)
Walsh I have KU going all the way also.
Dave
tell me that Oregon has a chance against Florida
Dari Nowkhah (3:02 PM)
Dave, Florida has looked awfully vulnerable in this tournament... Butler led them into the 2nd half, Purdue led them into the 2nd half - Oregon can score with Florida, but can they slow them down a little?
Walsh (NY)
Dari the game will not be close enough for Bill Self to mess it up.
Steiny (NY)
well i guess walsh beat me....we are in a pool together and i had Winthrop winning it all. He still has KU.
Brett (Baltimore, MD)
If u look back at they tournament, the ACC could have tons of teams left. They have all had close losses in the tourny. Georgia Tech lost by a couple of points and played UNLV bette than Wisc did. BC nearly came away with a win against Georgetown. Minus DUke all the ACC teams played well in the tourny
Walsh (NY)
The pac-10 is better than the ACC this year.
Dave (Flagstaff, AZ)
Kansas travels well, so it won't be too much of a home game for UCLA. But, Kansas has to slow down and frustrate Darren Collison if they're going to win. He's the catalyst.
CHRIS CARRASSCO (MODESTO, CALIFORNIA)
I THINK OHIO ST. IS GOING ALL THE WAY BECAUSE OF THEIR 2 FRESHMAN(CONLEY,ODEN)AND THEIR SENIOR LEWIS
Dari Nowkhah (3:03 PM)
Wow Chris - personally, I don't trust OHIO STATE one bit! I have Memphis tonight.
Jeff Green (Elite 8)
Thanks refs! Glad to know I can take four steps to make a game winning shot and you guys will have my back!
Walsh (NY)
Steiny it is not that hard to beat some one when they pick Wintrop to win it all. What were you thinking?
Brett (Baltimore, MD)
yeh Oden has been a dissapointment to me this tournament. He should be a man among boys, dominating the game, not getting in foul trouble
Dave (Flagstaff, AZ)
Dude, when you start into the "close loss" argument, then you've lost as well.
Walsh (NY)
KU needs top keep it up tempo and UCLA will have no chance. IF it goes slow then KU might be in trouble.
Scott Sanders (Hanover PA)
I have Memphis also...Think Oden is a little overrated, and there games have been way too close. Their luck has too run out sometime
Jordan (Richmond, VA)
I dont trust OSU either. I am with Dari on this one.
Andy (Baltimore Md)
The fact that Ohio St. can win close games in the tourney without Oden dominating just shows how good of a team they really are. If and when Oden shows up, the Buckeyes will be even better, a player that talented has to show up eventually.
Walsh (NY)
The refs just made Jeff Green a top 10 pick.
Dave (Flagstaff, AZ)
Actually, I've seen a few Pac-10 teams try an up-tempo attack, and surprisingly, UCLA can run with them. A team that can play suffocating defense AND run with anyone is a good pick for the title.
THE PULSE (3:10 PM)
We've got Matthew Berry, the fantasy baseball expert, coming on in a little bit. Any fantasy baseball questions you have, send them in NOW!
Walsh (NY)
Memphis vs. OSU is a tough game to pick because I just don't know what to expect from OSU, and still can't tell if Memphis is just good or a title contender.
Steiny (NY)
Hey Matthew, I was just wondering what your thoughts were on Paul Lo Duca.
Scott Sanders (Hanover PA)
Should I take a chance on drafting Clemens late for a run in the second half?
Andy (Baltimore Md)
The ACC represented fine in the tourney. The only team that was truly upset was Duke. So is a conference over-rated if only one of their teams is upset (I don't consider a five over a four to be an upset)
Roger Clemens (Tampa,FL)
Go ahead,I dare you to draft me on your team.
chris (MA)
Ohio State can play with anybody, and they should be able tokick memphis's tocus. Also Memphis is a horible ffree throw shooting team and if OSU i down by one and Memphis is at the line, they could miss the shots ROn Lewis brings the ball up and its the game winner.
Steve (Dallas)
Pulse, sorry I didn't show up today on time. Good to be here though!
Walsh (NY)
Barton College won the Div. 2 championship. woohoo!!
Steve (Dallas)
I went 7-8 in my Elite Eight picks. The game tonight between Kansas-UCLA could make my bracket a winner or bust my bracket.
Andrew (Baton Rouge)
Chris - OSU didn't deserve to get TO the sweet 16... I'd hesitate to say they're going to beat Memphis.
Steve (Dallas)
I can't wait to talk to Ricky Bobby and Napoleon Dynamite tomorrow!
Lane (Kukuihaele, HI)
VOTE FOR PEDRO!!!
Lane (Kukuihaele, HI)
When you win, you deserve to move on. No matter how ugly you win...
Jordan (Richmond, VA)
Iwent 8-8 in my elite eight and that KU game could also bust my bracket.
matt (iowa)
hey steve are you interested in the iowa job?
Walsh (NY)
Yeah Jordan went 8-8 wink wink
Steve (Dallas)
Memphis barely got by AandM, Andrew! How can you say that Ohio State didn't deserve to be in the Sweet 16?
THE PULSE (3:38 PM)
Steve Lavin and Andy Katz are on to chat some NCAA Tournament!
Steiny (NY)
Mark Walsh you are crazy dude.....KU is going nowhere!!!!!
Scott Sanders (Hanover PA)
They should have lost to Xavier..Odens foul at the end very questionable.
Andrew (Ohio)
Is it just me or does it seem OSU doesn't start playing until the second half?
Donnie (Kansas)
KU will win because Brandon Rush will stop Afflalo from scoring and robison will stop darren collison
Steve (Dallas)
Well, Pulse it has been a good show, yet a short one for me, see you next week!
Walsh (NY)
KU's athleticism will make the difference.
Lane (Kukuihaele, HI)
Thad Matta must make the best halftime adjustments...
donnie (kansas )
ku will win today b/c Rush will stop Afflalo and Robison will stop Collison from scoring
mark (NY)
Donnie is definitely not biased.
Steiny (NY)
You are wrong Walsh
Steve (Dallas)
Xavier got lucky that they took Ohio State to the limit, Scott Sanders.
Lane (Kukuihaele, HI)
JUST WIN BABY!!!
Tyler (Columbus,OH)
It should be a good game, but I think Memphis' luck runs out, they have played a very weak schedule
donnie (basehor, ks)
Douglas-Roberts is a great player and will score 22 points today against OSU
Tyler (Columbus,OH)
no matter how close ohio state gets they win, the only teams weve lost to are two other one seeds who are favored to make the championship and a 2 seed in Wisconsin
