Chat With DeLisha Milton-Jones
All season long, Tuesdays means WNBA action on ESPN2. It tips off with the Washington Mystics and Sacramento Monarchs on Tuesday night, May 22 at 7:30 p.m. ET.To help get things started right, Mystics All-Star forward DeLisha Milton-Jones will join us to chat on Tuesday afternoon, answering your questions and talking about the season. Milton-Jones bgins her second season in Washington and enjoyed a tremendous offseason in Spain. There is no doubt that she is fully recovered from past knee injuries.
With the full nucleus returning for another season, also featuring Alana Beard, Nikki Teasley and Chasity Melvin, expectations are as high as ever in the nation's capital. So can the Mystics return for the third trip in four seasons? Ask DeLisha when she stops by to chat 12:30 p.m. ET.

What do the Mystics have to today to win against a tough Sacramento defense?
DeLisha Milton-Jones (12:26 PM)
We can not turn the ball over and we have to make the extra pass.
Rupert, Silver Spring
Are the new uniforms more comfortable and easy to play in?
DeLisha Milton-Jones (12:27 PM)
I think the uniforms from last year made us look frumpy. And the uniforms make us look like ballers.

First I just wanted to say that you are one of the greatest players in the WNBA. But I would like to know what are your goals for this coming season and what are you all doing to to accomplish them?
DeLisha Milton-Jones (12:29 PM)
My goal for this season is simple, just to assert myself on the court. It's about being aggressive and being smarter defensively.
Holli - Silver Spring, MD
The Mystics seem to continue to have trouble on the defensive end, preventing the 2nd and 3rd opportunity shot. What efforts is the team working on to tighten defense?
DeLisha Milton-Jones (12:32 PM)
Sometimes I think our best defensive is our offense. In our first game this year, we put ourselves in a situation to where we would come down on the offensive end with maybe 12 seconds on the shot clock. The other team would get the ball and score quickly. That's our number one problem. Number 2 would be the offensive rebounds by the other team. To solve this problem we must box out completely and attack the glass.

hey delisha i wanted to know if u still good friends with your old sparks teammates
DeLisha Milton-Jones (12:33 PM)
Yes, I am still ggood friends with many of my former teammates. Tamecka Dixon is one of my best friends.
kevin (macon ga)
What's up with the goggles? Hope you didn't get poked in the eye or something!
DeLisha Milton-Jones (12:34 PM)
Actually i did get poked in the eye. It was in the Spanish League finals against Nicole Powell's team. Nicole accidentally poked me in the eye. I sustained damage and I now I must wear goggles. I like my stunner shades.
Geoff (Baltimore)
Hi DeLisha - Do you prepare differently when you have tv games and do you get excited to play on ESPN?
Stephanie T. (Richmond, VA)
The Mystics seem to now have some stability in terms of key players and the coaching staff...Can you tell a difference this year and is it something that will play a role in how the team plays in 2007? Good Luck!
DeLisha Milton-Jones (12:35 PM)
I take every game the same, whether it's TV or no TV. The important thing to focus on is the game itself and winning it.
DeLisha Milton-Jones (12:36 PM)
Yes, I can tell a difference, and that difference is we're getting through our system a lot faster because everyone is familiar with it. I'm hoping this will be an advantage for us early in the season while other teams are trying to gell and find chemistry we will have it.
Sarah
How far do you think Washington can go?
DeLisha Milton-Jones (12:37 PM)
Washington holds the key to their destiny, depending our consistent play night in and night out.
Jimmy Currier (Hinesville, GA)
How did the off-season go in Spain and what do you have to say to everyone back in Liberty County?
DeLisha Milton-Jones (12:38 PM)
The off-season went well. We won the Spanish League championship and we finished second in Euro League.
Sarah (Los Altos, CA)
As you get older, how have you been able to stay in great shape?
DeLisha Milton-Jones (12:39 PM)
My health is something I take seriously. Even if I wasn't a basketball player I would still stay active and live a healthy lifestyle. But because I am a basketball player there is a trememdous drive in me to stay above the competition.
Courtside (DC)
What will our guards have to do tonight to stop Sacto's terrific backcourt?
DeLisha Milton-Jones (12:40 PM)
Play tenacious defense by making every shot attempt physical.
Judith (DC)
I love your competitive spirit, and the fact that you think winning 18 games is embarrassingly low. What will it take for this team to win more this year?
DeLisha Milton-Jones (12:41 PM)
Being consistent with our play.
Megan Vogel (Brookings, SD)
Hey D... just wanted to tell you to kick butt on Tuesday! I would give anything to be out there with you guys.... just wait one year... and we can rip it up together. Alright? I'll be back to DC in a few days, see you then!
DeLisha Milton-Jones (12:42 PM)
Hi, Megan. It was great having you for a teammate for the short time you were here. Keep your competitive spirit and your great work ethic and I'll await your return next season to the Mystics.
DeLisha Milton-Jones (12:43 PM)
I want to say hi to my mom, Beverly. Thanks to all those that support the Mystics and to the WNBA as a whole.
