Urijah Faber (left) will defend his WEC featherweight title June 3.

Faber will take on Chance Farrar (3-0) during a live WEC event June 3 at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. The fight can be seen live on Versus, starting at 9 p.m. ET.

Faber is 18-1 as a professional MMA fighter and is the current featherweight belt holder in WEC. He successfully defended his title for the third time in March, when he recorded a submission over Dominic Cruz at 1:38 in the first round.

Faber, 28, is a California native, going by the nickname ''The California Kid.'' He was a successful high school wrestler and had collegiate career at the University of California at Davis. He began his college wrestling career as a walk-on but quickly earned a scholarship. He finished his career as the UC Davis all-time win leader.
