Chat with NBA draft prospects

The six prospects - Corey Brewer, Kevin Durant, Al Horford, Joakim Noah, Brandan Wright, Julian Wright - will be at the camp from the EA Studio in Vancouver. While there, they'll work out with ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Bilas as well as getting the behind the scenes look at how EA Sports creates video games.
The 37,000-square foot EA facility in Vancouver, which was completed in August 2005, is the largest motion capture studio in the world. It houses two stages that are used by all of EA's world wide studios to capture animation data.

Kevin's calling in right now!
sean boogie
what made you wear #35
Kevin Durant (12:26 PM)
I wore 35 because my first coach ever died when he was 35. I just wanted to honor him.
Matt Reckmeyer, Falls Church, VA
Kevin, What do you expect from yourself during your rookie season? What do you believe your team will expect from you?
Kevin Durant (12:26 PM)
Just to get better and better every day. Work hard. Play with passion. I think every team can expect that from me.
Andrew (Charlotte, NC)
To Kevin Durant: What current NBA player would you compare your game to?
Kevin Durant (12:27 PM)
That's a tough one. I'd say probably Dirk Nowitzki, with the way he can shoot and post up.
Josh T (Tacoma, WA)
How do you feel about seattle, honestly?
Kevin Durant (12:27 PM)
I've never been to Seattle before. I'm willing to go anywhere. If I were to go there, I guess I would like it. But I've never been, so I don't know.
Joey (OR)
Kevin, what are your thoughts about possibly playing with fellow Longhorn Lamarcus Aldridge assuming Portland drafts you #1?
Kevin Durant (12:28 PM)
That would be great, especially to go up there with someone I know. It would be great to help me transition to the NBA a little easier.
Mike Wilken (St. Paul, MN)
Kevin, For NBA Live 08, what are some characteristics to your game that you would want to define you. Any signiture moves that you would want included (besides the double ankle breaker, step back and pop it in your eye move that you perfected at Texas)?
Kevin Durant (12:29 PM)
Beating on my chest. Everyone sees me doing that when I make a good play. Fade aways in the post. Between the legs, hesitation. Anything would be good for me. Just to be on the game is a plus.
Irfan: (Olney MD)
Which NBA Player do you most want to dunk on?
Kevin Durant (12:29 PM)
I don't know. I guess whoever jumps up with me. But I don't know.
Steve Chicago
Kevin, what will be your first car you buy with the big bucks coming your way?....I would say a Bentley, can't go wrong with that beast!
Kevin Durant (12:30 PM)
Good question. I would say I would by my mom a 750. Other than that, I don't know.
Houston, TX
Kevin, did it ever cross your mind to stay in shcool, because i know it was hard for me to leave UT.
Kevin Durant (12:30 PM)
Yeah, it crossed my mind plenty of times. But I had to do what I had to do. But I felt I was ready to take on the challenge.
Jeff (Iowa)
What will you miss the most about college?
Kevin Durant (12:31 PM)
Just hanging around with my teammates. Joking around with them. Just playing in the college atmosphere.
Nate (New York City)
Do you feel like you are and always will be compared to your fellow lottery star and soon to be colleague Greg Oden?
Kevin Durant (12:31 PM)
I don't know. I guess so. We came out the same year of high school and for the draft. But it really doesn't matter to me.
Lehi utah
hey kevin , What do you think Of playing with Ray allen and rahard lewis if you get drafted by the sonic.
Kevin Durant (12:32 PM)
If I go to the Sonics, that would be tremendous, playing alongside two all-stars. I know they would teach me a lot of things.
Noel (Toronto)
Kevin, cant wait to see you in Toronto. Whats your fav NBA team?
Kevin Durant (12:33 PM)
I was a big Toronto Raptors fan growing up. I was a big Vince Carter fan when I was growing up. To go play them would be fun.
Jason ((Mableton,Ga))
What are your goals in the nba?
Kevin Durant (12:33 PM)
Just to progress every year, every game. To help my team get better each and every game. Help my team anyway I can.
Sebastian (Philadelphia)
Besides length, what else would be your major selling points on the defensive end? We all know you can drop 30 on any given night.
Kevin Durant (12:34 PM)
Me being long and my feet being quick. Being in position and blocking shots.
Justin (Columbus, OH)
What are you taking away most from your college experience?
Kevin Durant (12:34 PM)
Just being myself. I was always shy when I was in high school. Being in college really opened me up a little bit.
Dan (Boise, ID)
Congrats on your nomination to Team USA! How does it feel?
Kevin Durant (12:35 PM)
First of all, thank you. Also, it's going to be a great honor to play against them. It's going to be fun.
Jon ((Dallas))
Out of all the players you went against last year in the NCAA, who was the best player, other than you?
Kevin Durant (12:35 PM)
Oooh. Julian Wright. He would just hit shots over the top of me. I said, I couldn't do anything to stop that.
John Balcita (Carson, CA)
Before a game, do you listen to any music to pump you up? What's your pre-game ritual?
Kevin Durant (12:36 PM)
Before the game, I just sit and be focused. I listen to Usher before the game. It calms me down a little bit.
Jason (New Hampshire)
Are you going to finish your college degree?
Kevin Durant (12:37 PM)
Most definitely. I already talked to my academic advisor at Texas. Whenever I can come back, they're glad to help me out.
Scott (Reno)
How much did that Acie Law rainbow shot at the end of regulation surprise you?
Kevin Durant (12:37 PM)
It wasn't surprising at all. They called him Big Shot Acie. Once he let it go, I knew it was going in.
Martel (Dayton,OH)
Do you have a shoe deal yet?
Kevin Durant (12:38 PM)
No. I don't have one yet.
Tarak (Amherst, MA)
Do you turn your game to another level (like flipping on a switch) when a close game is winding down.
Kevin Durant (12:38 PM)
No, I was always taught that great players do it every game, every day. At different parts of the game, it's different, but every time I step on the court, I'm playing hard.
Jimmy (Howell, NJ)
yo kevin what is your favorite movie?
Kevin Durant (12:39 PM)
Love and Basketball is my favorite.
Steve (Canada)
Do you agree with forcing players to do one year of University? If so, why not 2 orf 3?
Kevin Durant (12:39 PM)
It helped me out, so I can't complain about it. I won't say it's a good rule or bad rule.
Brent (Knoxville, TN)
If you didn't play basketball, what sport would you have played??
Kevin Durant (12:40 PM)
I played football when I was really young. That was about it. If would be in school studying if I didn't play basketball.
Buzzmaster (12:40 PM)
Thanks Kevin!
Buzzmaster (12:40 PM)
Next up is Joakim Noah! Send in your questions for him NOW!
Buzzmaster (12:46 PM)
We've got Joakim!
Julius (Ormond Beach FL)
YOOOGE GATORS fan, cant wait to follow your pro career. How did it feel to win back to back? can you even describe it?
Joakim Noah (12:48 PM)
It's undescribable for me. We had so much fun. I feel like we really accomplished something really special. We worked really hard. We didn't take the money after our sophomore year. We did it the right way. It was really special.
Kevin (Seattle)
Joakim, what does your dad think about you leaving college?
Joakim Noah (12:48 PM)
I speak to my father almost every day. He's told me to follow my heart. He's happy with the decisions I make. I'm sure he had his opinions.
Dez (Portland)
any regrets about not entering the draft last year, where you would have been #1?
Joakim Noah (12:49 PM)
Definitely not. I feel like I accomplished my goal which was to come back to college and win another championship. When you're a No. 1 pick, you're stock can't get any higher. I feel like I'm ready to get to the next level now. I still have to play hard and get better every day. I have no regrets.
Mike Natusch (Atlantic City)
Hi Joakim! Since your dad was a big time pro back in the day with Tennis do you feel this will help you adapt better to the pressure the NBA may bring?
Joakim Noah (12:50 PM)
I think that especially when you're playing in the Final Four, there is a lot of media. So I feel that Florida has prepared me a lot. Right now it's about getting better and getting ready for the next level. Also, having a guy like my father helps, definitely.
Martel (Dayton,OH)
You just seem to have so much energy. How do you do it every game?
Joakim Noah (12:51 PM)
Well, I'm definitely someone who loves the game. I feel like if I can get my teammates pumped up, that's who I am as a person. I'm not faking anything. It comes naturally. That's just me, someone with a lot of energy.
Ray (Chicago)
So Noah, its pretty fair to say the Bulls have a good chance to draft you. What would you thin about joining a team like them and do you think you could provide the inside scoring the need?
Joakim Noah (12:52 PM)
That would be so exciting. I would love to play in a situation where I could play for a prestigious team that's a contender to play for a championship. If I could go there and effect winning in any way I can. You never know what's going to happen in the draft.
Andrew (Faifield CT)
How easy do you think the transition will be from college to the NBA, you had a lot of success in college?
Joakim Noah (12:53 PM)
Well, hopefully, I will have a lot of success in the NBA too. Right now, I have no idea how that transition is going to be. I'm just excited to be in that situation and getting better.
Kenton (Indianapolis, IN)
Joakim, what do you think you need to work on the most before entering the NBA? Foul shooting? Jump shot?
Joakim Noah (12:54 PM)
Oh yeah, definitely my jump shot. But I feel that right now it's my jump shot, my strength. I feel like I can get better in everything. You can always get better in everything.
Chris (Los Angeles)
Who was your favorite player growing up?
Joakim Noah (12:54 PM)
Growing up, I loved watching the Knicks play. There wasn't one particular player that I liked, but I liked their team's physicality and how much heart they had. I loved watching Ewing and Olajuwon play.
Mike (bensalem PA)
Noah, if you had to convince a college freshman to stay in college, what would you say to him?
Joakim Noah (12:55 PM)
First of all, I wouldn't convince anybody. I would just tell them to follow their heart. It's on you to make your own decision. When you're in the place to stay or go, everyone has an opinion on it.
Robby (Gainesville, FL)
Joakim, who's the better NBA prospect Corey, Al, or Yourself?
Joakim Noah (12:56 PM)
Well, I think that a lot of people have talked about it, but it's what a team needs. If they need a high post big, low post big, a good perimeter player. It all depends on what a team needs. I have no idea who's the best NBA prospect.
Shaun Lexington, KY
What was your favorite team to play in the SEC and why?
Joakim Noah (12:57 PM)
Tennessee is a big rivalry. Kentucky is a great rivalry. The SEC is such a tough conference because you have to come ready to play every night.
Ryan: (Indianapolis IN):
Now that your entering the NBA will you ever do something with that hairstyle, or will you keep it real?
Joakim Noah (12:57 PM)
I'm going to keep it real. I'm going to always be me. I'm going to keep my hair.
Alex (Kentucky)
Do you like video games?
Joakim Noah (12:58 PM)
I'm not a big big video game player. I'll play once in a while.
Martel (Dayton,OH)
Why #13? I guess youa??re not a superstitious person?
Joakim Noah (12:58 PM)
No, I'm very superstitious. I think it brings bad luck to my opponents, not to me.
c.c. (san francisco, ca)
yo joakim, what nba player do you most compare yourself to?
Joakim Noah (12:59 PM)
Honestly, I have no idea. I don't see any NBA players that I feel that I'm similar to. Some people say Marcus Camby and others, but I feel like I'm very different. I have no idea. I'm just going to be me.
matt (nyc)
how do you think the gators are going to fair next year?
Joakim Noah (12:59 PM)
I think a lot of people will sleep on the Gators, but they'll be fine. I think they'll shock a lot of people.
Joakim Noah (1:00 PM)
When you do that, sometimes it fuels the fire to prove everyone wrong.
Joakim Noah (1:00 PM)
I never knew I had so many fans. It's cool. I appreciate it.
Buzzmaster (1:01 PM)
Thanks Joakim! Next up is Julian Wright!
Buzzmaster (1:02 PM)
Julian is here!
Burr (NJ)
What's going to be your first major purchase after you sign on the dotted line?
Julian Wright (1:02 PM)
I'm not sure really, it hasn't hit me yet. I want to take care of my family.
B-Lo (Hialeah, florida )
julian we all know you get up there..who in the league would you most like to dunk on?? best of luck
Julian Wright (1:03 PM)
That's a good question. I don't know. It will take a while. I'll have to work on my free throws first, because I'll be on the floor if I try to dunk on someone.
Eric (Topeka)
Big KU fan Julian, What have you learned from your short time with the Jayhawks?
Julian Wright (1:04 PM)
I learned a lot of things. I matured a lot. Time management. Everyone sees us in uniforms.
Alec (Hoover, AL)
Durant said that you were the best player he faced. How do you feel about him?
Julian Wright (1:05 PM)
That's funny, because I reciprocate that back. I just think coming in to college, I think we both just want to get better. He's a winner and I'm a winner so it makes it hard to play against when he has a passion for the game.
c.c. (san francisco, ca)
yo julian, many compare you to the suns boris diaw. do you feel you can be that type of versatile player that he is?
Julian Wright (1:05 PM)
I feel like I can be that and more. I feel like I'm more of a play maker and do things off the dribble. I feel like I have a little Odom in me, because he can rebound a little and make some plays.
Bryan (Indy)
What do you think about Bill Self as a coach?
Julian Wright (1:06 PM)
He's a great coach. Just going in there, I felt like I was never uncomfortable in going into his office to talk to him. I wouldn't be in this situation if it weren't for Coach Self and his staff.
Bo (Memphis)
Julian, would you be opposed to playing in a small market like that of the Griz?
Julian Wright (1:07 PM)
I haven't really thought about that as much in terms of marketing. I'm going to go wherever I'm going to go. I feel like this draft is so deep that me and any other player can bring a lot to the teams in the lottery. I feel like I can contribute and start and be in the community wherever I go.
Mike: (Corpus Christi,tx)
Hey Julian as of right now what team would you like to be picked by if you had a choice?
Julian Wright (1:08 PM)
Well the draft is an interesting thing. It's not an exact science. It's hard for me to pinpoint a team that I'd like to play with. A team that has some veterans that can guide me. That would be the best situation for me to develop in.
Brian (Durham, NC)
Julian, do you like macaroni and cheese?
Julian Wright (1:09 PM)
I love macaroni and cheese. I haven't had it in a while. I have to start cooking for myself, so I might as start there.
Jordan (Deerfield)
Hey Julian, what aspect of your game do you feel you need to improve upon most in order to be a major contributor in the NBA?
Julian Wright (1:09 PM)
I feel like I can be a major contributor now, but I know my perimeter shooting is what I need to work on the most. I look at it like a bonus that I can be a really good player in the league.
David (Chicago)
What would you think of playing with former Kansas star Kirk Hinrich?
Julian Wright (1:10 PM)
I'm starting to follow the Bulls and seeing how young they are. That would be a great situation to play with him. That would be a good fit.
Keene (Louisville Ky)
Julian - how tall are you? I have seen everywhere from 6'7" to 6'9"
Julian Wright (1:11 PM)
Well, I'll find out for sure in Orlando. Whatever they say goes. Last time I checked I was 6-8 1/4. But the measurements in the predraft camp are official. I can't change those.
Randy (Lawrence, KS)
How well do you think the jayhawks will do next year?
Julian Wright (1:12 PM)
I believe they have a lot of talent. The sophomores to be are going to be major contributors. Bringing in some McDonald's all-americas will be good.
Thomas (Corvallis OR)
Is it cool to see yourself in video games?
Julian Wright (1:12 PM)
Oh, I haven't played too much. But if I were to play, I wouldn't play with myself too much. It's great to see other guys in the game. It is cool. I tried to build myself in the games, but it never worked out. Now it will be a little more accurate.
az Mpls,Mn
what would you think about playing along side with K.G.?
Julian Wright (1:14 PM)
That would be a great situation. He's a guy that I've looked up to playing. I didn't know how tall I'd grow up to be, but I patterned myself with him being inside and outside. I think for a lot of players he is one to follow, a big guy playing outside.
Justin (WI)
Who was the toughest matchup you faced while in college?
Julian Wright (1:14 PM)
Kevin Durant, twice. He's a long player. He has a nice shot. He's hard to guard. He's locked in on the basket. You have to anticipate his moves, but he has an array of moves.
Matt Wylie, TX
Why come out now instead of waiting another yr to work on your overall game?
Julian Wright (1:15 PM)
Well, I looked at it as an opportunity to develop my game at the highest level. I didn't think about the pros during the season, but after getting some information I felt my stock was high. I didn't think it was as big a deal to move up just a few places. I figured I would make the jump against the best players in the world.
Julian Wright (1:16 PM)
I just know one thing, it's a big jump just in workouts. I appreciate the support of the people helping me out.
Buzzmaster (1:16 PM)
Thanks Julian!
Buzzmaster (1:17 PM)
Next up is Al Horford!
Buzzmaster (1:18 PM)
Al's here!
Josh (Fairfield, CT)
What do you look forward to the most in the NBA?
Al Horford (1:19 PM)
I think the thing that I look forward to the most is playing the best basketball in the world against the best players.
Luke (Chicago)
Do you think you'll be a starter in the NBA?
Al Horford (1:20 PM)
What I'm trying to do is step into a situation and play right away. That's something I would like to accomplish and help the team out.
Kasper Strand (Copenhagen, Denmark)
Wazz up Al, what position do you feel would suit you best in the NBA?
Al Horford (1:20 PM)
I feel like I would feel more comfortable playing the 4. But if I had to, I could play the 3 and the 5.
John (Atlanta)
Who do you model your game after?
Al Horford (1:21 PM)
Wow, that's a tough question. My game is a little different. I feel like I can do a bit of everything. But one of the players I admire are Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett. I wouldn't say my game is like them, but I like their passion.
frank (new york)
Al - Who do you think is the best big man you faced in college and why?
Al Horford (1:22 PM)
I faced a lot of big guys. I would have to say Greg Oden would be one of the best big men. We faced a lot of them, but with him being 7 feet and explosive around the rim makes him tougher to guard.
Justin (WI)
Do you feel your two national championships will help prepare you for the big stage?
Al Horford (1:23 PM)
I think so. I think being a part of a winning team and all the experience I was able to soak in will help me in the NBA. I think it's important that I know what it takes to win championships.
AJ (Orange park, FL)
Hey Al, what do you to all the Noah haters?
Al Horford (1:24 PM)
Those Noah haters, that's what they are, they're haters. I feel like Jo, after winning the first title and being the face of Florida basketball, the expectations grew for him. But we just needed him to be the player that he is. We didn't need him to change. He's a team player and he wants to win.
charles thomas (atlanta,ga)
Al who do you think the best player in the NBA is right now?
Al Horford (1:25 PM)
I think the best all-around player right now is probably Kobe Bryant. He's a great defender and a very hard worker and talented offensively.
Alex (Kentucky)
Do you like any animals?
Al Horford (1:26 PM)
I don't have any pets, but I don't mind animals. I don't mind having them around.
Mike (Phoenix)
Are you and the boys going to buy houses together on an island now with all your money?
Al Horford (1:26 PM)
That's not a bad idea. We've never really talked about that, but I'm sure we'll try to get together in the offseason.
John (Cloquet, MN)
Al, which NBA player or players are you most looking forward to playing against?
Al Horford (1:27 PM)
I'm just excited in general that I'm going to the NBA. I don't have anyone in particular, but I'm just excited about the opportunity.
Drew ((PA))
Do you expect to be in the top 5?
Al Horford (1:28 PM)
Yeah. I feel like I'm working hard enough and getting in shape. I feel like I should be drafted in the top 5.
Ryan (Houston, TX)
If you could pursue anything besides basketball, what would it be?
Al Horford (1:28 PM)
If I wasn't playing basketball, my major is communications. So, I would do broadcasting for TV or radio or maybe some real estate. That interests me too.
Dan- LA
What other sports do you enjoy/play?
Al Horford (1:29 PM)
I play a lot of sports I like. I play ping pong, soccer, I like to swim. Volleyball, beach volleyball. I like to play football. I pretty much play everything.
John (Holden, MA)
Do you think that Durant and Oden are head and shoulders above the rest of the draft class? I think you and you band of Florida teammates are just as good as those two.
Al Horford (1:30 PM)
Everybody has their own opinion, but people just feels like the way Kevin came in and dominated the college game, there's a lot of upside. And Greg is so big and a 7-footer, but I think we're talented and should be ranked up there as well.
Al Horford (1:31 PM)
Thanks for supporting me. I've got a lot of love for everyone.
Buzzmaster (1:31 PM)
Thanks Al! Next up is Corey Brewer!
Buzzmaster (1:35 PM)
Corey's here!
Cory (Maria Stein, OH)
Hey Corey, who was the dirtiest out of your 3 roomates?
Corey Brewer (1:36 PM)
Has to Joakim Noah. Clothes all on the floor. Stuff just everywhere. Just dirty.
John (GA)
What players did you look up to as a kid?
Corey Brewer (1:36 PM)
When I was growing up, I was a huge Scottie Pippen fan and Penny Hardaway. I looked up to those two guys.
Jay (Alton, NH)
Corey, I love your all-around game. What do you think is your best quality or enjoy the most, and what do you think you need to work on? Hope to see you in Boston! Go Green!
Corey Brewer (1:37 PM)
My best quality is probably defensively. I get things done defensively. I need to work on being a consistent jump shooter off the dribble.
Matt (Boston)
How do you feel like you would fit in Boston?
Corey Brewer (1:38 PM)
I would love to go to Boston. It's a great sports city, I hear. I've never been there. I wouldn't mind going there. They have some great players.
Jake (Gainesville)
Cory, How's your dad doing?
Corey Brewer (1:38 PM)
He's doing a lot better. His leg is healing. He's feeling a whole lot better.
Allen: (Upper Arlington, OH):
In your opinion, who is the best player in this draft class?
Corey Brewer (1:39 PM)
I think there's a lot of great players in this draft class. It's hard to say who's best, it depends on the team that's picking.
Noah (Houston, Tx)
What are your expectations for your rookie year and what do you hope to accomplish?
Corey Brewer (1:39 PM)
My rookie year, I just hope I have the chance to come in and play and help the team as best I can. I just ask for the chance to be on the court.
Heath (East Lansing, MI)
How well do you think the Florida basketball program will do next year with so many key players like yourself going to the NBA?
Corey Brewer (1:40 PM)
I think they'll be just fine. Coach is a great coach and they have some great talent coming in. They have a chance to become contenders by the end of the season.
Eric (Chicago)
As a teammate, what did you think of Joakim's dance after you won the SEC title?
Corey Brewer (1:41 PM)
That's just Joakim Noah. If anybody knows him, they know him he's been doing the same dance since our freshman year. That's his go-to dance.
Drew ((PA))
What do you think about LeBron passing in game 1?
Corey Brewer (1:41 PM)
Everybody's criticizing LeBron for not taking a shot, but if you watch it Marshall was wide open in the corner. It was a great pass.
Christopher (Toronto, On)
What number do you wanna rock in the NBA?
Corey Brewer (1:42 PM)
Hopefully, I get to wear the No. 2. But you never know what number you have to wear.
Mark - Florida
Which Gater do you think will be drafted highest?
Corey Brewer (1:43 PM)
I've been asked that question a whole lot. To be honest, I don't have a clue. It depends what the team wants. I'm a wing, a guard. So if the team wants a guard, it will be me. Then we have two bigs.
Scott (Morristown, NJ)
What is your diet like? are you strying to bulk up or slim down when you hit the nba?
Corey Brewer (1:43 PM)
I'm trying to gain weight. I'm trying to gain a lot of weight. No one will see me if I slim down.
tim (redwood shores, ca)
What kind of car will you buy with your first paycheck?
Corey Brewer (1:44 PM)
I have no idea. I haven't thought about it yet. But it's going to be a nice one.
Ryan (Atlanta)
Who would win 1 on 1 you or Taureen?
Corey Brewer (1:44 PM)
Oh, me. He's too little. I'll take him into the post. But it would be a great matchup.
Brian (Durham, NC)
2 is retired for the celtics, how about 4?
Corey Brewer (1:45 PM)
If I have to chance my number to go to Boston, then I guess I'll change my number. I wouldn't mind it at all.
John (Gainesville, FL)
Corey, I already miss you and the rest of the '04's! Are you guys going to come back and visit?
Corey Brewer (1:45 PM)
Of course. We all plan on coming back and visiting. We love Gainesville. Every chance I can get I'm going to come back and support my Gators.
Corey Brewer (1:46 PM)
I appreciate all your support.
Buzzmaster (1:46 PM)
Thanks Corey! Next up is Brandan Wright!
Buzzmaster (1:52 PM)
Brandan's here!
Pete (Chapel Hill, NC)
What was your best memory from playing UNC basketball with Roy?
Brandan Wright (1:52 PM)
My best memory is probably the way at the beginning of the season everyone had a lot of expectations that we wouldn't get along with so much talent. But we stuck together and hung out together. The family relationship we had.
John (Atl, GA)
What is the best part of your game?
Brandan Wright (1:53 PM)
I think I do a lot of things well. I think I can make plays that people don't expect me to make. Sometimes I wow myself in doing some things. I think I shoot the ball at a high percentage.
ryan (melrose,ma)
Brandon, people have compared your style of game to Chris Bosh.Thoughts?
Brandan Wright (1:54 PM)
That's a great comparison. If I want to get to his status, I have a long way to go to get to that status. I just want to be the best I can be.
Marty (The "D" Detroit)
Brandan, can the fans send you some steaks, pasta or something? You've got to gain weight my friend. What are you doing to put on weight?
Brandan Wright (1:55 PM)
Right now, it's tough to put on a lot of weight, because you want to look as good as you can on the court. But as soon as the draft is over, I'll be hitting the weights and going on a strict diet.
Brendan {Pittsburgh}
Why did you go to the NBA?
Brandan Wright (1:55 PM)
It was a lot of things that factored in, but I think the biggest thing was the chance to be a very high draft pick and take care of my family at a very young age. A lot of guys don't have the chance to take care of their family for life.
Jack ( Troy, NY)
Brandon.... Everyone else was asked so I'll ask you.. What will be your first vehicle you buy?
Brandan Wright (1:56 PM)
Honestly, I haven't thought about it yet. I have my eyes on a few things. My main focus is getting better right now. I might pick a BMW or a Benz or something.
Vimal (Albuquerque)
What is your favorite NBA team?
Brandan Wright (1:57 PM)
Honestly, I didn't really have a favorite NBA team. I started to like the Grizzlies when they moved to Tennessee because they were the closest team.
Sam (Denver, CO)
At what age did you first dunk a basketball?
Brandan Wright (1:58 PM)
I think I was like either 11 or 12 and I was maybe 6-1. It was in a practice. Coach put me at the three point line and he said we wouldn't have to run if I dunked.
Mike (Chapel Hill, NC)
What is your favorite movie?
Brandan Wright (1:58 PM)
Ooohh. That's a tough one. I have to go with Bad Boys II. I'm an action guy.
Dave ((Virginia))
Brandan, you shot over 60 percent last year... think you can crack that number again in the nba?
Brandan Wright (1:59 PM)
Definitely, because when I step on the court my main goal is not to take bad shots. I expect to shoot about the same percentage I did in college.
John (Atl, GA)
What do you think of the age limit in the Draft?
Brandan Wright (2:00 PM)
I think it's a good thing. It takes a lot of pressure off of a high school guy. I think it's a good move. It gives guys an extra year to see how you play against better talent. Gives you more of a chance to evaluate yourself.
Justin (Memphis, TN)
If you are a GM and have the number 1 pick in the draft, who do you take, Oden or Durant?
Brandan Wright (2:00 PM)
You have to go with Greg. Kevin is a great player, but when you have a person that can anchor the defense and you can force people to drive the middle and he can block your shot.
Logan (Pittsburgh, PA)
Which style of play do you enjoy most, zone or man?
Brandan Wright (2:01 PM)
I like playing man, because when you get in a zone, you tend to relax. In Carolina, we didn't play zone much. Playing man, you're focused more on what you're doing.
Brian (Durham, NC)
Brandon, will you miss the Carolina Barbeque?
Brandan Wright (2:02 PM)
Yeah, I'm going to miss it. I didn't get too much of it, but I'll miss it.
John (NYC)
Brandan, In this draft loaded with frontcourt talent, what do you think sets you apart?
Brandan Wright (2:02 PM)
I probably say that I offer to a team is a guy that offers up some matchup problems and can help out on defense. I'm a versatile guy. I can use my quickness. I think I offer a lot of different dimensions.
Marcus (San Antonio, Tx)
Where do you see yourself in 6 years.
Brandan Wright (2:03 PM)
I have high expectations for myself. Competing for the Olympic teams, my team competing for championships, all-star teams. I expect to make an immediate impact on whatever team drafts me.
Drew (Dallas)
What do you DISLIKE about all the attention of going pro?
Brandan Wright (2:04 PM)
It's a lot of things that come with having the expectations. Things like people always expecting you to be the best. You can't have let downs. You can't make mistakes.
Mike (Chapel Hill, NC)
What is your favorite TV show?
Brandan Wright (2:05 PM)
I watch Fresh Prince a lot. I watch a lot of funny shows.
Jon (Philipsburg,PA)
Brandan, where do you think you will end up?
Brandan Wright (2:05 PM)
That's so hard to say right now. With the trades and where teams go in the draft. It's hard to say, but I'll make the best of the opportunity.
Brandan Wright (2:06 PM)
Thank you for the support this year and in my career. I'm looking to please all the fans on the court.
Buzzmaster (2:06 PM)
