Chat with My Wish's Noa Ornellas
![]() |
ESPN and the Make-A-Wish foundation teamed up to give five special kids the experience of a lifetime - one day to allow them to experience the thrills of sports as a part of the "My Wish" series.
Ornellas wanted to meet Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat and persevered in his wish. At first, he waited one and a half years before he was told it may take another year before he could meet Wade. When told that maybe he should change his wish, Ornellas said he wouldn't change his mind - he wanted to meet Wade and he would wait another year if he had to. But, through My Wish, he only had to wait two more months before his dream came true.
ESPN SportsCenter's five-part "My Wish" series chronicles the granting of unique sports-related wishes for five children. Each story and experience will be featured on SportsCenter starting Sunday, June 24 and ending Thursday, June 28.
Ornellas will be stopping by Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. ET to chat. Send in your questions now!

How was the the trip to chicago . Also how nice was D Wade
Noa Ornellas (3:34 PM)
the trip to Chicago was good. I'd never been past California. I was a little nervous, but it was totally worth it. Dwyane was super nice just like on the court.
Matt eagan,MN
How cool was it to Meet Dwyane Wade? Thanks a lot Noa!
Noa Ornellas (3:35 PM)
It was awesome, he was even cooler in person. I couldn't have been picked a better wish.
Tom, Maine
Were you nervous talking to him and how was the flight?
Noa Ornellas (3:35 PM)
Yeah, I was a little speechless. It was a very long flight, but totally worth it.
Brian (Arkansas)
I'm very happy for you Noa. So have you now become the most popular kid around?
Noa Ornellas (3:37 PM)
Yeah, I'm really popular. When I went back to my school everyone wanted to play on my basketball team because I played with Dwyane. Kids at my local park came up and asked me if I was the kid from TV. I'm famous now!
chauncey (teaneck)
would you like to play in the NBA one day?
Noa Ornellas (3:39 PM)
very much so. That's my dream. I'm using some of the moves I learned from Dwyane on the local kids in my neighborhood. I use a behind the back move and I can flip the ball into the basket without looking.
Williamston, Mi
Do you think the Miami Heat will win it all?
Noa Ornellas (3:40 PM)
If everybody is healthy than yeah, I think they will win it again.
Kyle (Kansas)
How much does an experience like this make you want to fight your disease even more?
Noa Ornellas (3:41 PM)
It makes me want to fight my disease 110-percent.
Jake (Philly)
What was the best part of your experience?
Noa Ornellas (3:41 PM)
Everything was great, I can't pick just one thing. Meeting Dwyane, flying to Chicago. It was all great!

It was the bomb! i was really surprised because I was walking towards the limo when he asked me and I turned to my Mom and said that's cool!
chauncey (teaneck)

Noa Ornellas (3:43 PM)
It was fun and really nice weather. It was cooler than Hawaii.
Phillip (Tucson)
How are you able to follow the Heat, when they're an East coast team and you live all the way in Hawaii?
Noa Ornellas (3:44 PM)
whatever chance I get I Tivo the games to watch them later on. And if I miss the game then I watch SportsCenter to see what happened.
Noa Ornellas (3:46 PM)
I have to go, but thank you Make-A-Wish, ESPN and Dwyane Wade. This was a special experience and I will never forget it. Go Heat!
