Chat with Samuel L. Jackson

According to imdb.com, ''Resurrecting The Champ'' tells the story of an up-and-coming sports reporter (played by Josh Hartnett) who rescues a homeless man ("Champ", Jackson) only to discover that he is, in fact, a boxing legend believed to have passed away. What begins as an opportunity to resurrect Champ's story and escape the shadow of his father's success becomes a personal journey as the ambitious reporter reexamines his own life and his relationship with his family.

Samuel, Are you a boxing fan? who are some of your all time favorite boxers?
Samuel L. Jackson (10:49 AM)
Yes I'm a boxing fan. My favorite all-time boxer - Muhammed Ali, naturally. Sugar Ray Leonard. Floyd Mayweather. Oscar De Lay Hoya.
Brendan (Haverford, PA)
Samuel, was it fun working as a sports figure?
Samuel L. Jackson (10:50 AM)
It was fun. How many sports related movies have I done, other than Coach Carter? I can't think of any. But I've enjoyed the two that I've done.
Jason, La, california
Who is your favorite team in any sport at the moment?
Samuel L. Jackson (10:51 AM)
The University of Tennessee Lady Vols, who are the NCAA champions now. That was lost in the midst of the Imus mess.
Cole (Salem, OR)
Samuel, how does your choosing of a movie play out? Does your agent come to you w/ ideas, or do you go to them with ideas?
Samuel L. Jackson (10:53 AM)
I read the script. If I like the story and I think it will be interesting and compelling to watch, as well as me and if I like the character, then that becomes a choice. But just because I choose it, doesn't mean they will make it.
Zaheer B (Toronto, Canada)
I see you at a lot of Toronto Raptor games and I have read that you are a fan of the team. My Question to you is with the whole Boston transformation what do you think the chances are for a repeat of the Atlantinc crown?
Samuel L. Jackson (10:53 AM)
I think it will be tougher for them to do this year. Boston will be tougher. But I think the Raptors improved when they got Kapono. I expect them to do bigger and better things.

where does snakes on a plane rank, in your mind, on the list of movies you've been in. and if it's not your favorite, which movie did you enjoy the most?
Samuel L. Jackson (10:54 AM)
My favorite movie is Long Kiss Goodnight. Snakes on a Plane would be the favorite junk movie that I've done.
Bobby, Atlanta, Georgia
I loved Black Snake Moan. I've seen most of your big screen film work. How do you rate the film and your own performance in it when compared to your other career work.
Samuel L. Jackson (10:56 AM)
I think my performance in that film was award worthy. It's different. It's edgy. I think the character is complete and different from any character that I've done. Any character that makes me sing is different. I expect to win a Grammy for that, too.
Scott (Nashville,TN)
Hey Mr. Jackson, Will you be making another film with Quentin Tarantino anytime soon?
Samuel L. Jackson (10:57 AM)
I understand that Quentin is finally finishing this script that he's been talking to me about for the last 7-8 years about these black soldiers in WWII. Hopefully we'll be doing that sometime soon.
Irvin, Newport, California
Which character in any of your movies did you enjoy playing the most?
Samuel L. Jackson (10:57 AM)
My favorite character is Mitch in Long Kiss Goodnight.
Mike Mays/ Atlanta
how does it feel to be the coolest in the land full of cool?
