Glad to have everyone here. Let's go!
Should Ohio State critics relax and realize the Buckeyes have not palyed 5 of their 7 most difficult games?
Jim Donnan (2:05 PM)
They are a whole lot better than I thought they would be. But with their schedule, unless they have a horrible game this week I think they will be undefetaed going into Michigan.

Will LSU be able to move the ball on Auburn's defense. How low will this score be?
Jim Donnan (2:07 PM)
I think the real key for LSU is fidning a way to make big plays because Auburn tackles so well in the open field as we have seen this year. They need Deucet to make some plays. Also you have to worry about the aftermath of a 3 OT game, and how ready they will be. It will be a very low scoring game. I look for LSU to mix it up at QB, to give them a running threat at QB.

Can a one loss West coast team make it to the Championship game this year?
Jim Donnan (2:08 PM)
It is looking more and more that any one loss tam has a shot. Oregon's schedule sets up good for them, and they have as good a shot as anyone from the West Coast.

Who wins the shootout between Mizzou and TX Tech this weekend?
Jim Donnan (2:11 PM)
This is a game the nation should focus on because it will be an amazing offensive display. I look for it to be a game in which, whichever QB makes the big mistake will cost his team the game. Mizzou also has a bit of an edge on defense. I think this could come down top n OT game. Last year, Mizzoue forced a lot Tech into a lot of mistakes, so if they can do that again they have a good shot at winning.
How will the Gators fare this Saturday in Lexington?
Jim Donnan (2:12 PM)
I like their chances. I was impressed with how they played against LSU, and they have had some time off to get healthy, and their offense is a lot more potent than LSU's from the big play standpoint. I think the key is how their young secondary hold up against Woodson, and the big play Kentucky can make. But I like Florida in this game, especially when you consider the tough game Kentcuky had against LSU last week.
Alabama's offense can't really keep up with Tennessee's in a matchup of mediocre defenses, right?
Jim Donnan (2:14 PM)
This is the key of the game, because Tennessee's offense is more consistent than Alabama's and Tennessee's defense has gotten better. Alabama cannot fall behind early in this game because they just do not have the ability to comeback on them. Alabama needs to keep this a low scoring game; and Tennessee despite their losses is a much improved team and has a shot at winning the east.
Illinois lines up in the spread on offense, but relies mostly on the run. If they are not effective throwing on Saturday, are they in trouble? Or is their run game enough against Michigan?
Jim Donnan (2:16 PM)
Over the last few years Michigan has had toruble with anyone who spreads them out. They have played better but they have not faced anyone quite like Illinois. Michigan;s offense is going to have to help the defense with ball possesion. And the crowd will be in this game, and Illinois has a good shot. But yes, Illinois will have to pass the ball well because Michigan will game plan for the run.

So Arizona State gets though Oregon and USC (both at home)...do they get a shot at the title?
Jim Donnan (2:18 PM)
They have as good a shot as anyone. This has been a real surprise and the home games really help. Over the last year nad a half ASU has won more games in the Pac 10 than anybody. So if they can run the table thay have a great shot at the BCS. This is a team that has a lot of good elements.
Rick (Los Angeles, CA)
Hey there. Where does Rutgers get ranked after the upset? Thanks
Jim Donnan (2:19 PM)
They have a shot at being in the top 25, but they have lost 2 games and that puts them in a big grouping of teams. They are a top 25 team in my opinion. But people will look at the fact that they lost two games at home, which really hurts them.

Are Oklahoma locked in the national championship game given they win out the rest of season?
Jim Donnan (2:22 PM)
USF's loss helps them, and Oklahoma schedule does set up nice for them. Oklahoma is a very talented team, and their young QB Bradofrd is getting better every week. This is not a team I would want to play in the national title game. They are easily a top 4 team in the country.

Will Houston Nutt be fired after huge disappointments this year?
Jim Donnan (2:24 PM)
It is a situation with a new AD and a change in administration where I think they will have to win out to save his job. Nutt has done a great job, if you look at his overall body of work. The problem is all the turmoil off the field. But the situation they are in now will be hard to overcome.
David (New Orleans)
Could you see LSU being the underdog vs. any team at any venue this year? Wouldn't that make them No. 1?
Jim Donnan (2:27 PM)
I think certainly their team deserves tremendous credit for the schedule they have played already: Virginia Tech, South Carolina, KY, and Florida. They are right up there as a premier team. So it would be hard to say they would be an underdog against anyone at this point. But they need to get Deucet back and get things rolling again. And their defense showed a little vulnerability when they could not get a pass rush going.
How do you think first year Head Coach Randy Shannon and his staff are doing?
Jim Donnan (2:29 PM)
Their offense right now is one that is a work in progress. They have shown flashes and they have some good young backs. But they need consistency at the QB position, and until they get that they will continue to struggle a bit. But I hear they have a top 5 recruiting class coming in, so we will have to see how that plays out.
If Auburn can pull off the upset this weekend, where do they then belong in the national picture?
Jim Donnan (2:31 PM)
When you look at their body of work, it is impressive. But those two losses hurt. They are another team that in my mind that deserves credit as a ranked team. Their schedule sets up pretty good, with Alabama at home, and if they can get a win Saturday they are right there in the west.
what did you think of rutgers beating sfu yesterday?
Jim Donnan (2:33 PM)
It was an impressive win. You can say what you want about the trick plays, but it came down to a game of mistakes, with the fumbled punts and critical penalties. But that can happen in high-pressure games. I was impressed with how they ran the ball right at USF and converted enough in the passing game to make a difference. And right now it seems like every team in each conference can hang with the other. It is hard to have a dominant team in any conference right now.
Jim Donnan (2:34 PM)
I appreciate everyone writting in, and I look forward to our next chat!
