Bob Never Had a Question Answerd
Should I drop Holmes or L.Jordan to pick up Ryan Grant --- drop Gould to get Gostkowski
Scott Engel (3:06 PM)
I would drop Jordan now that Fargasstarts, and I would alos get Gostowoski who is a gem if he is he is still available
Joel (Atlanta, Georgia)
Should I drop Adrian Peterson (MIN) immediately?
Scott Engel (3:07 PM)
No - he can still return this year, just not certain whwn yet
Mike, OH
Scott, I can pick up one qb to back up Brees the rest of the way. Schaub and Warner are both available? Which one would get for the stretch run? Thanks!
Scott Engel (3:08 PM)
I like Schaub now that Andre Johnson should return after the bye
Marc (Toronto, Canada)
Scott, what are your thoughts on owning 2 WRs from the same team? I can get Coles for Chatman but I already own Cotchery. Thanks!
Scott Engel (3:10 PM)
I wouldn't lean too much on one team unless the passing game was explosive - I am sure you can get someone else similar for Chatman
Phil (Syracuse, NY)
Think Lynch misses this weekend's game?
Scott Engel (3:10 PM)
Too early to tell - he is day to day for now
John (MN)
Is Heath Miller a top 5 TE from here on out?
Scott Engel (3:11 PM)
No - but very close and should certainly be started in any league of eight teams or more
Marc (Toronto, Canada)
Scott, Shockey looked great yesterday. Is this a sign of things to come or should I sell high for some help elsewhere if I've got Vernon Davis as well? Thanks!
Scott Engel (3:13 PM)
Shockey could more of that of other teams play quarters and cover 3 more, which Eli did not handle well - I would not expect Shockey to explode every week, but I would not get rid of him either
David, Memphis
Do you think Bulger is on track now?
Scott Engel (3:14 PM)
Looks that way now that he, Jackson and his WRs are all healthy again
dave(praying in church)
Adrian Peterson..give it to me straight..best case/worst case
Scott Engel (3:16 PM)
All we know is he will miss at least one game and there is no solid timetable for his return yet - I am sorry, but I can't give you any reassurances or solid reports yet
Tim (MD)
You said that Bulger looks on track with Jackson and his WRs all healthy, but didn't Bruce re-injure his hammy?
Scott Engel (3:21 PM)
No word on the severity of that yet, but it surely helps that Bennett and Holt are healthy again, and Jackson is too.
Nathan, London
You said earlier that you wouldn't want too rely on 2 WR's from one team. I have the opportunity to get all Bengal WR's (I already have T.J. and Chad). With their soft 14-16 schedule (our playoffs) should I jump on this. Mind you, it is a 12 team league. Thanks!
Scott Engel (3:23 PM)
I would hesitate, because Johnson ha sbeen inconsistent and Henry will be too, although I like him as a third guy in a larger league - it will be great to have Hosuh then, but not all three can have huge days at the same time, so I look to be more diverse
Nathan-CLE
Is Steve Smith back? I mean in reality he has had only 2 bad games. I know the QB situation is bad, but Testaverde helps his value right?
Scott Engel (3:24 PM)
Testaverde is a better option than Carr, but Smith certainly is not reliable with Delhomme out
Evan (Physically at work, mentally elsewhere)
What's your take on the Giants D? Do I look for a team with a softer schedule like Tampa Bay?
Scott Engel (3:25 PM)
I think you carry two defenses and rotate them based on matchups - using NYG when they face weaker opponents
Troy (Pittsburgh, Pa)
Hey Scott. What's up? I was justwondering what your thoughts are on Adrian Peterson (Vikings) for the rest of the season?
Scott Engel (3:26 PM)
I simply hope he returns ina few weeks and I am glad the injury may not be season-ending - if he returns, it's a bonus now
MJD (JACKSONVILLE)
WILL I GET THE STARTING JOB NOW THAT "FRAGILE" FRED BROKE THE 10,000 YD MARK??
Scott Engel (3:28 PM)
Jones-Drew will always share a workload because the Jags don't want to overwork a smaller RB and think he is more explosive when he does not get regular touches
John (Kingston, ON)
How many leagues do you play in? Do you have 1 main league that you are in each year? If so, how are your team(s) doing?
Scott Engel (3:29 PM)
I play in seven leagues right now, thanks for asking - I am about to go 6-4 in my money league, 7-2 in another and have a losing record in one
Rob, Boston
Who do u like going forward, H Ward or S Holmes?
Scott Engel (3:30 PM)
Holmes - he is a deep threat and will outperform Ward in terms of yardage
Uri (Compton, CA)
Will Andre Johnson be a Top-15 wide receiver the rest of the way?
Scott Engel (3:31 PM)
Definitely - I think he and Schaub will start to click again right away
Jay (Denver)
Scott, Been holding out on my flex to see if Gore is healthy. Who would YOU play tonight: Gore, Morris, Engram. Thx.
Scott Engel (3:33 PM)
Gore is not 100 pct and Morris not much of a TD threat, so I would go with Engram who will start again at flanker again with Branch out
lee (ny)
associated press says AP is out up to 3 weeks...
Scott Engel (3:34 PM)
Dr. Michael Kaplan of ESPN Medical now says at least two to four weeks
Tom ( SoCal )
Hey Scott, PLEASE HELP! I have Big Ben & Brady. What kind of RB could I get for Big Ben? (I'm an AP owner). Thansk for your input.
Scott Engel (3:35 PM)
I think his value is high and you could get a top 10 guy, but be mindful that reliable RBs are scarce now too, so be patient when shopping
Mike (KY)
I need to know which Seattle TE will play tonight, could you help?
Scott Engel (3:36 PM)
Looks like Heller again, and I would not expect much from him
John (Little Rock, AR)
I have McGahee, S Jax, with Gore as my 3rd RB (some more depth after Gore). Should I trade Gore and Driver (my 3rd receiver) for Portis? The offering owner is begging me to do it.
Scott Engel (3:37 PM)
If you cn use Portis as a flex and have good WR depth remaining, sure
Justin (Crying in misery)
Now that Peterson is out for at least a week or two, my RB situation is up in the air. I'm starting Steven Jackson for sure. But do I go with Kevin Jones and his negative yards or do I take a chance on Chester Taylor?
Scott Engel (3:38 PM)
I would rotate them based on matchups, and I like Taylor better in Week 11
tim (new orleans)
Hey Scott. Gore (if he plays) or Hackett at flex? Thanks.
Scott Engel (3:39 PM)
I would use Hackett - Gore is not 100 pct, I fear, and I like how Hackett looked last week
Joel (Roscommon,MI)
Is Kevin Jones even healthy ? Reports are his foot was flaring up yesterday.
Scott Engel (3:40 PM)
He did leave with a foot injury - no confirmed reports on the severity of the injury yet
Maurice Morris (Seattle)
Scott! Can I have a good night stepping in for Shaun, against a bad Defense???
Scott Engel (3:41 PM)
I expect decent yardage from Morris, but I would assume goal-line chances would go to fullback Leonard Weaver
Greg Philadelphia
I have Brady and Romo as my quarterbacks, and I only have one good RB. Should I trade Romo for a good running back or keep him in case the Pats don't want to play Brady in the last few games?
Scott Engel (3:43 PM)
The Cowboys could be facing the same situation as the Pats, conceivably - I would get another backup QB in any trade - make it a 2 for 2 deal
AL (CA)
How many times is too many to ask the same question? I'll try once or twice more. Trying not to bombard you. Please tell me what to do with Watson and Rudi Johnson. I can't use either right now and I have both along with Harrison and Branch on my bench. I would really love to drop one to get Chester Taylor. Thanks
Scott Engel (3:45 PM)
Thanks for your patience - there are many people trying to get through and we do as many as we can - consult the Answer Guys for guaranteed responses Drop Watson, as Rudi is getting more work recently
Zach (Detroit)
Since Adrian Peterson won't be playing this week who do you suggest I pick up in free agency
Scott Engel (3:47 PM)
That really depends on who is available in your league and what size it is - desperation choices include Mewelde Moore, Leonard Weaver, Tatum Bell, Anthony Thomas
Josh (DC)
Do you think Housh's and Ocho's numbers will drop now that Henry is back?
Scott Engel (3:47 PM)
Not really - they cannot depend on the ground game and will have to throw a lot
Kyle (MD)
Why is everyone so concerned about the Pats sitting their players. If the playoffs are weeks 14-16, you will be fine. The only real concern is week 17 (and playoffs should never be that late anyhow)
Scott Engel (3:48 PM)
I think it can be a real concern by week 16. They can easily have the top seed wrapped up by then
Kirby
Will Branch bounce back sometime this season or would you grab Hackett instead?
Scott Engel (3:49 PM)
I would have both - Branch plays flanker, may return next week, and Hackett is the split end - they are both good starts for the weeks ahead
Marty (Columbus OH)
I have McNabb and Warner at QB. Who should I play in week 11? They both have great matchups.
Scott Engel (3:51 PM)
I would go with McNabb - Warner's non-throwing elbow could still hinder him at any time
Nick (NC)
What's you're take on T Jones? I have been offered him in exchange for Bowe. I could use a little depth at RB and would be left with HArrison, Edwards and Holt at WR. Branch, Crayton, and C Henry are available on waivers.
Scott Engel (3:52 PM)
Jones has been a big disappointment and I would only take him if I were desperate - plus, he faces Pittsburgh next week
Alan (Orlando)
The answer guys are great, but you are insulting your own intlelligence if you think we can get the same kind of insight that you provide....My QB is Rivers and I have been offered Brees, Roy Williams, and Benson for Wayne, MJD, and D. Williams. Accept, Decline, Counter?
Scott Engel (3:55 PM)
I AM one of the answer guys, and so are many of our writers - you WILL get similar answers - I am just trying to help any one we can not get to today I would like to see you keep Wayne and see if you can move MJD for agood QB instead in a smaller deal
John (Seattle)
Hi Scott...MNF Madness is here!!! Do you still see Engram having a solid game tonight with the nasty weather? Projection?
Scott Engel (3:56 PM)
That team is used to the conditions out there,a nd we cannot overrate weather when dealing with professionals - I see Engram going over 100 yards with a score
Dana (Boston)
I own both Brady and Favre. Should i trade Favre or hang onto him in case Brady is sitting the second half of week 15-16.
Scott Engel (3:58 PM)
I would deal Favre and make sure you get a backup QB who is adequate in the trade - Favre can help you upgrade at another position if you take a downgrade at QB who is decent, maybe like Garcia
Christina (Chicago)
Patten, Bowe, or James Jones going forward? I can only keep 2.
Scott Engel (3:59 PM)
Bowe for sure, and Patetn has become reliable, and Jones is incosnsistent - if you must drop one, it is Jones
Adam (Miami)
Gore or Morris?
Scott Engel (4:00 PM)
Morris - he has no health question ssurround him like Gore does
Dave (NY)
You think I can push B. Marshall and D. Bowe for Kellen Winslow? The team with Winslow's second receiver is N. Burleson.
Scott Engel (4:00 PM)
I think you have to wait to find out the extent of Marshall's injury first
Eric (San Antonio)
Willie Parker: Will he ever score another TD? Should I trade him?
Scott Engel (4:01 PM)
The TDs will be occasional, but many RBs are hurt or unreliable right now, and I would want to keep him for good yardage totals
Shaun (Charlotte, NC)
My league starts two QB's and you get one point for a completion. I have Romo, Big Ben & Anderson. Since it is a two QB league, it is a good idea to trade one or should I just stand pat.
Scott Engel (4:02 PM)
I would stand pat - you need the backup if you start two
Jake (San Diego)
I already have San Diego Defense, I was offered Braylon Edwards for Chad Johnson and Chicago Defense, should I accept?
Scott Engel (4:03 PM)
I woulod definitely do it - Edwards has certainly played better overall than Johnson
Steve (Philly)
Yeah, the Pats may have everything wrapped up by week 16...but look who theyre playing - the Miami Dolphins. If you dont think Belichick wants to shove it down Shula's throat, youre nuts. Theyll go for 50 in that game, minimum. And week 15 is the payback for Spygate - the Jets...
Scott Engel (4:04 PM)
Very true - good points - but it's always good to have the insurance
Phil (Chicago)
Any word on Frank Gore for tonight?
Scott Engel (4:05 PM)
He is expected to play and looked better in Saturday's practice
Dan in Boston
If Maurice Morris has a good game tonight, would you think He would take over the starting job in Sea?
Scott Engel (4:06 PM)
No - he has never been much of a short yardage guy or made for a heavy workload Thanks a lot everyone!
