Nick (Kingston, Ont, Can)
Hey Scott... I'm desperate here in my local league. Any word about the RB in situation in Miami? Is Chatman playing, or will Gado get the start? Thanks!
Scott Engel (2:59 PM)
Looks like Chatman right now, but he is definitely banged up and is certainly not an ideal start this week
Matt (Springfield, IL)
Scott, what do you think about playing Dante Stallworth against the "daunting" Ravens D on Monday?
Scott Engel (3:00 PM)
Baltimor's defense is no longer a top unit - Stallworth is a decent No. 3 fantasy WR this week
Joe from New Jersey
WHo will have a better week? the vikings defense or the lions defense
Scott Engel (3:01 PM)
I like the Vikings better to force Kitna into some turnovers
Ben (Minneapolis)
Brees or Warner this week?
Scott Engel (3:02 PM)
Warner - Cleveland has allowed the most TD passes in the NFL
Matt (Springfield IL)
Scott, who is a better pick-up this weekend, Anthony Gonzalez (IND) against Jacksonville or Ted Ginn Jr. (MIA) against the Jets?
Scott Engel (3:03 PM)
Gonzalez for sure - he should start for Harrison again and has a way better QB situation
Burr (NJ)
Scott, I have A. Peterson and C. Taylor, who do I start?
Scott Engel (3:04 PM)
I would go with Taylor - Peterson may be eased back in slowly
matt (FLORIDA)
Nate Washington or Justin Cotchery?
Scott Engel (3:05 PM)
I would use Jerricho Cotchery for sure as long as the finger problem does not keep him out of action
Joe (MA)
Pls pick 2.. Bush, Chatman, Dunn
Scott Engel (3:06 PM)
I would go with Bush and Chtaman - I rarely gamble on Dunn, no matter the matchup
Mike (Carbondale, IL)
Buffalo has been seemingly very cautious with their stud rookie RB...why would MN rush AD back like this?
Scott Engel (3:07 PM)
I am sure they are not rushing him - he's a franchise player and was nearly ready to go last week - they gave him another week of rest, which is certainly not rushing him
dan(Minn)
Is Calvin Johnson a good WR2 at this point? How would you compare him to Brandon Marshall or Bobby Engram? Thanks
Scott Engel (3:08 PM)
I see him showing some real signs of improvement late in the year but not as reliable as the other two you mention just yet
monte - ready to make a deal
chargers D or skins D?
Scott Engel (3:09 PM)
Washington - they will be facing Trent Edwards and Fred Jackson in an emotional day for them
Chris (LA)
Graham or AP (minn) this week?
Scott Engel (3:09 PM)
Graham - he has been playing very well and has no health questions surrounding him
Gerald (Alabama)
Chester Taylor or Gore?
Scott Engel (3:10 PM)
Gore - he has been running much better the past two weeks and I really like his matchup
Eddie(chas)
Scott, Steph mentioned in the chat this morning that a decision is coming down today on Henry's appeal. Do you have any insight?
Scott Engel (3:12 PM)
I have read that a decision may indeed come down today but I am not privvy to any inside info - I am sure our NFL insiders will be the first to report it when something is decided
Kenny (Texas)
Fargas or Maroney this week?
Scott Engel (3:13 PM)
I would go with Fargas - you have to like him against Denver - Maroney continues to be mostly unreliable
Joel (East Longmeadow, MA)
Please help me out and pick one of these guys for my flex spot: K.Watson, S.Alexander or Reggie Williams.
Scott Engel (3:14 PM)
Watson is hurtinga nd Alexander has been a big bust, so Williams for a possible score
Mike (Chicago)
Reggie Bush or Branch? (Flex position)
Scott Engel (3:15 PM)
Even though i like Branch this week, gow ith Bush for more touches - the Bucs D could get overworked if Garcia does not play
Erik (Boston)
Anthony Gonzalez or Dwayne Bowe this week?
Scott Engel (3:16 PM)
Gonzalez - he has been a fine fill-in for Harrison as a starter
Jeff (SF)
Your rankings are really down on Kolby Smith this week . . . any particular reason why?
Scott Engel (3:18 PM)
They're not down on him, he is rated to be a an adequate No. 2 guy this week - I don't expecta great week from him, but he will be adequate against SD
Mike (Hogsmeade)
Harrison is a huge albatross that is weighing my team down. Is he worth keeping for the playoffs (Wks 15-16)? I'm afraid he wouldn't be that effective even if he returns by that time. If not, who is a better pickup? S Rice or Gage? Thanks for the chats!
Scott Engel (3:19 PM)
The Colts are holding him to be assured that he iwll be 100 percent when he returns - I would not drop him
Tony (NYC)
Do you see Sidney Rice having a decent game this week. Should i use him as my # 3 WR?
Scott Engel (3:20 PM)
Rice is not dependable yet and I think there are many other better options you can find out there
kit mpls
Anthony Gonzales or Steve Smith?
Scott Engel (3:21 PM)
Gonzalez - it's time to give up on Smith and Burress as regular starters
Jeff (SF)
Thanks for answering! You have Graham ranked as a #1 this week, even on the road against the #9 rush defense and with Garcia out. What am I missing?
Scott Engel (3:23 PM)
Of Garcia is out, Graham becomes the focus of the TB offense against a defense that looks good against the run because everyone throws on them. TB will run the ball successfully if they want to
Jen (Charlotte, NC)
Selving Young or Fragile Fred for flex this week?
Scott Engel (3:25 PM)
Freddie is no longer fragile, but I like Young better, especially as a scoring option
CJ (Michigan)
Injuries have forced me into starting either Javon Walker or Anthony Gonzalez as WR3. I would like to go with Gonzalez, but I'm already starting Wayne. Should I go with the Colts double dip, or roll with Javon? Thanks!!
Scott Engel (3:25 PM)
I don't have much confidence in starting Walker yet, so go with Gonzalez
Phil (Chicago)
Chester Taylor or Shawn Alexander
Scott Engel (3:27 PM)
Taylor for sure - Alexander is not fully healed and also may share carries with Morris
Matt (Chicago)
Is the reason you'd play Taylor over AP is that you expect Yaylor to get the bulk of the carries (like 23 vs. 7)? If they do a straight split, like earlier in the year, I would think APete would be the guy.
Scott Engel (3:28 PM)
I am not expecting the straight split - Childress has said Peterson will be eased back into action
King (San Diego)
Would you go with Dayne(A.Green is out) or Kolby Smith?
Scott Engel (3:30 PM)
I would go with Smith, who already strikes me as a better goal-line runner already
Jay(Los Angeles)
Will Chi. Peterson step in and have a good game? Playoff spot at stake
Scott Engel (3:31 PM)
I believe so - he's a very strong runner who can also catch passes
Dave (PHL)
Seattle or San Diego D this week?
Scott Engel (3:32 PM)
I go with Seattle - I think Feeley crumbles under a heavy pass rush this week
Mike (DC)
VY or Garrard and why? Thanks!
Scott Engel (3:33 PM)
Garrard is simply more steady and will not be intimidated by the Indy defense
Bob (newton, ma)
Brees or Warner this week?
Scott Engel (3:34 PM)
Warner - great starting option this week - has played well recently and gets a great matchup this week
James (DC)
The Jags are my only D...would Wash, NYJ or Miami be a better spot start this week?
Scott Engel (3:35 PM)
Washington is a terrific start, especially with the Bills depleted in the backfield
Matt,MPLS
Do you go Warner over Anderson?
Scott Engel (3:36 PM)
That's a close call, but I like Anderson better, slightly - they will both have good games but Anderson is less of an injury risk and the Rattay factor always annoys me with Warner
Joel ( Roscommon MI)
Scott, AP2 or Kevin Jones this week ? PPR
Scott Engel (3:37 PM)
I go with Peterson - no health questions surrounding him, while Jones plays through a sore foot
John (WI)
What do you expect out of Fred Jackson this week?
Scott Engel (3:38 PM)
Not much at all - he will be working against a fired-up defense and is strictly a desperation play
James (DC)
Drop Hackett for A Gonzalez? Worried that Hackett won't be ready to play even in weeks 15 or 16...
Scott Engel (3:41 PM)
I would only worry about now, and with Hackett out two or more games, it is time to get Gonzalez if he is available
Monte (Easton, PA)
Lee Evans or Javon Walker?
Scott Engel (3:41 PM)
I would take the shot with Walker - Evans will be invisible this week
Jesse (Forest Hills, NY)
Scott, which two do I start: Bush, Kolby Smith and AP (Chi Version). Thanks!
Scott Engel (3:43 PM)
Peterson and Bush shouldgive you more yards from scrimmage and better chances of scoring
Jesse (Forest Hills, NY)
Scott, I cant beleive the mets traded Milledge for that!! which two do I start: Bush, Kolby Smith and AP (Chi Version). Thanks!
Scott Engel (3:44 PM)
Me neither! They could have gotten more somewhere else. I believe I just answered that RB question :)
Sammy (Davis, CT)
Give me one reason why we should listen to your advise. Are you in a fantasy league? What is your record?
Scott Engel (3:45 PM)
No, I have never played fantasy football before. Good question.
RC (Gtown)
If Westbrook doesn't go, should I use CHI AP, Kolby, or Fred Taylor in .5ppr league?
Scott Engel (3:47 PM)
I would not worry about Westbrook sitting, really. In case of a shocking deactivation, though, I would use Peterson
Paul T. (Cincinnati)
You're awfully high on Gonzalez - and he hasn't done too much. I'm flipping between him and Dwayne Bowe. Why should I start him instead of Bowe?
Scott Engel (3:49 PM)
Gonzalez had a 10-5-yard outing last week and already has a seven-catch game - but I like Bowe better just a bit
Chris (Baltimore, MD)
Galloway or Engram? thx
Scott Engel (3:50 PM)
Galloway - he always kills the Sainst, and NO still has a shaky pass D
Mike, Cleveland
Not to get ahead of myself, but playoffs start next week. Do you expect Lynch to be back?
Scott Engel (3:51 PM)
He is making progress towards returning and there seems to be a legitimate shot he could be back by then
RC (Gtown)
Supposedly Braylon will play, but I'm afraid of a flare-up early in the game and subsequent low fantasy score. Use Branch instead (.5ppr)?
Scott Engel (3:52 PM)
Don't create extra worries if he is ready to go - lock Edwards in
Frank(Medford, MA)
I told you Travis Henry would start yesterday!!!! ahaha. You got all grumpy. Admit you were wrong now and apologize. Tubby loser.
Scott Engel (3:54 PM)
Travis Henry didn't play yesterday. And if you consider 215 pounds tubby, you must be very small ...
Justin Gage, TN
Do you like Anthony Gonzalez better than me this week?
Scott Engel (3:55 PM)
Yes, I like Gage, but he is not a big-play threat like Gonzalez
James (Wilmington DE)
Fargas or Earnest Graham, who is a better start this week?
Scott Engel (3:56 PM)
I would take Graham for better chances of scoring
Joe - Indiana
Way to shut him up. I wouldn't even print his questions.. Big Ben or Warner?
Scott Engel (3:57 PM)
I would go with Warner - weather could curtail Ben's production in Pittsburgh
Mike (Carbondale, IL)
Are you Anthony Gonzo's agent or something? Is he seriously a top 30 guy? I'm sorry, I don't see it.
Scott Engel (3:58 PM)
He runs great routes and has good hands - and Manning will look for him a lot - I am not his agent - wish I got a cut! -
Dennis (Tampa)
Is Fitzgerald's hammy going to slow him down? I hear he is a GTD. Should I go with him or sit him?
Scott Engel (4:00 PM)
Actually, it is the groin, and with his late kickoff you should start considering other options
Jeff (SF)
You have Jason Hanson ranked much higher than your ESPN compatriots, and rightly so, I think. How does that happen? Do you guys spend a lot of time breaking down kickers or do the ranking reflect general reputation?
Scott Engel (4:01 PM)
Thanks Jeff - I think the Lions will sputter in the red zone a few times this week against Minnesota
Andy (washington, dc)
I'm trying to decide between three questionable backs for my flex spot: Rudi Johnson, Reuben Droughns and Fred Jackson. I'm worried that the first two might not get enough touches to generate points. Thoughts?
Scott Engel (4:02 PM)
I would go with Droughns for the best chance of a TD and quality touches - not looking good for Jacobs Thanks a lot everyone!
