What up Lavelle? What do you expect to run your 40 @ the combine? E-House!!!!!!!!!
Lavelle Hawkins (3:32 PM)
I will not expect anything. I do not want to put any limits on myself.
Khalil (San Jose, CA)
How are you preparing for the combine?
Lavelle Hawkins (3:33 PM)
I am just working on a lot of technique stuff. I am laso eating right and lifting a lot of weights., just trying to get in the best shape possible.
Joey C. (NY)
Lavalle, what are your plans for draft day?
Lavelle Hawkins (3:33 PM)
My plans are to just be at home chllin, relaxin, watching the draft. I am not going to have a party or anything...at least not until afterwards.
Kevin (Emeryville, CA)
What are you gonna miss the most about Cal?
Lavelle Hawkins (3:34 PM)
My teammates. We had some great times together. And putting on that blue and gold uni every week. I am really going to miss that.
Tom
Now that you graduated...is there one Pac-10 team out there, who you could not stand playing because you thought they were jerks?
Lavelle Hawkins (3:35 PM)
No, I thought everyone in the Pac-10 was very respectful I never really got into that with guys. Everyone was just out there trying to play the game.
Joey C. (NY)
How do you think you stack up with the other wide receivers of this years class?
Lavelle Hawkins (3:36 PM)
I think I stack up well. I can do everything they can do. The onyl thing they may have on me is a little more height, but that is it.
Justin (NYC)
Lavelle, What is your favorite Cal memory?
Lavelle Hawkins (3:37 PM)
My favorite memory...I have a lot of them. But the victory against Tennessee, and seeing everyone play as a team going 100 mph, and coming out with a win was great.
Chris (DC)
What NFL team intrigues you the most to play for?
Lavelle Hawkins (3:38 PM)
I don't know. Everyone interests me right now. I never really thought about it.
Phil (Berkeley, CA)
Who's faster? You or Jahvid Best?
Lavelle Hawkins (3:39 PM)
Best of course.
Lavelle Hawkins (3:39 PM)
But if you ask who is quicker I will say me.
Sean (Fort Eustis, VA)
Thanks for answering questions Lavelle, You were very impressive during Senior Bowl week, causing your draft stock to rise, but do you plan to do all the events at the Combine? I am very interested to see your forty, and even more curious about the first ten. Here's to seeing you as a Stl. Louis Ram this year and good luck.
Lavelle Hawkins (3:40 PM)
Thank you very much. But yes, I plan on doing eveyrthing at the combine.
Kevin (Emeryville, CA)
Can't wait to see you do The Hawk in the NFL! You are gonna keep doing The Hawk, right?
Lavelle Hawkins (3:41 PM)
Most, most definitely. I am doing it right now in Arizona. I am making everyone do the Hawk out here.
Tyler (Berkeley, CA)
Who'd you admire most growing up as a kid, and which teammate will you miss the most from Cal?
Lavelle Hawkins (3:42 PM)
I would have to say I really admired Jerry Rice, as far as a football player. And I am going to miss a lot of people. I can't just sa one guy. I will miss my whole team.
Chuck, California
Lavelle, what will you miss most about Cal/Berkeley off the field? On a side note, thanks for making all those spectacular catches as a Bear--I think I lost my voice because of you a couple times.
Lavelle Hawkins (3:43 PM)
Thank you Chuck! Off the field, I will miss the college atmoshpere. It can be something as simple as going to class and then catching a bite to eat and chilling out.
Steve (San Francisco, CA)
What's up bruh bruh? How does stayin in the bay sound while wearin that red and gold?
Lavelle Hawkins (3:44 PM)
It sounds great. Just to play my whole career in the Bay area would be great and I grew up a 49er fan anyway.
Mary (Stockton, CA)
Thanks Lavelle from the gold zone for all the great catches the last few years! GO HAWK!
Steven (Berkeley, CA)
Have you and Robert Jordan spent time preparing for the combine together?
Lavelle Hawkins (3:45 PM)
No Robert is in LA, and I am in Arizona. But we talk almost every night, just talking about the whole proccess.
Jason Hattiesburg, MS
Do you have any Rookie goals set for your first year in the NFL?
Lavelle Hawkins (3:46 PM)
No, I do not have any goals set. But I do want to go out there and make the team, and get better every year. That is the only goal I have right now.
Rex, San Fran, CA
Where do you project yourself in the draft and what WR position are you most comfortable at??
Lavelle Hawkins (3:47 PM)
I feel I can play either spot. I think I can do it all. And I do not really know where I will go. of course, I would like to say first round, but it depends on team needs. So I would say somewhere in the first round.
Lavelle Hawkins (3:48 PM)
That's all the time I have for today. Thanks for the questions! Go Bears!
