Chat with former Texas WR Limas Sweed

Sweed played in only six games in 2007, after suffering a season-ending injury Oct. 6 against Oklahoma. In the six games he did play, he led the team in receiving yards two times, including a five-catch, 139-yard, two-TD performance against Rice on Sept. 22. He finished with 19 catches for 306 yards and three TDs.
Sweed led the team in receiving in 2006 with 46 catches, 801 yards and 12 TD catches.
According to Scouts Inc., Sweed "looks the part of a Pro Bowl NFL wide receiver physically. He lacks elite top-end speed and his effort as a blocker can improve. Otherwise, Sweed has everything NFL teams look for in a No. 1 wide receiver."

Jamal Ramstein Germany
Scenario im a gm i need a wr sell yourself to me in one sentence
Limas Sweed (2:29 PM)
I'm reliable and dependable.
D (MI)
Would you categorize yourself more as a vertical threat or a possession receiver?
Limas Sweed (2:30 PM)
I do both. I do it all. I can come across the middle or take them deep.
Chase (Houston, TX)
How's the wrist?
Limas Sweed (2:30 PM)
The wrist is doing fine. It is back to normal. The range of motion is at 75% right now but I have been able to catch everything that comes my way.
D (MI)
What is one aspect of your game that you feel that a lot of people overlook?
Limas Sweed (2:31 PM)
I think a lot of people do not think I can run that fast. But I think that is a good part of my game.
Brad (Gadsden,Alabama)
Limas, Who was your fav. NFL player and team growing up?
Limas Sweed (2:33 PM)
Growing up I was always a fan of top rated WR, obviously Randy Moss was a guy, as was Steve Smith and Chad Johnson. As far as teams, I liked watching the Vikings back in the day, and San Francisco and Dallas. I tried to learn from wtaching the top WR on those teams.
Alex (Huntington, NY)
Do you talk to Vince Young about the draft to what it is like?
Limas Sweed (2:33 PM)
Yes I have. I talked to him a week ago, and he told me not to watch TV and just stay focused.
Marv (Dallas)
In your college career, which was the most obnoxious and annoying team you faced and really wanted to beat?
Limas Sweed (2:34 PM)
Probably the Arkansas Rozorbacks.
Buzzmaster (2:37 PM)
Hey folks Limas had an unexpected meeting he had attend. But we are going to try and reschedule and get him back in the chat sometime this week. We will hold on to all of your questions for him.
Buzzmaster (2:56 PM)
Hey gang. We talked to Limas and something unexpected came up. But we'll be bringing him back on at 5 p.m. ET. So come on back then!
Buzzmaster (5:06 PM)
Limas is back, everyone!
Tom Beaumont, TX
What do you feel that you need to focus on to raise your game to be successful at the next level. Love to see you with the Cowboys.
Limas Sweed (5:07 PM)
Really, I try to focus on everything. One day, it could be route running, releases the next day, the deep ball the day after that.
Trey (GA)
What WR in the NFL do you most compare yourself to?
Limas Sweed (5:07 PM)
I'd say a mixture of Randy Moss and Marvin Harrison. I'd like to be able to run by guys and get the jump ball, but at the same time I take pride in running crisp routes.
Toby (Fargo, ND)
This is a very deep draft for WR, how much do you think your numbers in the combine will determine where you are ultimately selected in the draft?
Limas Sweed (5:08 PM)
Ultimately, I think a lot of guys question my speed, so the key thing is to show them that I can run fast. It'll show ultimately how high or low I go in the draft.
Corey (Philadelphia, PA)
Limas, what has been your single greatest college football expierience while at Texas? Good luck at the combine and on April 26. Hook em' horns.
Limas Sweed (5:09 PM)
It'd have to definitely be winning the national championship.
Kyle, Waseca MN
Hey Limas what do you think of possibly haing Vince Young as a teammate again.
Limas Sweed (5:09 PM)
I think that'd be cool. Obviously we had great chemistry in college. To reunite in the NFL would be great.
Vito Corral (El Paso, TX)
Hey Limas, I know a lot of people compare your game to that of Roy Williams. What do you think separates your game from his?
Limas Sweed (5:10 PM)
Probably the height difference. I try to obviously take some of Roy's game and assimilate it. He's a great receiver. That's a tough one.
James(Fort Worth, Texas)
Have you been able to train since your injury to get back to the level you were since it occured?
Limas Sweed (5:11 PM)
I've been down in API training, working on my 40 start right now. I'm back to catching balls at 100 percent.
Steve Dallas, TX
I have to say Limas, that I hate Texas with all my heart. But did you guys ever beat the crap out of Arizona State. Was that "boot camp" Mack put you through worth it?
Limas Sweed (5:12 PM)
It definitely was worth it. It's the same thing in the NFL. Anything that's worth something, you have to put in the work to get it. That's what they made us do at the University of Texas.
Dan (Portland)
Does the type of offensive system a team runs matter to you (West Coast, Power I, 4-WR Spread, etc.)?
Limas Sweed (5:13 PM)
Not a lot. I can pretty much come in and adjust to anything. I feel I'll be able to adapt well wherever I am.
Ben (Buffalo, NY)
Vince Young or Colt McCoy? Which one did you feel more comfortable playing under in college?
Limas Sweed (5:13 PM)
I felt good with both of them. They're different guys with different things they bring to the game. I learned something different from each guy. As long as they were 100 percent healthy, that was all that mattered.
Limas Sweed (5:14 PM)
Thanks everyone, and sorry for the misunderstanding earlier!
