Chat with former Kent CB Jack Williams
![]() |
Williams led his team in INTs last season, picking off three passes. It was the third straight season he led the team in INTs, grabbing four in each of the two previous seasons. For his career, he finished with 15 INTs. In 2007, he also was second in tackles with 93, including a team-leading 70 solos.
According to Scouts Inc.'s Todd McShay, Jackson might be slightly undersized (5-8, 181), but has the "quickness and speed to contribute as sub-package corner in the slot."
Send in your questions now, then join Williams on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. ET!

We've got Jack!
Mark H. (Bowling Green, OH)
Who was the best WR you played in college?
Jack Williams (2:32 PM)
Hmmm, let me think. I would probably have to say Greg Jennings.
Brad (Gadsden,Alabama)
Jack, What NFL CB do you compare yourself to?
Jack Williams (2:34 PM)
I don't think I have a specific corner. Before Pacman started getting into trouble, I compared myself to him because he's a little shorter. He likes to hit and is a playmaker. The last time he was on the field, he was doing some good things.
Phillip(miami)
Where do you want to see yourself picked in the draft and by what team?
Jack Williams (2:34 PM)
I really don't have a specific place. I'd like to be picked as high as possible. Ending up on a team is a blessing to me. I'd like to end up on any team, the higher the better. But I'll play for anybody.
Brandon (Knoxville)
Jack, How are you on Madden '08?
Jack Williams (2:35 PM)
I'm OK. I haven't played as much as I used to play. I kind of got away from it. I'm pretty good though. I'm one of the top guys on the team.
Craig Juneau, AK
What do you say to the Critics who say "you are too short" and there is no way that you could cover receivers like Calvin Johnson or Plaxico Burress?
Jack Williams (2:36 PM)
What I say to people that ask me about my height, I say it's different when you're on the field. I can jump. I can jump as high as the receiver and it makes it tough for them to catch the ball.
John, Florida
What was your favorite NFL team growing up?
Jack Williams (2:36 PM)
Dallas Cowboys.
Chester, Fort Washington MD
Hi! The Ravens are a powerhouse when it comes to defense. Knowing our schedule, we will play numerous teams that show three WRs at a minimum. Do you think you could emerge as a nickel-back starter?
Jack Williams (2:38 PM)
That's funny, because I said I'd like to play for anybody, but I could always see myself playing in a Ravens uniform. They basically focus on defense. I would like to play with them, Ray Lewis, Ed Reed.
Barbato (Scranton, PA)
Who was your favorite team and player growing up?
Jack Williams (2:38 PM)
My favorite player was definitely Deion Sanders.
Drew Galloway, Ohio
What NFL teams have you interviewed with to date?
Jack Williams (2:39 PM)
I haven't had a combine-type interview yet, but I've talked to a few teams at practice. A few teams have been in and out. But I haven't sat down with anyone yet and had a full interview.
Brandon, D.C.
Would you prefer to go to a Cover-2 scheme, or would you rather play more press coverage?
Jack Williams (2:40 PM)
For me, I don't think the scheme would matter for me. I like to cover. I like to play a Cover 2 corner. I could do both and I like to do both. Any team that would take a specific type of corner, I think I would be good.
Barbato (Scranton, PA)
With me also being a Cowboys fan, if they were to draft you what would you bring to that secondary who struggled last year
Jack Williams (2:41 PM)
I think that I could definitely make some plays. Their secondary lacked a playmaker. I think I could make plays. They had trouble playing man. I think I could help them out and make plays. Hopefully learn from the best, the good guys that they have there. Fill in wherever they needed me.
John, Florida
How do you see yourself comparability with other top cb in the draft?
Jack Williams (2:42 PM)
I think there are a lot of corners. I think everyone has a different game they like to play. There are some bigger corners. Some hitting corners. Some cover corners. I like to think I'm both. I'm a little shorter, but in terms of skills and talent, I think I'm there. I'm just lacking in height. But if you look at the game film, you can see that I can compete with the receivers. Hopefully I can show that at the combine.
Nick (Winsted CT)
Is it tough to leave your college team?
Jack Williams (2:43 PM)
It wasn't as hard as I thought it was. A lot of my team was young, so I didn't really know them as long as I knew the senior class before. Those were the guys I came up with. It was tough, but I think it was tougher last year with that senior class leaving me.
Jeff Michigan
How would you feel if Green Bay Took you and you got to play with Al and Charles?
Jack Williams (2:44 PM)
Oh, I would love to play with those guys. They play man to man all the time. They take a lot of criticism because they get beat. But people in football know that playing man to man plays happen. I would love to be on that team.
Barbato (Scranton, PA)
I use to be a football player whonever made it, but if i did i had teams that i did NOT want to play for. Is there any team you would not want to go to or are players just happy to be drafted and in the NFL?
Jack Williams (2:46 PM)
Like I said before, it's a true blessing to be someone who's considered to be drafted. I don't have a team that I wouldn't play for. I would play as hard for a team like the Miami Dolphins as I would for the New England Patriots. It doesn't matter to me.
Jack Williams (2:46 PM)
Well, all I have to say is thanks for the support. Hopefully you'll see me on an NFL team one day.
