Chat with former UCLA LB Bruce Davis

Davis showed his prowess as an outside pass rusher last season when he led UCLA with 12 sacks, which was also good for eighth in the nation. Davis also led the team with 15.5 tackles for loss.
According to Davis's Scouts Inc.'s draft profile, Davis "times his jumps well and gets hands up when isn't going to get to the quarterback. Does an excellent job of slowing tight ends down at the line of scrimmage, has experience lining up at linebacker and has experience dropping into coverage. Wraps up upon contact and is a reliable open field tackler."
Send in your questions now, then join Davis on Friday at 4 p.m. ET!

Buzzmaster (4:27 PM)
We've got Bruce!
Erik Whittier, California
What NFL team did you root for growing up?
Bruce Davis (4:27 PM)
Growing up, I was a Raiders fan and when there was a Oilers fan, I rooted for them.
Brad (Gadsden,Alabama)
Bruce, Who is your fav. nfl player to watch?
Bruce Davis (4:28 PM)
All-time, definitely Lawrence Taylor. His skills, the offenses had to change how they played because of players like him.
Dan (Tampa)
what will you miss about UCLA?
Bruce Davis (4:28 PM)
Just being with my teammates. A lot of the guys that I came in with, we were together for five long, tough years.
Kevin (Virginia)
what's the key to getting to the QB?
Bruce Davis (4:29 PM)
Of course you use speed. I have some talent and some God-given ability. But there are guys that don't have speed that are tenacious. If you have that you can do whatever you want.
Marty (Chesterfield, MI)
Did you watch UCLA in the Final Four? What did you think?
Bruce Davis (4:30 PM)
Oh man! I can't lie, I was a little upset. It just wasn't meant to be this year. Hopefully Love and Collison stays and we have another shot at it. But I can't blame them if they leave.
Jarrod (Waialua, HI)
What is your fondest memory when you were a Bruin?
Bruce Davis (4:31 PM)
My fondest memory is beating USC 13-9 in the Rose Bowl.
Rich (Utah)
What linebacker in the NFL do you compare yourself to?
Bruce Davis (4:31 PM)
Hmmmm. He's kind of a slash - Jason Taylor. He's like me, he does both. He stands up and goes down. I compare myself to him.
Jake (Syracuse)
Bruce, would you prefer playing in a 3-4 or a 4-3 system?
Bruce Davis (4:32 PM)
I don't really have a preference. Both have their strong points. I've played in a 3-point stance and I'm comfortable with that. But if I had to pick one, I'd say a 3-4 OLB.
Colin (New orleans)
Do you care what location you end up in? Would you want to stay in the warmth out west?
Bruce Davis (4:33 PM)
Don't get me wrong, I love this warm, Southern Cal weather (hint, hint, San Diego Chargers), but as long as I get a chance to do what I love, it doesn't matter to me.
Andy (LA)
What advice have you gotten from current players in the NFL regarding the NFL draft?
Bruce Davis (4:34 PM)
The guys that I've talked to the most and gotten close to the most is Shaun Phillips from the Chargers. He told me to go out there and play hard, even if you play a different position, just go out and play as hard as you can. When it comes to workouts, don't settle for less than the best. Just do what you've been doing and go out there and show what you can do. Jamaal Anderson and I have the same agent, we worked out together a bit and he said the same thing. He said go in there and test well and let everything take care of itself.
Steiny (NYC)
If you werena??t a football player what would you be?
Bruce Davis (4:35 PM)
Is there any other occupation besides football? I don't know...just kidding. I'm not camera shy, so maybe broadcaster. I like to think I'm handsome, so maybe a model.
selam melaku (Ohio)
was there any schools u wanted to go to before ucla
Bruce Davis (4:36 PM)
Yeah, my junior year, I was committed to go to Texas. I went out there and fell in love with that place and the staff. But I was a little bit young. Arkansas, I loved it there. Those two were the highest.
Lane (Kukuihaele, HI)
Where are you watching the draft? And with whom?
Bruce Davis (4:37 PM)
What I think I'm going to do is have my family come out here to California. Have my family and friends there and my girlfriend.
Ty Hennessey, Ok
What are you plans the day after you get drafted.
Bruce Davis (4:38 PM)
Oh man, if I haven't just gone complete hysterrical with joy, I'll try to keep is low key. I might go play in a golf tournament in Vegas, but I'll try to enjoy my time with my family and soak it all up.
Paul (Seattle, WA)
What was your most memorable pac-10 game another than USC?
Bruce Davis (4:39 PM)
Probably playing Notre Dame from my junior year. Even though we came on the short end of the stick. We had a chance to play against a great program. Even when you lose a hard fought game like that, you know you gave it your all. That game kind of put me on the national spot light. A lot of the East coast states got a chance to see us out here.
Lee (Tuscumbia, Al)
is there a team you just really don't want to play for?
Bruce Davis (4:40 PM)
Can you ask me that after the draft? If I don't have to play in the snow.....I'll get back to you on the 27th.
OJ (Kansas)
What will you buy with your first paycheck?
Bruce Davis (4:41 PM)
I'd have to say a place to live. Buy a house. A Ferrari would be nice, but I don't need that. Just a car to get from A to B. I'm not materialistic like that.
Brian, LA
Great career at UCLA, Bruce and good luck in the draft. What do you think of the new coaching staff at UCLA? Also, have you heard mostly from teams that run a 3-4 defense?
Bruce Davis (4:42 PM)
I think it's unfortunate that coach was fired. To this day, I kind of take responsibility for that. We came in together and we didn't get it done. Rick Neuheisel's energy is off the charts. He's got a new attitude and he's got the guys ready to play and they're all excited. He's a UCLA guy. I think he'll bring a lot of energy and excitement back to the UCLA program.
Jarrod (Waialua, HI)
What was the weirdest question you got during an interview?
Bruce Davis (4:43 PM)
Ooooh. Hmmm. The weirdest? I don't know. There haven't been too many weird ones. They want to know every aspect of your life. They grill you. They ask you those questions that people don't normally ask. So, I guess, "do you do drugs?" since I don't do drugs.
Bruce Davis (4:44 PM)
Thank you for your support. Thanks for following my career. Whenever I get a chance, I'm going to put on a show for you. Thanks for the support. Expect good things in the future.
