Chat with former Wisconsin WR Paul Hubbard
![]() |
Hubbard redshirted his first year at Wisconsin and in the next three seasons, he played in 27 games and grabbed 39 receptions for 631 yards and five touchdowns.
According to his Scouts Inc.'s draft profile, Hubbard, "who had almost no game experience prior to his breakout season in 2006, is still a work in progress. A track star turned football player, Hubbard's routes need polishing and he must continue to improve his hands. However, his size-to-speed ratio is outstanding and he flashes some game-breaking qualities. With that in mind, Hubbard is flying under the radar but we think he could be worth the risk as a developmental project in the third-to-fourth round range."
Send in your questions now, then join Hubbard on Friday at 12:30 p.m. ET!

Sorry we're late everyone, had some quick technical difficulties!
Paul Hubbard (12:35 PM)
I appreciate you guys for having me on, it's a good thing!
Mark H. (Bowling Green, OH)
What NFL CB do you most look forward to competing against?
Paul Hubbard (12:36 PM)
I'd have to say Al Harris. He's one of the best ones out there, and having a good game against him means I'd probably fare well against other guys in the league.
John (WI)
What is your favorite memory of playing at Wisconsin?
Paul Hubbard (12:37 PM)
I'd have to say scoring that touchdown against Penn State at home in 2006. I think it might have been the only touchdown scored that game.
Jamie (Chicago)
Give me a scouting report. Why should teams draft you?
Paul Hubbard (12:37 PM)
A team should draft me because I'm a guy with tremendously good character, and on the field I'm extremely gifted with a lot of great upside.
Harold (CA)
Who was your favorite player and team growing up?
Paul Hubbard (12:38 PM)
My favorite player would be Terrell Davis, and my favorite team was the Broncos. I used to love that Mile High Salute, and once he hit a hole, he was gone.
Jake (MN)
How have you been training for the draft?
Paul Hubbard (12:39 PM)
I've been training pretty hard, I lift in the morning, catch balls in the afternoon, and in between I get on the jug and catch balls every which way.
Chris (Daytona)
If given a chance to play for whatever team you want..who would it be?
Paul Hubbard (12:40 PM)
I would love to play for any team out there, but I would definitely have to say the Houston Texans.
Nick (Madison, WI)
What will you miss the most about the University of Wisconsin?
Paul Hubbard (12:40 PM)
I'll miss my teammates the most. You're around those guys almost 24/7, and you really create a strong bond with those guys.
James(CT)
How is the whole pre draft experience?
Paul Hubbard (12:41 PM)
It's like a rollecoaster ride. You're anxious, excited, nervous, a little fear because you don't know where you will end up.
Bob (VT)
Where have you heard you'll be drafted? Does it matter to you?
Paul Hubbard (12:42 PM)
It really doesn't matter to me, I try not to listen to that type of stuff. It's easy to be let down, so I'm just going to wait and see what happens.
Joe (MI)
Did you attend the combine? What was that like?
Paul Hubbard (12:43 PM)
I did attend the combine, and it was one of the most hectic but coolest experiences I've had in my life. You're doing something nonstop the whole time you're there. eventually your body gets fatigued even before you get to running, jumping, and catching.
Jeff (Millville, NJ)
Are you looking to go into the NFL mainly as a wideout or is there an oppurtunity for you to do some returning?
Paul Hubbard (12:43 PM)
To be honest, I'd be happy to return. I did some returning in high school and college. I could definitely do that, as I have the speed and the size.
Craig (TX)
Which receiver do you model your game after?
Paul Hubbard (12:44 PM)
At this point, I'd have to say Terrell Owens. He has size, speed, and is very explosive. You'd love to be in the same boat with him.
John (GA)
Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
Paul Hubbard (12:45 PM)
It'd have to be my father. He';s been there for me through everything--ups and downs and everything in between. He's my biggest mentor.
Jeff (WV)
What are your biggest strengths and weaknesses as a player?
Paul Hubbard (12:47 PM)
Strengths would be size, speed, explosiveness, playmaking ability, and intelligence. I could work on my route-running a little, and sometimes I try to turn up the field too early, which leads to uncharacteristic drops.
Paul Hubbard (12:47 PM)
Thanks to everyone who had questions for me, and thanks for having me on ESPN.com!
