Chat with former Kansas St. WR Jordy Nelson

Nelson finished second in the country in both receptions (122) and receiving yards (1,606). His 11 TD catches also ranked 11th in the country. In his senior season, Nelson totaled more receptions and yards than he did in his previous two seasons at Kansas State combined.
According to Nelson's Scouts Inc.'s draft profile, Nelson "capped off a ridiculously productive senior season with a strong showing at the Senior Bowl. While he lacks elite speed and athleticism, Nelson is quicker than people seem to think and he simply knows how to separate and make plays. He will likely slip to the third round of the upcoming draft but it wouldn't shock us if Nelson spends 10-plus productive seasons in the NFL as a possession No. 2 or No. 3 receiver."

We've got Jordy!
Ken (Trenton, NJ)
what about KSU got you ready for the NFL?
Jordy Nelson (1:30 PM)
I think we were a team that works extremely hard in the offseason. It prepares you for the hard times and the hard work that goes into preparing you to play football.
Will (Oregon)
What do you think will be the biggest change you'll have to make in going from college to the NFL?
Jordy Nelson (1:31 PM)
Adapting to a new living style, a new city. And adapting to the all around talent that's on the field. The speed, everything.
Marcus M (Logan, UT)
What team would you like to play for the most?
Jordy Nelson (1:32 PM)
Not really. I really don't have a choice. I'm just hoping to get the name called and make the most of it.
Evan (Phoenix)
You were very productive this past season. What were you most proud of?
Jordy Nelson (1:32 PM)
I'd say winning down in Texas. That was a great win for the team. It was a complete team win. Any time you can win in a place like that, you can be proud.
Gary (Phoenix)
What have you been doing to prepare for the draft?
Jordy Nelson (1:33 PM)
Been working out. I stayed at K-State, worked with our staff. Catching balls, running routes.
Dale (Louisville)
draft plans?
Jordy Nelson (1:34 PM)
I do not know. Probably going to watch the beginning of it, because I'm a sports fan and want to know. But the draft takes too long, so I won't be watching all of it. But I will turn it back on when it's closer to where I'm going to be picked.
James, New York, NY
Do you see yourself playing in a Wes Welker type of role at the next level?
Jordy Nelson (1:34 PM)
I could see myself playing in the slot or outside. I'm willing to play wherever.
keith Elko Nevada
Jordy Did you talk to any Denver scouts while you were at the combine
Jordy Nelson (1:35 PM)
I did. I have talked to a couple of Denver scouts. I know my position coach has talked to them. We have discussed some football.
Mike (Massachusetts)
Is it frustrating seeing a Corner you burned so badly(Aqib Talib) projected so much more higher than you in the draft?
Jordy Nelson (1:36 PM)
It doesn't effect me. He's a great athlete. I think he'll do well. I was able to get him once. But it's a whole other game at the next level.
tim (stl,missouri)
as draft day approaches how nervous are you jordie
Jordy Nelson (1:36 PM)
Not yet. I think next week, they might start to build up. I'm trying to stay calm. But I think next week, they'll start to build up.
chauncey (teaneck)
Where do you think yoy will be drafted?
Jordy Nelson (1:37 PM)
We're looking hopefully second round. The way everyone has been talking, hopefully second round.
Marcus M (Logan, UT)
Would you ever consider arena leauge if your not drafted?
Jordy Nelson (1:38 PM)
I don't know. It's something that would be in the thought process, just to keep playing football. But that's something I hopefully don't have to worry about. But we'll see if that time comes.
Aaron (Florida)
best memory at KSU?
Jordy Nelson (1:38 PM)
Carrying coach Snyder off after his last game. He retired before the season was over, but he won his last game and we carried him off the field.
Anthony (Cleveland)
favorite NFL WR?
Jordy Nelson (1:39 PM)
I like Marvin Harrison. He goes about his business. You don't hear about him. He stays out of the headlines.
Robert (Bristol,Connecticut)
Have you talked to anyone in the Green Bay Packers organization? How serious do some teams seem with you?
Jordy Nelson (1:40 PM)
I haven't talked too much to the Packers. It's hard to tell if the teams are serious. Some will say they hope you're there for them, but you still don't know. Draft day is crazy. One guy can slip. I'm not going to focus too much on what they said and just hope the day goes well.
fran (alabama)
Are you friends with Michael Beasley?
Jordy Nelson (1:41 PM)
I met him, but never really became friends with him. When I met him, I was in the middle of my season and then he was in the middle of his. From what I hear, he's a great guy and a great person.
Anthony (NYC)
Jordy what do you feel is the best part of your game, and do you have to meet with any teams this weekend for interviews?
Jordy Nelson (1:42 PM)
The best part of my game, I think, is my hands. I catch the ball pretty well. I don't have any plans to meet any teams this weekend, but I just got back from meeting with the Redskins.
Kevin (Virginia)
other than football, whats sports do you like?
Jordy Nelson (1:42 PM)
Growing up, I played a lot of basketball. I enjoyed that. As I've gotten older, I've played slow pitch softball in the summers.
Jason, PA
Have you heard from any of the Bucs staff? I think you would fit perfectly in the gulf coast offense. Has anyone ever compared you to Joe Jurevicius?
Jordy Nelson (1:43 PM)
I really haven't heard too much from them. I think at the Senior Bowl I talked to them a little bit, but aside from that, not too much.
