Chat with former Oklahoma DB Marcus Walker
![]() |
Walker played in all 28 games on the Sooners' schedule the last two seasons. He had struggled with injuries during his first two seasons in Oklahoma, playing in just nine games. He was All-Big 12 second team in 2006, after recording three INTs.
According to Walker's Scouts Inc.'s draft profile, Walker "has adequate not great ball skills and flashes big-play ability after an interception. Though doesn't deliver many big hits, is an adequate open field tackler who squares up to the ball carrier and generally wraps up upon contact. Does an adequate job of timing blitz and takes the shortest path to the ball carrier. Has some experience returning kickoffs and can contribute on special teams."
Send in your questions now, then join Walker on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. ET!

We've got Marcus!
Brad (Gadsden,Alabama)
Marcus, What NFL DB do you compare yourself to?
Marcus Walker (2:23 PM)
That's a tough question. I like a lot of the DBs in the NFL. The one I feel I like the most is Champ Bailey. I wouldn't compare myself to him, but I like him the most. I watch him when I watch the NFL.
Aaron (Florida)
Where will you be on draft!
Marcus Walker (2:23 PM)
I'll be at my grandmother's house in Waco, Texas.
James (Louisville)
How frustrating was it for you to start your career with injuries?
Marcus Walker (2:25 PM)
It was frustrating at first. Starting as a freshman and encountering some injuries as a sophomore. But I had some great teammates and great coaches. I can't say enough about them. I bounced back and worked real hard. By the help of God I was able to come back and finish my career real strong.
Dan (North Carolina)
Who's your favorite team?
Marcus Walker (2:25 PM)
Cowboys. I'm an hour away from Dallas. I'm a big Cowboys fan. Watched the Cowboys growing up.
Jason (Chicago)
best OK memory?
Marcus Walker (2:26 PM)
I have a few good memories. As a freshman, being able to start in the national championship game against guys like Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart. Winning the Big 12 championship three out of four years. I have a few good memories. Those are two of the big ones.
Sam (Boston)
what do you make of this year's DB class?
Marcus Walker (2:27 PM)
There is a good chance that a lot of the DBs in this year's draft can be very successful. I worked out with a lot of the guys in Orlando. A lot of the guys are real good. I think a lot of these guys are gifted and talented. I'd look for them to do some good things.
Andrew (Santa Barbara CA)
who were you going for in the super bowl Patriots or giants?
Marcus Walker (2:28 PM)
I plead the fifth. I thought the Patriots were going to win, but with the DEs that the Giants had, I knew they were going to create some problems. I wasn't rooting for any team. The Cowboys weren't playing so it didn't matter too much.
Lisa (TN)
Why did you pick OK?
Marcus Walker (2:30 PM)
It came down to Oklahoma, Florida State and LSU. One of the things I wanted to do in college was to compete for a national championship. I knew with the guys coming back and the guys coming in, we had a chance. I decided to go to Oklahoma and try for a national championship. One of the years we got a chance to make it, we just didn't win it.
Nolan (Miami)
Jake Long Just sign with the miami dolphins do you think it was the right move at number 1?
Marcus Walker (2:31 PM)
Wow. Yeah, everyone's been pretty much saying that there's a chance that he could go No. 1 and he's going to go No. 1. That's not a surprise. It didn't surprise me that it happened.
chauncey (teaneck)
Who is the best player you ever played with?
Marcus Walker (2:31 PM)
Adrian Peterson, hands down.
Fred (Atlanta)
what's better, a big hit or a INT returned for a TD?
Marcus Walker (2:33 PM)
All day long, I take the INT. That hurts the team and the fans. That takes all the momentum they thought they were getting.
Casey (Florida)
will you be the first DB to go in the draft?
Marcus Walker (2:33 PM)
No, it won't be me, unfortunately. If I had to take a wild guess, I would say Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. I would bet he'd go first.
Ken (Trenton, NJ)
favorite sport outside of football?
Marcus Walker (2:34 PM)
Basketball. I love basketball.
Marcus Walker (2:35 PM)
To all the fans in Oklahoma and back in Waco, thanks. Go Sooners! Try and get a national championship this year! OKLAHOMA SOONERS NATIONAL CHAMPIONS!
