Luyendyk is a legendary auto racing driver and twice winner of the Indianapolis 500 in 1990 and 1997. His accolades include 1985 Rookie of the Year, as well as Rookie of the Indianapolis 500, and has been a three-time participant in the International Race of Champions. His son, Arie Luyendyk Jr. is also a competitive auto racing driver.
Luyendyk, a powersports enthusiast, will be in Indianapolis showing off his 2008 Can-Am Spyder roadster. The Spyder is a three-wheel vehicle, with two wheels in the front and one in the rear, that is part motorcycle, part convertible sports car.
