Palmer won 268 games in his career, with an ERA of 2.86. In his 19-year career, he pitched nearly 4,000 innings. Twice in his career, he won 20 or more games in four straight seasons.

Palmer is teaming up with Wendy's to support the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. On June 14 and 15, Wendy's will donate 50 cents for every Frosty product sold to the Foundation. There are more than 510,000 children in the foster care system in the United States, and of them, 129,000 are available for adoption. The average age of a waiting child in the U.S. is nearly nine years old, and they spend an average of five years in the foster care system.
