Tristan H. Cockcroft (10:59 AM)
Good morning everyone! Tough times in fantasy baseball right now, with all these injuries. So let's get right to your questions win you some titled here!
Dan (NJ)
Thoughts on Wainwright? When he's activated is he an upgrade as a closer option over Guardado?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:01 AM)
I think I don't like what the Cardinals are doing with this kid. Make a decision and stick with it, because last I heard, Adam Wainwright will throw 65-70 pitches in his next rehab start, a sign he's having his workload boosted, not kept steady to prepare him for closing. Makes sense, I guess, with Chris Carpenter ailing, but I don't like that they didn't just stick with the guy as a starter all along. I'd take this to mean Wainwright is still going to start, and that Carpenter owners should be worried. That's what I take out of it. So that means I go Eddie Guardado here. He's looking good lately, after all.
suzanne
Who would you rather have for the rest of the season for saves and, to a lesser extent, whip? Chris Perez or Fernando Rodney?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:03 AM)
Well, that ties in a little to the last question, and I admit that I am a Perez fan, he's one of the few closer prospects I actually believe can pan out. (Typically, I don't read much into minor league relief numbers, they translate poorly.) Rodney might have a stronger grip on his team's job, I suppose, but I like the sleeper potential of Perez and think he's a smarter overall package.
Sean (Hoboken)
Is Houston Street worth a waiver claim in a keeper league? He is only 25 after all. Also, thoughts on David Price. Thanks.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:04 AM)
Sure, because I can't see that guy not working his way into some team's closer job for next season, in the worst-case scenario. And most keeper leagues are deep enough that a guy with Street's potential needs to be owned, because he's a lot better than what's out there. As for Price, I've said it all season, I think the greatest impact he'd make this year would be what Joba Chamberlain was to 2007. And I know that's very, very good in terms of real value, but in fantasy, it's limited. Who's he gonna bump from the rotation? The buzz is way too much for a guy whose ultimate breakthrough comes in 2009.
Ron (NYC)
Tristan... Please fill-in the blanks. Scherzer will be called up __ and will have __ starts in September.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:07 AM)
OK, Ron, before I fill in the blanks, I just want to say that with contending teams, you sometimes have to look at what possible role leading into the playoffs makes sense with the top prospect in question (like with the previous Price question). Scherzer is healthy now, but the workload in the minors isn't really up to being a full-fledged starter, and I have to wonder whether this means maybe the D-backs consider grooming him to help out the 'pen in the playoffs? I think that has to be considered a possibility. Going with the gut I fill your blanks with "Sept. 1" and "0," but that's because I think he relieves in the month of September, starts next season. I won't say it's impossible, I just wouldn't plan on it is all.
B (Philly)
Juan Pierre's done as an everyday starter, isn't he? I've been denying it to myself since the Manny trade, but that's sure how it's looking. Is it time to move on? Cut him loose?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:09 AM)
Well, he should be done as an everyday player. He's a great speedster, can bunt, make teams sweat, but I don't think of him as a great everyday type anymore. Maybe he starts for a so-so team, but that contract of his is probably going to keep him in L.A. for a long time (unless they eat the contract). I think you keep the guy for steals, but he's not what he once was. One-dimensional guy, more of use in deeper leagues. Depends on your format, pretty much.
Gary (Boston, MA)
TC, please rank these closers for the rest of the year: Ziegler, Perez, Putz, Fuentes w/ saves being the biggest criterion. Also, thoughts on Maddux for the home stretch?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:11 AM)
Well, if saves are the big thing, you need to go with the closer with the most job security on the best team, bottom line. So I'm going J.J. Putz, Brian Fuentes, Brad Ziegler, Chris Perez. Ziegler, though, does have the capability to leap to the top of that list. There's the upside for it, I'm pretty sure I detailed my take on him in Monday's chat. As for Greg Maddux, good matchups type, I've felt that all year. Ballpark helps him, offense does not. So don't get cozy, though he is what he is.
Jack (Pitt)
Next save chance for the Mets goes to....
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:13 AM)
Well, Jack, you said save chance, and that could mean multiple pitchers! For instance, I've been to two Mets games in the past month where at least two different pitchers were working the ninth with it being a save situation. So I'll go with the guy coming on to start the ninth with a save situation in place. I'm picking ... Eddie Kunz! I think Jerry Manuel is absolutely going to see what he's got in the kid. After all, last time he spoke kindly of one of his candidates, it was of Aaron Heilman, and he was a man of his word, giving him a couple chances there.
Kevin (STL)
Pedro or Carpenter from here on out?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:14 AM)
I'd like to say "yuck" to both because neither are as close to as valuable as the perception, but I'm going to choose Pedro Martinez here, if only because what we know right now is that he is healthier.
Fred (Texas)
What will Cameron Maybin's impact be in 2009? Is he worth picking up in a keeper league? Thanks
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:16 AM)
I think 2009 is absolutely the appropriate time to start getting excited about Maybin, and I'd say yes to the latter question, especially since I just dealt this guy for parts to help my run at the title in my keeper league. Absolutely a keeper candidate if the format is deep enough. What do I expect? Hmmm, worst case he's what Adam Jones was this year. I bet batting average is the risky category for him. Best case? Hmmm, now that's a toughie. Ceiling's maybe a "lite" version of Alex Rios, thinking the average is lower? Something like that. Like a 20/20 type who bats .250-.260ish. Kind of what Mike Cameron has been the past half-decade.
Sean - Johnstown, PA
Any news on the Lincecum injury, it's crunch time and he has been solid all year.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:17 AM)
Well, Sean, I do remember reading this morning that he was walking around on the knee a-OK after the game last night, and that's an encouraging thing to hear. Maybe he's iffy for his next start, but I'd say he's better than 50/50 to make it, and even if he doesn't, it's a one-and-done sit. Of course, Evan Longoria looked like he was going to dodge the DL and didn't, and it's not like I'm a doctor, so I can't make you any guarantees. But I wouldn't panic, it didn't sound all that bad.
Jay (FL)
Who gets me more production for the stretch run? Ziegler or Byrd
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:18 AM)
Well, Jay, that depends on which Byrd you're talking about, Paul or Marlon. I'd rather have Marlon! And I'd rather have Brad Ziegler than both.
Jasper (FL)
How could Clay Buch dominate in the minors and then tank in the majors like he has? Are the Red Sox going to keep giving him opportunities to win or does Bryd signal Clay's demise?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:20 AM)
I don't think people understand just how difficult it is for a pitcher to make the jump from Triple-A ball to the majors. It is so much harder than people think it is, and really, we've been spoiled by the Tim Lincecums and Yovani Gallardos of the world the past year-plus, who came right up and dominated. That shows how special pitchers they are. But for every one of those there's a guy who struggles, and that's all I think Clay Buchholz is. I'm nowhere near as down on him as I am Homer Bailey. I think with time, and patience, he'll be fine. And as for how that plays out this year, well, the Red Sox are fighting for a playoff spot, so they can't afford to be patient. I'd say Paul Byrd's arrival does signal his demise, but then they might need Buchholz again on Sunday because Charlie Zink was awful last night. Didn't give them length. For fantasy, Buchholz is keeper-worthy, not this-year valuable. Bottom line.
Aaron (Houston, Tx)
I just picked up Adrian Beltre from the wire and dropped Tatis, was that a good idea? Crede is also available?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:21 AM)
I think the problem with a move like that is you get the better player over the long haul, but you dish off the short-term lightning in a bottle that so often proves more valuable. Situations like this were designed to have both in leagues where your bench is deep enough. If it's not, then yes, I usually want the long-term guy, so it's not a bad move.
Jonas (Ft. Griffith)
Better finish to this season, Haren or Kazmir?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:22 AM)
Dan Haren. Just a less volatile pitcher.
Jeremy (Bloomington, IN)
Picking a World Series Champ...I'll give you the Angels and the Cubs, and I get the field....would you take that bet?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:23 AM)
Ehhhh, Jeremy, I suppose I would because you're giving me the favorites in most people's minds, but I know how short series work this decade, you're at least 50/50 on that one. And you know what? I actually have a bigger problem with you giving me the Cubs than the Angels, I'd take the Angels in a heartbeat. That's a good, good team. But I'd ask you if I could have the Arizona Diamondbacks in the NL, to be honest. Short series with that pitching staff, that is going to be tough to beat.
Eric(Indy)
Are the Cubbies going to try to turn Smardidja into an SP or keep him as a reliable RP next season?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:24 AM)
Interesting thing to watch this winter, but I have to think because they have Kerry Wood and Carlos Marmol doing nicely back there, they see Jeff Samardzija as a starter long term. This might be a Roy Oswalt-esque way to break him in at this level.
Steve (Toronto)
Are you starting Maine tonight?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:24 AM)
Yup. Nationals, period. Though I admit I'm also a very big John Maine fan.
Andrew (Madison)
...and the Brewers don't have the dangerous starters for a short series?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:26 AM)
You know Andrew, the thought absolutely crossed my mind. It was the very next team I thought of, and I think the only reason I'd favor Arizona by a tad is that they have a little more experience with the playoffs. A little. Understand I am not knocking your boys, that National League playoffs could be quite an intriguing one. Let's just hope this isn't another case where all but two of the series are sweeps!
Joe (Cali)
Really appreciate your advice. Spot starts for today, yea or nay.... Maholm at home vs. Cincy, Maine in Washington and Buehrle at home vs. KC. Thanks Tristan.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:27 AM)
You know, Joe, I'm going to say yay, yay, nay. Paul Maholm is too hot to sit, and I think the Reds take an offensive hit without Adam Dunn around. I tackled John Maine's question already, and Mark Buehrle, it's that if memory serves, he got tattooed by that very team recently.
Paul (Minny)
Joe - Read before on Maine...What about Nolasco?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:28 AM)
Yay. Too hot to sit, and it's a home game. That said, I don't call him (or the other "yay" picks) extraordinary options. They're all good, but you know, this time of year, people have innings/start caps. I could see Nolasco being too risky to gamble if you're facing that crunch.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:28 AM)
By the way, note the word "extraordinary." Meaning I'm just saying you don't expect like complete-game shutouts here.
Merlin (NYC)
Should I start Jeff Francis tonight against a medicore D-BACKS offense.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:29 AM)
I'm a little hesitant with pitchers facing the Diamondbacks right now, with them bolstering their lineup with Adam Dunn and looking a little more lively lately. Plus, Francis hasn't shown me enough since his return from the DL. Very disappointing, his season.
Alec (Boston)
Slowey this afternoon?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:30 AM)
Certainly, but I like Kevin Slowey a lot, I admit. Similar things I said about Nolasco apply to him. Good, but there's the cap concern.
Adam (San Diego, CA)
And how about Anthony Reyes vs. Baltimore? (He strikes me as a great "change of scenery will do him wonders" candidate).
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:31 AM)
I agree with you Adam, but my agreement is centered more around the overall, long-term package than this one-start matchup. Not that I think it's a bad one, he's AL-only worthy, but when I speak kindly of Reyes, it's with respect to him being an overall sleeper the rest of the way.
Sam (Chicago)
Just to defend Buehrle a bit, his last outing vs. Boston was great and he has pitched better at home. That KC game was on the road.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:32 AM)
Well there you go. But to be fair, you just pointed out the kind of inconsistency that is truly maddening in fantasy baseball. Hammered by the bad team, dominate the good one. That always makes me hesitant. My opinion goes unchanged.
Dave (DC)
Is Chase Headley worth a flier? He looks like he's heating up.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:33 AM)
I'd say you're a few weeks behind the curve, Dave, but you know, if your league mates have left the kid out there, by all means scoop him up! I'm impressed by what I see from a kid this young.
Erik (Chicago via Nebraska)
Is there any way to guess which Javier Vazquez will be seen on a given night?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:34 AM)
May I recommend writing each digit from 0 to 9 on scraps of paper, tossing 'em into a hat and then drawing one for his innings total, put it back, then draw one for his earned runs? Seriously, I agree with you Erik. Another maddeningly inconsistent guy. It amazes me that John Danks, one of the youngest fellas on the team, is more consistent!
PJ Athens, OH
Need MI pick up to replace my departed Jeter (got Texi back) - who's better IYO - Sanchez, Bartlett, Izturis, or ? - Need Ave, SB, Run help. Thanks!
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:35 AM)
Derek Jeter is supposed to play today, so others know. Great, great haul for him, by the way. That's a steal. I'd probably go Jason Bartlett of that bunch, knowing your needs.
Brad (Cleveland, OH)
Do you beleive in Cliff Lee to be a valuable contributor til the very end? His K rate is dropping.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:36 AM)
Yes. Some people just have it in a given season. Don't know what else to tell you, but that guy has done wonders to straighten himself out. I've got nothing to knock him with.
Derrick (FL)
Hey Tristan...your thoughts on Kershaw from here on out? Should I drop Weaver for him? I'm 14 over on innings and kind of like that he doesn't go that deep into games.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:38 AM)
Makes sense, Derrick. The Dodgers are going to keep a close watch on his workload, and I think you're going to get a heck of a lot more K potential from Clayton Kershaw than you do Jered Weaver. And when I'm in an innings bind, I want to maximize my win/K potential with the remaining frames I have.
jeffreys
who should be my starting shortstop, mike aviles or troy tulowitski?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:39 AM)
For as much as I admire what Aviles has done, Tulowitzki has a higher ceiling and is hitting extremely well since his return from the DL. It's the Rockie, though I will not rave about him. Simply will not.
Nick (Tampa)
FOOTBALL!!! Tristan, who are your top 10 RB's in order please?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:40 AM)
Baseball chat or not, I'll be nice, because it's quick and easy: LT, ADP, Westbrook, S-Jack, Addai, Gore, Lynch, Portis, Barber, Grant.
Brad(Cumberland,RI)
Does Ryan Ludwick have any keeper value or is this season potentially make him a 1 year wonder type of guy?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:41 AM)
Depends on the league, Brad. He's a bit older a breakthrough type and therefore doesn't have a lot of room to move up from here. But what he's doing, of course, is very good. I took some flak for keeping him out of my top 100 keepers, but he wouldn't miss by all that much. And in a league with, say, 12 teams, 10 keepers a team, he's right on the fringe. Depends what you've got!
Fernando (Pembroke Pines)
Hey Tristan, F. Hernandez a lock against Angels and E. Santana?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:42 AM)
No, but I'd start him anyway. Should be a pitchers' duel.
Joker
Why..So..Serious? I can only keep 3 of these bats for up to three years. Phillips, Kemp, Quentin, Ichiro, Markakis, who you got?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:42 AM)
Great movie. Great. Gotta say. I'd keep Nick Markakis, love that guy, Brandon Phillips, an all-around stud at a weak position, and Matt Kemp, whom I think is a solid five-round standout for years.
Andrew (Madison)
How huge would it be for the Brewers to get Gallardo back to anchor down that bullpen?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:43 AM)
Frankly, Andrew, I think that's a terrible idea. Don't mess with a kid like this, forcing him back into a role in which he's unfamiliar! Either get him back to contribute as a starter for the playoffs, or else wait until next year. Your pitching is pretty decent as it is.
Jon (Tulsa, OK)
I have both R. Perez and Lewis currently. Do I drop one for Rodney?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:45 AM)
If saves are your object I think you kind of have to let Rafael Perez go for Fernando Rodney, if only because it's looking pretty clear that the Indians only want to see Perez as a setup/situational man.
Joe (Baltimore)
Francouer just dropped in a keeper. Worth #1 waiver claim?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:45 AM)
I traded him to a Braves fan a month or so ago in my keeper league, and, um, sorry to that dude (if he's reading). So, uh, no.
Brian (Boston)
Tristan, with the D'backs having 4 regulers OFs and losing the O-Dog for the year, do you think Justin Upton could play some 2B? Do you think he will?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:46 AM)
If the D-backs are going to get creative with their position shuffling, it'll be Mark Reynolds getting the looks at second base, not Justin Upton. (Chad Tracy to third, Conor Jackson to first, in that instance.) And I think this is actually a bit more important a development to track than it might seem. Wouldn't shock me at all if Arizona tries it. This team does need to take some chances injecting more life into the offense.
Jared, Annapolis
Help me here, better long term keeper, Jay Bruce or Justin Upton? Appreciate the work.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:47 AM)
I am still all over Justin Upton. He's my boy in a dynasty format.
Dan (Michigan)
Joba pitch again this year? C Perez over Sherill?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:48 AM)
I think he will, yes, because the Yankees are that desperate and the reports aren't awful. One even mild setback, or a slump that makes it almost impossible for the Yankees to make the playoffs, though, and I think Joba Chamberlain is done for 2008. These guys need to be smart, not push him. As for the closers, no, I'd still prefer George Sherrill.
Todd (MPLS)
THC - please rank these deep AL only MI for rest of this year... Ellis, Bartlett, Punto, Erik Aybar. Thanks.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:48 AM)
Rest of this year? Jeez, I'd probably want to look at the schedules, but off the top of my head, I'd likely go Mark Ellis, Erick Aybar, Jason Bartlett, Nick Punto...
Dave (DC)
Tristan- One more, please?Need a replacement for McLouth (traded him for Papelbon). Who offers best replacement value: Milledge, Cameron, or Victorino? Thanks!
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:49 AM)
Shane Victorino! Nice little hot streak of late.
Ralph (NYC)
We're trying to finalize our keeper league rules and we have a question. What is the best way to handle players picked up during the season? Would they count as a last round pick or should we assign them some other value (say round 10 or so)? The thought of being able to pick up someone like Braun for a last round pick would make the #1 waiver priority extremely valuable and we're not sure if thats the best way. Thanks!
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:52 AM)
Ralph, point No. 1 is never, ever set rules during a season. Team and player circumstances can create bias that will lead into a rule that's terribly unfair. Don't do it, it creates arguments. If you're talking for the long haul, and yours is a draft-based league, I'd either recommend all pickups are something like that, say, a 10th-rounder (and if you keep more than one, go in increasing order from there), or else you make pickups ineligible to be kept. In my keeper league we're a sort of salary-based format, and what happens with pickups is that they're more costly to keep than if they had been drafted, because I think you need to reward people for being smart enough to unearth the cheap guys and stick by them all year, instead of grabbing lightning in a bottle off the waiver wire.
Alex (nyc)
Who is best keeper Chris Perez, Broxton, or Zumaya?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:52 AM)
Jonathan Broxton.
Eric (NJ)
Start Guthrie tonight? You have talked about nearly every starter except for him.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:52 AM)
Yes I have. And he gets a great big "yay" from me.
Chet (Philly)
Looking at Starting Pitching. How would you rank these guys through the rest of the year? Bedard, Carpenter, Wainwright, Carmona, and Oliver Perez.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:53 AM)
Sheesh, what a mess. Values could change so much, and so quickly. Today, I'd go Oliver Perez (who I really am not that much of a fan of, to be honest), Fausto Carmona, Adam Wainwright, Chris Carpenter, Erik Bedard.
Rick Ankiel (Pitcher Hitter)
Any chance reds traded for Micah Owings with designs on converting him ala ANkiel and getting his bat in their lineup. Not like he's a great upside pitcher.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:54 AM)
That's a hell of an idea! Sorry, just had to quote "Major League" for a second. Seriously, though, I could see it, but more in the long haul and only if Micah Owings can't reach his ceiling as a mid-rotation starter. We can check back on this in a couple years, pretty much, but I have a feeling he's a favorite to be the team's No. 4 (or so) starter next Opening Day.
Ross (DC)
Please rank these keepers: Kershaw, Price, Hughes
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:55 AM)
Ranking prospect pitchers is so tough because of the time frames involved. But I'm going overall package, and let's assume three-year value here. I'll go David Price, Clayton Kershaw, Phil Hughes.
Jordan (Toronto)
Hanrahan or Ziegler?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:56 AM)
Brad Ziegler. Better pure pitcher (right now) and on no worse a team. (I'd argue better, in fact.)
B (Philly)
Tristan, you'd seriously rather have Sherrill over Perez? Even though he's already thrown more than he ever has in a single season and his number since the ASB are horrifying (ERA: 7+, WHIP: almost 2, BAA: over .320)?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:57 AM)
I knew that would come up, B, but in the saves market I'm forced to assume it's the saves you want, and in that event I need to go with the guy with the clearer path to the closer's role. Not that I'm knocking Chris Perez. This is closer than you think. But until I could be assured he'll be St. Louis' man the rest of the year, I can't endorse him over Sherrill. This will need close monitoring, but today, that's my call.
pete (mound, mn)
Would you rather start a mediocre pitcher with 2 starts or a stud for 1 in a week? no WHIP in my league
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:58 AM)
So what is it then, wins, K's and ERA? Then I'd be more apt to go two-start pitcher in almost every circumstance! Odd format.
Jared (Philly)
Tristan, I got a football question for you. How do you feel about Steven jackson? I read eariler today that talks between STL FO and Jackson has resumed during the past 2 days. Have you heard of any progress in regards to this situation?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (11:58 AM)
Shameless plug time, read my 32 Questions piece on the Rams. That tells exactly how I feel about Steven Jackson this year.
NL only question for once please!
Geez, come on, Tristan, you take questions with the same players in every question!!! Deep NL only, to replace Lee, can you give me some guys?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (12:00 PM)
Again, will be covered in one of my columns coming out today (Hit Parade), but suffice to say, you can't replace Carlos Lee off the waiver wire. You can try, but won't happen. He's too good. And a guy who wasn't in the column I was tempted to put in as a recommended add: Jody Gerut. Hitting decently of late. Ride them hot streaks!
mike (nyc)
How much will Victorino's back injury hurt his production? I need those SBs!!
Tristan H. Cockcroft (12:00 PM)
I don't think of back problems as a hindrance to stolen base totals, they're more of an issue with a player's hitting for power. But last I heard that was day-to-day. I can't worry yet.
Tim
Tristan, is Petit or Litsche a good grab off the waiver for the rest of the year? I need one more decent starter.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (12:01 PM)
I'd roll the dice on Yusmeiro Petit. He's done this before, had a nice little hot streak (though he does tend to cool off). Just keep active on that waiver wire, that's all.
Joe (boston)
Whats your opinion on the 100 pitch count limit? Is it overrated?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (12:02 PM)
Totally overrated. But then I subscribe more to the idea of ramping pitchers up and down with their pitch counts than just applying a number to each. I bet some are more apt to make it to 125 without any problem, others need it at 100. And you can't very well have a stretch like 85-125-115-75, etc., I think.
Johnny (Ohio)
Should I pick up Marlyn Byrd from free agency? He is on a role.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (12:02 PM)
Yes.
Carl Pavano (NY)
How big of a sleeper am I?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (12:03 PM)
I don't know, just how comfortable is your bed? Keep on sleepin'...
Lord Davis (Covent Garden)
Where oh where is this Rams piece you speaketh of?
Tristan H. Cockcroft (12:03 PM)
Coming soon, don't you worry!
Bob (DC)
What do you think about having a cap on the number of transactions you can have in a year? I'm new to the league and that seems odd to me.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (12:04 PM)
I have never, ever liked this idea. Now, granted, I've seen some leagues without them where one team goes nuts on the waiver wire (we have a price system that kicks in if you reach a certain level in my league), but I'd much rather just have that than have to be conservative with my pickups. My feeling has always been if you have a problem with streaming starters or constantly adding players, deepen the league, which eats up more of the player pool.
Tristan H. Cockcroft (12:05 PM)
