Chat with Cent. Michigan QB Dan LeFevour

LeFevour stormed through 2007 when he became just the second quarterback to ever throw for more than 3,000 yards and rush for more than 1,000 yards. He had 3,652 passing yards and 1,122 yards on the ground, while leading the team to an 8-6 record.
Just a junior, LeFevour has already set several school career and single season records, while also ranking seventh in his career in rushing TDs. He is also the first quarterback to lead his team to MAC titles in both his freshman and sophomore years.
Send in your questions now and join LeFevour at noon ET on Friday!

Dan will be here at the top of the hour! Keep sending in your questions!
Dan LeFevour (12:03 PM)
Thanks to everyone who has supported the Chips the last few season. We are looking forward to future success and you being behind us.
Rebecca (Owosso, MI)
Hi Dan, is it hard for you to stay focused when so many media people are talking about you being the next great MAC QB to the NFL?
Dan LeFevour (12:04 PM)
No, just because in season there are so many responsibilities with school and being on the field. There are so many other things to worry about that you cannot really get caught up in media things.
David (Athens, GA)
I must say I'm looking forward to watching you play in Athens. Have you started thinking about that game yet?
Dan LeFevour (12:06 PM)
Well not too much, because we have a tough opponent in E. Illinois coming up. We have obviously thought about all our opponents, but we have to focus on the game in front of us. When Gerogia is in front of us we will be focused on them 110%.
chauncey (teaneck)
Do you ever get tired of being compared to Big Ben?
Dan LeFevour (12:07 PM)
Well he is a guy who has been in the NFL and has accomplished so much, so to be compared to him is a little unfair, since I have not accomplished the things that he has. So that comparison is something I do not think I deserve since I have not even been there yet.
Sean (Ann Arbor, MI)
Hey Dan, what will be the biggest key to the Chips winning a third MAC title in a row? Fire Up Chips!
Dan LeFevour (12:09 PM)
Good question. We know teams will give us their best shot coming off a title, they did it last year, and now it will be two-fold coming off our secong title in a row. The key this year will be bringing our best football every week. If we take a week off it can really come off and hurt us. This is not the NFL where you can get hot late and make the playoffs. We really have to focus on every MAC game.
Brian (Gurnee, Illinois)
You have a number of young offensive lineman(Miller/Maddux) - are you concerned about their lack of experience especially Miller who essentially is the O-Line leader at Center?
Dan LeFevour (12:10 PM)
Not at all. He is a returning starter and played every game last year. Four of our five guys are returning and so I think that is one of our most experienced units on the team.
Kevin Drescher (Shepherd, Mi)
Dan what are the strengths of this years team compared to last years? Do you think it is realistic for your Central Michigan Team to make the TOP 25 this year?
Dan LeFevour (12:12 PM)
I think coming off of two MAC titles it will be a very competitive year in our conference and I think everyone's goal in the MAC is to be a top 25 program. We are much stronger on this year on defense, and have much more experience this time around, especially coming off two MAC titles.
Paul (Muncie, IN)
You don't appear to be very fast on TV, however when you're flying by the entire defense, it makes me believe you have deceptive speed, how fast is your 40-yard dash?
Dan LeFevour (12:13 PM)
You know what, if I had to guess, probably in the mid 4.7s.
GFR, CMU '81, Caro, MI
How is preparing for Eastern Illinois, a FCS team, different than a MAC or BCS team? Go Chips!!
Dan LeFevour (12:14 PM)
It is exactly the same. They are an excellent, top 25 team, in the FCS. We will not treat this game differently than any other game we go into this season.
Nick (Mount Pleasant, MI)
Hey Dan, you were in my Communication class. Being an All-MAC academic the past few years, how challenging is it to get those honors with the football schedule?
Dan LeFevour (12:16 PM)
Well you need to learn to budget your time, but once you get the hang of it, it is something you can manage to do.
Brandon Bloomfield Hills Michigan
Who's the biggest threat to CMU's three peat for a MAC championship?
Dan LeFevour (12:17 PM)
Great question. If you look across the board there are a lot of great teams with a lot of retuning players. You cannot say there is one team, and every week will be a battle.
Dan LeFevour (12:18 PM)
I appreciate all the questions and the interest. I look forward to you watching us this season. Fire Up Chips!
