Tim Graham (4:03 PM)
OK guys. I'm here. Sorry I'm late but I had to write about Pro Bowl LT Jason Peters returning to the Buffalo Bills. Yes, it's true. He'll report tomorrow.
Bill (Rochester, NY)
There was a report today that Jason Peters was reporting back to the Bills today. Do you have any new information about that?
Tim Graham (4:04 PM)
Information is a little sketchy right now, but I've been told on good authority he will report Saturday, won't play in the season opener and doesn't have a new contract -- yet.
Tim Graham (4:06 PM)
OK, pretty much every question is what I know about Jason Peters because of the timing of when that all went down. I'm going to let a few more questions come in.
Tatum Bell (hiding out)
Hey Tim, I got this Rolex here. I uh, found it on the floor. You interested?
Tim Graham (4:08 PM)
I am interested, but let's not do this in front of everybody else.
John(Buffalo)
What do you think the real reason the Bills put Angelo Crowell on IR? Is it to free up money to lock up Jason Peters? Or more money to get the Lee Evans deal done? Or both?
Tim Graham (4:10 PM)
I've been told today's development with Peters has nothing to do with what happened with Crowell yesterday. Peters merely decided it was time to show up. In other words, he couldn't stomach the thought of forfeiting a $191,000 game check every week.
Lou(Buffalo NY)
Whats up with the Bills putting Crowell on IR when the scoping procedure is a 4 to 6 week heal time?
Tim Graham (4:11 PM)
I think the Crowell and Peters situations are linked there ... I get the strong sense the Bills front office was tired of their players dictating the team's fate.
Jake (Boston, MA)
Thoughts on Eli Manning's "escape" in Super Bowl XLII. I know I speak for everyone in New England when I say that nearly every defender on the line was being held by The Gaints O-Line. giantscheated.com
Tim Graham (4:12 PM)
I have put in a call to Roger Goodell on that, and he assures me the NFL will overturn the Super Bowl result. Seriously, get over it.
Ryan (Astoria, NY)
Tim, do you think that James Hardy can develop into the #2 receiver that the Bills desperately need?
Tim Graham (4:13 PM)
Looks like the bills fans are coming to ESPN.com in droves this afternoon. I wonder why that is ... I like Hardy a lot, mostly because of his size (6-foot-6). That's something Trent Edwards hasn't had in his targets. The Bills' top three WRs last year were 5-10 or shorter.
Majeed
Pretty hypocritical for a Pats fan to call another team cheaters!
Scott (Boston)
Who do you think the Pats play in the fourth quarter- Cassell or O'Connell?
Tim Graham (4:15 PM)
Good one. I think they can afford to start Cassel on Sunday against the Chiefs. Whoa. What am I saying? Start O'Connel to be safe.
MJ (Boston)
Tim - Jets over under wins 9? Don't get swept up with Favre mania, he's going to throw 25 picks easy
Tim Graham (4:16 PM)
I think that total is dead on. I can see either way, which is the sign of a good number. But I think the Jets are a playoff team, so I'll have to say over.
JERRY (orlando fla)
HOW FAR DO YOU THINK THE STEELERS WILL GO?
Tim Graham (4:17 PM)
My preseason prediction is that the Browns will win the AFC North. Because that division has such a tough schedule, I don't think two AFC North teams make the playoffs.
Mike(Canada)
Why can't Jason Peters start on Sunday? His job is only to block! And we know he is really good at it.
Tim Graham (4:18 PM)
A couple of his teammates told me a week ago they were concerned he might not be able to contribute because of the intricacies of new offensive coordinator Turk Schonert's system. Throughout camp, the offense struggled on install days.
Keegan (Boise, ID)
Do the Cowboys win a playoff game this year?
Tim Graham (4:18 PM)
Yes. Wade Phillips finally wins one.
Frank (Philly)
When can we start the "Days Until Jim Zorn Gets Fired" office pool? Did he do anything to neutralize the New York blitz? Has he heard of the screen pass? I have Portis on my fantasy team, but I am clearly not bitter or anything.
Tim Graham (4:19 PM)
Get that pool started now. And I'll take Dec. 30.
Tom Brady
Will my ankle hold for an entire season including the playoffs? Giselle's been massaging it, I hope it helps.
Tim Graham (4:20 PM)
No, you idiot! You don't massage that. You alternate with a heating pad and ice pack.
MJ (Boston)
Keegan - how dare you ask that question!!!
Ben (louisville ky)
over or under Ricky Williams 1,500 yards
Tim Graham (4:21 PM)
Under. But at the end of the year I think we'll look back and be very impressed (barring injury).
Elliott: Denver
Tim, do you think that the Jets aquisition of Brett Farve is the determining factor of keeping the Bills out of the playoffs?
Tim Graham (4:23 PM)
For me, it was Jason Peters' holdout. I had the Bills going to the playoffs all summer, but the longer the Peters saga dragged on, the less convinced I was.
Bridget Moynahan
Tim, with all due respect Tom has never been the brightest guy
Tim Graham (4:23 PM)
You're just jaded.
Jake (Boston, MA)
A serious question now. Do you think that Lawrence Maroney will be a threat to opposing teams this year?
Tim Graham (4:24 PM)
Yes, I do. But I also think the LaMont Jordan acquisition will be felt before the season is out, too. The Patriots' running game will be a major factor.
Bob (Buffalo)
Do you think the Bills will attempt to trade or re-sign JP Losman by season's end?
Tim Graham (4:25 PM)
I don't. The Bills think they're a playoff team, and to get there you often need two capable QBs.
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
Any chance that Chris Johnson pulls in ROTY this year?
Tim Graham (4:26 PM)
Even the non-Bills questions are from Upstate NY ... I like Johnson quite a bit. I went with Bears RB Matt Forte as my ROY pick, but Johnson absolutely can do it.
Randy (columbus, OH)
Maroney is not a threat to anyone. He is a mediocre back. He is no Marion Barber
Tim Graham (4:27 PM)
So if you're not Barber opponents don't need to game plan stop you?
Steven Tyler (Aerosmith)
Jaded? I wrote that song. Great stuff!
Tim Graham (4:27 PM)
I disagree. Not one of your best, Steve.
Andrew Soler
do you think jason peters can regain his pro bowl form even though he hasnt been at any team activities
Tim Graham (4:28 PM)
I think he'll look like a Pro Bowler by the end of the season, but how quickly he approaches that level is what's critical to Buffalo's playoff hopes.
chauncey (teaneck)
Will jAson Cambell ever get it together?
Tim Graham (4:28 PM)
I don't see the fascination.
Mikey(Lackawanna,NY)
What are your thoughts on Jason Peters playing on Sunday? Will he or Wont he?
Tim Graham (4:28 PM)
Will not.
Kev (NYC)
Rank these TEs: Watson, Cooley, Daniels...Thanks
Tim Graham (4:29 PM)
Smells like a fantasy question ... Although Cooley played last night ... Cooley, Daniels, Watson. Just can't trust Watson's health, or he'd be No. 1 given his offense.
karmajaxx , towson,md.
My life is huge sunday. This is my dilemia. Brett vs chad, santana vs hamels. The delemia is, do i maintain a nice even flow of cocktails thru out the day and maintain till the 8pm mets phillies. Or do i start doing shots at 12 30 in antisipation of the nfl opener and potentially get black out for the met phillies . I guess i could take a nap in between. what is your call.
Tim Graham (4:31 PM)
Get started early and save the shots for somewhere around the third inning. That I have a strong opinion on this should be of concern to my family.
Tim Graham (4:31 PM)
I'm in a fantasy boozehound league.
Mike (Ohio)
I think you should recommend that karmajaxx go back to school and this time to take it seriously.
Will (Philadelphia)
How badly will the Cowboys crush the Browns?
Tim Graham (4:32 PM)
I don't have a prediction on that one, but I do think it will be the best game of the week, not Jets-Dolphins.
Scott (Boston)
Lotsa talk about Lamont Jordan- what happened to Sammy Morris? He was more valuable than Maroney last year before he got hurt.
Tim Graham (4:33 PM)
Morris will be a factor, too. I just mentioned Maroney because he's new to the offense.
CP(ELIZABETH,NJ)
Does Tim Hightower get any serious playing time for the Arizona Cardinals?
Tim Graham (4:34 PM)
Any time your starting RB is 31 years old (Edgerrin James), your backup will get carries. He'll play and get some important carries.
Kev (NYC)
How possible is J Tuck for DPOY?
Tim Graham (4:35 PM)
Very possible. The fact Umenyiora went down and Strahan has retired focuses that much more attention on the Giants' D- line. If he keeps playing like he did last night, everybody will notice.
Keegan (Boise, ID)
Felix Jones.... over or under 10 TDs? 800 Yds?
Tim Graham (4:35 PM)
under, under but Cowboys fans will be begging to see him more and more.
Tim Graham (not really)
I'm so depressed and lonely
Tim Graham (4:35 PM)
Sadly, this guy's right.
Tim Graham (4:36 PM)
But what's truly sad is impersonating a blogger.
Bill (York, PA)
Jets-Patriots? Hey Tim --- they don't play this week ;)
Tim Graham (4:38 PM)
Jets-Dolphins ... I'm fried. I just got done booking my travel for my first three games this year: Jets-Dolphins Patriots-Jets Dolphins-Patriots
Annoyed anonymous
Why do you post mostly stupid comments from people? I thought we were talking football?
Tim Graham (4:38 PM)
That's an astute non-football comment.
Jon (NYC)
So what are your drinks of choice for cocktails, beer, and shots?
Tim Graham (4:40 PM)
I'm not sure what ESPN policy is about that kind of stuff, so I'll refrain ... But there's a basketball player with the first name Antwan ...
John (Miami)
is this going to be the year that ted ginn jr breaks out?
Tim Graham (4:42 PM)
Maybe not as a receiver, but I think he'll have a big year as a returnman. The Dolphins brought in a bunch of special-teams players who should spring him ... Keep in mind, he did plenty almost by himself last year as a rookie.
Jeff (Boston, ma)
any expectations as to which of the other patriot rookie linebackers (crable and guyton) will have their presence felt this year?
Tim Graham (4:44 PM)
That's tough to say, but there is a great story about Gary Guyton in today's Boston Herald. He was a beast at the NFL scouting combine and still didn't get drafted. Now the Patriots have him ...
Tim Graham Jr. (USA)
Daddy, who do u think is gonna be the best rookie RB this year?
Tim Graham (4:45 PM)
See, now I know this is fraudulent. If there are any Tim Graham Jr's out there I'm unaware of, they're not in North America.
Nick (Bills, NY)
post my comment...go bills... your thoughts?
Tim Graham (4:46 PM)
Nick submitted this comment about a dozen times. What I think is you're a very insightful young lad.
Brody: (Cleveland - OH)
Tim, I'm trying to kill 15 more minutes so I'm just reading this chat (Steelers fan, don't care about the AFC North...hate it actually), but the fact that you love Jameson and tell people to shut up and get bent is probably going to make me read you more...well done, sir, well done
Tim Graham (4:47 PM)
Shhhhhh ...
Joe (MIA FLA)
Aaron Rodgers GB??? next kille Boller??
Tim Graham (4:47 PM)
I think Rodgers will do very well this year. He better.
Majeed
Can the Fins beat the Jets or not? Please explain!
Tim Graham (4:49 PM)
I predicted a Dolphins victory in my AFC East Week 1 preview (on the NFL Nation blog).
Erik (Pompton Lakes, NJ)
Tim, heard that you said that the bills were shopping John McCargo. Any idea who they may have talked to and what they might be looking for?
Tim Graham (4:50 PM)
I do know who they've talked to, but I would be outing my sources if I told you. So I can't do that. But I will say interest has been lukewarm from what I understand. I don't know what the Bills are looking for in return.
Samuel (yorba linda, CA)
I say Ronnie Brown will start for the Dolphins by week 6. I am not saying Ricky will do bad. Ronnie from last year returns.
Tim Graham (4:51 PM)
Ronnie might start Sunday.
Tim Graham (4:52 PM)
Hey guys, all the different ways you're using my name as if you're posting as me are hilarious. They really are. But you're questions aren't going to get posted. So don't waste your time.
dan (pa)
how go is the steeler
Tim Graham (4:52 PM)
I like your delivery ... I think they finish second in the AFC North and miss out on the playoffs because they're record won't be good enough for a Wild Card (tough schedule).
The Artist formerly known as Prince
The athlete formerly known as Pacman or the athlete formerly known as Chad Johnson?
Tim Graham (4:53 PM)
In a street fight? Pacman. On the football field? Cinco.
RJ (New York, NY)
Is Paul Posluszny the real deal?
Tim Graham (4:53 PM)
Yes, he is.
Tim McGee
In 2100, when florida is underwater, and the NFL has transformed into the World Football League, will the dolphins relocate to Cuba?
Tim Graham (4:55 PM)
If South Florida is under water, then wouldn't Cuba be under water, too?
morly (minn)
So how far do you see the cowboys going this year?
Tim Graham (4:55 PM)
I think they're a Super Bowl team.
Dave (Washington, DC)
Tim, be completely honest with me. How many more years do we have to deal with Tom Brady and the Patriots dynasty?
Tim Graham (4:57 PM)
Two? Three? Hard to say, but the Patriots' front office will have to operate at a sublime level to keep winning as their core players get older. And they'll eventually need to find a QB.
Mike Boston
Who looks better at the moment Gholston or Mayo.??
Tim Graham (4:57 PM)
Mayo. Not even close.
Marc -- NJ
Gholston for the best of Long in college.. that clearly means the jets will win.
Tim Graham (4:58 PM)
Gholston isn't listed as the starter this week. How many times he goes head-to-head with Long is uncertain.
John(Buffalo)
Tim, What do you think the BIlls can get for John McCargo? A veteran OLB possibly?
Tim Graham (4:59 PM)
It's my impression he was being dangled before the Crowell situation arose. They might have just been kicking the tires or looking for O-line depth. With the Bills' circumstances so dramatically different than they were 48 hours ago, they've likely changed their minds on a lot of things.
Craig (NY)
What do i gotta do to get my question answered that i submitted nearly 4 hours ago?
Tim Graham (5:00 PM)
Craig, I'm up to 440 questions right now, and the screen shows me the last 10 submitted. I'd buck up and send my question again.
Matt,MPLS
Chester Taylor as the comeback player of the year? Once AP goes down. Why does nobody talk about how many times Peterson has gotten hurt?
Tim Graham (5:02 PM)
Chester Taylor had 844 yards last year. What's he coming back from this year?
Annoyed anonymous
It's funny how I've asked several relevant football questions and the only one that got posted was the one where I asked why you answered so many dumb ones. You definitely work for ESPN...
Tim Graham (5:02 PM)
Says so right on my checks.
John Hollenger (ESPN)
Tim, you've done a great job in this chat. Your PER is off the charts and this is only the start. As a result I have you solidly in the top 10 of my ESPN Chat Host mock draft.
Tim Graham (5:03 PM)
But I'm injury-prone. Wait until the second round.
Drew (Mpls)
I feel bad for you Tim. These people are idiots. Even me, wait, ESPECIALLY me.
Anthony (NYC)
Will Dwight Lowery pull the mat out from under Justin Miller, & become the Jets starting RCB?
Tim Graham (5:04 PM)
It looks like he's going to have a shot to make his case Sunday. I saw him several times at camp and he looked impressive for a fourth-round rookie.
Craig (NY)
Who has the upper hand come Sunday: The Jets knowing Chad's abilities/tendencies or Chad knowing the Jets defense?
Tim Graham (5:05 PM)
Pennington has the edge there. The Jets know Pennington's tendencies in their system, not the Dolphins'. This factor is why I'm picking the Dolphins to win Sunday.
Kevin, Boston
Coles gonna play well this year? This years Colston will be__________
Tim Graham (5:07 PM)
Coles will be fine. As for the second part of your question, it's so hard to say.
Tim Graham (5:07 PM)
Let me think on that ...
joyner (espn)
checked out the "answered after submitted" and you are at minus 4. Up a bit from last year.
Tim Graham (5:09 PM)
I just started working at ESPN a month ago. Other than that, good joke.
Tim Graham (5:10 PM)
Joey in Buffalo, no matter how many times you ask your question, I can't post something that has a profanity in it.
Anthony (NYC)
How big is the lost of Angelo Crowell for the Bills?
Tim Graham (5:11 PM)
Linebackers can be replaced, but as we saw last year, the Bills defense was hampered by having John DiGiorgio out there and not Posluszny. The reason the Bills went out and signed Kawika Mitchell was because Keith Ellison is too small for their liking. Now it looks like they'll need to turn to Ellison again.
joey: buffalo:
hey tim how hardcore is the ralph and the bills faithful...how much of an impact will they have on sunday
Tim Graham (5:13 PM)
I'm not a huge 12th man believer, but in this case I think the Bills will have a bigger edge than usual at home. The Seahawks historically under Holmgren have struggled when they have to play in the Eastern Time Zone.
Greg (Syracuse, NY)
If the Bills make the playoffs does Dick Jauron win COTY?
Tim Graham (5:14 PM)
Eh ... Those awards often go to the teams with the best turnarounds, and the Bills were a competitive 7-9 last year. Now, if they win the AFC East ...
Tom, Boston
You have the Jets losing to Miami in week one but still making the playoffs? The Jets are going to need 2 wins against Miami to get there. Over/Under 3 wins for the Bills against the Jets and Miami this year?
Tim Graham (5:15 PM)
It's all about QB assimilation and related circumstances. The Jets will prove themselves to the better team once Favre gets better acclimated.
David (Roseville)
Big things for Thomas Jones Sunday and this year?
Tim Graham (5:16 PM)
I have not been impressed with Jones. The revamped O-line, a top blocking FB and the threat of Favre throwing the long ball should open up the run game, but Jones was invisible in the preseason.
Anthony (NYC)
Is this the year that Ben Watson steps his game up? He's so talented, he should be a dee coordinator's nightmare. Why hasn't he put it together yet?
Tim Graham (5:17 PM)
He can't stay on the field.
Bill (Fairfax, VA)
You have to win one game, who is your starter Trent Edwards or JP Losman?
Tim Graham (5:17 PM)
Edwards.
Jim (NYC)
Do you think Kitna can have a monster game v. the Falcons this week?
Tim Graham (5:17 PM)
Anybody can have a monster game against the Falcons every week.
Samuel (Yorba Linda, CA)
Will Pennington start the entire year for the Dolphins? Will he start part or all of next year as well?
Tim Graham (5:18 PM)
This year, yes. Next year, probably. Although he has said he would be OK with serving as a backup/mentor to Chad Henne at some point.
dude (s.f.)
Tim, us west coast folks would like to have at least one question answered even if this forum isn't about the west coast teams.....come on man, throw us a bone.
Tim Graham (5:19 PM)
Dude, I cover the AFC East. I don't know what's going on inside the 49ers offices.
Greg (Syracuse, NY)
Bring back the Colts to the AFCE and boot the Dolphins for a year. Who wins the division?
Tim Graham (5:20 PM)
Interesting question. I'd go with the Colts.
Bill (Fairfax, VA)
Does Thomas Jones get more than 1,000 yards this yr?
Tim Graham (5:22 PM)
Probably. With Jesse Chatman out the first four games and the Jets seemingly reluctant to use Leon Washington more, Jones will get a ton of carries. He might average 3.4 yards a pop, but he'll get his carries.
Ryan (San Diego)
The Pats defense will be terrible...admit it or I'll call you a homer forever
Tim Graham (5:22 PM)
I'm not sure what your definition of homer is, but it clearly isn't the same as mine.
Tim Graham (5:22 PM)
And the Patriots D does have its holes.
Tom, Boston
I know this is an AFC East chat, but how do you think Matt Ryan will fare this weekend?
Tim Graham (5:24 PM)
Since you asked the question 23 times in the past three minutes (no exaggeration) ... Yes. Huge. Start him in your fantasy league.
Tom, Boston
Tim, how would you rank the D/ST in the AFC East? It's gotta be Buffalo number one right?
Tim Graham (5:25 PM)
I dunno ... The Jets have a rebuilt D and Leon Washington. Close call.
The Gimp (some basement in CA)
Any chance of Vernon Davis finally playing up to his abilities?
Tim Graham (5:26 PM)
He's the best they have. Somebody has to catch the ball, and they'll be throwing all day.
Paul (Denver)
Who would you start at my flex position this week? Greg Jennings or Ricky Williams/Ronnie Brown?
Tim Graham (5:26 PM)
Nobody knows how Williams/Brown will be used, so I would go with Jennings for Week 1 just to be safe.
nick buffalo
is lee evans really as nice as he seems...no trash talk to show boating just a go out and let the play do the talking kind of guy...
Tim Graham (5:27 PM)
He's one of the nicest athletes I've ever dealt with.
The Gimp (some basement in CA)
The Jets have Namath and the Dolphins have too many to list here, who would you think is the most potentially embarrassing Patriots alum? Irving Fryar?
Tim Graham (5:28 PM)
I'll let others post some names to share while I think on that ...
Greg (Syracuse, NY)
Does Marcus Stroud have a Pro Bowl year?
Tim Graham (5:29 PM)
He'll have a Pro Bowl-caliber year, but that position is loaded, there might not be enough room for him on the Pro Bowl roster. Vince Wilfork, Kris Jenkins and Jason Ferguson are out there, too, and that's just the AFC East.
Dan, Va:
Over/Under on games started by JP Losman this season?
Tim Graham (5:30 PM)
2
Ryan (San Diego)
How about Ellis Hobbs for how he continues to embarass himself trying to impersonate a cornerback
Greg (Syracuse, NY)
Tim, my boss is gonna kill me if he sees me still at my desk. One more question. Can the Bills beat the Pats this year? Or is it time will tell?
Tim Graham (5:31 PM)
Aren't you SUPPOSED to be at your desk? The Bills have a shot to beat the Pats if Brady doesn't play. Remember how lopsided those games were last year? That's a lot of ground to cover for the Bills.
fernando (germany)
can i get you to answer one of my questions please?
Tim Graham (5:32 PM)
I'm up to 675 questions and have been at this for 90 minutes. I can't read them all. Try sending again and maybe I'll see it.
Jason (Los Angeles)
Hey Tim, if you were playing in the league what position would you be?
Tim Graham (5:32 PM)
Left out.
Tim Graham (5:33 PM)
Nobody coming up with embarrassing Patriots other than Hobbs.
Samuel (Yorba Linda, CA)
Can Camarillo become a Welker type(/as good) player? He's supposedly to be the #3 WR I believe.
Tim Graham (5:33 PM)
According to Derek Hagan, Camarillo is the starting No. 2 WR on Sunday.
Tim Graham (5:35 PM)
OK, this is depressing. Nine out of every 10 questions is coming in from somebody pretending to be me. I'm tempting to believe you guys, but my sources tell me I'm not submitting those questions. If you haven't gotten your legit questions answered, send them now. Chances are they'll stand out.
carlos (la,ca)
Tim, What do you make of San Fran QB situation? Is Alex Smith a bust? Thanks
Tim Graham (5:35 PM)
A Ryan Leaf-quality bust.
Bill (Fairfax, VA)
Will Chad Pennington's arm be stronger throwing from the Marlin's infield this season?
Tim Graham (5:36 PM)
If he were a baseball player he'd be hidden at second base so he wouldn't have to rifle it too far,
Kevin, Boston
Still waiting on my Colston question!!
Tim Graham (5:36 PM)
Give me three choices.
Cory (Buffalo)
Would you say Jabari Greer is one of the most underappreciated corners in the league right now?
Tim Graham (5:37 PM)
Even on his own team perhaps. The Bills drafted three CBs and signed a free agent to shore up the position, and it wasn't because they were unhappy with Terrence McGee.
Bill (Fairfax, VA)
Will a Lee Evans deal get done now that a Plaxico contract has gotten done?
Tim Graham (5:38 PM)
The Burress deal could slow down negotiations with Evans. The Burress contract will impact all deals done for No. 1 WRs.
Jesse (Boise, ID)
Rodney Harrison-Dirty player, I'd be embarrassed...their other guy just got caught with drugs (the OL)
dude (s.f.)
any thoughts on who will replace Upshaw?
Tim Graham (5:38 PM)
Trace Armstrong or Troy Vincent are the favorites.
fernando (germany)
shockey or crumpler.......ryan or rivers.......jonathan stewart, adrian peterson chi............willis mcgahee PLEASE HELP TOM
Tim Graham (5:40 PM)
Just send me a link to your page and I'll fill out your entire lineup. Shockey, Rivers, Stewart
Anthony (NYC)
How has Jake Long been holding up at OLT position?
Tim Graham (5:40 PM)
He has done well. Not eye-popping, but the Dolphins are pleased with his NFL adjustment so far.
Samuel (Yorba Linda, CA)
What will the final standings be for the AFC East?
Tim Graham (5:41 PM)
Patriots, Jets, Bills, Dolphins But the Jets and Bills are close.
Jesse (Boise, ID)
Tim-Over/Under on you staying another hour. (when I get off work)?
Tim Graham (5:42 PM)
That's impossible to calculate in the way you phrased it, but the odds of me being around are listed at plus-1200
Liban ((Ottawa))
Do you think san diego is going to to win the super bowl this year?
Tim Graham (5:43 PM)
They have as good a shot as anybody, but to win a Super Bowl you need to not only be good, but a little lucky. They need Merriman to stay healthy.
Ken (Washingtonville, NY)
How well can we really expect Keith Ellison to play in place of Angelo Crowell at LB for the Bills?
Tim Graham (5:44 PM)
That's hard to say. I think he will be OK, but they certainly won't be as good as they were with Crowell on the field.
danny, miami
wIlL teH d0lPhInZ wIN D@ so0pUr b0wL?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!??!?! but seriously look at last year the lost 6 games by 3 or less and had a dozen injuries do you think we are as bad as people say we are? trying to get noticed...again...
Tim Graham (5:46 PM)
They lost six games by three points each (not less), but your point is a good one. They were more competitive than people gave them credit for last year and they got better. The Dolphins aren't that bad.
Tom, Boston
Most impressive rookie this preseason? AFC East and NFL...
Tim Graham (5:47 PM)
AFC East: Dustin Keller; NFL: Kevin Smith from the Lions.
Rich (San Jose)
Who will be J-E-T-S Brett! Brett! Brett's favorite target this season?
Tim Graham (5:49 PM)
He seemed to have chemistry with Jrricho Cotchery right away, but Laveranues Coles has been hurt. So it's difficult to say one over the other right now. I do know that Favre loves the idea of throwing to a receiver like Coles.
Carol (Largo, FL)
Hi Tim--what is your opinion on the Jet's offensive line with Faneca, Nick Mangold, Moore, Woody and Ferguson? Seems impressive. Thank you
Tim Graham (5:49 PM)
Of all the things I saw at the four AFC East camps, the most striking was how good the Jets O-line looked.
Ken (Washingtonville, NY)
You really think that the addition of Brett Favre makes the Jets a Wild Card team in the AFC? People talk about how great he was last year, yet they seem to forget he had probably his worst season ever the year before. The Jets D and running game are not even close to Green Bay's.
Tim Graham (5:50 PM)
The reason I think the Jets are a Wild Card team are their O-line and their defense. Favre just brings it all together and eliminates the biggest question mark the team had: Who their starting QB would be.
Ty (Detroit)
Tim, I'm still having trouble figuring out the Skins play-calling and clock management last night. Can you help me out a little?
Tim Graham (5:51 PM)
They looked lost out there. Good thing they have 10 days before their next game.
Bill (Fairfax, VA)
Does the Ralph in Orchard Park, NY have the best pre-game atmosphere in the NFL?
Tim Graham (5:52 PM)
Lambeau Field, hands down. But that's my opinion.
jim buffalo
MOST underrated player on bills kyle williams or fred jackson
Tim Graham (5:53 PM)
Roscoe Parrish
Scott (b-lo)
Folks!!! We were 7-9 with like 9 players on the IR last year. Crowell is a huge loss, but, we are better this year on both sides of the ball. Let's get Peters in there and let's go after that playoff spot!!!!
Bryan, CA
Most embarassing Patriot..Ted Johnson.
Tommy (ATL)
I need to pick one receiver L Coles, D Bowe, or K Walter. Who would you go with?
Tim Graham (5:54 PM)
Dwayne Bowe. You know they'll be throwing the ball all afternoon.
Tommy (ATL)
What is your favorite Simpsons episode?
Tim Graham (5:54 PM)
The Monorail.
Jimmy (MA)
Most embarassing Patriot is Vinatieri in a Colts uniform
Jesse (Boise, ID)
So your belief is that Buffalo isn't utilizing Roscoe enough? What should they do to get him more involved?
Tim Graham (5:55 PM)
I think he's a dangerous weapon. Now that James Hardy and his 6-6 frame is around, they might be able to try some different things underneath.
Jason (florida)
No, the most underrated player on the Bills is Marshawn Lynch.
Tim Graham (5:56 PM)
Sports Illustrated's Peter King picked him to lead the AFC in rushing this year. I don't think Lynch is underrated.
Bryan, MA
Most embarassing Patriot is probably Tony Eason after the ball was snapped.
Tim Graham (5:56 PM)
OK, folks. I like to go two hours and we're approaching it. I will go a little longer, but I need to wrap it up.
Jesse (Boise, ID)
Most embarassing Patriot-every has been they bring in for the Defense too late in their career (Seau,Lynch, soon to be Ty Law)
josh (davis, ca)
Take your pick: Marshawn or Peterson for this year
Tim Graham (5:57 PM)
Peterson
Andy (NYC)
Tim, are there other options for the Bills out there to replace Crowell through FA or a trade?
Tim Graham (5:58 PM)
The options are extremely limited. Unless the Bills want to try to convince Junior Seau to flip allegiances.
Samuel (Yorba Linda, CA)
How many years until the Dolphins make it to the playoffs? (include this year)
Tim Graham (5:58 PM)
Three
BJ (SLC)
Lots of people forget how great Ronnie Brown was before the injury last year. Will he surprise people this year by looking like a top NFL back again?
Tim Graham (5:59 PM)
It all comes down to his health. Not only is he coming off season-ending knee surgery, but he also has shown he's injury-prone. He needs to stay out of the trainer's room.
dave (buffalo)
are the bills gonna bring back donnie spragan ?????
Tim Graham (6:00 PM)
I saw Spragan play last year in Miami. If that who they bank on, good luck.
Kevin, Boston
I gave you a list for Colston. Anthony Gonzalez breaking out this year.
Tim Graham (6:00 PM)
That's a good choice.
Anthony (NYC)
Besides Jerrod Mayo, how is Michigan OLB Shawn Crable comin along in the Pats defensive system?
Tim Graham (6:01 PM)
I'll be honest. I haven't been to Foxborough for a while and that's the sort of development that can show dramatic gains in a short period of time. I would be guessing.
Ben (Tempe, AZ)
Is Dustin Keller a viable fantasy option? What would you project his final stats to be? 60 Rec 800 yard 8 tds?
Tim Graham (6:02 PM)
It's too difficult to project a rookie's stats, especially when he's one of three TE options. But Keller is a sensational talent.
Jason (La)
Do they really need the "ough" in Foxborough
Tim Graham (6:03 PM)
Well, it's how they spell it. Everybody got confused when they named the stadium Foxboro.
Todd (Denver, CO)
The Bills got alot of grief for not selecting Matt Leinert a few years ago, where are those people now?
Tim Graham (6:03 PM)
Clubbing in Tempe.
justin rinaldi (WI)
i need help for a 3rd reciever
Tim Graham (6:04 PM)
Is Randy Moss available?
Jason (La)
Marion Barber or Clinton Portis?
Tim Graham (6:04 PM)
Barber, but monitor Felix Jones' carries. The Cowboys love Jones.
Bill (Fairfax, VA)
How many weeks before we hear stories that the Tuna is calling the plays from his luxury box?
Tim Graham (6:05 PM)
The cameras will be on him all game. There won't be any rumors unless he's shown on the phone.
Travis (Laramie, WY)
Do you think T. Ginn will have a better year than last year, Tim?
Tim Graham (6:07 PM)
For sure. He'll have a big year in the return game. As a WR, the jury's still out, but he'll see a lot more passes this year (only 34 catches in 2007).
Kayla (Buffalo)
Do u agree that Marshawn gets less hype than he deserves?
Tim Graham (6:07 PM)
Part of that is because he isn't involved in the passing game like other elite RBs are.
Jon (UT)
How bad are the Fins' WRs? Do they have enough to get it done, or is the passing game going to be non existent this year?
Tim Graham (6:09 PM)
When Greg Camarillo, who walked on at Stanford as a punter, wasn't drafted and came off a practice squad, is a starter despite nobody being hurt ... That's a red flag.
Kayla (Buffalo)
Maybe he isnt involved in the passing game is because their qb isnt great..ever thought of that?
Tim Graham (6:10 PM)
No, I haven't thought of that. All QBs can throw a dump off to a RB. In fact, that's what the lousy QBs usually resort to.
somewhere
simpsons or familyguy...
Tim Graham (6:10 PM)
Classic Simpsons, but Family Guy by far over the newer Simpsons.
Andy (Albany, NY)
When does Hardy take over for Reed as the Bills #2 WR?
Tim Graham (6:10 PM)
I'm not sure it hasn't happened already.
Jon (UT)
Wow, that bad, huh? I still don't understand why the Fins didn't make WR more of a concern this offseason. Insight?
Tim Graham (6:11 PM)
They brought in Ernest Wilford, who barely was noticed in the preseason.
Cory (Buffalo)
Would you say the Bills secondary has the potential to be one of the best in the league?
Tim Graham (6:12 PM)
Based on potential? Maybe, but way down the road.
Tim Graham (6:13 PM)
OK, guys, I hate to cut it off, but we have been at it for 2 hours, 14 minutes.
Jason (La)
Whats the situation with Jamal Lewis
Tim Graham (6:13 PM)
I just know he has been limited in practice. I don't know what his status is for Sunday.
Kayla (Buffalo)
Well whatever you say Marshawn is the biggest beast in the nfl and he will show that once again this year.
Tim Graham (6:14 PM)
I don't disagree with you.
Tim Graham (6:15 PM)
I just took a look at the question count and we're at 983 ... For personal satisfaction, I'll stick around until we hit four figures. But don't post your question a bazzilion times.
Kevin, Boston
Next time I am expecting a better answer from you on a breakout WR-you have some homework to do
Tim Graham (6:16 PM)
It's just that there are so many candidates, and yet I don't know what criteria you're using. Those on-the-spot questions are tough in a chat because you need to keep things moving.
danny, miami
what are you talking about tim!? greg FTW(for the win) he did give us our only win last season....yeah....but anyways how do you think the pats will fair? (please no 19-0...)
Tim Graham (6:17 PM)
The Pats will lose some games, but I think they're still the team to beat.
Nick (Reno, Nevada (775))
Who should I start: Thomas Jones or Edgerrin James?
Tim Graham (6:18 PM)
I'm not too high on Jones right now, although a few factors indicate he should do well (O-line, Tony Richardson, et al). Jones looked ragged in the preseason. I'd stick with James until Jones shows more.
Gabriel (Miami, Florida)
Tim, give us your super bowl picks?
Tim Graham (6:19 PM)
Dallas over New England
Cory (Buffalo)
Schwabb or Gerrard?
Tim Graham (6:20 PM)
Don't go on Wheel of Fortune, Cory ... Schaub this week.
Tim Graham (6:20 PM)
But I'm a Garrard fan, too. Do some more research on that one before taking my word for it.
Travis (Laramie, WY)
Best guess yards and tds for R.Williams on sunday?
Tim Graham (6:20 PM)
80 yards, no TDs
Max (Boston)
Which two should I start out of these three: Coles, Bowe, Galloway?
Tim Graham (6:21 PM)
Question No. 1,000 ... So I have to answer it ... If Coles is healthy, go with him. But Bowe looks like the safest bet.
Jason (La)
START BOWE!
Carol (Largo, FL)
Eagle's DeSean Jackson and the Buc's Dexter Jackson could be break out WR for Kevin's list.
Tim Graham (6:22 PM)
Thanks, Carol. Two good ones.
Anthony (NYC)
Will Chansi Stuckey or David Clowney(when he gets back), which one will be Favre's secret weapon-a deep threat?
Tim Graham (6:22 PM)
Every time I saw Clowney at training camp he did something that made him stand out.
Henny (Allentown, PA)
The Steelers are overrated...
Tim Graham (6:23 PM)
I agree. Their O-line is a concern.
Tim Graham (6:23 PM)
Thanks everybody. I had a blast.
