Buzzmaster (12:06 PM)
We're getting Tag right now!
Buzzmaster (12:20 PM)
OK, now we're really getting Tag!
Tom (Hackensack)
Tag, could brandon jacobs make it as a linebacker in the NFL? I love his running style...
Tag Ribary (12:30 PM)
The way he delivers a blow - probably. I enjoy his running style also.
Jonny (NY)
Do you think my Bears have any shot of not being as bad as everyone seems to think they'll be?
Tag Ribary (12:32 PM)
If they get back to playing the type of defense they are used to, they will surprise people. No one in this league is that much worse than everyone else.
Jason, Charlotte
My Redskins looked lost last night, being from North Carolina, should I just go ahead a look forward to Tarheel Basketball?
Tag Ribary (12:35 PM)
Last night didn't look good but keep the faith. They still have good players but it will take the offense some time to get going. To keep things in perspective they were playing the defending champs at home on opening night. Thats a tough first game to start the year with.
Buffalo, NY
what is up with Angelo Crowell? Why are Bills so quick to put players on IR? (see Pozlusny; Troy Vincent)I know he's going to be a free agent but this seems like a mistake
Tag Ribary (12:37 PM)
I was a little surprised by that one also. He shows up for work and is put on IR with little explanation.
Henry (Buffalo)
Giants fans are talking about how they got a win last night, but is it just me or did they not look all that impressive.
Tag Ribary (12:39 PM)
I was very impressed with them in the first half. The game was a little stale after that.
Charlie (Milwaukee)
Last night might as well have been another preseason game. It was ugly. Can either team take anything away from it?
Tag Ribary (12:40 PM)
The Giants should feel good about their offensive line, running game and certain areas of the passing game. They could use some help covering kicks. The Redskins looked like they were still in pre-season mode.
Jarric (Kansas)
Yo Tag! Congratulations on being the new man in Scouts Inc! How do you think the addition of Al Saunders will affect Stephen Jackson's numbers this year? Can he produce Priest Holmes-like numbers this year?
Tag Ribary (12:43 PM)
Hey Jarric - thanks. Steven Jackson could be a beast in Saunders offense. His system has a solid history of production from the RB position if he stays healthy.
Dan (Pittsburgh)
Jim Zorn's playcalling was so terrible...Does he not trust Jason Campbell or something?
Tag Ribary (12:45 PM)
Zorn is new to calling plays and Campbell is new to this offense. That's a combination that could take a while to get in synch.
MJ (Boston, MA)
Tag - I saw the Scouts inc ratings of all the NFL players, that was a joke right? Terence Newman an 84? Have you guys ever watched him play? Nnamdi a 94??? T-New's been lights out for the past 3 years...Nnamdi had a good year in 2006, his YPA wasn't that great last year....overall Newman's been better so far in their 5 years.
Tag Ribary (12:49 PM)
MJ - Don't take offense to the rating, Both are good players. Nnamdi was a franchise player on a bad defense last year. Newman has benefited from a better pass rush etc.
Andy (Ann Arbor, MI)
I didn't see the Willie Anderson release coming. Was it a cap move, is he washed up, or is there ANOTHER pending Bengal arrest we haven't heard about yet?
Tag Ribary (12:53 PM)
I dont think there will be any arrests coming with Anderson. However his age, durability, salary were all factors. Also, the fact that they franchised Stacy Andrews probably had something to do with it.
Ryan (America's Finest City)
How sad is it that the Chargers can't even sell out their opening home game in the same season everyone is on their bandwagon?? What does that tell you about San Diego fans??
Tag Ribary (12:54 PM)
That is surprising.
Paul (MD)
Tag: better stats this weekend--Roddy White or Santonio Holmes? Thanks
ben plattsburgh
Gotta agree with mj on the bogusness of the scouting numbers, Osi and Tuck are 9th and 10th best dlineman in the league? really? Osi on the IR is more valuable than some of the guys rated ahead of him!
Tag Ribary (12:57 PM)
I have a feeling the ratings were made before Osi got hurt.
Bob (Madison, WI)
What can we expect from Matt Hasselebck and the "no name" Seattle WRs. Seems like the perfect offense to withstand injuries because it just produces results.
Tag Ribary (1:02 PM)
Holmgren will find a way to move the ball. More involvement from the TE's and RB's I would assume. Buffalo should get a steady dose of the run game and the Seattle defense will keep them in it if they start slow.
Brandon (Chicago)
Tag, You got to help me I cant decide. Big Ben or McNabb? My opponent has Westbrook.
Tag Ribary (1:05 PM)
McNabb. When he throws to Westbrook you will benefit also.
Robert (Dallas)
Whos better Brandon Jacobs or Marion Barber. They both seem to run the same way.
Tag Ribary (1:07 PM)
I like both. Barber has a little more wiggle to him in space.
Calloway (Belleville, IL)
How do you think my Falcons will this year? No one is giving them a chance...how bout you? Thanks!
Tag Ribary (1:10 PM)
They are starting off right and the plan of good defense, strong running game and good special teams play will keep them in a lot of games.
Dallas (WV)
Hello, any word on Antonio Gates. I heard he was going to play and now i hear he wont start. Whats up Thanks
Tag Ribary (1:13 PM)
I heard he's ready but he probably won't be 100%.
Tag Ribary (1:14 PM)
Thanks for the question everybody. I have to get going. Enjoy the games this weekend.
