Dustin Seattle, WA
With all of the Seahawks wideouts out at the moment, do you think the hawks should put their faith in these young guys, or look for a solid FA? If so, who? Other thoughts?
Tag Ribary (3:42 PM)
Hey Dustin, Today is the day they are most likely going to make a decision. They will more than likely have some workouts and then sign the best available player for practice tomorrow. I thought Joe Horn could help them but he is older and I'm not sure if he is fully healthy yet after missing a good portion of the pre-season with Atlanta.
Tim (NJ)
Best oline in the nfl goes to.....giants?
Tag Ribary (3:43 PM)
The would get my vote right now. St Louis will have their hands full this week with that group.
Gray (Chicago)
Bears defense looked 2006-esque...I was always under the impression injures killed the Bears last year. Why can't the Bears be as dominant as they were in 2006 this year and make a run in the NFC North?
Tag Ribary (3:45 PM)
They sure looked good on Sunday. With solid defense and now a ground game to build around on offense, they are off to a good start.
Steve (Moscow, ID)
Has the Broncos run defense improved or are the Raiders just that bad?
Tag Ribary (3:46 PM)
Steve I think it's combination of both. Ryan Clady the rookie LT looks like a great addition for them up front.
Alex (New York)
Dolphins and Jets were #1 and #2 respectively in preseason sacks and both of them had good pass rushes on Sunday-Is this due to poor offensive line play (particulary by the Jets-Favre admitted blowing line calls on 2 of the sacks)or are both of these units really that much improved?
Tag Ribary (3:49 PM)
Both are much better than last year. A strong inside presence with Jenkins (NYJ) and Ferguson (MIA) help free up the outside matchups for other players.
Carlos (LA,CA)
Tag, Which bay area team is the worst? San fran or Oak? Thanks.
Tag Ribary (3:51 PM)
Tough call at this point. Both teams looked sloppy and make too many mistakes. It's early though.
B (Minneapolis)
Am I seeing things or did Jamarcus actually good but lacked support from his receivers?
Tag Ribary (4:00 PM)
He appeared to settle down as the game went along. They need to give him more time to throw but once they started moving him around outside the pocket he was able to get into a groove.
Greg(Cal)
What are your thoughts on the Raiders DeAngelo Hall? Overated!
Tag Ribary (4:04 PM)
He has a short fuse and is volatile. Teams can take advantage of that like Steve Smith did last year. He is extremely talented but it's hard to tell how he is going to react at times, that's for sure.
Bryon(South Buffalo)
Do you think the Buffalo Bills are for real? Or are we getting ahead of ourselves?
Tag Ribary (4:07 PM)
Dick Jauron gets the most out of his players and puts them in position to succeed. They had a great game plan for Seattle. It will be tough to get that type of special teams production every week but I think they can be a 9-7 team if they keep it going.
Mike(Utica,NY)
Could Eddie Royal become the next Steve Smith?
Tag Ribary (4:09 PM)
He sure looked like it last night. He has similar physical skills but Steve is one of the best in the business so only time will tell.
John(Buffalo)
Do you think the Buffalo Bills have a decent shot at winning their division now that Tom Brady's injury hurts the Patriots?
Tag Ribary (4:12 PM)
Hey John. Decent shot? Yes. I think that division is wide open this year.
Matt(San Diego)
How much longer do you see Shawne Merriman playing with one bad wheel?
Tag Ribary (4:13 PM)
I think it will depend on his performance the next couple of games. If they have other LB injuries it could get complicated.
Johnny(Queens)
Any truth to the rumors that the Buffalo Bills are trying to trade former 1st rd pick DT John McCargo? For what?
Tag Ribary (4:17 PM)
I haven't heard that. I know defensive linemen are hard to find. That tpe of move would seem to make more sense in the offseason.
Dustin, Washington
Michael Turner. Real deal?
Tag Ribary (4:18 PM)
Yes, the real deal.
Andy(Florida)
Will the Dolphins commit to one RB? Or will they use Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown all season like they did last game?
Tag Ribary (4:20 PM)
As long as both are running hard I expect them to use both.
Mikey(Lackawanna,NY)
The Bills Marcus Stroud looked like a beast on Sunday! Should the Jaguars be nervous? Especially with those O-line issues?
Tag Ribary (4:23 PM)
A lot of Bills questions today. I like it. Stroud will probably make a statement against his former team. I wouldn't want to be responsible for blocking him this week.
Jared (Denver CO)
Tag my man please comment on Cutler, he looks like he is the real deal!!!
Tag Ribary (4:24 PM)
I'm a big Jay Cutler fan. He looked great. Love his arm strength and accuracy. Robert Royal and Brandon Marshall with Stokely in the slot? Look out San Diego.
Mike(Utica,NY)
What do you think of Felix Jones, he ran like a younger Clinton Portis.
Tag Ribary (4:25 PM)
He's going to be a good one. Explosive guy that shoud be able to rip off some long gains for Dallas this year.
Chris(boston)
Daunte Culpepper to the Patriots? Don't you think that would be a nice fit for 1 season? He does have chemstry with Randy Moss!
Tag Ribary (4:28 PM)
It sounds better than the reality of it. He would have to learn extremely fast to be able to help them now. By the time he is up to speed the direction of their seaosn may have aleady been determined.
Nick (Cleveland)
I thought Michael Huff was the next Ed Reed? He can't even tackle. Would he be better off at corner? And maybe another team?
Tag Ribary (4:30 PM)
You're not alone. A lot of people were excited about him in the draft. He looked like a solid draft pick but he hasn't lived up to expectations yet, no question.
Ryan (San Diego)
Cmon...EVERYONE looks good against the raiders. I'm not sure there was a more overrated defense coming into the season than Oakland. They have ZERO pass rush and Dangelo Hall is a below average db with temper issues. We'll see how good Cutler is against a real defense this Sunday
Jerry(Texas)
How many games do you think Lane Kiffen will last as the Raiders headcoach?
Tag Ribary (4:33 PM)
Jerry, I hate to speculate on that type of thing. What an owner chooses to do with his head coach or anyone else that works for him is up to the owner. Sorry.
Cosmo (Anytown, USA)
Are the Iggles that good, the Rams that bad, or a combo?
Tag Ribary (4:35 PM)
Cosmo, I like the Eagles this year, I've said it before if Donovan McNabb can stay healhy they will be extremely tough. The Rams are trying to adjust to a new offense and haven't been fully healthy as a team for quite a while.
Jared (Denver Co)
Hey Ryan in SD where was that "Real D" against Delhome and no S Smith?
Tag Ribary (4:40 PM)
They didn't look like the defense I expected to see. I give Jake and the Carolina team credit for a good game though.
Casey(PA)
How much do you think Randy Moss stats will be effected with Tom Brady out of the lineup?
Tag Ribary (4:43 PM)
I'm assuming fewer big pays initially. Cassell should still feed him the ball plenty however, There isn't a better player to help him look good in a hurry,
Mike(Bethlaham Park)
With Angelo Crowell out for the season? Do you think the Bills should consider signing OLB Rosevelt Colvin? He played under Coach Jauron in Chicago.
Tag Ribary (4:47 PM)
Crowell is more of a stacked LB so there isn't a direct correlation of skills. If they brought in Colvin it would more than likely be for his pas rush/blitzing ability.
Ed (Fond du Lac)
Tag, what record do you see for the Packers this year? Watch out for that O when Wells (C) and James Jones (WR3) are back.
Tag Ribary (4:52 PM)
Ed, they have a tough schedule. I like their team but so much is riding on Rodgers. I'll be optimistic and say 10-6
Mikey(Lackawanna,NY)
What are your thoughts on the QB class of 2004? One of the best ever? Eli Manning, Philip Rivers, Ben Roethlisberger.
Tag Ribary (4:55 PM)
Great year to draft a QB. Certainly one of the better QB draft classes in the last 10 years.
Matt(Idaho)
Why did the Bills put Angelo Crowell on IR? Especially since he was rumored to be out a month? What do you know? Give us the skinny!
Tag Ribary (4:56 PM)
I was asked that question earlier this week and still haven't found out exactly how that whole thing went down. Sorry
Ryan (Cleveland, OH)
What are you thoughts on the Steelers O-line from Sunday? Better than expected, considering one of Houston's strengths is its D-line?
Tag Ribary (4:58 PM)
They played better than I expected. Good to see though because I picked them to win the division.
Jim(Denver)
If Bo Jackson would have never gotten hurt? Do you think he would of been one of the best RB's in the history of the NFL?
Tag Ribary (4:59 PM)
I do. He was awesome. Speed, power, he was great to watch.
Eric(New Orleans)
Do you think LeCharles Bentley will ever play in the NFL again? I know he got hurt! But he was one of the best C/G in the NFL?
Tag Ribary (5:02 PM)
That's a tough call. Someone may give him a chance if he can pass their physical. He was very good when he was in New Orleans.
Tag Ribary (5:04 PM)
Hey everybody my time is up. Thanks for the questions and good luck to your teams this weekend.
