I think it's a shaky game between two teams with major issues on their O-lines and lots of questions all over their offenses. Right now I'm not sure who is worse off right now.I do think UM has the right coach. Not sure if ND does.

Can the Badgers offense maul Fresno's D and can Evridge do enough in the passing game to balance things out a bit. Wisky struggled big time on the road last season and the biggest issues were on offense.

I think ECU is very good. They're physical and fast and Patrick Pickney is playing great at QB. I think WVU is still a very good team. This is a bit of a down year for VT.. too much inexperience on D and not enough playmakers on O.

Maryland is a mess now. The QB play has been terrible and Cal's offense is very explosive. Another downer for ACC I suspect.

I think Mizzou wins by double digits. Getting FS William Moore back is a big boost for that D. Nevada's defense is underrated. They did a nice job against Texas Tech.

Concerning the whole deal with the call in the BYU/Washington game, I don't get what the big deal is. I know the call might not have been the best call, but the fact of the matter is that BYU blocked it. It would be much much different if the kick fell short or just missed, although 35 yds isnt that far. But it wouldn't have mattered if they were on the goal line, BYU pushed through Washington's line and straight up blocked it.

I don't know. Did the kicker hit it at a lower trajectory to make sure his distance was better? Otherwise a busted assignment on the line would negate that theory indeed.

Are you suggesting that WVU is better than VT? VT lost in the last 2 minutes to ECU on a blocked punt. WVU was dominated the whole game. I'm not saying VT is where it normally is at this point, but I think we'll continue to see them get better and surprise people by the end of the year.

Actually, I was suggesting that, although you make a nice point. Then again one was at a neutral site and the other was at ECU. I think WVU is better than Tech this year, but I could be wrong.

They're great. Along with Patrick Chung from Oregon, theyre probably the three best safeties in the country. Both USC guys are 225 pounds and can really run and hit.

I think BYU's offense will be better than what UCLA faced against Tenn. I'm leaning towards the Cougars but I think UCLA will play hard and score some points on a shaky BYU D.

Quick aside: back when I first got to ESPN, I shared an office with the Stump the Schwab guy (Howie Schwab) and one day while they were filming one of those SportsCenter commercials, the Orange was hanging out in our office and the kid who played him was pretty obnoxious. Tebow's great. But he also played a year and wasn't the guy until his second season on the field after being a complimentary guy to Chris Leak. For a first time out in a pretty hostile environment, Marve was accurate and didn't make many mistakes. I think he's the real deal.

Maualuga's a much bigger guy, but my hunch is Laurinaitis goes higher. Then again, I could see Brian Cushing going higher than both of them since he probably tests better. I don't know. I will be fascinated to see how Tebow does in the NFL. I'll say this I think he's a great college player and great for college football in the way he conducts himself.
