Todd is here!
Larry (Charlotte)
How hard is it for Matt Kenseth to come back now from 177 points out?
Todd Bodine (1:30 PM)
It's going to be difficult, no doubt about it. Can it be done? Yeah. The problem is that the other drivers and teams will have to have problems like Matt had. The chances are slim, but it can be done.
Buzz (Pompano Beach)
after week 1 of the Chase, is anybody out? I mean realistically, obviously no one is mathematically out
Todd Bodine (1:31 PM)
Matt's going to have a hard time overcoming a 177 point deficit. Mathematically, it can be done. It's never impossible, but you have to have that mindset going into each race - go in there and do the best you can.

What do you think of these stories of Dale Junior cussing out his crew chief during races?
Todd Bodine (1:33 PM)
Well, as a driver, you're out there driving your guts out, doing the best you can with what you've got. When you go from pulling away from the pack leading to hanging on for dear life, sometimes you emotions get the best of you. The person that takes the brunt of that is the crew chief. I'm sure after the race Dale and Tony talked about it and everything is just fine.
James (Chicago)
Does Edwards have what it takes to hold on and win this thing?
Todd Bodine (1:34 PM)
Absolutely. Carl's been in points races before, even though he hasn't won in the Cup, I believe he's won the Busch and Trucks. He's got a great team and they've been on a roll running well all year. Out of everyone in the chase besides Kyle, he's probably got the best shot.
Ken (Trenton, NJ)
Is Busch out of it after his bad showing in the first Chase race?
Todd Bodine (1:35 PM)
The momentum of running well is still there. They have to keep their eyes on the ball and it was a bad week. They can still run as well as they have in the past. As coach Gibbs as a leader and mentor, I don't think they'll have any problem coming back at Dover and running as strong as they have all year.
KK, Sacto
Are we pretty much down to a two-man race in Trucks? Looks like it's Benson's to loose with Hornaday having the last best shot.
Todd Bodine (1:36 PM)
For the title, I would say it's definitely a two-man race. There's another race for third and there's four of us in that race. I think that's very good for the sport that we have that kind of points battle going on. Unfortunately, the guys that aren't going to contend for the win, we've all had some bad luck along the way and it's going to take away from that chance.
Kevin (Manchester, N.H.)
Todd, what have NASCAR's manadated enginge changes on the Toyotas in the Truck Series done to the balance of power. It sure likes the Chevys are faster now.
Todd Bodine (1:37 PM)
You're exactly right. The Toyotas' strong suit has to be their cornering. You have to beat everyone in the corners to beat them in the straightaway. Now we're getting beat in the straightaways. It's an unfair advantage that everyone has over the Toyotas.
Erik (LA)
What did you think of the race this weekend?
Todd Bodine (1:38 PM)
I thought it was a very entertaining race. Lots of drama. Lots going on - both good and bad. It came down to a late race pass to win the race. THat's great NASCAR racing. I think the Chase is going to be really interesting to watch.
Jeff (Haltom City, Texas)
Biffle talked about crew changes helping his team out yesterday. How critical is just one bad (or maybe just mediocre) crewman on a team's chances?
Todd Bodine (1:39 PM)
As in any team sport, whether racing, football, baseball, your team is only as good as your weakest link. If they had some people that couldn't quite pull their weight, you have to do something different to improve their overall team. Obviously they felt the one weak link that they had needed to be changed and it made a difference in their performance.
Wanda, Fort Worth
Off to Vegas this weeks for the trucks. What do you expect to see out there?
Todd Bodine (1:40 PM)
I think it's going to be an incredible race, the way the Truck Series has gone. The loss in HP overall in the series, drafting is going to be key. In Las Vegas, the new configuration lends itself to drafting. I think you'll see a close race.
Neal (Washington)
Did kyle busch peak too soon?
Todd Bodine (1:41 PM)
Well, I don't think it's a matter of peaking too soon, I think maybe the competitors have caught up. I know the Chase contenders did a lot of things through the season. They didn't have their act together most of the year. But now with the Chase, they've put all of their ducks in a row and the competition has kicked up a notch.
Blake (Arlington, TX)
Who is your choice to take it all.
Todd Bodine (1:42 PM)
Right now I wouldn't make that prediction. There's too many good teams that run well week in week out. Circumstances, like what happened to Kyle yesterday can happen to anyone. I'm not going to make a prediction like that right now.
Charlie (Milwaukee)
What's your favorite NASCAR track?
Todd Bodine (1:43 PM)
Well, I realy don't have a favorite track. My philosophy has been and always will be, if I'm racing, I'm having fun. I can't really say that I have a favorite.
Dale (Louisville)
Wjat do you do in your down time?
Todd Bodine (1:44 PM)
Well, there's not a lot of down time. In the Truck Series, we're fortunate to get more time off than the other two. I like to spend as much time in the race shop as I can. Once in a while, I like to take a vacation or a three-day break to relax.
Todd Bodine (1:44 PM)
