They need to be impressive every week and can't have too many close games down the stretch and I think they need VT and WVU to bounce back and show to be top 20 teams.. If VT goes 7-5 and WVU is 8-4 those wins will be devalued some.

Bruce- PLEASE COMMENT THIS! MWC fans are crying foul they have no BCS bid. But WVU has won 2 BCS games, Louisville another, and the Big East has beaten Auburn, Georgia, Oklahoma, Kansas, Va. Tech, Kentucky, Kansas State, Wake Forest, UNC, and is 10-4 in bowl games..... all in a three year span! There is no way the MWC even can touch that resume'. Settle the argument please for the newbies in the MWC...

While I do think the MWC is underrated with three legit top 25 programs (BYU, Utah and TCU), you raise a good point. People and this goes for me too, need to keep in mind that one or two weeks shouldnt mean everything. From talking to BCS bowl reps over the weekend, it takes a long body of work for a league to be stripped of its status in the bowl picture.. plus if WVU bounces back and upsets an Auburn team in a few weeks, that'll be a big chip for the Big East.

If I had to pick one I'd say Cal. Most people out here were starting to get on the Bear bandwagon, especially with Jahvid Best and the speed they have and then to get jumped on by a Maryland team that just lost to Middle Tennessee really stings. Plus it lead off the day so it was something people digested for a while as opposed to the late effect of the two Arizona schools.

Ringer needs to stay healthy and the D-line needs to become more dominant. They can start by getting some heat on Jimmy Clausen this weekend. If they can't beat ND, I think it'd be hard to count on them as a legit top 20 team.

Limit the Ducks' big plays. Oregon is very fast, but so far Boise's D has been sharp, but this is a big step up in competition. Also the Ducks have a good secondary and I think it'll be big if Boise can control the ball.

Oregon State didn't show them very much and Paterno's former player Al Golden has done a really good job at Temple. They're decent now.

Keep winning. Barely beating an awful SD State team and then beating a Michigan team that lost to Utah and barely beat Miami-OH isn't going to get you in the top 10. I think ND is improved. I'm just not sure what they're on the way back to? Being 8-4 and getting beat in a bowl game or being a legit top 10 team?

I think he'll either be a great third down back or maybe a wideout. He is a great receiver and very elusive. I know he has gotten bigger in the last year but I'm not sure he could be an every down back in the NFL.

I am biased but is it not unfair to put ND and UM as teams that have fallen from grace? Michigan has gone to bowl games for 30+ years and beat the SEC last yr., but I will concede this is a down year due to massive overhaul. Notre Dame has multiple losing seasons lately and has not won a bowl game in years.
