Amanda (1:03 PM)
Hey guys...Colin is just finishing up some promos. He'll be here in a sec. Send your questions - we'll try to get to as many as possible.
Colin (1:06 PM)
I'm here. Fire away.
JOSH (CEDAR RAPIDS)
IF USC GOES UNDEFEATED AND SO DOES OKLAHOMA & LSU WHO MAKES THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME?
Colin (1:06 PM)
I'd probaby lean an SEC team...so USC/LSU.
Derek (State College, PA)
To heck with you Colin, we all at Happy valley just want to know how Amanda is feeling and how the pregnancy is coming along...
Amanda (1:07 PM)
Let me step in here. I am NOT pregnant. FIsch is just kidding.
Tim (Pennsylvania)
IF I TYPE IN ALL CAPS DO I HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF HAVING MY QUESTION READ?
Colin (1:07 PM)
No. All caps guy never makes the chat.
Casey (Tupelo, MS)
Whats for lunch today?
Colin (1:07 PM)
I had some cottage cheese, grilled chicken and this bean salad from the ESPN cafe. Best part about ESPN.
irishfoool (denver)
Do you watch Entourage?
Colin (1:08 PM)
I generally watch it on Tuesdays.
Drew (Pittsburgh)
Colin, How do you feel about Penn State in the nation championship picture?
Colin (1:08 PM)
Love their skill people. It'd be nice if they played something besides 8-man football teams. But they have an outside shot.
Ryan (Chicago)
Colin, beer of choice?
Colin (1:09 PM)
I had a Hooker's Ale yesterday...it's a Bloomfield, CT brewery. Very good.
Super Mario (Seattle, WA)
Colin have you played my super mario galaxy game on your herd approved nintento wii?
Colin (1:09 PM)
Love the downhill skiing game.
sterling (fremont, ne)
colin, albert pujols mvp of 2008?
Colin (1:10 PM)
Probably...although nobody has moved an entire city like Manny Ramirez for the Dodgers.
Gary (Connecticut)
What 's the chance of the chargers covering a 9 point spread out of desperation not to be 0-3?
Colin (1:10 PM)
San Diego just gives up too many points. 9 points is a lot to give up for a team with their defense.
Frank (Atlanta, GA)
Colin do you think the Falcons finally have professional coaches?
Colin (1:11 PM)
FRom GM to QB, there seems to be much more maturity in place for the Falcons. This is still a young team. Let's not get ahead of ourselves, but they are improving.
steven (salem)
colin, was the miami win a fluck?
Colin (1:11 PM)
I don't believe in flukes. Great game plan, plus great execution, plus great momentum = win.
Mike (Columbus)
Will Vick find a job when he finally returns?
Colin (1:12 PM)
Yeah, at Arby's. or maybe McDonald's.
George (Los Angeles)
Are the redskins better that what people think?
Colin (1:12 PM)
Maybe, but they have two home wins over the Saints and Cardinals, the two worst road teams in the NFL for the last decade.
Jerry (Wenatchee,Wa.)
Heading to vegas with some buddies. Give me a couple must do's or must sees. Great show.
Colin (1:13 PM)
Go to the Fontana Bar at the Venetian. And go to my buddy's restaurant on Trop and Eastern. It's called the Pasta Shop.
Michael (King City, Ca)
i'm a bills fan. There is nothing really special about them but then win. See them competing for the AFC championship anytime soon?
Colin (1:13 PM)
Probably not this year. They are still very young at QB. But it's an improving franchise. I like the way they are headed.
Sam (Boise, ID)
Colin, do you think we get a little more respect today or not?
Colin (1:14 PM)
I've always respected Boise State. They aren't USC or LSU, but they can play with all but a handful of teams in the country.
manny (new york)
how can manny have a shot at the mvp he does not even have 200 abs?
Colin (1:14 PM)
Sandy Koufax had three great years, but he's still a Hall of Famer.
David (St. Louis)
UGA or Bama this Saturday?
Colin (1:15 PM)
Georgia. Better at QB and at home.
jacob (orlando)
Phil Fulmer or Lloyd Carr?
Colin (1:15 PM)
What's option three?
Mike (Richmond)
When is it light's out in the Cowherd household?
Colin (1:15 PM)
Last night it was 11 PM. Depends on what's on TV.
Mark (San Diego)
Is Charlie Weiss in trouble or will they wait until they see his 2009 team?
Colin (1:16 PM)
No, he'll win 7 or 8 games because of a weak schedule and make a decent bowl.
Tom (Minnesota)
Think you'll ever get married again?
Colin (1:16 PM)
Very unlikely. My kids are my first priority.
Chuck Norris (My Dojo)
Colin, Is your last name seriously Cowherd?
Colin (1:16 PM)
No, it's my stage name. My real name is Sky Bannister. Seriously, do think I would make up "Cowherd?"
Drew (Pittsburgh)
Penn State or Wiscosin?
Colin (1:17 PM)
Slight edge to PSU because of their skill people.
Mike Tomlin
What in the hell was I thinking yesterday?
Colin (1:17 PM)
Great question. By the way, Eagles run D is unbelievable.
Jacob (Atlanta)
Better looking women? Miami or LA?
Colin (1:18 PM)
It's a toss up. MIami has a very nice Latin flavor to it.
Reggie Kuipers (Omaha, NE)
Do you think Pelini will get the Huskers back to a Top 25 team?
Colin (1:18 PM)
Probably...somewhere between 13th and 25th.
Jacob (Atlanta)
Better shot of an average guy making it on vacation? miami or LA
Colin (1:19 PM)
Miami. It's looser and cheaper.
Sean (TX)
Is Adrian Peterson really overrated? How can you rush for 296 in a game and be overrated?
Colin (1:19 PM)
He's great, but often hurt. HOw good is a guy when he's only available 80% of the time. No matter how good of a salesman you are, if you're only available four days a week, it limits reliability.
Al Davis (Oakland, CA)
Colin - where am I?
Colin (1:20 PM)
The problem is we know where you're at -- running the Raiders in to the ground.
Max (Atlanta)
Will USC's schedule hurt them if they play an LSU, Florida, or OU in a bowl (NC)?
Colin (1:21 PM)
If USC runs the table, they're getting in. They are 16-1 vs. top ten teams. They've proven nobody plays better in a big game.
Chris (Omaha)
Better asset for a man, power or looks?
Colin (1:21 PM)
Decency.
Dustin (SC)
Should Romeo be asked to leave Cleveland?
Colin (1:21 PM)
Why do you have to ask him...can't you tell him?
Lane Kiffin (Oakland)
Colin - should i even bother coming to work today?
Colin (1:22 PM)
Hey Lane...Drive past the offices, keep going south and stop off at USC football offices. I'm sure they'd welcome you back.
James (Boston)
Colin, biggest pet peeve?
Colin (1:22 PM)
Cheap people. They're embarassing to be around.
David (St. Louis)
if USC was in the SEC, would they still be as good.
Colin (1:23 PM)
Why not? Auburn ran the table. LSU has run the table. Are you telling me Pete Carroll isn't as good as Tuberville or Les Miles?
Nick (Denver)
Colin, how many cups of coffee do you drink in a day? And how do you take it?
Colin (1:24 PM)
I drink two cups a day...both early. Sometimes I'll have an expresso late. A little cream and half packet of splenda.
Max (Atlanta)
What are you working out today?
Colin (1:25 PM)
Mondays are my days off. I got RIPPED this weekend.
Jenny (Cleveland, OH)
I heard LeBron James is the cheapest human being alive and he does not tip at all when he goes out.
Colin (1:25 PM)
Scottie Pippen has the nickname, "No Tippin Pippen." Maybe it's an NBA thing.
Mike (Midland, MI)
What kind of car do you drive?
Colin (1:25 PM)
LandRover.
Eric (Out West)
Do you think the problem with the PAC 10 is a recruiting problem?
Colin (1:26 PM)
It's a committment problem. Athletic departments aren't that committed. Rick Neuheisel makes only a million a year in a very expensive city. Most SEC coaches make 3-4 million a year in much cheaper places to live. Plus, they pay their assistants better. To be committed in business, you have to be committed financially.
Jenna Jameson (Sin city)
Hey Colin, would you go out with me?
Colin (1:27 PM)
I'll pass, Jenna.
Jason (Nebraska)
What ever happened to the person that won the V. Foundation acution to come to your show? Have the came yet, or did they realize that it would be better to stay home?
Colin (1:27 PM)
They came last week and we had a great time meeting them.
Tom (Minnesota)
Why doesn't ESPN cover much UFC?
Colin (1:28 PM)
They cover more than they used to. It's a very violent sport and some people here aren't comfortable with the level of violence. Since the UFC has toned down their violence, they've gotten more attention.
Matthew (Columbus)
colin where is the coolest place you have ever done a show
Colin (1:29 PM)
I prefer doing them from a studio...it just sounds better on the air.
Gus (Tampa)
Colin, in your opinion where are great retirement cities?
Colin (1:29 PM)
Colorado has a few, Sante Fe, NM, college towns are great because they are young and active. Don't retire somewhere where you're surrounded by old people because you'll just feel older than you already are.
Ryan (Portland, OR)
favorite golf club in your bag?
Colin (1:30 PM)
7 iron and sand wedge.
Chris (Omaha)
The fans of your show like the chat segments, do you enjoy them, even a little bit?
Colin (1:30 PM)
Absolutely, or I wouldn't do them.
Justin (Arlington, VA)
What's your IQ?
Colin (1:31 PM)
Lower than Bill Gates but respectable.
Colin (1:31 PM)
One more question.
Bill (Virginia Beach)
Business lunch: PF changs, Cheesecake Factory, Ruth Chris or Applebees...
Colin (1:31 PM)
PF Changs. Can't go wrong there.
Donald Trump (New York)
I DEMAND AN ANSWER
Colin (1:32 PM)
You're fired.
Brian (Raleigh, NC)
Colin, I haven't done anything productive at work all day and it's 1:30pm...Should I be fired?
Colin (1:33 PM)
No, as long as you're listening to the Herd, at least it's quality screwing off.
Brandon (Louisiana)
Do you think LSU will win either against Florida or Georgia?
Colin (1:33 PM)
I don't like LSU's QB as much as the other two, but I love their athletes.
Colin (1:33 PM)
That's it for today...for real this time.
Amanda (1:33 PM)
Thanks guys for all the questions... same time next week.
