McCoy played a big part in Pitt's 26-21 upset of then-No. 10 South Florida in Week 6. McCoy piled up 142 rushing yards on 28 carries and two TDs. He also added 23 yards receiving. The win bumped Pitt into the top 25, reaching No. 24.
The 142 yards followed up a 149-yard performance in a 34-24 win over Syracuse. His 533 total rushing yards on the season ranks 20th in the country. His seven rushing TDs tie him for 17th. The Harrisburg, Penn. native rushed for over 1,300 yards as a freshman.

Of course. From all the great players that they have had and the great tradition, I really excited to play there later on this season.

It was crazy. I was looking at so many schools. I wanted to stay close to home and I felt comfortable with Coach Wannstedt and the entire Pitt staff.

I would give myself a B against South Florida and a C for the whole season.

I think the difference is this year we are finding ways to win close games and we are playing more as a team.
