Chris Low (1:07 PM)
I'm in the house and ready to go.
Russell (Greenville, SC)
Who do you have winning the UGA-LSU game? Do you think Florida would be better off with UGA winning or LSU?
Chris Low (1:10 PM)
After seeing LSU in the second half last Saturday, I've got the Tigers winning. I think Florida would be better off with LSU winning, too
Taylor, Gainesville
Even though the BCS dropped the Gators to number 10 do you still see them in the NC if they win out?
Chris Low (1:11 PM)
Yep, I think they would have a great chance. The best thing to happen to them would be for Bama to keep winning and then knock off an unbeaten or one-loss Bama team in the SEC title game.
Matt Newport news VA
Why is Georgia so good at putting together stellar drives, only to stall everytime they get into the redzone...am I the only one that thinks this will hurt against LSU, and UF?
Chris Low (1:12 PM)
Red zone is killing the Bulldogs right now. Go back and count all the points they've left on the field the last two weeks. That will catch up with them against LSU and Florida if they don't improve.
Robert, NYC
Is a one loss SEC worthy of jumping ahead of an undefeated Penn State team?
Chris Low (1:15 PM)
Boy that gets interesting. I think it could happen, but not sure it will. Which one-loss team is it? For instance, what if Florida wins out from here and really looks impressive with wins over Georgia, Fla State, Bama, etc. and only has that one 1-point loss to Ole Miss. I think the Gators in the scenario would be a good bet to play in the BCS game regardless of what Penn State does. We'll see.
Ken: Akron, OH
If an unbeaten Alabama team reaches the sec championship game and ends up loosing it, do you see them playing in the National Championship game? Thank You.
Chris Low (1:18 PM)
No, I can't see any scenario where the team losing the SEC title game plays for the BCS title.
Mat- Harvest, AL
How long before Ole Miss puts it together? They have only been a few mistakes away all year.
Chris Low (1:20 PM)
Tell me about it. Ole Miss is one of those teams you know is talented enough and good enough to play with anybody, but you just keep waiting for the Rebels to make that key mistake. They should be at least 5-2 right now.
David (Athens, GA)
Chris, seems like all your examples/scenarios for NCG revolves only around Florida... any love for anyone else?
Chris Low (1:22 PM)
Don't mean it to be that way. In fact, Georgia at No. 7 in BCS is probably in the best shape. Plus, the Dogs have the schedule that will get them extra mileage with the voters if they finish up 12-1 with the SEC title. I'd be stunned if Georgia's not in the BCS title game if the Bulldogs win out. So how's that? Of course, now they have to go do it.
Jimmy (Baton Rouge, LA)
did Fulmer save his job this weekend, or did he just delay the inevitable.
Chris Low (1:24 PM)
No, he still has work to do. Beating Alabama would be a lot more important to him than beating Miss. State.
Brad (South GA)
This Alabama team seems identical to the last national championship team in that they just keep winning, not convincingly, but winning with defense and running the football. Do you see them gettin to the NC game?
Chris Low (1:26 PM)
Good analogy, although the two defensive ends on that 92 team (Curry and Copeland) were unbelievable. Barker was smart and played within himself like JPW is doing this year, and it was a physical football team across the board like this one. I think that 92 team had more depth, though, and wasn't as young as this one.
Josh (Dallas, TX)
Enough about the SEC. What about the Big 12 South. Do you think it possible for Texas and Oklahoma to play in the NC game?
Ryan (Starkville, MS)
Do you think Croom's time is running out at MSU?
Chris Low (1:29 PM)
I've said repeatedly that MSU fans need to let Croom finish the job. He took over an impossible situation and has been such a class guy. That said, he has to realize how bad the Bulldogs are offensively now and address those problems. If he doesn't (or any coach doesn't), then you're probably not going to be around much longer.
Les Miles (Baton Rouge, LA)
Chris, do you think that the two-quarterback system will work for the long haul this year in the SEC?
Chris Low (1:30 PM)
LSU has done a good job of making it work. Also, Lee and Hatch have done a nice job buying into it. I can't say enough about Lee stepping up making the throws he did in the second half last Saturday, and then Hatch had the touchdown pass.
Jeff (Evans, GA)
What do you think is the biggest difference between last year's Georgia team and this year's? they pretty much have the same players, but I don't see the same spark.
Chris Low (1:33 PM)
The first thing that comes to mind is the injuries. Boling was the fourth LT for them this year. When you have that much shuffling on the OL, there are going to be rough spots in the offense. I also think they missed Southerland the first part of the season and are glad to have him back.
Jonathon(Starkville, MS)
What do you mean by finishing the job? Isnt 5 years enough time to consistently not get embarrassed?
Chris Low (1:34 PM)
Come on, they won eight games last year and won a bowl game, beat Bama and beat Auburn. It's not like they're coming off a four-win season. But, yes, he has to get things straightened out on offense or he will be in trouble.
Fred (BMT, TX)
Looking at how Arkansas is racking up yardage and points in the SEC, do you really think the SEC defenses are THAT good? Texas only allowed Arkansas 191 total yard and no offensive touchdowns.
Chris Low (1:36 PM)
A fair point. Arkansas did nothing against Texas' defense and put up some big numbers against two of the SEC's better defenses, Kentucky and Auburn the last two weeks. I guess the only way we're going to know if the Big 12 is that good offensively and the SEC is that good defensively is to see matchup of those two leagues in the BCS national championship game.
josh (los angeles)
why wont you answer the question about the chances of OU and Texas meeting again in the NC game. The RRR was a great game.
Chris Low (1:37 PM)
I'd love to see them play again, although everything would have to happen just right for that to be a possibility.
Zaid (Austin, TX)
If Alabama and Texas were to play on a neutral site, who do you see as having the edge and why?
Chris Low (1:39 PM)
Texas. Horns are balanced enough offensively to spread Bama out defensively, and I like McCoy against Bama's secondary.
Sarah (Heflin, AL)
Why do you think Alabama does not compete as well in the second half?
Chris Low (1:41 PM)
I don't think it's an intensity thing. Bama has played so well in the first half of games and is so ready to play to begin the game that maybe there's an emotional drop-off coming out of halftime. But they have to start finishing games better if they're going to keep this run going.
Bard (gainesville, FL)
Chris, in order, what are your Top 3 offenses and top 3 defenses in the SEC right now? Thanks.
Chris Low (1:47 PM)
Top 3 offenses: 1. Florida 2. Georgia 3. Alabama Top 3 defenses: 1. Alabama 2. South Carolina 3. Florida
Rupert -Atl
Chris - curious for your take on this - suddenly Florida is the media darling/darkhorse for the Title, but Bama just beat the same team that beat Florida a couple weeks ago. Shouldn't UA get a bit more respect?
Chris Low (1:49 PM)
Bama's the only team in the SEC to have beaten two Top 10 teams, so they deserve all the respect they're getting and then some.
justin (lex, ky)
Chris, where's the love for UK's defense? Do we have a chance at slowing down Tebow and the Gator's this week and pulling an "Ole Miss"?
Chris Low (1:51 PM)
I haven't forgotten about the Cats, but they did give up nearly 200 yards rushing to Michael Smith. As for Florida, I think the Gators are playing a lot better now on offense than they were when Ole Miss beat them.
Buckley (TN)
Duke is better. Obviously, so is Vandy. Can the Dores get their sixth win at home against old rival Cutcliffe?
Chris Low (1:52 PM)
Cutcliffe has done a super job with Duke, but I have Vanderbilt getting its sixth win and becoming bowl eligible this weekend. I don't think it will be the Commodores' last win of the season, either.
Slavko (Dallas, TX)
given you have nice history in Knoxville, what do you exect this saturday there? Roll Tide.
Chris Low (1:55 PM)
A Bama win, The Tide is way too physical for Tennessee, which hasn't shown it can move the ball consistently enough on offense to win this game.
Chris (Baton Rouge, La)
Where do you see LSU in the National Championship discussion if they manage to win out this season, including a victory over Florida in the SEC Championship?
Chris Low (1:59 PM)
The Tigers (13th) have a lot of ground to make up, but I think there are opportunities out there for them to move up. For instance, winning over Georgia and Bama in the next few weeks would bump the Tigers way up. They need Bama to still be unbeaten and ranked No. 2 when they play them. Then, they could get more mileage by beating a Florida team ranked No. 2 or 3 in the SEC title game. So it's possible if the Tigers keep winning.
Andy (Cedar Rapids, Ia)
Will the winner of OSU Penn st. win the big ten? and if so who wins that game?
Chris Low (2:00 PM)
I'm going with the Buckeyes in this one.
Brent (Atlanta)
If Cody is hurt for the rest of the season, or at least not as effective, how damaging is this to Alabama? If they were to meet up with UGA again in Atlanta, would his loss change the outcome?
Chris Low (2:00 PM)
He'll be back for the LSU game. You can mark that down.
Brian (Columbus)
Could anything be more pointless than a whole chat dedicated to the SEC?
Chris Low (2:01 PM)
What could it be about the SEC that everyone in Columbus hates that league so badly?
Josh (Montgomery, AL)
Your thoughts on Thursday's game, AU v. WVU?
Chris Low (2:03 PM)
I don't have a lot of faith that Auburn can beat anybody playing the way it has offensively
Chris Low (2:04 PM)
Thanks everybody. Lot of fun as usual. We'll do it again next week.
