Tim Graham (3:01 PM)
Hello, everybody. It's a dreary day in Davie, Fla. I'm fresh out of the Dolphins locker room here at their facility and ready to chat.
Dolphin Run Defense (Miami, FL)
Hey, Tim, it's been a few weeks! I heard I may get Jason Ferguson back this week. Any Truth to this? I need to do something about this Lynch guy.
Tim Graham (3:03 PM)
Ferguson practiced today, but his status is uncertain. He's such a veteran, he can get by with missing practice and be ready for the game. But we won't find out how effective he'll be with that rib injury until Sunday afternoon ... if he plays.
Trevor, NY
Tim,Would you now consider the Patriots to be once again AFC East favorites, considering their absolute drubbing of the 1st place Denver Broncos?
Tim Graham (3:03 PM)
What Monday night proved to me is that the Broncos are overrated. The Patriots won the game, but lost Rodney Harrison and Sammy Morris. The Patriots still have a long road ahead of them.
Jay (Middletown, CT)
Tim, I seriously need your help! Im a Broncos fan who went to the Monday night game against NE. Unfortunatley I showed up and the Broncos didnt. I was relagated to watching the Patriots beat down on a High School team because Denver failed to board the plane to New England. How do I recoup my money spent on this fiasco???
Tim Graham (3:04 PM)
Invest in the stock market.
Joe (Miami, FL)
Hey Tim, You see the Dolphins being contenders in the AFC East?
Tim Graham (3:04 PM)
The Dolphins are running out of time to show it, but Sunday couldn't offer a better opportunity than the Bills. The Dolphins are falling farther and farther in the standings, but a win on Sunday would mix things up.
Tj Turner(Rochester)
What are the chances Trent Edwards wins the MVP? Hes got a good shot don't you think? And who do you think the Bills should take in the next draft? Im thinking and offensive lineman or outside linebacker??? Tell me what you think, thanks.
Tim Graham (3:06 PM)
While he's Buffalo's MVP and the Bills very well could do great things this year, he will be hurt in MVP consideration because his stats aren't gaudy enough. He's a leader, but he doesn't throw enough touchdowns.
Tim Graham (3:06 PM)
Linebacker and O-line are the two positions the Bills need to work on for the future.
Adam Jones (Location Unknown)
Tim, very important question....South Beach or Las Vegas?
Tim Graham (3:07 PM)
Las Vegas. Not even a choice.
dan giaco, buffalo
Tim what makes trent edwards so great?
Tim Graham (3:07 PM)
The speed at which he can recognize a defense and go through his reads.
Roy (Miami)
So you think there will be more dolphins or bills fans at the game on sunday?
Tim Graham (3:08 PM)
It has been ugly down here in terms of attendance. The Ravens fans were louder than the Dolfans last Sunday. I think the Bills will have plenty of support.
Ricky Williams (Miami, FL)
Hey Tim, will I have a breakout game anytime soon here?
Tim Graham (3:08 PM)
It wouldn't appear to be in the game plan.
Pierre (stl)
Projected stats from Thomas Jones on Sunday?
Tim Graham (3:09 PM)
We have fantasy freaks who do that stuff. I'll leave it up to them.
Ed, NJ
Tim, how much did the Jets disappoint you on Sunday?
Tim Graham (3:10 PM)
They didn't disappoint me one bit. I can honestly say I don't care who wins or loses, only that the stories are interesting. That said, I did expect the Jets to beat the Raiders.
Ogre (Adams College)
Fantasy football is for NERDS!
Tim Graham (3:10 PM)
Booger plays fantasy football.
Phil, Oh
How would you rate Favre's season so far?
Tim Graham (3:10 PM)
Compared to his peers, above average.
Jon (Buffalo)
Hey Tim, I disagree. I def. think Ricky Williams will break out.
Tim Graham (3:11 PM)
You're on record.
Bobby Corp, NYC
Tim, which is more likely: McCain winning the Presidency or the Bills winning the AFC East??
Tim Graham (3:11 PM)
As somebody who has lived in Ohio and Florida, I'm not about to predict anything when it comes to the election.
Vic (Kailua, HI)
After last week's performance against the Ravens, is the Wildcat officially over?
Tim Graham (3:12 PM)
I think the Ravens' success against the Wildcat was based on the fact they have a flat-out awesome defense. I think the Bills will see some Wildcat on Sunday.
Bobby (Buffalo)
Why hasn't James Hardy been able to get more involved in the Bills passing game?
Tim Graham (3:14 PM)
I'm not sure. I thought he would've made more of an impact by now. His preseason injury stunted his development, but he's a rookie. He'll get more involved.
Tim (Boise)
I hear a lot about Ryan Torain being compared to Terrell Davis, any insight on that?
Tim Graham (3:15 PM)
I know that Mike Shanahan loves Torain, and based on Selvin Young's injury and the fact Andre Hall fumbled two times on two touches Monday night, Torain will get his carries.
Joey Porter (Miami, FL)
How many sacks will my front seven have against the Bills, Tim? I say 5.
Tim Graham (3:16 PM)
That would be remarkable. Two or three sounds more accurate.
Jon (Buffalo)
Tim, I'm going to Vegas in March for the NCAA tournament. Give me your top 5 sports books and top 5 casinos - giving precedence to those with good drink service and cheap tables, of course.
Tim Graham (3:17 PM)
So much has changed since I moved, and sports book are commonly rearranged in the casinos. My favorites though are Imperial Palace for the props (no frills), the Mirage and MGM.My favorite casinos are the Mandalay Bay, MGM and the Golden Nugget downtown.
Ryan (Boston)
You've mentioned that Edwards doesn't have gaudy stats, which is true, but why do you think that is? He's got a solid run game to open up the pass, a good O-Line (allegedly) and he's actually got some good receivers (see Lee Evans' new contract). Is it just his style to throw those intermediate routes, or do you think as time goes on he'll start to come out of his shell more?
Tim Graham (3:17 PM)
It's the way the Bills balance out their offense. Everybody does his part, and nobody is asked to do too much.
ernie (wash)
i got a question on how the chat goes...is it like first come first serve, or do you select what questions to answer?
Tim Graham (3:18 PM)
I select what to answer because the questions come in so fast. By the time I get done typing this, I will have received 35 more questions.
Matt, Buffalo NY
Will the Bills be able to win in the cold weather with there poor running game?
Tim Graham (3:19 PM)
Poor? I think your question is flawed.
Willbert (Mass)
Will Brady ever play again?
Tim Graham (3:20 PM)
I think it's as close to a near-certainty as anything in football. Whether he can regain his Hall of Fame form is the real question. I'm not so sure about that.
JP
What are the odds I pull a Nancy Carrigan on Trent?
Tim Graham (3:20 PM)
Not good because you would be the only suspect in a 150-mile radius.
Steve (St. Catherines)
Yes or no. Will the Bills be 8-1 heading into their Monday Night game with Cleveland?
Tim Graham (3:22 PM)
I say no. With three divisional games in a row, there's enough talent in the AFC East that any of those teams can zap Buffalo between now and then.
Bill (Pomona, California)
Hi Tim, how about a Jets question. Are their problems due to lack of talent, or coaching? (Combination)? If coaching, is Mangini at fault, or the O/D coordinators? Thanks.
Tim Graham (3:24 PM)
I'd love a Jets question ... The Jets have plenty of talent, and their acquisitions are playing well. I think the early season losses could be chalked up to a new quarterback learning a new system and the coaching staff figuring out how to use him. From now on, though, it falls on the coaches.
ron (san jose)
what is the status of the jets WR's going into sunday's game?
Tim Graham (3:25 PM)
I haven't seen the report yet, but it's e-mailed to me as soon as the Jets release it. If it comes in during the chat, I'll let you know.
Javon Walker
Tim, it was YOU who knocked me out in Vegas wasnt it?
Tim Graham (3:25 PM)
I was nowhere near Las Vegas that night ... unfortunately.
Meg Griffin (Ignored)
Crunch N Munch or Cracker Jack?
Tim Graham (3:26 PM)
Fiddle Faddle
Jonathan, N.O.
what do u think will happen with Roger Goodell's decision on the 15 players including Deuce McA, Will Smith, and Warrick Dunn, Dwan Landry and others...?
Tim Graham (3:27 PM)
I have no clue. We've debated a lot of upcoming Goodell verdicts and have been surprised on a few. But I think it's funny this morning Goodell said he was tired of talking about Pacman Jones. Well, guess what ... Now he can talk about steroids for the rest of the year.
Bills
You say we will not go 8-1. What team are we gona loose to?
Tim Graham (3:28 PM)
I think it's a useless endeavor to go down a schedule and pick wins and losses. I just see a stretch of three divisional games and think the odds are they'll lose one.
Tom Brady
Is my--and the Patriots--dominance of the league officially over?
Tim Graham (3:29 PM)
It has been for a few weeks.
dolphins jets patriots(Miami, NY, Foxborough)
Has Buffalo ever heard of us?
Tim Graham (3:29 PM)
They haven't played you yet.
Pac Man A.K.A Adam
Yo T-Money, you eva make it rain in da clubs? Good times man, good times!
Tim Graham (3:30 PM)
I've never made it rain. But I have drizzled once or twice.
Evil Monkey (Closet, NH)
What is the worst Halloween candy to give/receive?
Tim Graham (3:30 PM)
Candy corn ... or pennies.
Tim Graham (3:30 PM)
Or those orange circus peanuts.
Roger Goodell (NYC)
I see Pacman's been hanging around your chat. Aiding and abetting the enemy, eh Mr. Graham? I'll talk about steroids. Ask me anything.
Tim Graham (3:31 PM)
Society should be thankful I'm giving him something constructive to do.
Giselle, Boston
Will Trent Edwards become more famous than Tom Brady? Just planning for the future.
Tim Graham (3:31 PM)
I don't think that's possible. Brady is in that ultra-rare category with Tiger Woods and Andre Agassi. He's a sporting icon.
Matt (Lexington, KY)
Who do you have the Ohio State Buckeyes or Penn State
Tim Graham (3:32 PM)
With the trouble Penn State had early against Michigan, I'm not sure ... I'm going to steer clear of this one.
Matt
I know I'm late with this, but I just found out about Joe Ferguson's health problems. Have you heard anything?
Tim Graham (3:33 PM)
Not for a couple weeks. I spoke to Joe DeLamielleure earlier this month, and he said Joe Ferguson was in good spirits.
Raleigh (Buf)
We really wish we still had you at the News up here. Jerry Sullivan is killing me.
Tim Graham (3:34 PM)
I'd call 911. I think murder is illegal.
Zeek,zoop. OH
Tom Brady is nowhere near an icon, he had a good offensive line his whole career and hes overrated.
Tim Graham (3:35 PM)
Football performance our your perceptions of complementary parts don't determine who becomes an icon just like singing talent didn't determine whether Bob Dylan was a voice of a generation. Tom Brady absolutely is a sports icon.
Tim Graham (3:36 PM)
And Brady essentially had the same offensive line last year that is giving up sacks left and right this year.
Xander (Philly)
Can I just say that I hate Tom Brady cause I'm a Bills fan, but Zeek is as dumb as his name if he believes that.
Raleigh (Buf)
For all of the grief given Jason Peters over his performance the first few weeks, is it safe to say he has returned to pro bowl caliber?
Tim Graham (3:37 PM)
No. Pro Bowl caliber is defined by consistency. Let's see him for a few more weeks.
Scott (NY)
TG- Talk about how great of a job Dick Jauron and Co. has done getting this team prepared and focused. I haven't seen a Bills team this disciplined and united in many, many years!!!
Tim Graham (3:38 PM)
A lot of people ask me about Trent Edwards being an MVP candidate. As far as I'm concerned, the award that looks most deserved is Dick Jauron for coach of the year (so far).
Tony (Montana)
Do you get a lot of autographs, or do you keep it business
Tim Graham (3:39 PM)
No autographs. I did collect them as a kid though. The last time I got an autograph was Muhammad Ali in 1995 for an office display piece above my desk. I paid for it and waited in line with everyone else.
Tino TFB (East Aurora, NY)
Nah Tim, I have to agree with Zeek Zoop. Brady is over-rated. I've also heard some unconfirmed reports that you are also overrated Tim Graham.
Tim Graham (3:40 PM)
Those reports have been confirmed by multiple sources.
Dave (Denver)
Comparing Brady to Tiger? Tiger is a once in a life time talent. Brady, while being very good, is this decade's talent at QB. Tiger changed the game; Brady proved he is the latest perfect system QB.
Tim Graham (3:41 PM)
You're missing the point or don't understand the concept of being an icon. Andre Agassi didn't change the game of tennis, but he's an icon. It's about crossover appeal to the point non-football fans still see him as the face of football.
Jay Cutler (Santa Claus)
Hey Tim, after last monday's game... am I still in your team?
Tim Graham (3:42 PM)
We had this discussion last week. I was asked to pick between Cutler and Edwards. I went with Edwards.
Clocko, NYC
Tim you're a phony. your thoughts?
Tim Graham (3:43 PM)
You pretty much summed it up. Nothing to add, really ...
Dave (NY)
Hey TG, how much do you think Marcus Stroud has made a difference this season for the Bills? He hasn't put up great stats but I think he's had a big impact.
Tim Graham (3:44 PM)
He makes everybody on the field behind him better. He commands double teams, which free up the linebackers to make more plays. He has been a valuable addition.
Scott (NY)
TG - Do we resign Roscoe Parrish, Angelo Crowell and Jabari Greer?
Tim Graham (3:45 PM)
Parrish and Greer, I believe so. Crowell is as good as gone. That bridge is rather charred.
ZJ C-Town, OH
JFK is an American Icon, you are comparing Brady to a man like JFK? Tim, thats just nonsense.
Tim Graham (3:45 PM)
What's nonsense is your analogy. Jesus Christ is a religious icon. Are you comparing JFK to Jesus? Didn't think so. I called Brady a sports icon.
Tim Graham (Las Vegas)
I have a soft 15 and the dealer has a 9 showing, should I hit or stay?
Tim Graham (3:46 PM)
You always hit any soft 15, and in many cases double down.
BUFFALO THE CITY
TIM YOUR SIDE PART IS WEAK!
Tim Graham (3:47 PM)
I like to call it my inner harbor.
Tim Graham (3:47 PM)
(Buffalo joke, sorry)
Tom P
Tim, please do not say Icon and Jesus in the same sentance. You are being sacreligious! Your thoughts?
Tim Graham (3:49 PM)
Nothing to add, but if you think I am, I've posted your comment for others to see.
Brian Moorman
Tim, could I take you in a fight?
Tim Graham (3:49 PM)
I would assume so. On pure cardio alone. I couldn't go more than 30 seconds without needing a break.
Xander (Philly)
Duffs or Anchor Bar wings?
Tim Graham (3:50 PM)
Duff's. Not. Even. Close.Anchor Bar is the most overrated restaurant in Western New York.
BILLSSLAM23
TIM YOUR ARTICLE CALLED AFC DJ IS SO CORNY! WHY DO YOU CVONTINUE THIS DEBAUCHERY.
Tim Graham (3:51 PM)
I'm thinking about knocking that off. Sometimes you need to try new things.
Bob, Buffalo
Tim, Will Edwards (eventually) be a bigger Buffalo Icon than Jim (Machine Gun) Kelly?
Tim Graham (3:51 PM)
Only if Edwards wins a Super Bowl.
Brad(NM)
Brady hasn't really done anything more spectacular than Troy Aikman did. Is Troy an "icon" too?
Tim Graham (3:53 PM)
Why is the concept of icon so hard to understand? Icon has to do with things like marketability and Q-ratings and celebrity status. Brady is on the cover of GQ and Esquire. That's Joe Montanta-type exposure.
Brian
Troy is a concussion icon
egami (iowa)
'Anchor Bar is the most overrated restaurant in the WORLD*'*FixedGlad to know, I visited there and felt bad because I was pretty critical of it and everyone was raving about it.
Bobby (Buffalo)
Is Jabari Greer the best coverage corner in the division?
Tim Graham (3:54 PM)
Darrelle Revis and Will Allen have looked the best to me.
Brian (Orlando, FL)
Tim, whatever you do, DO NOT discontinue AFC DJ - it always makes me laugh.
Tim Graham (3:55 PM)
I'm not sure if I'm bringing it back, but we'll see. It might seem like a throwaway item, but it takes a lot of time to do. And the response has been lukewarm.
Tim Graham (3:56 PM)
But thanks for saying that.
Dan (buffalo)
I know Duff's wings are superior but that's no reason to be so harsh to the place that gave us wings. Don't you have and apology to Anchor Bar?
Tim Graham (3:57 PM)
Sorry. That's the way I feel. And I know dozens of people who've come to Buffalo looking forward to eating at the Anchor Bar only to leave disappointed. It's not bad, but it's not all that. I can think of 10 places in Buffalo I'd rather have wings.
Jessica Simpson
would Tomy Romo be a sports icon?
Tim Graham (3:59 PM)
Not yet, but he could be. And crossover stuff into mainstream entertainment is a big thing. So dating you helps.
Bob, Buffalo
Everyone knows that The Gate has far superior wings than Duffs
Tim Graham (3:59 PM)
I disagree, but Gabriel's Gate is in my top three.
Chuck T, Maine
Tim back to football. Do the Fins have any chance at all against the bills this week?
Tim Graham (4:00 PM)
Sure they do. Unlike last year, they go into every game with a legitimate chance to win. They can beat anybody.
ChrisAgain Orlando
Tim, I read the AFC east blog, its good. But why in these chats do you choose to answer the dumb, mindless questions that are not related to the AFC? I'm sure you get alot of duplicate questions, but i've asked valid questions 3 weeks now.. and you choose to answer multiple questions about wings and things.. stick to the AFC east, and the dolphins.
Tim Graham (4:01 PM)
Because people come on here for a diversion. And look, I just called on your comment. But I don't see a question. I guess you missed your opportunity.
Jessica Simpson
He's already an icon. He leads baseball in 3 point shots from the blue line!
Tim Graham (4:01 PM)
Good one ...
Giaco
Tim, the dolphins can beat ANYBODY? Have you been smoking before the chat again?
Tim Graham (4:02 PM)
They've already beaten two of the best teams in the AFC.
TK (brooklyn)
Hey Tim, isnt winning the MVP supposed to be more about how valuable you are to a team rather than gaudy numbers? Isnt that was the Offensive Player of the Year award is for??
Tim Graham (4:02 PM)
Technically, the NFL doesn't have an MVP Award.
Electricity (Orchard Park, NY)
I missed most of last weeks game, what are the chances I don't make it to the MNF game against the Browns?
Tim Graham (4:03 PM)
It's not like there's a power source anywhere in the Buffalo area.
Matt(Sacramento)
Hey Tim, how bad is Miami's secondary situation this week? How bad are my boys Lee and Trent going to mess them up?
Tim Graham (4:04 PM)
The Dolphins placed Michael Lehan on IR today and signed Joey Thomas. Jason Allen is making a move from safety to corner. So they're in a transitional phase. Could be a big week for Lee Evans, but cornerback Will Allen is playing extremely well.
DC
Who was the best draft choice this year out of the AFC East thus far?
Tim Graham (4:05 PM)
That's a tough one to come up with on the spot. If not for injury it would have been Dolphins guard Donald Thomas in the sixth round. He became a starter.
Dave (Denver)
I think I understand what you mean by an Icon. And I know what I will have for dinner tonight - Wings... Thanks
Tim Graham (4:06 PM)
See? This chat is a resource for life.
Ed (Boston)
Um, Jerod Mayo?
Tim Graham (4:06 PM)
He's a first rounder. Those guys are supposed to be good.
Tim Graham (4:07 PM)
10th overall picks are supposed to play.
The Suits (Bristol)
Tim, we found these water pills in your desk today. Care to explain yourself?
Tim Graham (4:07 PM)
I was thirsty?
Jake Long (miami beach)
I am the best draft choice. I was the only obvious draft choice. and I went number one. Where have you been?
Tim Graham (4:08 PM)
Eh ... Maybe it's too soon, but I wonder if the Dolphins will regret not taking Matt Ryan.
Marshawn Lynch (Buffalo, NY)
Will I get 100+ yards this week?
Tim Graham (4:09 PM)
I'll say no. Its possible, but the Dolphins gave up only 105 yards to McGahee, who gashed them all day. The Dolphins have a pretty good run defense.
Paul Union Beach
Please tim...LANGFORD, just say it!
Ed (Boston)
Sure, tell it to Vernon Gholston
Jay (Middletown, CT)
Tim, your were an NHL writer, should Hartford bring back the WHALERS? I mean the Brass Bonanza alone was awesome!
Tim Graham (4:10 PM)
I just don't think Hartford is an NHL city. But I loved that arena.
Mike, Ohio
On a scale of 1 to 10, how funny is it when an announcers say "Marshawn Lynch just ran over that guy"?
Tim Graham (4:10 PM)
I don't know, but your question made me laugh. Is that wrong?
Tim Graham (4:11 PM)
Time flies ...We're at 70 minutes and going strong ... Let's keep at it ...
Matt Schaub (Houston)
A good run defense? How come there was no one to be found when I scored on 4th down from the 2?
Tim Graham (4:12 PM)
Yeah, that one play is enough to discredit an entire unit after six games
Ryan (Boston)
Tim, The Sabres are currently #1 on ESPN power rankings, and the bills are #4. Two questions - Would the city burn down, and would anyone not from buffalo care?
Tim Graham (4:13 PM)
I think the city would burn down and the people IN Buffalo would not care.
Ronnie Brown (Miami)
Chance I will ever get 5 touchdowns in a game again?
Tim Graham (4:13 PM)
Nil.
Aaron (Binghamton)
Who is the better quarterback right now? Edwards or Favre?
Tim Graham (4:13 PM)
Edwards.
Dave (Denver)
Have to ask - With as much wrong with Miami would Matt Ryan have produced there like he has in Atlanta? I think they needed a Oline first to protect a QB.
Tim Graham (4:14 PM)
Probably not, but we're already finding out how good he is with some help.
Buffalo
Tim do you believe in curses??
Tim Graham (4:14 PM)
I don't. But I do believe in karma.
Tim Graham (4:15 PM)
Mark in Orchard Park ... Your e-mail made me laugh hard ... But I can't post that.
BUFFALO THE CITY
YOUR A JERK RYAN BOSTON ASKED THE SAME QUESTION AS ME AND YOU POSTED HIS.... YES IF WE WON THE CITY WOULD BURN AND THEN WED MARCH TO BOSTON AND BURN THEIRS
JIM, Birmingham
BILLS! SABRES! BILLS! SABRES! Do I have your attention now? Matt Ryan for Rookie of the Year, and his coach, Mike Smith, for Coach of the Year, even if they don't win another game, right?
Tim Graham (4:17 PM)
Ha! That's a good one, Jim. I see where you play on the fact there are a lot of Buffalo fans on an AFC East chat and then use it to ask a Falcons question. Savvy.
Miami, New York, New England
Why so many more Bills questions taken than the rest of the division? Do their fans care that much more?
Tim Graham (4:18 PM)
The Bills fans make this chat a destination every Friday. The other AFC East teams just don't show up. I have no control over that, but I know my number of comments in my queue are greater than most other chats on SportsNation.
ESPN (Bristol, CT)
Tim, get back to work!
Tim Graham (4:19 PM)
You're the one who put chats in my contract.
Paul Union Beach
im here every week tim now come on roy jones jr or joe calzaghe!??
Tim Graham (4:20 PM)
Calzaghe
Matt
I'm not even a fan of any of the AFC East teams, but I love this chat. It always makes for a great time every Friday.
Tim Graham (4:21 PM)
Thanks, Matt. I love doing these. If I come on here and answer nothing but fantasy questions or pick all the games for everybody's parlay sheets I would last about 15 minutes. Based on the traffic, people seem to enjoy this format. And I like it more, too.
Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame
Tim, if you were ever inducted, what piece of memoriablia would hang in the display at HSBC Arena?
Tim Graham (4:22 PM)
An empty bottle of game-used Zantac.
Brian (Dallas, TX)
If you make it until 4pm(CST), I get to leave work for a happy hour and not have done a single thing today.
Tim Graham (4:22 PM)
The American workforce at its best. I, for one, admire your spirit.
Milo Rooster (Bristol, RI)
Yo man like do you think the Pats have a chance of like doing their thing and winning the East man?
Tim Graham (4:24 PM)
They certainly have a shot. They're keeping it together despite a lot of adversity.
Tim Graham (4:24 PM)
Sorry for the delays guys. The Dolphins-Bills injury report was just handed out.
Tim Graham (4:25 PM)
Out for Miami: Lehan, CramerOut for Buffalo Brad Butler, John DiGiorgio, Aaron Schobel.
Dan Giaco, East Aurora
Tim, don't you find it funny that so many of us are at our dayjobs yet we still find the time to bombard you with questions?
Tim Graham (4:26 PM)
Thanks for justifying my job. I'm happy to provide a little escape for a while.
Hans Incognito
I recently found out where Trent Edwards lives. Tell me why I shouldn't knock on his door one of these days.
Tim Graham (4:26 PM)
I can't think of one good reason not to.
Nick Papagiorgio (Yuma, NM)
Whats the most money you've ever won in one night in vegas?
Tim Graham (4:27 PM)
I've never had a night like you, Nick. But I once won $2,600 on a single hand of poker at the Mandalay Bay.
JIM, Birmingham
What is this "J-O-B" you all speak of? Is it some kind of chicken wing?
Tim Graham (4:27 PM)
Jim ... Get over it.
Greg, NY
Your audibles were posted at 4PM. How was that possible since you were responding to questions?
Tim Graham (4:27 PM)
I wrote it last night.
Dick Juaron
would you say i show the emotions of a brick wall
Tim Graham (4:28 PM)
But not with all the warmth.
Brad(NM)
Is Matt Cassell any better than JP Losman?
Tim Graham (4:28 PM)
Great question ... Two different types of quarterbacks, but if I had to pick one over the other ... I don't know ...
Tim Graham (4:29 PM)
Closing in on 90 minutes ... I have a feeling we'll hit the 1,000-question barrier before I'm done.
Adrian Wilson (Glendale, AZ)
I know where Trent lives too!
Tim Graham (4:30 PM)
After that hit, you were the only one between the two of you who knew where Trent lived.
Nick (Bills, NY) :
tim im driving to my old college tonight and im thinking about drinking, hard, your thoughts?
Tim Graham (4:30 PM)
I will root for you. I've busted out my Go Nick foam finger.
Ryan (San Diego)
Man this chat is weak. All it is are buffalo fans with comical expectations like Trent Edwards for MVP. Team isn't even that good
Tim Graham (4:31 PM)
Thanks for the question.
JIM, Birmingham
Sorry, just trying to be funny (Apparently not working). What's the odds of the Ravens staying healthy enough to make it far into the playoffs?
Tim Graham (4:31 PM)
With that defense they can do some damage. But they need to survive the division. They'll need better quarterback play, too.
Brett Farve
There's not enough talk about me in this AFC East chat, do I need to pretend retire again or something?
Tim Graham (4:32 PM)
A win over Oakland would've helped.
Cynthia (Canton, MA)
Do you believe Brett talked to Milen or not?
Tim Graham (4:33 PM)
I believe they talked, but I don't believe it was unethical.
Bruce Smith
TIMMMY BOYYYYYYY how long until the bills are super bowl bound my predicition is 2 years they have a great young core who is only gaining valuable exerpience/confidence, do you see this happening? If so any chance of it being sooner??
Tim Graham (4:34 PM)
Why not this year? If everything breaks right and they get a first-round bye (very possible), anything can happen.
Tim Graham
why do you neglect me?
Tim Graham (4:34 PM)
I'm self-loathing. You should know that.
Matt Millen (No Longer in Detroit)
Tim, someone keeps calling me from a New Jersey area code. Any idea who it is?
Tim Graham (4:35 PM)
Answer the phone. It might be Bon Jovi. I hear he's looking for roadies.
Brady's Knee (CA)
Am I the MVP of the NFL this year?
Tim Graham (4:36 PM)
Depending on what happens with the Patriots, somebody could make a case Brady is the MVP this year. An avante garde selection, but an interesting one.
Ted Ginn Jr
Will I have any big games this year with Pennington throwing to me?
Tim Graham (4:37 PM)
I've seen you work with several quarterbacks. I'm not sure it will make a difference.
Cynthia (Canton, MA)
I can't believe I am going to root for the phins this weekend, but these Bills fans need to be put in their place. Pats are still the better team even with no Brady, Maroney and Harrison. Wait and watch the BB magic in December. So the phins are going to win right?
Tim Graham (4:38 PM)
If the Dolphins win, it would shake up the entire division.
zach university school
im going to the bills browns game should i be worried about rowdy fans
Tim Graham (4:39 PM)
Do. Not. Wear. Browns. Gear.
JV (Lancaster, NY)
Tim, I just saw Gibran Hamdan getting a Halloween costume on Main Street.
Tim Graham (4:39 PM)
Is he going as a caddy?
Barry Melrose (back in the NHL)
Tim, have you ever given thought to a mullet?
Tim Graham (4:39 PM)
I must admit I used to have one in high school.
NFL fans
"these Bills fans need to be put in their place"...THAT'S FUNNY!!! The Bills don't have any fans!
Tim Graham (4:40 PM)
Psst ... You might want to read the chat ...
Louie (Tampa)
Why is everyone counting out the Jets like they are 0-6 or something? they are 3-3, 4-3 after this week...and then a showdown with Buffalo could put them just one game back of the division lead. It's a little early to start anointing Buffalo and dismissing the Jets, isn't it?!?!
Tim Graham (4:41 PM)
It is early to dismiss the Jets, but their loss in Oakland took some steam off the upcoming Jets-Bills game. But that will be a huge matchup. The Jets are still very much in this.
Will Kager (Cary, NC)
Why sign Cory McIntire?
Tim Graham (4:42 PM)
It was more for special teams than what he can do as a blocker.
Byron Brown (Buffalo, NY)
Tim, Chippewa or Elmwood?
Tim Graham (4:42 PM)
Elmwood.
Matt Cassel
How many td's am I gonna thrown to Moss this weekend? And who is going to be running the ball for me?
Tim Graham (4:43 PM)
Looks like BanJarvus Green-Ellis and Kevin Faulk will handle the RB duties. LaMont Jordan is listed as doubtful.
Tom (NY)
To Cynthia and the rest of the bills haters. Not saying that the Bills are the better team, but when you have had a 10 year playoff drought and a lot of bad luck, this season has given fans something to be excited about. Think back 10 years ago before the Brady error, you were the same way!
Tim Graham (4:44 PM)
Tom makes a solid point.
NFL fans
"Psst ... You might want to read the chat ..." THIS ISN'T A CHAT!! This is a Bills "fantasy world" and "good chicken wing" locator! By the way, when does Jim Kelly open his "Kelly Wings with Beebe Sauce" Restaraunt???
Tim Graham (4:45 PM)
Oh, I'm sorry. Why don't you ask a question? Let's give NFL fans the floor ...
Donte Witner
Tim, I played free, strong, corner all in one game. I dont think people understand how hard that is. Probowl??
Tim Graham (4:46 PM)
While we wait for NFL fans to save the chat ... I do think you're making a strong case for the Pro Bowl.
NFL fans
Why is the league giving so many fines over petty things that make the game interesting and makes football
Tim Graham (4:49 PM)
Because the NFL is trying to get control of its players in every way imaginable. They are tired of the Michael Vicks and Pacman Joneses ruining things. I think it's a crackdown on needless aggression in hopes of restoring an image that's been battered both on and off the field.
Brian (Dallas, TX)
Much appreciated Tim, 3:50 is close enough for me, I'm out. Enjoyed your chat tremendously.
Tim Graham (4:50 PM)
Don't forget to take the Gunderson file home with you.
sam
nfl fans turned this into a lame chat. Thanks you whinny brat
Mrs Graham
Timothy you spend more time with that damn computer than me...
Tim Graham (4:51 PM)
That's true.
Larz, Holland, NY
Which broadcast pre-game show is the best?
Tim Graham (4:51 PM)
I can't say. I'm always at the stadium by the time they come on.
Trent Edwards (Buffalo)
What kind of stats would I have if I QB'd the patriots. How many wins would I post?
Tim Graham (4:52 PM)
The games the Patriots lost were blowouts, so I don't know how much impact you would've had. But I'm sure if the Bills wanted to trade Edwards for Cassel straight up the Patriots would trip over themselves to fax the paperwork.
Bobby (Pittsburgh)
hey tim, whats your favorite stadium?
Tim Graham (4:54 PM)
I look at it differently than fans because I base my opinion on the press box and the locker rooms. But if I were a fan, my favorite probably would be Cleveland or Philly. Those are nice buildings.
Chad
Ochenta Cinco en Miami? Si Si?
Tim Graham (4:55 PM)
I don't think Bill Parcells would put up with that circus.
MT
Tim list the top 5 Qbs in the AFC (brady included)
Tim Graham (4:58 PM)
I hate making lists because I always leave somebody off in my haste to hit the post button ... So (not in order) Brady, Edwards, Manning, Cutler, Roethlisberger
NFL fans
Well, I "tried" to "save" the chat, but you wouldn't answer my question...Sorry, but it takes a while to type a question that long!!
Tim Graham (4:58 PM)
I answered it about 10 minutes ago. Thanks for playing.
BUFFALO THE CITY
nfl fans sucks
Jimmy (AK)
Could Trent Edwards beat Chuck Norris in a thumb-wrestling match?
Tim Graham (4:59 PM)
Are they wearing gloves or any kind of finger-covering device?
Nick (Bills, NY) :
TIM, its a 2 hr drive, should i bring a roadie?
Tim Graham (5:00 PM)
Company policy prevents me from answering that question.
Tim Graham (5:01 PM)
We're at the two-hour mark and have taken 1,124 comments or questions (many of them printable)
Zach Johnson (Shaker Heights)
I'm thinking about being Superman dressed up as Chuck Norris for Halloween, your thoughts?
Tim Graham (5:01 PM)
With your Brett Favre pajamas underneath?
Vic (Kailua, HI)
What's the weather like up there? Its in the mid 80's with blue skies here.
Tim Graham (5:02 PM)
Same here. I'm in Florida. So stick it.
Dave (Denver)
Thanks for going for 2... Signed the Chargers.
Tim Graham (5:03 PM)
Well played.
Tim Graham (5:04 PM)
Looks like we've hit a wall. Unless there are any last-minute questions, I'm going to wrap this up.
Tom(Harrisburg PA)
Who throws a prettier deep ball than Trent Edwards.
Tim Graham (5:05 PM)
Warren Moon?
Pierre (stl)
TIM, WHAT IS THE STATUS OF LAVERNEOUS COLES!!!!!!!!
Tim Graham (5:06 PM)
I have the Jets injury report in my inbox. Let's see ...
Tim Graham (5:06 PM)
Probable
Mohammed Ali
I'm the prettiest of them all, Tim. The greatest of all-time.
Tim Graham (5:06 PM)
Yes, you are. But you forgot how to spell your first name.
Will Kager (cary, NC)
Do you think the bills have what it takes to make the playoffs, or will we have better success next season?
Tim Graham (5:07 PM)
They're in the playoffs barring a colossal implosion.
John McCargo
Tim, why doesn't anyone want me???
Tim Graham (5:08 PM)
Because you're content being above average.
Allen (South Bend)
What are your thoughts on Jeff S. the dude from ND that went into baseball instead?
Tim Graham (5:08 PM)
He was one of my favorite receivers to watch, and I wish he would have stayed with football.
Brian (Orlando, FL)
With the injury to Rodney Harrison, why in the world would the Patriots not give John Lynch a call?
Tim Graham (5:09 PM)
I'm guessing they didn't like what they saw of him in camp. The Broncos clearly didn't either. The fact nobody else has signed him indicates he's just not good enough anymore.
NFL fans
NOPE!!! Didn't see your response for my question about whether or not Favre would be viewed favorably or not by NYJ fans. Also, how do you, and your media buddies view him now? I looked over the entire chat, and I do not see an answer to that question. Did you recite the answer to yourself?
Tim Graham (5:10 PM)
Your question was about fines, which I answered. But I'll answer this one, too.
Tim Graham (5:11 PM)
Your last question was No. 1,187 of this chat. I can't read them all.
Tim Graham (5:12 PM)
But you need to ask a better question. How does the media view him in what way? As a person? As a quarterback? For his decision on coming out retirement? How he fits with the Jets? How his reputation has changed given his recent controversies?
NFL fans
Um....fines? I think you may have been looking at the wrong question. Mine was MUCH LONGER than that! It was about Favre being accepted by NYJ fans after his "Millen Gate" and "Pity-me" retirement actions. Will all be forgiven if he wins? Will it be magnified if he loses?
Tim Graham (5:13 PM)
Why would Jets fans care what Favre told Matt Millen? It was a 30-minute phone call according to Favre. The guy is allowed to have a personal life and contacts within the league who aren't Jets.
Tim Graham (5:13 PM)
Boy, glad we halted the chat for that one ...
Real NFL Fans (All Cities)
NFL fans, please go to the NFC East chat, you'll fit right in there.
BUFFALO THE CITY
nfl fans sucks tell him to go home! hes probably not even wasting time at work i bet hes a highschooler
Steve (Corning)
I think NFLfan was refering to hit not off field stuff, but I think that is pretty obvious answer to that question. With what happened to Kevin Everett, on a play where no one did anything wrong, it shows how serious things can get. Clearly the 'head hunters' need to be stopped and hitting them in the wallet is all they understand.
Walt (Auckland)
How good are the Pats Mayo and Merriweather? Are they enough to offset the rapidly aging linebackers?
Tim Graham (5:15 PM)
Maybe not this year to a high degree, but they're both integral to the future of the defense. They are core players.
KV from IL
Wow, this chat just took an unexpected turn.
Tim Graham (5:16 PM)
Somebody just picked up a trident
Pat (Boston)
Assuming that Brady comes back as a reasonable facsimile of the 2007 version, will the Pats return to top tier of NFL in 09 or will they be too old by then?
Tim Graham (5:17 PM)
They won't necessarily be too old, but the team simply will be different. How many guys retire? Leave via free agency? Injuries? Cut? Teams can be kept together for only so long.
nicholas tarantino
tim, i want to thank you, this week was great, i used some alias, threw some smack at you, you handle it very comically and wasted my whole afternoon...you are a saint this week
Tim Graham (5:18 PM)
I hope you're not in the Buffalo phone book.Seriously, thanks for dropping by.
Nick (Boca Raton, FL)
Why is it that Randy Moss can't win a Super Bowl when he was on the 2 highest scoring teams of all time?
Tim Graham (5:19 PM)
That's not his fault. They should have won it last year.
Tom(Harrisburg, PA)
Do you see any team in the afc east picking losman up as a free agent? The Jets will need someone to replace Favre eventually or maybe the pats as a backup to Tom Brady? I think Losman could be a decent qb in the league if had a halfway decent o-cordinator he wasnt horrible in the arizona game(minus the 2 fumbles)
Tim Graham (5:20 PM)
I think the Jets are satisfied with Clemens for the future. The Dolphins have their guy in Henne. Who know what will happen with the Patriots? Cassel is a free agent after this year.
Sean (Boston)
Is the problem with the Pats giving up so many sacks due to the O-Line or Cassel?
Tim Graham (5:21 PM)
I think the difference is Cassel taking a little longer to make decisions. I did a blog on that last night, breaking down the number of sacks compared to last year while pointing out the number of times Brady was hit (a lot). Those hits are turning into sacks.
Jasmine ;-)
Fort Erie or Clifton Hill?
Tim Graham (5:23 PM)
Well, ummm ... I don't know what you're talking about. Or do I?
Alex, Salt Lake City
Tim,With all of the secondary issues the Dolphins have had, why haven't they signed a veteran or two to bolster the unit? I saw they brough in Fernando Bryant for a workout but didn't sign him. What's up with that?
Tim Graham (5:25 PM)
I'm not sure what the issue is with Bryant. He was New England's starter throughout camp and the preseason. He does have a reputation for being injury-prone, but at this point in the season I would think he's worth a shot -- unless he's asking for too much money.
mt
Jason Campbell or Trent Edwards to build a franchise?
Tim Graham (5:25 PM)
Trent Edwards.
Hater (outside Beantown)
Tim - Why does it feel so good to hate Boston and wish nothing but sorrow on Boston fans? It is a nice city, I enjoyed visiting, until this recent run of multisport success made me hate them like Fonzie hated the Malachi brothers after they jacked up Pinky Toscadero
Tim Graham (5:25 PM)
Great Happy Days reference. ...
JIM, Birmingham
Where did T. Edwards go to school?
Tim Graham (5:26 PM)
Stanford
Lori (Port Allegany, PA)
Jets satisfied with Clemens? That's their mistake. And McCargo "above average"? When did he get better?
Tim Graham (5:26 PM)
A touche twofer
Ryan (Boston)
How bad is the injury to Schobel? And is there any update on Morris?
Tim Graham (5:28 PM)
Not sure how bad Schobel's injury is, but he's out for Sunday. Sammy Morris is doubtful.
Terrell Suggs
Tim, i have a $10 bounty on you. Have a nice day :)
Tim Graham (5:28 PM)
My stock is rising.
Tim Graham (5:29 PM)
OK, guys. I have to roll. As always, I had fun. See you again next Friday.
