Ken Moll (4:00 PM)
Fella's filling in for Jeremy today and getting ready for another great weekend of BALL! Let's get going.
John (Fort Myers, FL)
Alright I'm going to put you on the spot right away. The biggest game this weekend is obviously the Giants-Steelers. So who ya got??
Ken Moll (4:02 PM)
John, This is going to be a great match up this weekend but it appears the Steelers are really short handed. Very tough to predict this one but I think I'll go with the steelers a sthey will find a way to win at home.
james (columbus)
Being a scout and not just some fancy fantasy football writer, how do you see Peyton Manning performing against the Titans on Monday? What do you think about the Colts move of Reggie Wayne to the slot? I personally think its genius.
Ken Moll (4:06 PM)
Peyton will have to have a big day for the Colts to have a chance to win on the road. With the backfield being so banged up Its' and the Titans being so stingyvs. the run it's tough for the Colts to be a balanced offensive attack. Don't see Peyton having a bad day but it will be under diress much of the game. Wayne in the slot may be a good idea to create match up problems for the Titans but Indy has to worry about thier defense more than anything else.
Matt (NJ)
Going to a Big East school I saw Harry Douglas a lot when he was with Louisville. Watching him I was always saying to myself this guys got the size and speed to be a star in the NFL. What kind of WR do you see Douglas as in the near future?
Ken Moll (4:09 PM)
Matt, I am living in L'ville and went to college there so I know Douglas very well. They like him in Atlanta as slot receiver. I believe the will have a very solid career but not sure if he'll become a number one receiver in the Falcons offense. Love his hands, courage and concentration.
Brad(NM)
Hey Ken..is this your first chat of the season..I haven't seen you around until now...do you think Buffalo takes the momentum of winning a big game last week into Miami and wins?
Ken Moll (4:10 PM)
Brad, I chat often on Sunday and Mondays. Taking over for JG today. Dick Jauron is an excellent coach and will have him tesm well prepared vs. the Fins. Yes, the Bills are for real in 2008.
christian (LA)
who is better bullben wise. tampa bay or phillies?
Ken Moll (4:12 PM)
Christian, Phillies have the best Bull pen and the Ray have the best starting pitching.
Marc (city of brotherly love)
Happy Green Day!!! Wait a minute what happened to our Green Nation Leader? Alright Mr. Moll you have big shoes to fill. Which coach is the next to go?
Ken Moll (4:14 PM)
Marc, There are few that are on the hot seat but I would have to say herm Edwards with the Chiefs. Herm is 1 and 5 thus far and lost there first two QB's . The future doesn't look bright for this traditional excellent franchise. Edwards lost hi only post season appearance (at home) and it just hasn't worked out well for Herm. It is certainly a good man but might be moving on soon.
Matt
A Louisville guy, eh? Couple of questions: What kind of career do you see Brian Brohm having and do you think Hunter Cantwell can make it in the NFL?
Ken Moll (4:18 PM)
Matt, I have watched Brohm since he was a freshman in H.S. - He has talent and should be able to develop into a solid QB in the league but wouldn't expect him to be special. It's a bit dissapointing that he is currently third team but let's see what happens in the next couple of years. Hunter has a big arm but has some mechanical flaws and has been inconsistent with his accuracy. he has talent but his stock has dropped since entering the fall.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Mr. Moll: I know he threw four picks last week but do you think the Vikings' offense might be getting better with Gus at the helm and him now finding Bernard Berrian regularly? It seems like AP has much more room to run since Gus took over.
Ken Moll (4:23 PM)
J.B. I do see the Vikings making progress on offense with Frerotte hooking up with Berrianmor often. Bernard caught three balls in the first two games and avergages five per game with huge yard per reception numbers since Frerotte took the reins. Your right abour A.P. getting ,more room and this will continue with a more balanced offensive attack. I would be a bit concerned about the Defense giving up so many points last weekend but yoy have reason to be optimistic..
Rick Pitino (Louisville)
Should I bring back the white suit this year?
Ken Moll (4:24 PM)
Yes, Rick DO it !!
Marc (city of brotherly love)
Mr Moll Phillies or Rays?
Ken Moll (4:24 PM)
Rays in seven !
Paulie (Slippery Rock , PA)
When is it time for the Browns to make a QB change? There has only been one game in which DA looked like a starting NFL QB. Why don't the Browns just give Quinn a chance? What's the worst that could happen?
Ken Moll (4:26 PM)
Paulie, I believe that D.A. was on a short rope the week of the Giants match up and with his great performance on Monday night he saved himself for a couple of more weeks. Hard to say when they will make the change but the Browns are paying both signal callers a bunch of $
Mike (D)
Will it happen, will the Lions go 0-16?
Ken Moll (4:30 PM)
Mike, It's tough to go 0-16 but the Lions might be able to pull it off. With so much goin on in the front office and decension on the team it's a possiblity. I don't see it happening as some club will slip up and they'll mark up a win.
Anthony (NYC)
Hey Ken with the Chiefs in a rebuilding phase & so much youth on the team, with Herm staying on doesn't that buy him say a year reprive, at least a chance to coach them up?
Ken Moll (4:31 PM)
Anthony, As I said Herm is a good man but if things don't turn around (some) I don't see him coaching 'em up next year.
Dave, LV
What's your take on all of the staph infections? Obviously Winslow's situation was a bit different than Peyton's or Brady's...I don't think people realize how serious these things are.
Ken Moll (4:34 PM)
Dave, It's been bad the past few years. For some reason it has been showing up more (or maybe being reported more ) in the NFL. It is very serious and Brady's situation is tough. Not a Doctor but from what I understand Staph infection is hard to get rid of and can cause all kinds of problems and in rare cases Death !
Mike (San Diego)
Ken, what's the love affair with Herm Edwards? He's been a horrible head coach, with both the Jets and Chiefs. I don't get it.
Ken Moll (4:36 PM)
Mike, I was just saying that he is a good man and well liked by many in the business (coaches, players , front office people ) but your right he hasn't shown to be a winner as a head coach.
Marc (city of brotherly love)
Ken if you were a GM and had to draft a WR who would you take? Eddie Royal or Desean Jackson?
Ken Moll (4:38 PM)
Marc, I take Royal . Jacson is more talented but I would go with less flare and more consistency. I don;t care for HOTDOGS as you don't know what your getting each weekend.
nick (boston)
Ken, do you think the patritos will beat the saints on sunday, and will Cassel be able to repeat what he did last week?
Ken Moll (4:39 PM)
Nick , Rams are in town on Sunday and I believe the Pats will win in a close contest.
Stefen (Nashville, TN)
Ken- Will defense and a steady run game be enough for the Titans to win on Monday?
Ken Moll (4:41 PM)
Stefen, I do see it being enough this Monday night as the Colts aren't playing well and Jeff Fisher has got them believing . They will loos some weekend but not this Monday.
Tim (Soldier)
DO the Bears win the North? And can they do some damage in the weak NFC?
Ken Moll (4:43 PM)
Tim, This division is a toss up with the packers and even the Vikings, Sorry Lions fans. Da' Bears have a great chance especially if Kyle plays like he is. Can't guess at this one but it should be a great mathc up in week 16 when the Pack vists the windy city.
Adam (Jersey)
The weak NFC? The Bears already have lost to the Bucs, the Panthers, the Falcons...
Ken Moll (4:45 PM)
Adam, your right ! I don't see the winner of the NFC North going very far in the post season but it's still going to be a great race in this division.
Marc (city of brotherly love)
Alright Ken admit it. You do not like Philadelphia. We always hotdog it here on Friday afternoons. You should come to Philly, we have a Santa suit waiting for you. Ha ha
Ken Moll (4:46 PM)
Marc, I love Santa suits and Philly is a great city just giving it to you straight.
CC (Atlanta)
Everyone likes the Eagles over Atlanta. If Atlanta wins will we finally start hearing that they are more than just a nice story?
Ken Moll (4:49 PM)
CC, The Falcons have done a great job thus far but if Westbrook plays in this contest I see the Eagles winning by double digits. The Philly "D" is going to dial up a bunch of Pressure packages in this match up and unless they can continue to run the ball well (which they could ) it will be tough for Atlanta to win .
Marc (city of brotherly love)
Alright Ken. You filled JG's shoes very nicely today. Good sense of humor too. Thanks
Ken Moll (4:51 PM)
Marc, One of my best friends I knock aroud with is from Philly and we have a blast (we laugh alot) -- Loving life !!
mikey(Lackawanna,NY)
Ken, What are your thoughts on the play of the Buffalo Bills 2nd year QB Trent Edwards? Do you think he will be a star QB?
Ken Moll (4:53 PM)
Mikey, It's always tough to say but he is really playing well right now. I like to judge QB's on how well they play on the road (especially against a tough defense). Lets' see how he does in the second half of the season. He has the talent but too early to tell.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Do you think some of the other weak teams might follow the Dolphins' lead and implement more use of the Wildcat offense? They may not win but at least the fans will be entertained.
Ken Moll (4:54 PM)
J.B. I'm not "GIMMICK" guy but when your struggling badly on offense (Cincy, Chiefs) it is good for a coach to give his players and fans (but mostly his team) a different look to give them a chance to move the chains.
Joe(Cal)
The Oakland Raiders and Kellen Winslow Jr! It seems like a good fit? Right!
Ken Moll (4:56 PM)
Joe, Kellen is very talented but it might be tme for a change of scenery for Him. The Raiders need much more than just Winslow but it's a good start.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Don't forget the 49ers in that struggling group and they have a guy on the team in Michael Robinson that can actually handle the gimmicks.
Ken Moll (4:58 PM)
J.B, Good call but at least they have shown some glimpes of an offense.
Caroline (ME)
With Romo out, can the cowboys pull through?
Ken Moll (4:59 PM)
Caroline, Thye have enough talent on the team to do so but they have to dig deep and leaders need to step up . Let's see what the BOYS are made of - Back against the wall.
Shawn (Cincinnati)
What are the chances of the Bengals going 0-16? Then having Mike Brown admit he is NOT a GM and step down?
Ken Moll (5:01 PM)
Shawn, The chances are SLIM and NONE! Sorry !
Ken Moll (5:02 PM)
This was great , I'm sure I'll get to do it again some time onFriday afternoon. Have a great weekend ----------------- LOTS OF BALL THIS WEEKEND !
