ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:01 PM)
Hey everyone. Looking forward to an important MNF game for the Colts, at least as far as any chance for a division title. Let's talk fantasy.
Gregg (Memphis)
I'm thinking of targeting Greg Olsen off of waivers this week. Do you think he will be a good producer from this point on to the end of the year, with how Orton has been including him more on the Bears Offense? If not, I have John Carlson or can grab back Kellen Winslow, would they be any better?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:03 PM)
Tight ends are fickle, in general. Way too streaky on the whole. Winslow's a better option overall, but I do think Olsen's an upgrade from Carlson and has a nice matchup with the Lions this week, for what that's worth.
Gary(NY)
2 trade offers that I really need help with. I have Chester Taylor and Sproles but don?t own either AP or LT. Was just offered Warrick Dunn for Sproles in one trade. Also was offered Jonathan Stewart for Taylor and Sproles. Would you do either trade? Thanks for your help.
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:06 PM)
You're obviously waiting for LT or AP to go down, which is tough to do when you're just trying to win games each week. Dunn for Sproles doesn't move the meter much since Dunn doesn't score TDs, but it IS an upgrade right now, and you need to win games now (or at least I assume you do).The other trade also makes sense, since Stewart has scored his share of TDs. While Stewart hasn't received the consistent carries DeAngelo Williams has, yesterday's game was one in which the Panthers were coming from behind and Williams was the better option, especially in passing situations.
Adam (LI)
Keith, Do I trade Colston for Gates? I know it sounds like giving up too much but I have Berrian, Royal, Chambers, Cotchery, and Holmes also at WR while I start Zach Miller at TE. My record is going to be 7-1. Would you trade any of those guys for Gates?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:08 PM)
Well, naturally if I could trade a lesser guy for Gates, I'd do it. But since Colston, Berrian or Cotchery are the only guys who anyone would deal for Gates, it's worth considering because you've obviously gone 7-1 without Colston, so you must be strong elsewhere. And Gates is a major upgrade from Miller.
Joe (seattle)
I have Roy Williams at the end of my WR bench. Do you see him being a productive member of Dallas offense anytime soon (2 catches in 2 weeks - 1 td)? More productive WR are available like Avery, ABryant, Driver, Walter, and Muhammad. Thanks!
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:11 PM)
For the next couple weeks -- or as long as Brad Johnson is the QB, including the bye week -- Williams is not worth much. And even when Romo comes back, Williams is still nothing more than a top-3 option, provided Witten's fine. In the short term, Avery appears to be a better option until teams slow him down. The Rams have been revived a bit.
Tim ( C Springs)
I'll ask this question once more and hope you get to it, I know you guys hate people who send a question 1000 times so here it goes: I am stumped as to who to start at WR and Flex this week. All my receivers have excellent matchups. Pick 3: Berrian @ HOU, Hester @ DET, Evans @ JETS, Curtis @ SEA, A. Bryant @ KC and Avery @ ARI? What are the best options? Thanks!
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:12 PM)
Well, Tim, I think that Berrian and Evans are must-starts right now, the way they've been playing. And for the third WR, I think Avery is the safer option, since he's been a bit more consistent recently.
Campbell (CA)
I need some help with a trade here. I'm giving Favre, Santana Moss, and Eddie Royal and getting McNabb, Brandon Marshall, and Derrick Ward. How's that look?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:15 PM)
Well, you're getting the better QB, at least in terms of consistency and perceived health. I'm concerned about Favre's shoulder, personally. And you're getting one of the best WRs in the game in Marshall. Sure, Moss has been hot, but I like Marshall more. Go for it!
Adam (Atlanta)
Keith, back to Colston for a sec. What's the deal? Look into your magic 8 ball and tell us whether he will break out or not. Thanks!
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:17 PM)
I think Colston will be fine. He'd been out for so long, that I think it just takes some time to get back in the groove. And with one more week to give that thumb that last bit of time to fully heal shouldn't hurt.
Ed (Atlanta)
Do I keep Kolby Smith on my bench given LJ's problems? How long is it worth waiting on the KC running situation?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:18 PM)
I really don't think much of the KC running situation, because it appears they'll be trailing in most games, and even when they're not, Charles and Smith will split things up ... and be inconsistent.
Justin (Queens, NY)
What's going on with Addai? First, is he definilty NOT playing? Second, I hear even when healthy, Rhodes will continue to split carries with the oft-injured RB. Is this true? This is not the hope I had when drafting Joseph 5th overall.
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:20 PM)
Justin, maybe the feeling is that Addai may not get back to full health anytime soon, so even when he plays he'll be hampered a little. If you look at Addai's carries this season, he hasn't been a workhorse anyway. No more than 17 carries in any game. Definitely disappointing for as high as he was drafted, I know.
Lynn (Peoria,IL)
I need 8 non PPR points from Wayne tonight because I left Avery on my bench.. think he can pull it off?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:21 PM)
I don't see why not. He could score a TD and solve it right there. But 80 yards is also quite possible, so good luck.
J.B. (Dunmore, PA)
Is Steve Breaston becoming a must-play now for his owners or is he a 'watch the matchups' kind of player?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:23 PM)
I still think he could be a matchups play, because he's still going to be option No. 3 most weeks, with Fitz and Boldin guaranteed to get their numbers. Luckily, the Cards throw it a lot and Breaston factors in many weeks.
Matt (Baltimore, MD)
Keith, Schaub is going OFF lately, but I'm worried about his matchups later this season. Should I shop him around and try to trade for another QB if he's my best option right now (aka., I drafted Palmer).
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:25 PM)
I do think it's safe to say Schaub's value is as high as it will be this season, so sure, shop around. I'm not sure if you'll be able to get an upgrade in return, though, because other owners will be looking at that schedule ahead, too, ya know?
Ben (Charlotte NC)
Eli or Brad Johnson next week?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:27 PM)
John McEnroe said it best: "Surely, you can't be serious."Eli.
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:27 PM)
Oh wait, Mac left out the "Surely"... Naked Gun in my head.
Taylor (DC)
What is up with Earnest Graham? He got almost all the carries and still couldn't put up any points. What do you think of him for the rest of the year?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:29 PM)
He's going to be streaky. He's not making the most of his carries lately, so it's hard to love him. But 3 of his next 4 games are favorable matchups, at least (at KC, bye, MIN, at DET, NO), so there's hope.
Movie Guy (Here)
It wasn't Naked Gun, it was Airplane
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:30 PM)
How could I mess that up! Thanks. Showing my age in a couple ways there.
Matt (Charlotte)
FYI - The "Surely" reference was Leslie Neilson, but Airplane not Naked Gun...and For My information, would you trade Randy Moss for a #1 RB right now or wait him out?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:31 PM)
There are so few true No. 1 backs, I think I would trade him for one. Receivers' production is still dependent on the QB, so if you can land a top back, I think it's worth your time.
Joseph M.
Keith,I am a 72-year-old, first-time fantasy football player. I have lucked out this season so far, but facing my grandson in a close matchup. He says I still have a chance tonight, down 38. I have Indy's TE Dallas Clark and the Titan's rookie rb, Chris Johnson, I think. What do you think? Thank you.
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:32 PM)
Pretty unlikely, Joseph, but root for lots of touchdowns!
Travis (Charlotte)
QUESTION FOR TONIGHT: Would you start Rhodes or Chris Johnson tonight?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:33 PM)
I'd have to go with Johnson, even though he'll get fewer touches. The Titans' run D is tough, so Rhodes will have to help through rushing/receiving yards ... while Johnson could bust off one long run and make it worth your while.
Casa, Pittsburgh, PA
Ted Ginn or Matt Jones- I need to drop one of these guys. im only need to look in the short term here.
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:35 PM)
Gotta be Jones, then, since he's expected to have his suspension start this week, from all indications. If you can wait to make sure, though, do that since the Jags have another favorable matchup this week with Cincy.
Gerard (Clearwater, Fl)
Commish points question here.During the Bucs/Cowboys game, a Bucs special teams player lost a fumble on a kick-off. It was recovered by the Cowboys. In standard scoring shouldnt the Bucs D/ST loose 2 points for loosonig that fumble? Thanks for your time.
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:36 PM)
Only if your scoring system states that special teams fumbles can count against you. You'll have to check your rules there, but I've never played in a league which special teams fumbles lost counted against me ... only those in which recoveries counted.
Wayne: (Atlanta)
Would you trade Ryan Grant for TO right now?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:39 PM)
First, let's say you're in decent shape at RB without Grant. Then, if you could handle possibly getting nothing out of T.O. the next 2 weeks, then I'd do it, because once Romo returns, T.O.'s value goes back up. But two losses in a row at this time of year can be so damaging, that's why it would be hard for me to do.
Andy (Phoenix)
Hey Ears,Considering his suspension, would you drop the Deuce for a Fargas?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:41 PM)
We haven't received confirmation that Deuce will in fact be suspended, but with Deuce on bye this week and Reggie Bush possibly returning the week after, Fargas may be a better play the rest of the way anyway. Definitely more upside there.
KGRamone (Louisville, KY)
Packers fan with a potentially emotional decision to make ... should I drop Driver (my favorite player) for Avery? Driver's upside these days seems to top out at 50 or 60 yards and an occasional TD, so it seems to make sense ... but my loyalty is making it tough to pull the trigger.
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:43 PM)
Also the fact that Driver's done it for so long makes it tough, but Driver just hasn't had a big game yet, while the Rams really seem committed to stretching the field at least once a week with Avery, or attempting to. I agree it's a tough call, but I think I would right now.
chris-ct
Wesbrook for Holt fair? Its pending in our league!! I am hoping it gets vetoed and then offer Addai and Rhodes for Westbrook? Smart?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:44 PM)
Of course that's not fair, Chris. And if it gets vetoed, your trade also isn't totally fair, because even though you're giving up both Colts RB options, that owner can still only start one of them, and they're simply not as good as Westbrook. But hey, if they're willing to accept it, that's not your problem.
brian (de)
Better bye week replacement QB this week... Orton or Shaub?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:45 PM)
I like Orton more this week. Although it's much easier to pass on Minnesota than to run on them, the Lions are just not very good and Orton has been very strong recently.
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
Schaub against Minny or Warner against St. Louis...who do you like more?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:46 PM)
I have a hard time benching Warner in most leagues, because they throw it a bunch every week and have great weapons, too. I go with Warner.
David ( Houston, Texas)
Thanks for the advice in starting Joe Flacco last week...should I stick with Aaron Rodgers this week or go with Kyle Orton and the better matchup?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:49 PM)
That's a tougher one. I would need to time to sleep on that one under normal circumstances! :-)But I think I'd go Orton in that one right now. But it's close, because Rodgers has been so consistent all season.
Rob (State College)
Keith - Can't wait for HOOPS chats!! However, this is football time, so here's my football question: Right now, my WR corps is: Santonio, Cotchery, Lance Moore, Donnie Avery (yes, I got his points yesterday!), and Donald Driver. My RB corps is: Westbrook, Addai, Thomas Jones, Hightower, Duece. How am I looking for the rest of the season in your eyes at these positions? I'm clawing my way back into the playoff picture and want to be set up well! Thanks Keith!!
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:51 PM)
Hey Rob. You'll have to play the matchups with your WRs, which won't be easy, but if you get Addai back and reasonably healthy, you'll be in great shape in the backfield. With that kind of talent, at least you'll feel like you've got a shot each week.
Johnny (Raleigh, NC)
Should I drop JT O'Turnover for Trent Edwards? Was his game against MIA a hiccup or the begining of the end of his fantasy season?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:52 PM)
At least Edwards is the unquestioned guy in Buffalo, whereas JTO may have taken his final snap as a starter for a bit. With the Niners on a bye this week, it's very possible Shaun Hill could be worked into the starting role for two weeks from tonight.
Michelle (PA)
IS my question stupid. Taking into account what happened yeserday, would you play lance moore over colston after the bye. I also have boldin and can probaly pick up avery
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:53 PM)
I'm sure others have the same question, since many Colston owners had to pick up Moore back in September. Brees really does a nice job spreading the ball around in that offense, so there will be games where Colston is outperformed, but I really think he's a better option than Moore most weeks, so I wouldn't bench him just yet.
Muhammed (Minneapolis)
Hello, for TONIGHT, should I play Bo Scaife or Dallas Clark at Tight End? Many thanks.
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:55 PM)
I'd go with Clark, but you never know with TEs. Since the Colts will have a hard time running, I'll say they'll try to use short passes in lieu of runs at times tonight. And that means Clark should get targets.
Rob (Toledo, Ohio)
Has the Wildcat been tamed? What do you think of trading away Ronnie Brown?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:56 PM)
Problem is, Rob, you may have missed your window of opportunity. In fact, if he has a big game this week at Denver, then you might be able to get the value from 3 weeks ago again. I'd wait.
Steve(Boston)
KEITH, Am I crazy for thinking about benching Portis next week vs Pitt and starting Forte vs Detriot, C. Johnson vs GB, and S Jax? Thanks
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (3:58 PM)
Certainly not crazy, because at least you've got three really good other options. Normally, I wouldn't even consider benching one of my studs like Portis, but against such a staunch run D and with strong options and/or great matchups, I actually could see why you would.
Homer (Springfield)
Does Winslow still have top 5 TE value the rest of the way, or with the injury and other issues, does that reduce his value?
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (4:00 PM)
I'm really not concerned with the health and other issues. I think those will blow over as long as he behaves, but I am concerned once again about the lack of TDs. He has just 9 in his career, and doesn't have more than 55 yards in any game this season. Not a top-5 guy until the team shows more of a commitment to getting him the ball. That said, I still think he finishes strong, just no guarantee at top-5 value.
ESPN.com Fantasy's Keith Lipscomb (4:01 PM)
OK, I've gotta step aside for Gary Horton to take over the reins. Enjoy the game tonight!
Scouts Inc.'s Gary Horton (4:03 PM)
I came away from yesterday with, I think, a clear feeling who the best two teams in the NFL are. The Giants proved it yesterday, and I think Tennessee will prove it tonight. I love both teams because neither is flashy--both play old-fashioned football with portable gameplans that will work in any situation. Obviously we have a lot of football left, but they are clearly the best two teams in the league.
John (Miami)
Ted Ginn Jr's big game...fluke or sign of a bright future?
Scouts Inc.'s Gary Horton (4:05 PM)
I don't know if it's a fluke, but people have been disappointed in him for a long time. I was happy to see that the Dolphins opened up their passing game a little bit.
Kev (NYC)
Will Steve Spanuolo definitely have a head coaching job next year? What's the odds he stays with the Gmen?
Scouts Inc.'s Gary Horton (4:08 PM)
Well, Steve Spagnuolo will be a really hot guy. His group plays as well as any unit I've ever seen. They're creative, they have fun, they appear to buy in to what he's selling--I'm very, very impressed with him.
Drew (DC)
What's going on with peyton manning? It seemed like he was getting back to his old self against the ravens and now looks as bad as ever... worth trading schaub and cotchery for him with the colts easy playoff matchups?
Scouts Inc.'s Gary Horton (4:10 PM)
There's something going on with the Colts as a whole. They can look great one week and terrible the next. Against Green Bay, their receivers could not get off the jam, and at times they did not look very fast. They can't run the ball or stop the run, and that takes away Manning's play-action ability. That's a real problem. This is not the same team we're used to seeing.
Drew (NJ)
Do you see Thomas Jones' role in the Jets offense diminishing? The speed and receiving threat of Washington seemed to work better for their offense yesterday.
Scouts Inc.'s Gary Horton (4:11 PM)
I am very confused with what the Jets are trying to do on offense. There doesn't seem to be much of a flow, and at times, it looks like they want to be a wide-open pass offense. Other times it looks like they want to smash the ball. They may be catering to Brett Favre. I just don't know what they are trying to do. In my mind, Thomas Jones needs 25 carries a game.
Kev (NYC)
For a year and a half now the Giants have established a pass-rush that nearly wins the game on its own as the blitz seems to always get home. From a scout's prospective, what are teams trying to do to stop this week to week and why is it so successful??
Scouts Inc.'s Gary Horton (4:14 PM)
They come from a lot of different directions. We know that Tuck and Kiwanuka are good off the edge, and we also know that they are not afraid to bring their corners on some stunts. Those are tough to stop, but what I've really been impressed by is an underrated inside pass rush, where their defensive tackles are getting penetration and doing a good job. Nobody even knows who those guys are.
Scouts Inc.'s Gary Horton (4:14 PM)
They're really tough because they always keep you off-balance.
Paul (Denver)
Is Big Ben overrated? He holds on to the ball way to long.
Scouts Inc.'s Gary Horton (4:15 PM)
I don't think he's overrated, but as poorly as his offensive line plays, a lot of his sacks come from that holding on to the ball for too long. He doesn't have great speed receivers and it takes his guys longer to seperate. Ben is so big and physical that he is willing to take a hit to let the route develop and let his receiver get seperation. A lot of his sacks are coverage sacks.
Perry (Boston)
Cassel looked good yesterday (2 picks but one wasn't his fault). Even with a banged up RB and DB situation, can the Pats go far?
Scouts Inc.'s Gary Horton (4:17 PM)
We have to remember, this is a very experienced team with veteran leadership. They will not go away quietly. Cassel, to me, gets better each week, although his passing game is very simple, with a lot of safe throws like dump-offs and bubble screens designed to get yards after the catch. It's a smart gameplan. I think they will win their division, but I don't see them going deep in the playoffs without Brady.
Justin (Queens, NY)
Hey Gary, I know they won the game yesterday against a decimated Pitt team , but I was actually disappointed in the Giants play yesterday. Eli had trouble in the red zone again and threw what should have been a game changing INT. And if not for an injury to the long snapper and punter of Pitt, they probably would have lost the game. Why do you think they are the best team in the league...lack of better options?
Scouts Inc.'s Gary Horton (4:20 PM)
I agree with everything you're saying, and that's why I really like them. They played a physical team in a hostile environment, and they did not have their best game. They couldn't run the ball, and Eli wasn't real sharp, and yet they figured out a way to win. That's why I like them. I think they are so well-coached and so sure in what their gameplan is each week that they can win most of those close and ugly games when they're not showing much explosiveness. That serves them well for the playoffs. There's not any part of this team that really has a weakness. They're pretty solid in every area.
Ken (Chicago)
Has Donnie Avery surpassed Torry Holt as the number one receiving option in STL?
Scouts Inc.'s Gary Horton (4:22 PM)
He's their big-play guy right now. He has the ability to get deep. Holt is great on deep in-routes, but when they need a vertical play, it looks like they will go to Avery. Interestingly, the emergence of Avery on the deep ball should give Holt more room to run on the underneath and intermediate routes.
CJ (Youngstown, Oh)
Are the browns improving? And will they make the playoffs?
Scouts Inc.'s Gary Horton (4:23 PM)
It'll be tough for them to make the playoffs, because I don't think they will play with consistency each week. The Wild Card in the AFC will be very competitive, and I suppose they could be around at the end. There is something missing with this team. They tease us one week and struggle the next.
Dan (Philadelphia)
What do you think of Singletary's debut? Will his strict demeanor make a big difference for the 49ers?
Scouts Inc.'s Gary Horton (4:25 PM)
He is being true to himself, and I think that he's a guy anyone would love to play for. He is honest and intense. I like what he did on Sunday, and I think he will demand effort and intensity from his players. In today's NFL, I just don't know how long those kinds of speeches resonate with players. I don't know that you can get away with that every week.
Scouts Inc.'s Gary Horton (4:25 PM)
I do think he's going to coach this team the way he wants to and not to somebody else's perception. I hope that turns these guys around, because I love what he stands for.
G (MD)
Who has the better game tonight, Chris Johnson or Lendale White?
Scouts Inc.'s Gary Horton (4:27 PM)
Chris Johnson. He does an excellent job of starting inside and bouncing outside. The Colts have been awful tackling on the second level and in space. That is where Johnson is at his best. He can run around or through you and is an excellent back after contact. He will have some big runs tonight.
Jamey (PA)
Are the Cardinals the favorite to win a very bad NFC West, or do you see the Seahawks making a run? Thanks.
Scouts Inc.'s Gary Horton (4:29 PM)
I don't see the Seahawks making a run, because they have had too many injuries on offense. I also don't like the tackling of their defense. They are just not a real physical team right now. It's a very bad division. Arizona should be the favorite because they have a veteran QB, underrated defense, and an excellent short passing game. They believed in themselves. But I have really been impressed with the Rams. Even though they lost yesterday, they showed me some toughness and intensity that I have not seen from them in a while. They may get right back in the middle of this thing,, which seems absolutely preposterous.
Scouts Inc.'s Gary Horton (4:31 PM)
I can never remember a year like this--you just don't know from week to week what mindset teams are going to have. I do think we know now that we have two really good teams in Tennessee and the Giants, with some other teams close, and we have two bad teams in Cincinnatti and Detroit. Either of those has a better chance than you think of going 0-16. There are a lot of teams in the middle that are fighting it out. That is a good thing, as it keeps fan interest high late into the season.
Buzzmaster (4:47 PM)
Thanks Gary! Next up is Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll! He'll be here at 5 p.m. ET.
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:01 PM)
How about this past week end with all those close games and a few upset's to boot! Let's see what the Titans and the Colts look like !!
John (Miami)
Ken, do you think Joey Porter is the mid-season defensive MVP?
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:03 PM)
John,I can see why you like Porter so much thus far but MVP?? It's good to see a player of his caliber back making plays.
David B (San Jose)
Nobody else seems to know, perhaps you do: John Carney - does he finish the year as NYG kicker? Or do they bring back Tynes? It actually does make a difference in my league.
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:04 PM)
David, I don't think anyone does know the answer to that question. I don't think they (G-men) have to bring back Tynes if Carney is kicking well / Only Coughlin knows that answer-
Kent (MI)
How does Wayne and Clark fare tonight, your thoughts?
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:06 PM)
Kent, They will have to have a big game as I don't see the Colts moving the ball on the ground much. The Titans may play more nickle and dime packages in this contest to force the Colt to run the ball to move the chains and that's the only way Wayne doesn't have a solid night.
John (Boston)
Will Laurence Maroney ever be a #1 RB?
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:08 PM)
John , you do know he's out for the year (IR). If he is healthy next season he'll be back at the number one spot unless they draft a STUD !
ray gordon reid atlanta ga 30223
QUESTION TO KEN MOLL AT 5.10 HI KEN GIANTS OR COWBOYS
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:09 PM)
Ray,You have to go with the G-men with the BOYS being so short handed - I would have given Dallas a good chance about four weeks ago but don't see it in this match up-
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:10 PM)
Johnny, Really White may get more touches as he is more of a "HAMMER" in the middle where the Colts hvae the most problems. I'm sure Johnson will get his touches but it maybe more of a 50/50 proposition.
Larry (Pasco, WA)
Are the Chargers done? Do you really see them making a second half push for the AFC West title?
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:12 PM)
Larry, It's really tough to see a talented club like the Chargers fall so short of expectations. They are capable of running off a string (5 or 6 ) wins in a row but they need to get going !!!!!!
Trey (VA)
I know everybody, including myself, is disappointed with the Redskins' points in games, but look at what they're doing to their opponent. They usually outgain them 2 to 1. Is this a scary team when things start to really click? Thanks.
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:15 PM)
Trey, They are a very good football team but the season is only half over and they still have some tough games (many at home ) but still. Don't get too far ahead of yourself. They make the playoffs as a wild card team at best !!
Steve (San Francisco)
Ok.. So the Chargers might not be done, but is their Defense done from a fantasy perspective?!?!
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:16 PM)
Steve, I would say so, The loss of Merriman was the biggest blow to the Defense- They are not the same-
Jack (TN)
If the Titans lose, are they still the AFC South favorite? Who could catch them?
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:17 PM)
Jack,Yes, they remain the favorite to win the division and I don't see anyone catching them (IF) they stay healthy --
Chris (Saratoga Springs)
Hey Ken, the Browns defense is getting better every week and I think they are underated because everyone is focused on the offensive struggles. If the offense can get on a roll I think they can make some noise.
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:19 PM)
Chris, They are a bit of a "JECKLE @ HYDE type club- They can certainly look poor at times (on both sides of the ball) but they can also play very well. Yes they can make some noise but CONSISTENCY Is the answer.
Chuck (Knoxville, TN)
Is Thigpen the answer for KC? I'm thinking about dumping Bowe for Avery, who won't be available for much longer in my league, I don't think.
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:22 PM)
Chuck,No I don't think Thigpen is the answer but there are more problems in K.C. than just the QB position. Bowe will struggle this year , Take Avery if you can get him.
Josh Richmond, Va
Would you trade ronnie brown and braylon edwards for westbrook. Im pretty much deep everywhere: Romo, SchaubCalvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall, Roddy White, Braylon EdwardsLT, Gore, Ronnie Brown
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:23 PM)
Josh,If Westbrook can stay healthy it's a good move--
Marc (Los Angeles)
Which scenario do you expect for tonights game. Are we going to finally find out the Titans have not played anyone really good or are we going to find out the Titans are for REAL?
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:25 PM)
Marc,This is going to be a huge test for the Titans but if they don't shoot themselves in the foot they win by more than a touch down- The Colts have several holes this year and the Titans are very well coached and solid in all three phases of the game.
Ron (Kalamazoo, MI)
How much longer do I hang on to Chad Johnson? It seems Carson Palmers season is over!
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:26 PM)
Ron, Let him go ASAP. This year is done for #85 - Find a decent replacement -- NOW !
Steve Slaton (Houston)
Do I have a shot at ROY?
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:29 PM)
Steve, Your having a nice year but I like some other better right now- Just keep playing but you'll have to beat out Chris Johnson right now.
Ronnie
Who has a bigger game?Colts Offense or Titans Defense?
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:30 PM)
Ronnie,The Colts will get their yards but not sure how points they actually score. I would take the Titans "D" in tonights matchup.
Plaxico Burress (New York)
How "long" is my leash with Coughlin and the Giant organization
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:33 PM)
PLax,Your digging a big hole for yourself and you need to keep you mouth shut. Yoyu can help this team but not being a distraction or on the sideline.
Chris (Saratoga Springs)
McFadden going to be a bust this year? seems his toe will limit him the rest of the way.
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:35 PM)
Chris, If a player (especially a back or WR) is hurt (toe, knee, hamstring etc.) you never get a good indication of what kind of player he really is. Addai has been productive and I believe he will be again. I don't see him going anywhere unless there is some kind of contractual problem with him-
Jared (Omaha)
Any news on how Witten is doing/what exactly the injury is? Will he play on sunday?
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:36 PM)
Jared, I believ the x-rays were negative and he is questionale right now but they update that status all the time- Need to wait until thursday or friday.
david (thurmont, md)
will the skins beat the 'burg on mon.???
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:39 PM)
David, There is still a question for me about the Skins- It will be tough to d but I take the Steelers on MNF (11-3-08)
Nathan (Nashville)
Do you think the Titans' receiver "issues" over the off-season were more because of a lack of receiver talent or more a problem of a lack of VY's accuracy. Obviously, the team is winning now with a bunch pf #2s (or #3s).
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:42 PM)
Nathan, The Titans still need to upgrade in this area but have enough solid route runners to get it done with the ground assualt they put on the field. Good coaching and utilizing what they have to win games.
John Doe
Who would you pick as your top 3 wr's and top 3 rb's for the rest of the year?
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:47 PM)
John Doe, (nice simple name ) Portis, Peterson, A. and Turner (all heavy run clubs) - Andre Johnson, Lee Evans and Fitzgerald (all capable of continuing to put up big numbers)
Scott (NO)
The Saints made it (barely) to 4-4 at the bye. What is their outlook for the remainder of the season?
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:48 PM)
Scott, No reason to think they won't be much better than 4-4 in the second half of the season. They have talent but very inconsistent.
Ric (Jersey)
Who do you like more for the rest of the season Orton or Big Ben?
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:50 PM)
Ric,Kyle is having a very good year (especially for him) but I would have to go with BIG BEN
Mike Shannahan (Local tanning bed)
Thoughts on Brandon Marshall during the 2nd half? Can he be a top3-5 WR rest of year?
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:53 PM)
Mike , don't you know the "FAKE BAKE" isn't the way to go. Oh yea, Marshall can be and will likley have a very solid second half of the year but you have more to worry about than just Brandon (Defense and sun spots )
Andrew (Vancouver, WA)
Hey, Its Monday night, we have a tight battle going on in my league. He has Regie Wayne, I have Chris Johnson. Who wins this week, him or me?
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:55 PM)
Andrew , I would be a bit nevous if I were in your shoes only because White may get a bunch of carries in this one and Wayne is going to be a focal point for Peyton-
Younger (Los Angeles, CA)
Hey Ken, do u think Colts can pull a win today? Everyone picked the Titans but I think given this must win situation for the Colts, they will step up this game. What do you think the odds are for this upset?
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:56 PM)
Younger, They can pull off the up set but I wouldn't bet on it. Thing have to go just right for the Colts and the Titans will have to turn the ball over some for Indy to win tonight.
Joe (Pittsburgh)
Hello Ken,, You do great Work you and Doug Kretz are the best in my opinion, That was a tough one lastnight for the Steelers. Do you think they can get the ship afloat again.. They are playing "Lights OUt" on D, but no pressure on Manning was concerning,The office was hit and miss. Your thoughts on the Future this year for the steelers?
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (5:58 PM)
Joe,The Steelers will have a good chance of winning the division but I don't see much more than that this season- Too many injures in 2008
Shaun Queen Creek
Another Tight battle on Monday night I am 6 points ahead of my brothernlaw. he still has Clark am I in trouble.
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (6:00 PM)
Shaun, If the Titans don't get pressure on Manning, your in trouble- This should be a great match up tonight.
Chris (TX)
Your answer to that McFadden question made no sense. Addai? Contractual issues? He was asking about whether the toe will limit him the rest of the year....?
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (6:01 PM)
Chris , I said any player with a toe, knee, hamstring , etc. will be a problem and you really can't make a evaluation on how good he is until he is totally healthy. MAKE ANY SENSE ??
Scouts Inc.'s Ken Moll (6:02 PM)
It's been gretat have a great week and you don't want to miss MNF , should be a great match up--
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:05 PM)
Hello. My turn for the next hour. Let's talk about some football, shall we?
Johnny (Knoxville)
Aaron, what do you think the Cowboys will look like after their bye in 2 weeks....their D stepped up big yesterday (although against an offensive challenged team) but they should get motivation off yesterdays win
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:10 PM)
Honestly, the Cowboys defense wasn't *that* good yesterday. It is an offensively challenged opponent, and the Cowboys played some major bend-but-don't-break style defense. They had no takeaways, but kept the Bucs to 1 yard total on five red zone plays (just PATHETIC on the part of the Bucs). How the Cowboys look really depends on who gets healthy. There's a reason Football Outsiders said before the season that Dallas' depth had not been tested because of excellent injury luck in recent years. They need Terrance Newman back, and they REALLY need Tony Romo back. Johnson is just plain awful.
Dave (Valdosta, Ga)
As a Broncos fan all preseason I heard about how Ryan Torain was the answer at Rb. Now that he is healthy, what kind of impact to you see him having the rest of the season?
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:12 PM)
There's no reason to believe Torain won't be anything more than another generic Denver running back. They are good at finding guys late in the draft who fit their style, and this is another one, but he's not going to turn into the second coming of Clinton Portis or Terrell Davis. There's no evidence for it, anyway -- and there's no evidence that he'll get enough carries to be a meaningful fantasy football player either, if that is your reason for asking.
Joe ( Pittsburgh)
Aaron,Do you think the Steelers Countless injuries and sitting down Holmes affected yesterdays outcome? Also Does that tell you something about how hard they play no matter who is in there?? Thanks Aaron.
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:14 PM)
Well, I'm a big fan of Santonio Holmes, but Nate Washington had a reasonably good game in his stead. Big Ben can't launch it downfield to Holmes if he is not upright. I think what we saw yesterday is the same thing we saw when the Steelers played Philadelphia -- that offensive line just crumbles against a very strong pass rush. You had two teams with excellent pass rushes, and only one that could pass block. The team that could pass block won.I try not to get caught up in the question of who is "playing hard," honestly. If you are in the NFL, there's a pretty good chance you are playing hard no matter what. Nobody likes to lose. Well, unless you are the kind of player that gets called out by Mike Singletary in a postgame press conference.
Darnell (Dayton)
Please rank the following the rest of the way. McGahee, Brown and Addai. Thanks
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:17 PM)
Honestly, I don't see any reason why John Harbaugh doesn't start playing the hot hand again at running back as soon as McGahee has another bad game. I don't know if I would trust him to be the sure starter the rest of the year. In addition, based on Football Outsiders numbers, Miami has the easiest remaining schedule in the league, including the easiest remaining schedule of opposing defenses. Indy's remaining schedule is pretty darn easy too. I think I would go Brown, Addai, McGahee.
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:18 PM)
Addendum: Let me point out when I say the Colts' remaining schedule is against fairly easy defenses, I mean AFTER TONIGHT. Tonight is gonna be hard as heck.
Michael ( Florida)
Can the Dolphins make the playoffs?
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:19 PM)
Yeah, they have the easiest remaining schedule, but... Buffalo has the second-easiest remaining schedule, and the Patriots are still the Patriots, with lots of good players and the best coach in the league. The Dolphins are two games behind those two teams right now. Making the playoffs is a VERY long shot. Not impossible, but very unlikely.
hondo (oakland)
New coach but about the same result. I have come to the conclusion that the Raiders are lacking in good talent. Your take?
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:21 PM)
Oh, the Raiders are not lacking in good talent. They just have a lot of really terrible talent playing next to their good talent, and awful spending habits, and some poor drafting history... Honestly, if the league could get Al Davis to give up power and straight things out over there, the Raiders have some amazing building blocks. Nnamdi Asomugha is either the best or second-best cornerback in the league. I think Kirk Morrison is underrated. Burgess is good. McFadden is good. Fargas. Russell obviously has promise.
Carson (Salisbury, Md.)
How are you Aaron? I need some advice. I'm in a league where u must start a TE. My current TE is Bo Scaife. Other teams have 2 TEs that are more productive. I'm benching guys like Kevin Walter, Holt and Mushin Muhammad every week. I can't imagine trying to give up one of those guys for a TE..but I'm getting killed at that position. what should i do? btw I'm in a PPR.
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:23 PM)
Yes. Give up one of those guys for a TE. Fantasy football isn't about having the best talent, it is about having the best talent over the minimum possible for each starting position. Guys on your bench aren't getting you anywhere. On top of that, please give up on the idea that Torry Holt is going to turn into the Torry Holt of five years ago. The guy was an amazing player but he's now in a terrible offense and he's had knee problems for a couple years. It's not ridiculous to suggest he has been passed as the top option by Donnie Avery. Find someone who is still in love with the Torry Holt if 1999-2005, and get a tight end from them.
will (cobleskill)
do u think ewing jr should have been cut
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:24 PM)
You have the wrong sport, but on behalf of my wife, a proud Georgetown graduate, I will say "no."
John, nyc
What to do with Thomas Jones? He snagged a td yesterday but Leon Washington suuuure looks good. Thoughts?
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:26 PM)
The RBBC thing is a much better strategy for NFL teams, but it sure is making fantasy football tough, isn't it? When do we start going to leagues with three starting RB and a flex?Anyway, it was a nice game, but come on, Jones is the starter for the Jets and he's the guy with most of the fantasy value, both in the past and the future.
Drew (Amarillo Texas)
is Peyton Manning at the end of the road career wise
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:26 PM)
Wow. I feel very, very, very safe saying "no" to this one. Have some patience, man.
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:27 PM)
Wow. I feel very, very, very safe saying "no" to this one. Have some patience, man.
billy (detroit)
what do you think the lions will do with the first draft pick assuming they get it.
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:28 PM)
I said Michael Oher a couple of weeks ago, but I guess people now are thinking he may be a better player on the right side. While I love taking a tackle number one, I would see where the Lions would want to go quarterback, which means Michael Stafford of Georgia instead of Andre Smith of Alabama.
GJ (Harlem, NY)
Mr. Schatz Caller! Big Boss of the FO! A question about your DAVE / DVOA stat formulas...is there any accounting for the Jeckyl / Hyde performances some teams (like my Bucs, sigh) turn in--depending on if they are on the road or at home? Also, when are you guys gonna make Fantasy Football a bigger part of the site? (Although the stat breakdowns help a LOT of one knows what they are looking for...)
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:32 PM)
You'll probably always get me to respond to a FO-specific question... In the spirit of Charles Van Doren, I would like to take the second part first. Bill Barnwell is working on a number of fantasy football ideas that we might add to our Premium section next year. So we're looking out on that stuff. As for the first question -- I've played around with a way to add home-field advantage into DVOA, particularly to try to measure consistency from week-to-week, and I've never come up with anything I'm comfortable enough with to make part of the regular formula. I don't know how much we can learn from a team's specific home-road discrepancy in one single season... that's a small sample size where a couple of extreme games will make things look really out of whack.
Jose (El Paso)
Hey Aaron, what do you think about Matt Ryan? Is he becoming a legit fantasy starter going forward this year?
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:34 PM)
I don't think he's an every week starter, but he's the kind of guy you can play around with depending on matchups, certainly. The Falcons actually have an easier schedule of opposing defenses going forward -- they get the Saints twice and the Rams, although that last one won't help you in a league that has playoffs and doesn't count Week 17. I'm really impressed by Ryan this year, and Roddy White has developed to the point where he is actually the most valuable receiver of the year so far according to the Football Outsiders DYAR stats.
Doug (PA)
It's Matthew Stafford
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:35 PM)
See, this is why I leave the draft coverage to guys like Mike Tanier, heh.
steve (issaquah, wa)
Aaron, With Kevin Curtis back what do you see happening with Desean Jackson? Who is the better fantasy option?
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:36 PM)
Actually, I doubt anything happens with Jackson. They're going to start Jackson and Curtis, and with the way Jackson has played this year, I would still consider him the top option. Curtis is taking playing time away from dudes like Hank Baskett and Jason Avant.
John (CA)
Aaron, as a Raider fan, I compeletly agree with your assesment.... but what are the odds of the NFL actually stepping in? Has it been done before? It's tough to be a Raider fan these days....
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:37 PM)
Look on the bright side; it is better than being a Seattle Supersonics fan.
James (Bonita Springs)
up by 9 points with the Titans D/St against Lendale White and Dallas Clark...i know there is a chance but how small of one??
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:38 PM)
It's not ridiculous. You need a touchdown from the Ten D without one from White. Root hard for Mr. Johnson, I guess.
Bob Ma
Best option for Romo owner : Garrard or Edwards ?
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:42 PM)
Jacksonville plays Cincinnati and Detroit over the next two weeks. For those of us who drafted Garrard back in August, this is what we've been waiting for. If you can get him to replace Romo in Weeks 9-10, jump at it.
Kevin (Tampa, FL)
Aaron, this was the best week for the Bucs to face the Cowboys but they came up short. Should I be worried for the rest of the year or was this a misrepresentation of their abilities?
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:44 PM)
Well, I don't think it was a misrepresentation of their abilities. Tampa Bay has an average offense and a very good defense. They played another good team and it was a defensive battle. That's life, you don't win 'em all. Still, the Bucs rank sixth overall in the FO DVOA ratings, and they rank 30th in quality of remaining schedule, with only Miami and Buffalo having easier remaining schedules. I see no reason why this team won't be in the playoffs, probably as NFC South champion -- yes, ahead of Carolina.
Haden (Memphis)
What is DVOA? I read your articles sometimes, but don't know what that means.
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:47 PM)
Aha! We try to always link to the explanations page -- look for a link a the top of each week's Numbers Crunching to a page that explains all the Football Outsiders stats. The basic explanation is this: DVOA takes every single play during the NFL season, grades it on success based on down-and-distance, and then adjusts based on situation and opponent. I almost always give ranks when I discuss DVOA on ESPN so people don't have to worry about figuring out whether "25%" is very good or just sort of good... everyone understands the concept of ranking teams 1-32.What makes DVOA such a good way to analyze NFL teams is that it is based on individual plays. Although it may not be the most absolutely accurate overall power rating, it can do something no other power rating does -- it can analyze matchups by looking at performance on certain downs, or certain parts of the field, or by certain players, and so on. Football is a game of matchups, not a game where a team that ranks higher in an overall power rating will always beat the team that ranks lower...Hope that's a good explanation. Feel free to email mailbag-at-footballoutsiders.com with other questions.
Christian (baltimore)
i heard rumors that ocho cinco was suppose to be traded to the ravens next season. is that true and what kind of impact would he had on the ravens offense
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:49 PM)
Here's a hint: Don't believe any rumor that has to do with a trade that won't take place until three months from now. Don't believe any rumor that has to do with a trade within a division. Also, don't take any wooden nickels.
Tim (Seattle)
12 team Keeper league...safe to drop Torry Holt now?
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:50 PM)
I gotta think the guy has some use on your bench for this season, anyway, in case other receivers get injured, or for weeks he plays the 49ers or something, right?
Matt (Oregon)
Im going into tonights matchup down 5, i have titans defense and bironas. He has chris johnson. You think im still in it?
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:50 PM)
Remember the guy from a couple of questions ago who I told to root for Johnson to score instead of LenDale White? HE IS YOUR ENEMY AND MUST BE DESTROYED.
Brian (Amarillo, Tx)
Im not condoning gambling.......but do you think Indy will cover tonight.
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:51 PM)
I am not condoning gambling either, but I must tell you, no matter how much Peyton Manning and/or Bill Polian whine about it, the Titans will not be covering LP Field with a roof before the game.
Joe ( Pittsburgh)
Aaron, I have a 39 point lead, The opponent has Rob bironas and dallas Clark, I am good Right>?>>?
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:52 PM)
These "Is my fantasy team going to be ahead after MNF" questions do get progressively more ridiculous, don't they?
Steve (LA)
Rank these WR's production for the rest of the year: Santonio Holmes, Donnie Avery, Dwayne Bowe, Antonio Bryant and Jerricho Cotchery
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:54 PM)
I'm not going to answer this question. I just want to point out that it currently appears in the queue something like 37 times. Really, you guys should check things out from this side. It's very strange. Also recommended: The CD "Alpacas Orgling" by the "ELO tribute band" L.E.O.
John (Miami)
How do you think the #1 pick of the draft, Jake Long, has done so far this season?
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:56 PM)
He seems to be doing pretty well. Obviously, the Dolphins offense has been playing a lot better than anyone expected, and Long does play some part in that. Also, do you realize Long has not been penalized once all year for a false start, and he's only been flagged once for anything (a declined offensive hold) since Week 2?
Chris (Saratoga Springs)
Do you think Shannahan will be gone if the Broncos miss the playoffs?
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (6:59 PM)
No. Shanahan is very close with Pat Bowlen and I think he has Fisher/Cowher level job stability. No matter what the ups and downs of the talent, Bowlen knows Shanahan is a winning football coach. If you want to know more about Shanahan's personality, by the way, definitely read Stefan Fatsis' "A Few Seconds of Panic," his book about going to Denver training camp as a placekicker. Lots of interesting Shanahan personality stuff in there.
Joe (Pittsburgh) Here we go Stillers!!!
An actual Football question here... I really see this game as a blowout in Tenn's favor. Your thoughts?
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (7:00 PM)
You don't get a lot of blowouts from rushing-and-defense teams, really. They just don't run the kind of offensive plays that result in blowouts. I think it will be a close game and I also think there's a 50-50 chance that those obnoxious 1972 Dolphins pop the cork on the champagne tonight.
Aaron Schatz of Football Outsiders (7:01 PM)
And that does it for me. Stick around for more fun MNF talk with Doug Kretz of Scouts Inc. and then my boy from FO Doug Farrar, who is already angry that I mentioned the Seattle Supersonics and their evil move to Oklahoma City.
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:02 PM)
Thanks Aaron.. OK, lets keep this MNF chat going.. Good game tonight.. Who will win??By the way, Farrar is not the only one that is angry over that move.. Sonics fan since the early 60's here..
chris (TX)
is Mike Singletary's passion gonna hurt him in the long run?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:03 PM)
Chris.. No, I don't see it hurting him, in the long run. It's easier to tone down the passion, in time, than it is to try and dial it up. Players love playing for a coach that has a passion for the game. They HAVE to have a passion to play the game and want to play for someone that displays that same kind of passion..
Ryan Spokane, WA
Curious on your opinion of who's the toughest runner in the NFL this year between Marion Barber and Clinton Portis.
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:05 PM)
Ryan. Different kind of players. Both run the ball hard, but Barber is a slasher that relies on a tough running style while Portis is more elusive and can be creative on his own, but also has a violent running style that can be used when needed. Barber probably is more punishing but Portis has played with a lot of pain throughout his career and is, in no means, NOT a tough runner..
Joe ( Pittsburgh)
Another Monday huh Doug, What happened yesterday with the Steelers, injuries? Playcalling or a better team right now? Thanks
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:06 PM)
I think the Giants match up well with the Steelers.. Pitt has struggled when it comes to protecting Big Ben (and he tends to hold on to the ball too long) and the G men can attack the pocket from so many angles with the blitz.
David (TX)
Who is the best second round skill player this year, Donnie Avery, Jordy Nelson, Eddie Royal, Matt Forte or Desean Jackson?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:08 PM)
I'd have to go with DeSean Jackson. Too many ways he can hurt you - through the pass as well as punt returns.
Woody
Who is going to win tonight?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:09 PM)
Can't go against the Titans, at home.
Christian (baltimore)
Do you think the ravens offense is starting becoming more high power (beside the colts and titans game they have been able to score 20 points. When the ravens score 20 or more points and that saying something) or is it just because most teams dont expect the ravens to show the offense there showing now and will adapt to it soon.
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:10 PM)
I think they are opening up the playbook each week which results in them becoming more explosive as the QB is learning..
Anthony (OKCity)
What are your thoughts on Cowboys rookie Orlando Scandrick....IMO he was a steal in the 5th round they way he is playing so far and bettering the 1st rounder Jenkins
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:12 PM)
I'd have a hard time saying that he is outplaying Jenkins for the season, as a whole, but I WOULD say that he has been a steal.
Chris (Saratoga Springs)
Hey Doug, do you see Bill Cowher on the Browns sideline next year?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:12 PM)
Not unless he ends up with an office right next to Randy Learner at the same time..
marcus (indiana)
do you think the eagles will make the playoffs and how
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:13 PM)
Yes, I do.. the G men will win the division and the Iggles will be a wild card team (the NFC could have three teams in the post season)..
T-Man (Wash ST)
HEY I HAVE BEEN A SUPERSONICS FAN MOST OF MY LIFE!! NBA is dead to me this year. On that note, do you believe Seattle will have an NBA team within say 5-7 years?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:15 PM)
Last NBA question.. Yes, I see it happening in the next 5-7 years.
marcus (indina)
how do u think the dolphins could get in it
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:15 PM)
If they buy a lot of tickets.
Marshall (Nashville TN)
hey im from TN and to us it seems like were not getting any respect. If the Titans win tonight do we get any. And does our defense take us to the Super Bowl?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:16 PM)
You must not have been reading my chats.. I think I have said every week that the Titans will be in the Super Bowl this year.. Defense wins rings, offense wins supporters..
john (chicago)
Just got offered Thomas Jones and Steve Slaton for Adrian Peterson. good trade?I get Jones and Slaton. My other RBs are Darren McFadden and Chester Taylor
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:20 PM)
I'd take Peterson.. He's averaging 4.5/per and the Vikings HAVE to run the ball to move the chains and get the ball into the end zone.. He's their best weapon, by far !!
Jesse (VA)
scaife a good enough starting te for me for the rest of the year? seems like the te class that was supposed to be strong this year is pretty weak
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:22 PM)
I like Scaife to put up more big numbers the rest of this season. The Titans' ground game is picking up steam and the more powerful the ground game becomes the more the TE becomes an integral part of the offense.. They compliment each other..
Marshall (Nashville TN)
What dominates in tonights game, the Titans run game, or the defensive presure on Manning forcing INT.
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:23 PM)
The Titans' ground game.
marcus (indiana)
if a loss comes after this upcoming bye week, do u think mike singletary will get fired soon
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:24 PM)
Your kidding, right? No, Singletary is the coach through the end of the season.
ANDRE FROM WASH.DC
I DONT THINK THAT THE TENN. CAN STOP P. MANNING
Dreal (btown)
Doug, do Peyton and Harrison/Wayne get it back on track tonight?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:25 PM)
They will get their yards, but it won't be enough to win this game.
Christian (baltimore)
Most people say that the titans defense is as good as the 00 baltimore defense. I cant put them on the same level until they have some shut out. do you agree (ravens had 4 shutout i think in 00)
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:28 PM)
I think the 00 defense was better but not for the same reasons.. Different defensive philosophies - Baltimore's defense was more aggresssive and could afford to gamble because they were more dominating in the back end.. Titans' defense, this year, is more based on stopping the run and not giving up the big play via the pass...
Jesse Oregon
Hey doug whats your predictions on dallas clarks stats for tonight?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:31 PM)
He will put up big numbers because Manning won't have time to go deep (to Wayne and Harrison) very often and will need to check down to the underneath pass to his RB or Clark.. However I don't see him getting the ball in the EZ very often.
Max (Houston)
Doug do you think the Texans have an outside chance at making a run towards the playoffs?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:32 PM)
Marginal.. Only see one team making it from the AFC South (Tennessee). If a second team gets in it will be Indy..
Patrick Ewing JR ) Georgetown
Its Football Season. Who cares about bench players in the NBA. Who gets more points tonight? Lendale Or Johnson?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:33 PM)
Johnson will get more yards but LenDale will get the ball into the end zone more often.
scubasteve(smyrna,tn)
looking for a breakout game for lavelle hawkins . do you see that at all happening this week ??
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:34 PM)
No, I think Fisher will play it close to the vest and try to win this one on the ground.
Chris (Saratoga Springs)
Does Kerry start for the rest of the year? If they win the ring then what? Young's team next year or does Collins keep his job?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:36 PM)
If Collins starts for the rest of the year (and I think it is likely) I don't know how you can NOT start him when he takes you to the playoffs..
jerry, nj
lets go titans!!!
fttball545
colts are gonna destroy the titans this is their breakout game.
David (Titletown, USA)
Who is the biggest dissapointment so far Jacksonville, Cleveland, San Diego or Minnesota. Bigger surprize: Atlanta or Tennessee
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:37 PM)
Dissapointment - MinnesotaSurprise - Atlanta
Kyle (NYC)
I need TE help (but so does everybody, right?). Who do you like best for the rest of the year: John Carlson, Visanthe Shinacoe, Billy Miller, Alex Smith, or Donald Lee?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:37 PM)
Carlson
Chayanne New Milford
Do you think the seahawks have an oppurtunity at the playoffs
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:38 PM)
They have a better chance of snow skiing in Miami, in August.
stew
after the way the colts played against the packers, titans will probably cream them
John (IL)
E. Graham got all the carries yesterday and didn't do much. Does he do better vs. KC next week or am I in trouble at #2 FFB RB now?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:40 PM)
KC can't stop the run like Dallas can.. He will do better..
William (New York, NY)
Kerry is a FA after this season so if he doesn't come back, and he might not, I think it will be Vince's team next year.
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:41 PM)
Fisher will make a big push to resign Collins, after the season.
Chayanne (NJ)
Dallas is a beast
Eddie (Chicago_
So Orton won like 10 games a couple years ago then sent to the bench. Now he's back and we're doing good. It makes me question the Bears coaching staff (for the time we sent him to the bench for the higher draft pick and Griese)-am I wrong on this one?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:42 PM)
when you don't have a legit #1 QB you have to go with the hot hand..
Kyle (NYC)
Will Warrick Dunn get more than one measley carry next week against KC?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:43 PM)
I think so.. Gruden will want to attack KC from more angles, especially with speed to the outside..
Steve (LA)
Rank these WR's production for the rest of the year: Santonio Holmes, Donnie Avery, Dwayne Bowe, Antonio Bryant and Jerricho Cotchery
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:45 PM)
1) Bowe, 2) Cotchery, 3) Holmes 4) Bryant 5) Avery
Lee (Indianapolis)
why do the colts constantly let their top preforming linebackers go in free agency
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:46 PM)
Too much money invested in Manning, Harrison, Wayne, Freeney and Sanders and not enough money left over for the other stars..
Joe (Indiana)
I have a feeling Darren McFadden is going to have a defining game against Atlanta, any chances of this coming to life?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:47 PM)
Based on the way they stopped Westbrook this past weekend I'd say there is a good chance.
evansville
Who thinks Colts will lose 2nite
Michael(Seattle)
is Vincent Jackson becoming an elite receiver? And do you see him putting up similar numbers in the second half?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:47 PM)
Not quite elite, but a very good one.
Chris (Saratoga Springs)
We know Singletary will be there the rest of the way, but what about Martz? Seems like they could be headed in two different directions on JTO and Hill...
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:48 PM)
If Singletary is the head coach in 2009, I'd guess Martz will be gone.
Joe (Indiana)
Is Ted Ginn Jr. a legit threat against Denvers banged up corners and pass defense problems?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:49 PM)
He is a threat but I don't see a lot of focus on him when they scheme the Broncos.. Teams don't like to game plan for a lot of downfield passes when playing away from home, especially in a noisy environment, like Denver.
Lichenstein (Louisiana)
Do you think the saints are the most underachieving team in the NFL 2008, or would that title go to the Colts?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:50 PM)
To this point of the season I'd go with the Colts wining that dubvious honor.
Joe (MI)
should the Lions get rid of Marenelli now or at the end of the season?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:51 PM)
Wait until the end of the season. There is little to gain by getting rid of him, now. It's not all his fault.
scubasteve(smyrna,tn)
with gage and mcariens starting tonite , will fisher and dinger try to put it in the air when they bring 8 or 9 in the box ? will this help crumpler in the redzone , having these two back
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:53 PM)
I think Fisher will try to run it first (even against 8 or 9 in the box) and take some downfield shots but if they can't run the ball effectively I'd see Crumpler and Scaife being more of a focus for the passing game..
Michael(Seattle)
Doug, is Ronnie B going to get back on track this week? I'm a little worried after he expoded against the Pats and Chargers.
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:54 PM)
I'd expect him to have a big game against the Broncos..
andrew, long island, ny
how bout joey porter for dpoy?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:55 PM)
I'd go with Haynesworth first..
Josh (Knoxville)
If the Titans win tonight, where do you see them possibly losing a game? They have the Pack and Steelers and one more round in the AFC South...
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:57 PM)
I could see them struggling in Chicago (Nov 9).
Michael(Seattle)
Who do you like better tonight Doug, the plumpy White or Chris Johnson?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:58 PM)
White to put the ball into the EZ and Johnson to gain the yards.
KC (sunshine band)
Fasano was touted at earlier in the season. Now he is losing looks. Is he still a viable starter, or is Greg Olsen a better play for the rest of the season?
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:59 PM)
I'd like Olsen, at this point.
jesse austin, texas
titans are gonna win tonite
Scouts Inc.'s Doug Kretz (7:59 PM)
Out of time guys.. Enjoy the game tonight.. Should be a physical one..
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:00 PM)
Hello everyone -- ready to talk Titans, Colts, and the NFL in general. Let's start with the big news if you haven't heard -- Kyle Vanden Bosch is OUT. Haynesworth is still the man in the middle, but that's the story on the edge for Tennessee. Let's talk some football!
Dan (Boston Ma)
I guess no one wants to answer questions about addai?what does the rest of his season look like?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:01 PM)
Dan, I'm not sure about his health, but the Colts' O-line currently ranks 29th in FO's Adjusted Line Yards stat. Stretch play or no, you need power up front to get the run game moving.
Michael(Seattle)
What are the odds Plaxico gets shut down for the rest of the year ala T.O. and Keyshawn? It seems like he doesn't care.
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:02 PM)
Somewhere between none and none.
Jeff(Columbia,SC)
Can the Colts rise to the challenge of proving they are still alive and kicking tonight?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:03 PM)
They can, but what a challenge -- with all the talk about the Titans' front four and that run defense, their pass defense might be even better. And we're not even talking about that great offensive line. This is the team nobody wants to face right now.
rj (winnipeg)
Doug, which Q.B do you think will perform tonight
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:03 PM)
I'd go for Collins, to tell you the truth. Indy's o-line worries me and the play action pass is a non-factor for Peyton right now.
Jerry (OK)
Thoughts on Winslow for the season, after his injury and other issues?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:04 PM)
Haven't seen the kind of production I'd like from him even when healthy. Right now, he's probably lucky Mike Singletary isn't his coach.
scott coale (lone)
Who's better: Peyton or Eli? Who's better this season? And who do you think will be better when their careers are done?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:06 PM)
Right now, Eli has the better supporting cast. I'd hesitate to use the word "better" because so much depends on what you have around you. Given equal situations, I'd give the nod to Peyton but Eli's situation is far, far better this year.
Rob (Boston)
You see Lendale bustin out two weeks in a row?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:06 PM)
Against this run defense? Certainly.
Kyle (NYC)
I need TE help (but so does everybody, right?). Who do you like more for the rest of the year: John Carlson, Visanthe Shinacoe, Billy Miller, Alex Smith, or Donald Lee?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:07 PM)
Probably Carlson just because there's nothing else in Seattle. Have to say though, I like what I've seen of Miller -- just my selective viewing has impressed me.
D (SoCal)
Desperately need a productive WR for flex and match up considerations. Looking to pick up one, possibly two guys off waivers. Who do you like best...Kevin Curtis or Brandon Lloyd? Would you drop Josh Morgan to get both? Thanks for your help.
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:08 PM)
Probably Curtis, and I wouldn't touch any 49ers receiver right now.
Colts still have a chance!
I know they haven't hit it yet but this is still the Colts. They COULD put up 38, 41 or more points tonight and win. They do have the talent..
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:09 PM)
Yes, they do. What they don't have this year us the balance. About 100 more pass attempts than rushes -- when you give the playbook to a defense this good, you're asking for trouble.
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:09 PM)
That said, the Colts absolutely have the potential to blow up as they did against the Ravens.
Colts Fan
What is Bob Sanders status for the game tonight?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:10 PM)
Bob's out, to the Colts' eternal dismay. They could really use him against this run game.
candy (san fran)
fantasy impact of events with s. holmes and mcallister?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:11 PM)
No clue what will happen with disciplinary issues with either player -- last I heard is that Duece will be able to play before the hearingbut I have no idea how long that is. Don't know on Holmes.
Michael(Seattle)
Doug, who wins and why tonight?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:12 PM)
Michael, I have to go with the Titans. They're just too strong on both lines, even without Vanden Bosch.
Charles, Los Angeles
Is Edge droppable now? Do you see Hightower getting more chances?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:13 PM)
Same % of goal-line, to be sure. And the Cards have three aerial targets now in Fitz, Boldin and Breaston. Not sure where Edge fits in.
Derek
What is Jason Whitten's status for the rest of the season?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:14 PM)
He's having an MRI? Too early to tell on these types of things -- Monday is the wait-and-see day.
Rod (tallahassee FL)
Come on doug...i need an answer before 8:30....Who backs up Rhodes??
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:15 PM)
With Mike Hart on IR, prob. Chad Simpson.
The Suits (Bristol)
Doug, do you care to explain these 'water pills' we found?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:15 PM)
I have a Football Outsiders weight clause! I swear!
Marshall, G-Rap
I'm down 27 in a PPR league and I've got Wayne and C. Johnson. Do I got a shot?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:16 PM)
A shot, but I think you'll need major bust-out from Wayne with Johnson and White splitting carries.
Lacey (MN)
When is it going to be okay to bench TO? I can't keep relying on him with Johnson throwing the ball!
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:17 PM)
Lacey, that's a very good question. I watched that game yesterday, and Johnson looks done to me. You have to wonder if they'll look at other options depending on Romo's status.
JOE L
Will Pittsburgh pick up a lineman to help Roethlisberger?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:18 PM)
Big Ben's best lineman at this point would be a quicker release.
Tim (MO)
Pick 2 C. Johnson, Lendale White, or D. Rhodes? I'm down by 33 and need to pick the right 2.
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:19 PM)
I'd say Johnson and White are your only shots. Rhodes is probably not having a good night against this D.
Mike, LA
Who's a better WR pickup Lance Moore or Nate Washington?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:21 PM)
I really like Moore, and he might get more looks even with Colston coming back with Bush still out. That's a case where you monitor opponents over the next few weeks.
Jake (Kansas City)
What did you think of Tyler Thigpen's performance yesterday? Was this just a one hit wonder or will he improve as the year goes on?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:23 PM)
He might have a few good spots, but I don't know what to tell you about consistency -- that team is in freefall.
joey porter
what do i need to do to be dpoy over albert haynesworth. ive been a disruptive force in every single game, lead in sacks, alot of qb hurries, force fumbles, what else do i need to do?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:27 PM)
Joey, I'd say you're close, but I'm stuill gong with Albert. When the Titans and Vikings played earlier this season, Minnesota was triple-teaming Haynesworth near the end of the game. And one of the linemen was Steve Hutchinson. He's still the most disruptive defensive force in the NFL.
Mike (Baltimore, MD
How do you feel about the Ravens Chances. Defense is playing stellar as long as they stay away from the Colts. Could you see them making a wild card run?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:29 PM)
Yes -- Flacco continues to improve and that defense is stellar. Some questions about the run game, but I like their chances. Also -- my apologies to Rod re: his question. Right now, the Colts' backup RB situation looks like a big box of "I don't know".
Tom (Cranston, RI)
In Pro Football Prospectus 2008, you guys said Baltimore's defense would be dominant again. How are they able to do stay dominant with 3/4 of their starting secondary out?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:30 PM)
Because their front seven is tremendous.
anthony tennessee
how many rushing yards will the titans have tonight? i say 280
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:31 PM)
Anthony, it's not a bad guess. You have to figure the Colts will come out expecting run, and if Collins can back them up, it's all over.
kevin winter haven fl.
do you think that the patriots could win the east, even though buffalo and the are ties for first?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:33 PM)
Right now, I still think the Bills are the better team. Wouldn't count the Pats out of a wild card, but the Bills have really impressed me.
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Is the Titan offensive line the best in the NFL? Who else's o-line would be in the argument?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:34 PM)
They're certainly up there, Mike. I would add the Giants and Broncos as well.
Thad, Portland
Hi Doug. I benched Peyton for Schaub this week and so far it has worked out, if Peyton plays well tonight should I try and trade him and rely on Schaub?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:35 PM)
I really like what Schaub is doing, but if you've got both of them, why not stick with it?
Mo (NY)
Are you really buying the titans as the best team in the NFL with Kerry Collins at QB? What about my giants?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:37 PM)
Mo, it's close. I'd call the lines and running games a draw, the Giants have the better QB and WR, Titans probably the better secondary. Both great coaches. It would be one heck of a Super Bowl, that's for sure.
Ghost (Boo)
You commented earlier about Winslow not living up to expectations. Where do you see him ranked for the rest of the season? Top 5? Top 10? Lower?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:38 PM)
Tough one, because that offense is so spiky. You never know what you're going ot get from Anderson. There are just certain seasons that feel like lost seasons., and that's what Winslow's feels like to me. Hope I'm wrong, but I can't place him top 10.
Jim
What do you think of the Giant's performance on Sunday? How do you think they look up to this point in the season?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:40 PM)
I think they did what championship teams have to do -- hit a rough environment, struggle through some rough spots, and get things done when it counted.
Josh (Knoxville)
Why do you think Kerry Collins is having success with the Titans?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:41 PM)
Because he's not asked to do all that much, really -- just keep the defenses relatively honest.
Mo (NY)
What do you see the raiders front office doing with Nnamdi Asomugha in the offseason? He is quietly the best corner in football and could shut down just about anyone in the game right now.
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:42 PM)
He's not quietly the best over at FO -- we won't shut up about how good he is! They'd have to franchise him again, you'd think. Or get a deal done. Not even that front office would let him go.
Joe (Indiana)
Collins is great at running the offensive scheme, he was pretty good in New York also.
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:43 PM)
Yeah, he's that good gama manager. it's a cliche, but sometimes it works.
Don
how good are the dolphins or are the bills just overated
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:45 PM)
I don' tthin kthe Bills are overrated at all. The Dolphins are the kind of team that will drive "better" opponents crazy because they're building around toughness and consistency. With all the Wildcat talk, those plays don't work if you don't have a great offensive line.
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
worried about the titans D injuries?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:46 PM)
Losing Vanden Bosch doesn't exactly help, but I'm confident in their ability to rally however they have to. Great coaching is a reward in that case.
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Tale of 2 different philosophies tonight. The Colts rely on speed and technique while the Titans rely on size and strength
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:47 PM)
Right. I'm interested to see how Freeney does against the Tennessee offensive line -- I wrote about him against Chad Clifton last week and Clifton pretty much took care of him. Don't know how much of that was the leg injury.
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
Also- they lost Ball, the replacement starter for KVB on the opening kickoff.
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:48 PM)
Zoikes! That's the problem with chatting and watching -- you don't do much watching...
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Doug, honestly, the Fins don't run the Wildcat as much as people think. It's a bit outrageous how much publicity it has gotten. When watching the game Sunday, they ran a lot of standard plays that went for large chunks of yards.
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:49 PM)
Brendan, I agree. That team will be a lot more fundamentally sound than people imagine, because that's the way Parcells builds them.
Larry (Kansas City, MO)
When am I going to be suspended, and for how long. Will I be fantasy relevant again?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:49 PM)
Soon, I don't know, and not with your current team.
Josh, Morristown
What is going on with MJD? Is he ok?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:51 PM)
Josh, I have heard nothing about any injury. I'm sure he'll get his touches in time.
Mark (Philadelphia, PA)
do you think the eagles have any chances to make a wild card spot in the NFC East
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:52 PM)
Brutal division, even with the current questions about the Cowboys. At this point, the Magic 8-ball says "No".
John (miami)
Target Ted Ginn Jr off the waiver wire? or mark that game as a complete fluke?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:53 PM)
I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's a complete fluke, but I'd wait a few more weeks before putting anything on that number.
Mike (Lexington, KY)
With most of the focus in the NFC on the East division, how much are the Panthers being overlooked?? Are they a sleeper should they make the playoffs?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:55 PM)
Right now, I'd have to say that I like their chances. Good power running game (though the o-line injuries are a concern) and the passing game and defense are working. Fox will always keep them in the hunt as long as he doens't have the same kind of ridiculous injury stretch he had last year.
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
Doug- there is a game going on right now...
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:56 PM)
Titans outside to stop the run -- get used to it, Colts.
Mo (NY)
Eli is rightfully getting some credit after winning superbowl mvp but he cantn seriously be better than peyton. Do you think he is worth that 100 million $ contract rumored to be in the works 2 weeks ago?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:58 PM)
In a better situation, yes. Better? Probably not. Thing you have to remember about NFL contracts is that they're not all they're cracked up to me. There's guaranteed money and non-guaranteed.
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
Tenn's one weakness on D is that short pass.
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:58 PM)
They do close really well, though.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Big Ben signed a 100 mil contract, why not Eli?
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (8:59 PM)
Big Ben has something like $33 mil guaranteed, plus a "hazardous activities" clause.
Bobby
against peyton, you got to concentrate on not allowing those big game-breaking passes. they do that well.
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (9:00 PM)
Sure -- focus on that and zoom in on the underneath stuff.
Mo (NY)
Doug i like you....you give my giants and nnamdi props and you actually answer my questions
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (9:01 PM)
Thanks, Mo and everyone else -- it's always a pleasure. Time for me to vamoose and hand things over to your Beloved Buzzmaster!
Football Outsiders Doug Farrar (9:01 PM)
Buzzmaster (9:02 PM)
Beloved might be a little strong. Thanks, Doug. And thanks to all our MNF chatters. Now it's in your hands, SportsNation.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
BUZZ, the main event!
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
Nice- now we can actually talk some football!
Buzzmaster (9:03 PM)
If by football, you mean punting, then yes.
Mark (Philadelphia, PA)
Last Question, Which team has the biggest chance to win the AFC West
Buzzmaster (9:04 PM)
Let's go to the daily tracking polls on that one.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
When you say football, do you mean soccer?
Buzzmaster (9:04 PM)
Hull City all the way!
Punt-O-Meter (LP Field)
And with that we have our 2nd punt.
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
Got my 35 cent wings tonight, a good pitcher of beer. I'm ready to rock and/or roll...
Buzzmaster (9:05 PM)
With that menu, roll sounds the more likely option.
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
Hey the boom and the bang are gonna lay it to the colts Buzz
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Peyton comes alive.
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Ugghh the Vols and their sissy orange
Buzzmaster (9:06 PM)
We'll only allow that because they're your neighbors.
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
hmmm, dare I start playing the drink per punt game?
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
Yeah the vols have that sissy orange, unlike Syracuse, we have the manly orange.
Buzzmaster (9:07 PM)
At least you've got that going for you.
Buzzmaster (9:07 PM)
TD Colts to Dallas Clark!
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
I even have leftover wings for a little halftime snack...
Buzzmaster (9:07 PM)
You have wings to chase your wings?
CG (Waco)
Whoa Peyton got popped but they made it.
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
Titans D doesnt look like Titans D
Buzzmaster (9:08 PM)
Or the Colts O looks like the Colts O. Wow, did I just blow your mind or what?
Heather&Britt(Cookeville, TN)
GO TITANS
CG (Waco)
You got me craving some wings now. I'll go get some at halfitme.
Buzzmaster (9:09 PM)
The great, eternal wing question: BBQ or Hot?
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Never underestimate P Manning...he's like good er something
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
I might have had the worst fantasy week of all time, scored 34 points ... my opponent scored 47 - still has Clark... just padding stats.
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
I need to make up 27 points and I have Chris Johnson and the Titans D. My opponent has Dallas Clark... I'm thinking I'm gonna lose...bad...
BongoMZ
Gijon Robison went to Missouri Western State University, NOT Mississippi State you moron
Buzzmaster (9:10 PM)
There's a Missouri Western State?
Ogre (Adams College)
Fantasy football is for NERDS!
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
Hot wings! The only way to go. If you want BBQ, make some drum sticks...
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Hot. Ranch. Celery on the side... JUST TO LAUGH AT... and wonder why they always serve it with wings? Does anyone really eat the celery?
Buzzmaster (9:10 PM)
I like it. Cools down the hot.
CG (Waco)
My fanstasy game is in the bag. Thank you Santana Moss. Oh yeah BBQ wings all the way Buzz.
Ephraim R. (Thomasville, GA)
hot with chunky blu cheese and celery, thank you.
Buzzmaster (9:11 PM)
Not chunky with hot blu cheese?
BongoMZ
Believe it or don't
Mike (Lexington, KY)
OMG get your gun wings are pretty good
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Whoa, nice throw Kerry. Pulled a Favre, but your elderly wisdom really helped out... you knew it was going to be a gimme play when that flag was thrown.
Ryan
Blue cheese, never ranch.
Buzzmaster (9:12 PM)
That I'll agree with.
JP (Nashville)
All right, a solid crew of refs tonight headed by Mike Carey!
Ephraim R. (Thomasville, GA)
or blu with hot chunky. can't miss with any of them.
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
Where is the Titans running game?
Buzzmaster (9:13 PM)
Still winded for its last game.
Buzzmaster (9:13 PM)
But Collins picks up the third and long through the air there.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Nice throw, sir.
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
Just like Buster Poindexter, I like it hot hot hot!
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Steve, I believe they are throwing it more to get them out of the box. Then they can start running more effectively.
Buzzmaster (9:14 PM)
Wow, I think Alge Crumpler is bigger than most of the Colts D-linemen.
Paul is GOD (Seymour, CT)
Where is the Colts D...oh yeah on IR
PAul
Exactly
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
I bet Lendale White likes his wings hot, with ranch and blue cheese. With a side of bacon wrapped in pig lard...
Buzzmaster (9:15 PM)
You say that like it's a bad thing.
Buzzmaster (9:16 PM)
And it's 7-3 Colts at the end of the first quarter.
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
Lendale does his best work at the dinner table.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
That would probably taste amazing.
Buzzmaster (9:17 PM)
Sort of like the minor league baseball team that serves the hamburgers between two Krispy Kreme donuts.
Lendale White (end of 1st quarter)
I like my wings with anything. Like with all fat guys, it's quantity as much as it is quality
Mike (Lexington, KY)
that see food diet has served Lendale well
PAul
whoa that sounds tasty
Kyle (MT)
If the Colts can shut down the ground game for the remainder of the game then they'll run away with this game no problem. I can't believe TN is undefeated with Collins only having thrown three TD's thus far this season.
Buzzmaster (9:19 PM)
How many did Dilfer throw when he won a SB? 11? 12? Sometimes you don't need them.
clueless
what channel is espn on?
Buzzmaster (9:19 PM)
CNN
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
woo, Rob Bironas, can you break your FG record tonight?
Mike (Lexington, KY)
One quarter and no metion of V Young....kudos....oops did I just metion him
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
I think the titans run LW to just make the defense apathetic so CJ can come in and bust one.
Biggs (Indy)
Run D looking good so far... keep it up!
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
Lendale is making his run to replace Mawae at center.
Jay (NY)
Premature cannonulation. I hate when that happens.
CG (Waco)
What the heck? Did a cannon go off before the kick?
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
Did I ever say how much i hate commercials?
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
This Bud light commercial is getting me hungry. All that food... no wings though.
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
Could Lendale even bend over to hike the ball???
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
They need a channel, that is only commercials. Just for Steve.
Buzzmaster (9:21 PM)
I believe that's called MTV.
PAul
whats with wings and you people
Paul is GOD (Seymour, CT)
Yeah, that was Rob's powerful foot ha.
Ad man (Making Money)
Speaking of commercials, who saw that Guitar Hero commercial with Kobe? For once it made be laugh.
John Madden (at home)
You know Buzz, this is great. I love the fat guys and Lendale White is a fat guy. You give him the ball and he attacks it like he's chasing dinner. BOOM!
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
They almost iced there own kicked with that cannon. Awesome.
Buzzmaster (9:23 PM)
Better to be iced by a canon in Tennessee than, say, New Jersey. Or Sicily.
Mike (Lexington, KY)
nasty collision...oh man
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
That doesn't look good.
Buzzmaster (9:24 PM)
Was it the Titans the Colts were playing last year when Darrell Reid had the ESPY hit on the kickoff coverage?
Jay (Findlay, OH)
could anyone see if he was moving at all?
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
I was going to make the Piper is down! Repeat Piper is down! joke here. But, that didn't look very good. Hope he gets up...
Jay (NY)
Did someone just ask what's with us and wings? Man card, hand it over.
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
That was a rough hit, and the trainers looked like they were in a bit of a frenzy.... I hope everything is ok.
Buzzmaster (9:25 PM)
Yeah, that didn't look good at all.
Matt (IN)
Buzz...yes on the Darrell Reid question
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
Thats a fine...where is the flag on that hit? We see flags nearly every other play.
Buzzmaster (9:25 PM)
Least he's sitting up.
Paul is GOD (Seymour, CT)
Colts will score on this possesion...i can feel it.
Buzzmaster (9:26 PM)
Now that he's up and walking, insert canon joke here ...
Mike (Lexington, KY)
clap clap....glad he is ok
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Lights out hit, he's walkin though, always a good sign.
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
SWEET! He is up!
Eddie (Indianapolis)
Here come's an 80 yard drive down the field
Buzzmaster (9:27 PM)
So while the Colts have the ball, what's your take on them? Over the hill? Just a slow start? Still good but too injured this year?
Buzzmaster (9:28 PM)
And by while they have the ball, I mean, while they throw an interception.
Paul is GOD (Seymour, CT)
that was the worst shake n bake i've seen in my life
Paul is GOD (Seymour, CT)
I meant interception
Mike (Lexington, KY)
And the big turnover
CG (Waco)
While the Colts have the ball? You jinxed them Buzz.
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Good call Paul
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Indy's problems start with health
Buzzmaster (9:29 PM)
Wow, I don't think he was down there.
Buzzmaster (9:29 PM)
But they say the Titans keep the ball on the near fumble.
Eddie (Indianapolis)
Fumbleeeeee
Mike (Lexington, KY)
this is a charitable game...here you have it no you take it
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
and a fumble back to the Colts...
Buzzmaster (9:30 PM)
Wow, no challenge?
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Can't challenge it now.
Eddie (Indianapolis)
that was so cheap!
Mike (Lexington, KY)
No replay? oops on Dungy
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
Wow, how did Dungy not throw the flag?!?!
Anthony (Seymour, CT)
Whenever I "watch" a Colts' game online I hit the refresh button like 300 times between plays and get pissed that my computer is frozen. Peyton kills me with the on the line audibles and reads.
Matt (IN)
Um, down by contact? Is that Ed Hochuli in there?
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
HAAHAH, wow, that was a sure pick. Lucky.
Buzzmaster (9:31 PM)
What the heck is going on out there. Getting sloppy.
CG (Waco)
You would think it was raining with all of these drops.
Paul is GOD (Seymour, CT)
HOW DO YOU DROP THAT!!!!????
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Could we catch a ball PLEASE
Buzzmaster (9:32 PM)
Old Colts fans had flashbacks to Q Coryatt in the 95 AFC title game on that dropped pick.
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
I think the Colts still have a superb offense, and that Peyton is the best quarterback to every play the game. And no, I'll never take my Orange-tinted glasses off.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Kerry missed a guy wide open down the middle right.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Rob Bironas only needs what, 6 more fgs to break his record?
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Mathis can sky
Buzzmaster (9:33 PM)
And Bironas shanks the kick left. Crazy sequence but nothing doing for either team.
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
I'm not quite getting the Titans offensive gameplan. Seem to be throwing it a whole lot more than they have been. It's not like the Colts are the first team this year to stack the line of scrimmage to stop the run...
PAul
no running no touchdowns
Paul (Paulville, CT)
wow thats good kicking! that was amazing!
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Wide Left...wasted opportunity but justice after the no-fumble call
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
7 more.... jumped the gun like the cannon.
Matt (IN)
Buzz I love ya...but don't EVER bring up that Coryatt play again. EVER. Don't make me summon ITG.
Buzzmaster (9:34 PM)
How about Lamont Warren not picking up the blitz?
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Playoffs? Don't talk about playoffs
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Shirts with random triangles....
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
Nice memory there buzz...impressive. I can't even remember what I ate for dinner tonight... Oh wait, wings. That's right!
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
No, it's 6 more.
Enrique, Long Island, NY
Another Field Goal - Tennessee isn't going to beat the colts if they don't get some TD's!
Matt (IN)
If you want to pour salt in that wound, how about Kordell Stewart running out of bounds then back in and scoring a TD? Or just say 'Aaron Bailey'
Buzzmaster (9:35 PM)
And now the Colts starting pounding the run. Up is down, right is left, cats and dogs living together.
Ross (Muncie,IN)
We really miss Addai
Paul (Paulville, CT)
The Titans aren't who we thought they were!
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Ghostbuster quotes...
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
I have to question the Titan's gameplan too. Kerry Collins can throw the ball well, but usually that's on a game-winning drive. Run, run, run.
Tina (Winnsboro, Tx)
My husband and I are in an argument about the teams whiching ends at the end of the quarter. I say they switch and he says they don't.. Please tell me who is right...
Buzzmaster (9:36 PM)
You
Jay (NY)
up up down down left right left right b a select start
Paul (Paulville, CT)
OMG Evan Longoria got a HIT!!
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
they switch, hes an idiot
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Colts are going bakcwards
CG (Waco)
Komani code reference is awesome!!!
Matt (IN)
So what's the score of the Rays game anyway?
Buzzmaster (9:38 PM)
2-1 Phillies in the 4th
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Jay, Contra?
Punt-O-Meter (LP Field)
Finally punt number 3!!!
Buzzmaster (9:39 PM)
This is a pretty star-studded punting matchup with Smith and Hentrich.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
there it is... was waiting on that
Mike (Lexington, KY)
If the Phillies win the WS, they will absolutely burn down that city....they will have to declare Marshall Law!!!
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
Wow, it just got really nerdy in here. I love it.
Brandon (London, Ky)
I need lots of Colt's points, I come in tonite tied in my fantasy league game, with only my opponent having the Titan's D left, NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD ROOT FOR PEYTON OR THE COLTS, BUT LETS GO!!!!!!!!!
Derek (Muncie, IN)
What is up with the refs this year? They seem sloppy this year. How can you not call that play a fumble during the game? Not just this game, but almost every week there has been at least 1 call that has resulted in a team winning (or not winning) a game because of the poor officiating. Sure the drive ended with a missed field goal, but then Indy had to punt on their next possession. What if they would have gotten the ball earlier? Maybe a touchdown, or a field goal? Oh well! Poor officiating!
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Anyone remember the final play from Remember the Titans? The Titans should run that with VY.
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
Does Vince Young ever play again for the Titans?
Buzzmaster (9:42 PM)
Good question. Does he still have a future as an NFL starter?
Mike (Lexington, KY)
some pretty good defense being played tonight
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Vince Young isnt going anywhere but I still think he isnt a good NFL QB
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
By default, yes he does, just because Kerry Collins will retire or be on the bench next year.
Punt-O-Meter (LP Field)
Punt number 4 coming up.
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
Vince Young definitely plays again for the Titans. You never know when Kerry Collins is gonna break a hip.
Paul (Paulville, CT)
These punts are so exciting!! I'm on the dge of my seat!
Tanner (Eugene, OR)
I agree with Derek from Muncie, IN.
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
Also, in regards to Young, with the success the Wildcat formation is having at Miami, I think there will be great demand for his particular skill set.
PAul
Here comes a touchdown drive
Will (Austin)
I knew people from Kentucky weren't that bright, but 'Marshall Law'? Honestly?Yes, people in that area of the country have no manners or respect for other people's property. Thus, if the Philly wins they'll have to declare MARTIAL law./facepalm
Pat (Chicago)
I need 2 more field goals from RRRROOOO RROOOO ROOODDDDD BIRONAS!
Buzzmaster (9:45 PM)
Is that Rob's brother?
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Baseball or puntfest? Well since I'm a Colts fan puntfest it is.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
So when the moment is right, you can be ready.... to punt.
larry(tn)
they need to rotate vince back in looks like
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Will, I saw that too and was thinking Marshall Faulk law? But I was born in Florida... so don't lump me in...
Jay (NY)
Practice? Is he talking about practice?
Ron (Ft Lauderdale, FL)
Does Payton ever throw to anyone but Clarke?
larry(tn)
wow the colts are actually running a lil bit
Eddie (Indianapolis)
21-6 after the colts first drive of 2nd half
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
So, Young is in the 3rd year of a 6 year 58 million contract. Except for the signing bonuses, he only gets a total of 12 million throughout the 6 years. If he becomes a bad distraction, they could actually cut/trade him and not be in terrible trouble...
Ross (Muncie,IN)
I don't know but Peyton throws to people other than Clark all the time.
Buzzmaster (9:48 PM)
True, he threw to the Titans' safety just a series or two ago.
Patrick (Louisville)
What on Earth is Will rambling about? ...and I know that isn't proper sentence structure.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
what game is eddie watching?
Mike (Lexington, KY)
I just love the grammar police
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
I meant a total of 12 milliong guarenteed over the 6 years...
larry(tn)
yea but the titans will have to draft a qb soon
Pat (Chicago)
Cool Eddie as long as its 21-15 after 3 more Bironas bombs
Matt (Knoxville, TN)
Maybe they should have made those Code Blue shirts longsleeve...
CG (Waco)
The Colts running game just came alive.
Ron (Ft Lauderdale, FL)
The Colts do have a running game!
Ross (Muncie,IN)
I wouldn't have said anything if he didn't spell both names wrong.
Buzzmaster (9:50 PM)
Colts grinding out a drive here with the third down conversion.
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Dallas Clark's skill set seems perfect for the Colts
PAul
told you they getting td drive
Justin (Ohio)
Bases loaded...full count and Utley grounds out.
Jay (NY)
The Waaaamulance always follows the Grammar police.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
oo, plus two for not spelling grammar .. grammer
Will (Austin)
When has Vince Young been a distraction since he got hurt? He's been a class act since Kerry took over and he's done everything Fisher and the coaches have asked of him. It's good he's finally getting some learning time in on the bench and getting the spotlight off of him. Let Kerry run this sad sad offense and take the pressure for awhile.
Ron (Ft Lauderdale, FL)
Payton needs a 300 yard + game tonight!
Buzzmaster (9:51 PM)
Another 3rd and long coming up after the two-minute warning.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Nice, go titans.
larry(tn)
the colts ar startin to look like the colts don't ya think?
Tmacc88
yes they are
Matt (IN)
Bob Lamey is the Colts radio guy and he kills me. He is constantly referring to Dominic Rhodes as Dominque Rhodes. He's like a sober Harry Carey
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
titans look pretty awful tonight.
Will (Austin)
Yeah, that had nothing to do with grammar and everything to do with someone thinking martial law was somehow related to a person, like Miranda rights.
Buzzmaster (9:53 PM)
Now don't go bringing Sex and the City into this.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
This Vizio football team could probably beat the Bengals.
Buzzmaster (9:54 PM)
Complete, but we're in pooch punt territory!
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Go for it
Grammar Police (GrammarLand)
Brenden, the conventional elispis contains three periods...
Mike (Lexington, KY)
u know Buzz these games seem to go by faster when chatting
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
While VY hasn't said anything bad about the team, he isn't learning anything. He sits on the bench by himself. He doesn't talk to coaches or to Collins to see what is going on.
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
Why not use a TO for the titans?
Patrick (Louisville)
Does the pooch punt count as a 1/2 punt for our punt counter guy.
Buzzmaster (9:56 PM)
Looks like it's pouring in Philly.
Ron Patient fin fan
Another Punt, all of the MNF games have this in common, Punt-O-Meter!
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
VY also doesnt seem to wear a headset. Simms seems like the backup/.
Punt-O-Meter (LP Field)
Punt number 5. Halfway to 10.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
WHOA LOOK AT THAT AMAZING PUNT!!
Phoenix Arizona
Peyton Manning is not looking comfortable throwing the ball like that one serious when the Colts went down and scored. As well as the Titan defensive doesn't look that good either.
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Man what an exciting punt
Justin (Ohio)
Buzz, this Will guy reminds me of Hurricane Jeff.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
and you spelled my name wrong... not Brenden.
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
And now we're just gonna see some knees.
Jay (NY)
Gor for it? Connect 4! Go for the bottom and go for the top! Go for it! Connect 4! Wow I'm a robot.
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
who cares about baseball
Ron Patient fin fan
Colts need a turnover after they got ripped off of the Fumble in the first quarter
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
If anyone wants to see some serious punting watch the Fins Bills game, Brandon Fields, Miami's punter, kicked 2 punts inside the 5... it was amazing.
Patrick (Louisville)
But, Buzz, its always sunny in Plilly...*ducking from thrown rotten fruit*
Buzzmaster (9:57 PM)
Colts playing with fire daring the Titans to play it out?
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
get out of bounds, rookie
Buzzmaster (9:58 PM)
That should do it for the half.
Zach Rastall (Marinette, WI)
Sorry I'm late, Buzz.
Buzzmaster (9:59 PM)
Take two laps and check back in the third quarter.
Will (Austin)
Yeah, Robert. That's completely untrue. A few ticked off reporters have written articles saying Vince sits by himself and whatnot, but it's categorically untrue.I've watched every single Titans game and I've seen him interacting with his teammates and talking things over with Kerry, etc.In the first quarter when Fuller broke up that pass Vince was out on the field celebrating with him as he came off. It was clear as day on the TV.Again, Vince has done everything right. You can't be faulting him for anything at this point.
CG (Waco)
Wing run time!!
Buzzmaster (9:59 PM)
Whoa, almost a fumble/interception/something.
eyesforyah (indianapolis)
im stuck here at work could somebody tell me the score. please!
Buzzmaster (10:00 PM)
7-6 Colts.
Patrick (Louisville)
Blah blah blah. We're not reading that Will.
Jay (NY)
Did Will just write the WIR?
Paul (Paulville, CT)
wow Johnson easy there bud
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
Oof... that'll make any coach take it in for the half.
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Next week in practice all defense players will get passes thrown right to them. Can't leave until they catch one.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Food time...
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
Will what titans games are you watching, I always see him on the bench, away from the team...
Buzzmaster (10:00 PM)
We'll be back for the third quarter!
Buzzmaster (10:15 PM)
And we're back.
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Eddie George was awesome and man I hated him.
Phoenix, Arizona
The Colts will blow the Titans out in the second half
Tom Moore (Nashville)
Sorry about not going for it when we were driving late and were on the Titans 42. Even though the Titans have extremely little big play capability and there were only :43 seconds left in the half I obviously enjoy showing zero confidence in our offense every week.
Nathan (MAine)
Some exciting plays, not much to show for them tonight. Good game, though.
Buzzmaster (10:16 PM)
Manning throws a lot of ugly balls that end up as TDs, but that was just ugly.
Patrick (Louisville)
So the boiler here is broken. Its cold.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Nice deflection.
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
If Eddie George got fat, would he be Lendale White?
MeOnly (Charlottesville, VA)
Why isn't Lendale White playing now?
Buzzmaster (10:18 PM)
Right now? Because the Colts have the ball. Overall, I'm not sure.
Horsecollar Tackle (Here)
Two times in a row and no one noticed
Nathan (Maine)
Have to gibe the Titans credit, they look good here. Some great defensive plays! I'm impressed.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Lendale white wasn't producing. Colts are playing fast.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Manning got HIT!
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Ugoh left the double team what an idiot
Patrick (Louisville)
It isn't a horsecollar if it occurs between the tackles. Look at it as an anti intentional grounding.
Buzzmaster (10:19 PM)
It's just hard to watch a running back with the last name Simpson.
Zach Rastall (Marinette, WI)
BOOM!
Nathan (Maine)
Didn't even make the correlation until now...shame on me
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Its a monsoon in Philly
Phoenix, Arizona
Like i said the Titans defensive is not that good
Pat (Chicago)
How much longer does OJ have to look for the real killer untill you give him a break Buzz. He is even infiltrating the prison sysytem to find him.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Wow, the whole city of Phoenix said that?
Patrick (Baltimore)
Buzz, been studying for an Electrical Engineering exam and have not been able to keep up with the game. Important information is all I ask...what is the punt tally this evening?
Buzzmaster (10:22 PM)
5? I think.
Nathan (Maine)
I disagree, Phoenix -- you don't go undefeated this long in the NFL with a bad defense.
Mike (Lexington, KY)
The Colts look like they came to play tonight
Pat (Chicago)
Yeah if not that good you mean best in the league, I agree Phoenix.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Where's punt-o-meter?
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Don't go up the middle please it won't work
Jay (NY)
OJ looks for the real killer just as much as most of us to work between 10-11am monday thru friday.
Zach Rastall (Marinette, WI)
We want punts!
Jay (NY)
Where's Rhodes I need 4 more yards from him!
Buzzmaster (10:23 PM)
Off Clark's fingertips in the endzone.
Patrick (Baltimore)
The score is 7-6 and there has only been 5 punts. We need to establish an over/under concerning the number of punts for the MNF game each week.
Buzzmaster (10:24 PM)
Off his fingertips into his hands this time. TD No. 2 for Clark.
Warrantsauceman
That's what I am talking about... all CLARKE, all the time !!!!
Patrick (Baltimore)
Joe Flacco would have caught the ball.
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Clark is puttin on a show!
Matt (IN)
That's another touchdown by Dallas. Code Blue indeed.
Steiny (NYC)
Now this is a feel good story. Pierre Garcon last year was playing WR for Mount Union College. Now he is returning punts and kickoffs for the Indianapolis Colts on Monday Night Football.
Peter (Burke, VA)
Manning frantically yells before the snap and then they score an all too easy touchdown. Perhaps he knows some type of magical chants?
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Patrick, I've been keeping off the Flacco comments. He's actually impressing lately.
Buzzmaster (10:25 PM)
He would have gotten the snap to Berger, that's for sure.
Ross (Muncie,IN)
onside kick
Matt (IN)
I got to meet Pierre in camp. Great guy, and fast. I was glad he made the team. I think he'll break a KO return before the season's over
Patrick (Louisville)
Thw world series is in a semi rain delay. The players stand in the rain, and everyone else puts kitty litter everywhere
Nathan (Maine)
Who would you guys rather have at TE? Tony Gonzalez or Dallas Clarke?
Patrick (Baltimore)
Brendan, all in due time. I am more excited for next year as a Ravens fan with a year under Cam Cameron's offense and Harbaugh at the helm. But who knows what can happen between now and then.
Patrick (Louisville)
Does Ross have inside info? We'll find out after 17 commercials...
Mike (Lexington, KY)
the titans need to answer...they aren't really built to come from too far behind
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Cam Cam might attempt another 1-15 season?
waukee,ia
sure the defense is playing fast but you need bruiser like LenDale cause Chris sure can't do anything
Matt (IN)
How's that other game going tonight...is it still 2-1 Phils?
Buzzmaster (10:29 PM)
Yep
Ross (Muncie,IN)
I kept track of commercials once during a normal sunday afternoon game. There were 125 commercials on 18 breaks. Not counting half time.
Matt (IN)
Uh oh, Grant Balfour is pitching. Everyone duck
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
I can't believe the baseball game is going on. I'm actually impressed. Usually baseball freaks out if it sprinkles...
Pat (Chicago)
Ross you sure live a thrilling life my man!
Matt (IN)
Man, that was a late flag. Can't dispute the call I guess but geez
Ross (Muncie,IN)
I guess they're not going to show the penalty
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
HEhe, good job ref, keep those calls coming.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
C'mon Kerry, please sir, man up and throw the ball.
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Yep college life is great
Buzzmaster (10:32 PM)
We have a LenDale White sighting.
Buzzmaster (10:32 PM)
Then again, he's hard to miss.
Matt (Knoxville, TN)
I like how Mike Carey pauses. Automatic.......First Down!
Kerry Freakin Collins
Touchdown coming soon
Bob (Knoxville, TN)
when can vince young come in
Eddie (Indianapolis)
please this is a repeat of last week. these calls are coming right out of the ref's
Patrick (Louisville)
Why are they still playing? There is standing water all over the infield.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
I love it when I can hear the players and coaches yell outrageous, obscene words. Makes the emotions come out more. Good throw.
Pat (Chicago)
Once he learns how to play QB sounds like a good time
Jay (NY)
I just hard a bad word, my ears are now bleeding.
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Is holding still a call in the NFL?
Buzzmaster (10:35 PM)
They traded with the NBA. NFL gets traveling and the NBA gets holding.
Mike (Lexington, KY)
someone needs to contribute to the swear jar
Randy (Toronto)
They gotta get the guy with the fishing rod and Krispy Kreme on the hook running down the sidelines again so Lendale can chase him for some yards.
Buzzmaster (10:35 PM)
Big flag on the Colts there
Pat (Chicago)
Setting up mmmmm mmmmm my Bironas for a 50 yarder I like it
Bob (Knoxville, TN)
yes interfearance
Matt (IN)
That's great. Collins nails Bullitt right in the back and it ends up a penalty cuz he didn't turn around.
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Indiana gets screwed by the refs no way that never happens?
Buzzmaster (10:36 PM)
Larry Johnson, 4-point play.
Patrick (Baltimore)
My Bironas? WOW...
Jay (NY)
Can we start saying, Every Rhodes Has Its Thorn? No? Ok then.
Kerry Freakin Collins
Bo scaife td coming up
Matt (IN)
Buzz, next thing you know you'll be bringing up Coryatt..oh wait
Buzzmaster (10:37 PM)
Don't make me go Razor Shines.
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Is your goal to have us bring back all of our repressed memories buzz first Coryatt now this?
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Almost a nice catch throw.
Buzzmaster (10:37 PM)
First and goal inside the five on the nice third down conversion.
Matt (IN)
Hey the blitz came right up the middle, same as where the pass to the wide open receiver went
Mike (Lexington, KY)
This is a gutsy drive
Bob (Knoxville, TN)
please chris johnson tochdown
CG (Waco)
Jones almost broke those 3 tacklers right htere.
Jay (NY)
You didn't have enough fun in college to remember all of these things.
Smurph (CO)
Are the dolphins still doing the champaigne thing since the Pats did it last year?
Matt (Knoxville, TN)
We're getting shifty...passing to our wide recievers and all.
Buzzmaster (10:39 PM)
Wow, how did White not get in there?
Kerry Freakin Collins
QB Sneak!
Mike (Lexington, KY)
1 inch line
Bill, MA
Tampa just tied it
Buzzmaster (10:40 PM)
Third time's the charm, TD White.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
He got it!!!
Mike (Lexington, KY)
was that like an 8 minute drive?
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
go for 2
Jay (NY)
How have we not had an Arrested Development reference yet tonight?
CG (Waco)
Go for 2.
Ron Patient fin fan
White is a very large Human Being
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
Going for 2? Too early.
Buzzmaster (10:41 PM)
Easy 2-pt conversion and we're tied 14-14
Pat (Chicago)
You are killing me Fisher!
Mike (Lexington, KY)
great call great execution
Ron Patient fin fan
Nice Drive down the field for the Titans!
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
I never doubted the genius of going for 2.
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
Alright, I've got my cat food, my glue, and some beer. I'm about to go to bed before the cats start up...
Matt (IN)
I think my grandmother would've scored on that 2 point conversion
Ron Patient fin fan
Now this MNF game is by far the best in the last two weeks!
Buzzmaster (10:42 PM)
Big sample size you got there.
Buzzmaster (10:42 PM)
Rain delay in Philly, 2-2 in the 6th.
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Robert....that was hilarious....ASIP
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
we havent seen a punt.... all this half?
Kyle (FL)
BAM!!! Take THAT TITANS HATERS!!!!!
Nathan (MN)
how does white not get in one try, all he has to do is lean foward and the pile should move
Nate (Portland)
L.White is a putz... 7 carries for 6 yards. Anyone could be a goal line back why even have him around?
Pat (Chicago)
Obesity can be a good thing sometimes.
Ron Patient fin fan
Any doubts that the Rays win this game tonight?
Buzzmaster (10:43 PM)
Yes, because they aren't going to finish by the looks of it.
Zach Rastall (Marinette, WI)
Favretastic!
Jay (NY)
I'm terrified for Robert's cat right now. He's drunk, is gonna lure it in with food and somehow use glue. Run cat run!
Matt (Knoxville, TN)
How bout that America? That drive makes me feel all tingly inside. Great call on the 2 point conversion. Hooray for Amhad Hall.
Patrick (Louisville)
Both games tied at 2 scores apiece!
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
Hey, that's not true, Knoxville is the biggest city in Tennessee (On Saturdays).
Nick (NJ)
Tarp is on the field. Don't let Neyer off the hook Buzz. Make him stick around.
Patrick (Louisville)
Well the game is probably going to get rained out and resumed tomorrow...so how much you want to bet?
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Tennessee is still below Kentucky.
Jay (NY)
Even mother nature hates Philadelphia
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Well everyone is now officially not watching baseball.
Buzzmaster (10:46 PM)
What the heck?
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Charlie Johnson first career catch
Buzzmaster (10:47 PM)
They should throw it to Ugoh now.
Pat (Chicago)
Wait so I am not in Neyer's chat?
Ryan
Rays take MLB off the hook by tying it. No one wants the series to end in a called game.
Zach Rastall (Marinette, WI)
Buzz, you're fired.
Buzzmaster (10:48 PM)
They've already put the tarp on me.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Not good, Reggie Wayne hurt
Matt (IN)
Uh oh..that's Reggie
Kyle (FL)
Espn keeps editing my comments....too bad. Like communism all over.
Buzzmaster (10:48 PM)
You, sir, obviously have a firm grasp of political philosophy.
Mike (Lexington, KY)
if it gets rain delayed at least we have another day of baseball locked in
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
speaking of catches, Flacco caught a 40 yard pass...
Pat ((philly))
theres no let up on the rain in philly and its suppose to be worse tomorrow
Nathan (Indianapolis, IN)
Announcer says this is Charlie Johnson's first NFL catch? Did he forget the AFC championship game?
G.J. (Waukee)
its pretty hard when the o-line can't get a push
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
In Communist Russia you don't edit comments, comments EDIT YOU!
Patrick (Louisville)
I like how the NFL uses Chad Johnsons dancing for the commercials. They would fine him for that now.
Mike (Lexington, KY)
bad offsides
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
lol, good call Patrick.
Ron Patient fin fan
Throw it to Gonzo please need points
Buzzmaster (10:50 PM)
There you go, shy of the first down though.
CG (Waco)
Just short. Punt time.
Ross (Muncie,IN)
You have to go for this and you have to get it.
Matt (IN)
To heck with it. Go for it here
Buzzmaster (10:51 PM)
Rhodes blown up on fourth down.
Bob (Knoxville, TN)
no!
Greg
dangit
Pat (Chicago)
I tell you what that Titans D is not very good
Patrick (Louisville)
Oops
Matt (IN)
Ouch..on second thought, maybe not!
Matt (Knoxville, TN)
What is Dungy thinking?!
Punt-O-Meter (LP Field)
We got....huh?
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
Yup. Best D in the NFL.
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Do NFL coaches not watch film YOU CAN'T RUN RIGHT UP THE MIDDLE ON FOURTH DOWN
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
The Colts just munsoned themselves.
Rob Neyer ("The other chat")
Come chat with me, Im cooler then buzz.
Buzzmaster (10:52 PM)
That's actually true. Rob is cooler than Buzz.
CG (Waco)
Wow I guess they said screw it and went for it. Props goes to that defense.
Buzzmaster (10:52 PM)
Fumble on the nice pass play but the Titans keep it.
Pat (Chicago)
Especially when Haynesworth is lined up across from center
Matt (IN)
Wait, here I am getting excited about this and it's only the end of the 3rd quarter.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Alge Crumpler, you lucky!!!!
Mike (Lexington, KY)
oooohh the Titans are fortunate on that fumble
CG (Waco)
Momentum all over the Titans side now. Fumbles going out of bounds and everything.
Kevin (Memphis)
Need help. At work. Is Chris Johnson out of the game?
Buzzmaster (10:54 PM)
Nope, he's in.
Matt (IN)
Jeff Fisher has some porn 'stache potential. Buzz I think Dr Perlut should be involved
Jay (NY)
Oh come on! I was winning before that! Why do you go for it
Kyle (FL)
Please tell me why C. Johnson didnt just follow that block behind Maewae???? Rookie move?
Bucky (Canada)
(yawn)Buzz, I know you have a tv by you and your more focused on the world series and now youve just decided to watch the football game now that there in a delay.
Buzzmaster (10:55 PM)
How was the yawn relevant to that?
Ron Live from Florida
The Titans are proving why they are undefeated
Paul NYC
Jeez, started the day up 57 points and thanks to Manning and Clark it has been cut to 24. Run the ball Ttitans!! Kill that clock!
Mike (Lexington, KY)
End of 3 and we have a battle...should be a good finish and possibly OT
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Kyle he runs a 2.24 he doesn't need to follow blocks.
Tony Dungy (3rd quarter break)
Jay in NY, it's because I don't believe in fantasy football. Please buy my book.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
yawning is a distinctly canadian act, like saying ey, and aboot.
Jay (NY)
I swear if I lose because Drew Brees ran backwards 26 yards for an idiotic safety that didn't even run the clock out I'm killing Sean Payton.
Ron Live from Florida
Bucky, the Yawn is from the World Series, not this MNF Been a very good game!
Mike (Lexington, KY)
someone wake Manning up
Mike Atlanta, Ga
Come on Titans! I despise the colts!
Buzzmaster (10:57 PM)
That looked like six, just overthrown by Collins.
CG (Waco)
Alge almost had it. He was wide open.
Ron Live from Florida
Crumpler caves
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
C'mon Crumps, run harder!
Max (WI)
Clearly, the Titans will win in a blowout.
Matt (IN)
Another drop. Wow.
Ron Live from Florida
Nice catch Gage
Ephraim R. (Thomasville, GA)
nice crumpler slow mo, so graceful, like a flying tuna.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Bironas, can he do it?
Pat (Chicago)
Alright Bironas dont hook another one or I will so waive you
Buzzmaster (10:58 PM)
Good from 48 yards, 17-14 Titans.
CG (Waco)
Bironias owners are happy. I'm one.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
It's good!
Steve (Moline, IL)
Titans will take control in the 4th, the colts should consider themselves lucky for keeping it close.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Steve, plenty of game left.
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Elizabeth Banks....meeeooowww
Tracey (Los Angeles)
Crumpler has to catch that! And then Gage drops an even easier ball that would have given the Titans a first down. So instead of having the ball right at the goal line (if Crumpler makes the catch), or at least keeping the drive going (if Gage catches it), Tennessee has to settle for a FG. That is TOTALLY on the receivers, not the QB.
Pat (Philly)
the world series might not resume till wednesday cause of tonights nd tomorrows conditions
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
This is crazy, this crazy, this is crazy!
Sean (Indy)
When is Dungy going to have the guts to tell Peyton to get off of the field on 4th and short? Who is the coach?
Will (Austin)
This is what you get when you completely ignore getting real WR talent on your football team.Playing a bunch of guys not drafted above the 4th round is not a recipe for offensive success in the passing game.
Bill(Chicago)
Can Gage catch?
Ron Land of Confusion
More dropped balls then punts
Kyle (FL)
Problem is not the t-shirts....problem is Peyton Manning lost his step this season.
Ryan Howard (Philly)
Its time for a big philly steak and cheese from subway since im in the mmmmmm hall of fame.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Joe Flacco would have caught that.
Buzzmaster (11:01 PM)
There we go.
Patrick (Louisville)
Yeah, just look at Detroit with all their star recievers. Recipe for success.
Dave (Centreville, MD)
Whats the deal with Wayne's injury? I just sat back down
Buzzmaster (11:01 PM)
He's out there
Jay (NY)
All Rhodes Lead to Rome or the Endzone...cmon!
Steve (Moline, IL)
Colts just dont have the healthy lineup in which Titans do, watch for Titans to pull away.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Dominic Rhodes is the best at running into the back of his o-line...
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
Peyton's still a great. Just a touch rusty. He'll be back soon. Just not tonight.
Matt (IN)
Colts are totally playing into TN's hands
Jake (Duluth MN)
So can we all say that tennesee is the worst 6-0 soon to be 7-0 in the history of the NFL?
Ron southflorida
67 for the colts is very confused
Mike (Lexington, KY)
i dont see either team pulling away...this is a defensive game
Kurt (MI)
need a hat trick from clark
Buzzmaster (11:04 PM)
Colts are sticking with the run to be sure.
Kyle (FL)
Hey don't get me wrong...Manning is awesome! I just like seeing him struggle against the Titans.
Matt (Knoxville, TN)
If Peyton gets time in the pocket, he'll pick us apart.
Jake (Duluth MN)
Peytons looking more washed up as each week progresses. I say the better manning is Eli.
Buzzmaster (11:05 PM)
I'll take Cooper.
Ross (Muncie,IN)
No because they're going to be 6-1
Buzzmaster (11:05 PM)
Incomplete and it's fourth and short again.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
Nice D, Finnegan. Way to represent the Irish.
CG (Waco)
Peyton finally has a 3rd and short.
Buzzmaster (11:06 PM)
And another fourth down failure.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
lol.... Indy Munsoned themselves again!
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Harper comes up big time
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Inside quick slant is our money play yet we haven't ran it yet.
CG (Waco)
Titans D steps up again.
Matt (IN)
All Colts mistakes here
Buzzmaster (11:07 PM)
Steady dose of Tennessee's run game coming?
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
Worst 7-0 ever? Hardly. Defense wins games. Tennessee clearly has that.
Jake (Duluth MN)
Instead of going to neyer ill ask you buzz. Do you know if there going to get the W.S game in?
Buzzmaster (11:08 PM)
Well, Bud just tried to call me, but I couldn't take the call because I'm chatting with you guys.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
tony dungy, i question your coachhood... what are you thinking?
Patrick (Louisville)
Political adds. Yeah! * I approved this mesage.
Johnathan (Nashville)
Is this really going to turn into "Colt's mistakes" rather than the Titans just playing well?
Pat (Chicago)
Kerry Collins might be on the right end of a super bowl team with a great defense and a lousy QB this year.
Jay (NY)
I wish you could see the commercials I get, the local Queens commercials are unintentionally hilarious.
Patrick (Louisville)
Neyer is talking about MASH right now. So he's still a level above this chat.
Buzzmaster (11:09 PM)
Hey, we debated wings earlier. That counts for something.
Jay (NY)
They could have had Rhodes out in the flat for 2 yards easily on one of those 2 plays.
Rob: (mass)
why is dungy going for it all the time? In a low scoring game, feild position is key, and adam vinatieri is a great clutch kicker
Ross (Muncie,IN)
One big play is that so much to ask? Just one play.
John (Minneapolis, MN)
Is it just me or does it seem like the Indy LB's are constantly chasing down the TE's and WR's across the middle with their backs to the play?
Mike (Lexington, KY)
good call on the steady of run plays Buzz....j/k
Patrick (Louisville)
Yes it does. I had no idea.
Ryan
Oddly enough I prefer my MASH with blue cheese as well.
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Colts they're going to throw short passes. Start jumping routes.
Pat (Chicago)
Uh oh we are dangerously close to Bironas territory
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
Nashville is really coming out throwing. Indy's D needs to adjust.
Ron lauderdalefl
The colts secondary is soft
Charisma (WI)
What happened to Tony Dungy's defense?
Robert (Huntsville, Al)
Ok, I just ate my leftover wings. Btw, buy Franks Hot Sauce. If you didn't listen to me two years ago about it, do it now. The best wings you eat use Franks...
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
got to give the colts come credit, really doing a good job on the run
ECU STUDENT
CJ is a freak. I wish wel still had that dude on our team... bound to come up with a big play soon!
Buzzmaster (11:11 PM)
Or a drop ...
Matt (IN)
I will say that the one thing that has killed me with the Dungy defense in Indy is the 5-8 yard cushion they give receivers in almost every set.
Ron lauderdalefl
He heard the footsteps
Pat (Chicago)
run a draw play to set up the 50 yarder for the win!
Jake (Duluth MN)
Fisher is a great coach he should never get fired. Hes like Joe Pa except 125 years younger.
Patrick (Louisville)
Wait...wings the food, or Wings, the hilarious television comedy?
Buzzmaster (11:12 PM)
How can you go wrong with Lowell?
Peter (Burke, VA)
Is Tony Dungy TMQ's favorite head coach? And when did Collins learn how to throw
Kurt (MI)
run the ball.. run run run
Ron lauderdalefl
WIDE OPEN WIDE OPEN AGAIN!
Matt (IN)
Whoever 87 is, he was wide freakin open
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Collins is coming up big....
Mike (Lexington, KY)
what a catch by Crumpler
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
wow, what a catch!
CG (Waco)
Receviers are open all over the place. Whatever the Colts are doing on defense they need to change it quick.
Pat (Chicago)
Um stop it Kerry
Buzzmaster (11:13 PM)
Titans chewing up yards and minutes.
Ross (Muncie,IN)
This sucks I keep expecting Dwight Freeney to make a play then he gets close and his guy holds him. Call it one time please.
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
Jake, don't call Fisher old. He's at least 150 years younger than Joe Pa.
Mike (Lexington, KY)
The Titans game plan is confusing the Colts...who thought they pass this much
Matt (IN)
If Denny Green was the Colts coach, the post game press conference would end up on a Coors commercial
Charisma (WI)
Has anyone tried making Collins beat them underneath? He used to be good to give the ball up 1-3 times a week.
Matt (Knoxville, TN)
I can't believe what i'm seeing...we shouldn't get to far away from our bread and butter, but it's a nice changew of pace.
CG (Waco)
Wasting timeouts is a recipe for losing.
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
Singletary is going to be the next Coors press conference guy. Guaranteed.
Ted (Green Bay)
Ugh!! Let Johnson rush it!
James
Colts have to get more pressure on Collins
Luks (ccs DC)
If the Titans kick a FG here, the Colts win the game.
Patrick (Louisville)
Well, baseball is done till tomorrow. They play the last 3 1/2 then.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
stuart scott's gloves are awesome
Buzzmaster (11:17 PM)
From the obvious file, wow Johnson is fast.
Mike (Lexington, KY)
nice call on the shovel pass
Nick (NJ)
Game is officially postponed. Myabe Bud will move the rest of Game 5 to a domed stadium so that there will be no further weather issues. I believe they have one of those somewhere in Florida.
Matt (IN)
Don't look now but Freeney just got held again. And it was the commercial break.
CG (Waco)
Singletary for coach of the week. What he did was great.
Matt (IN)
Way to tackle forward guys
Buzzmaster (11:17 PM)
White stopped short of the end zone, but it's first and goal.
Kurt (MI)
johsnon has to run it. not white
Pat (Chicago)
Let Bironas rush it!
Ron lauderdalefl
Collins should run it in himself, to show that he can
Ron
Colts need a turnover, make the fat man fumble
CG (Waco)
LeDale White time and if he doesn't make it, do it again.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
fall forward fast........
Buzzmaster (11:18 PM)
Yeah, that didn't look like he caught it.
Ron
HE dropped it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jay (NY)
Collins should run backwards 99 yards for a safety to preseve the lead.
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Same play almost worked twice.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
that cannon is having a bad day
Mike (Lexington, KY)
good call obviously
Patrick (Louisville)
Why throw and stop the clock? Play to win, not look pretty.
Buzzmaster (11:19 PM)
TD White, great stretch at the end.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
TD FAT GUY!
Peter (Burke, VA)
that was a clutch arm reach
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Lendale the battering ram with the TD
Kurt (MI)
this is ridiculous. that the rookie does all the work and fat guy get the TD
Buzzmaster (11:20 PM)
Talk to Warrick Dunn about it.
Ted (Green Bay)
Lendale again? Why bother even having Johnson on the field?
Jay (NY)
Wait, we play to win the games? We're almost up to the trifecta. Anyone wanna talk about playoffs?
Patrick (Louisville)
Lendale White...the next Fridge?
chris johnson (tenn)
chunky just stole another one from me
Matt (IN)
Wow, Colts have looked like *rhymes with pit* this year.
Steve (Syracuse, NY)
Lendale is gonna be the fattest, slowest pro bowl HB ever.,
Jay (NY)
It's just like Buzz's relationship, LadyBuzz does all the work and he gets the credit.
Tracey (L.A.)
If his receivers could hold onto the ball, Collins would have 2 TD passes tonight. But at least they got the TD on the ground. Still, it stinks for Collins, since people will look at his numbers and say he did nothing when he's having a very nice game.
Ephraim R. (Thomasville, GA)
lendale white, the next rodney hampton. which is good but not great.
Lendale (TN)
YAHH Touchdown me. Now I get another cookie coach promised me.
Mathew (MN)
umm how about a holding call on that first down play, maybe the most obvious blown call I have ever seen
Matt (Knoxville, TN)
Kurt, it doesn't matter when you're undefeated. Lendale White looks like 250 lbs. in a 9 lbs. bag.
Mike (Lexington, KY)
Bettis might have something to say about that Steve
Ledale "Stretch" White. (sideline)
Why are you guys hating on me? I'm a fullback I run when the other team brings their big guys out. What's the problem?
G.J. (Waukee)
Like C.J. woulda have been able to punch it in anyways
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Well at least we have the Pacers to look forward to.*Hangs head in shame
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
fb fake hb toss always works in madden
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
Ok, I've got the Titan's D as my last player the score is 60-61 and I'm down. Do I have a chance here?
CG (Waco)
Hey um Lendale might want to spell your name right first man.
Buzzmaster (11:25 PM)
Picked off, and with one timeout left and the Titans inside the 20, that'll just about wrap this one up.
Jake (Duluth MN)
Game OVER...Colts season OVER
CG (Waco)
Game. Set. Match.
Pat (Chicago)
Yesssssssssssss set up a Bironas game winner for me!
Tracey (L.A.)
INTERCEPTION Chris Hope!
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Dallas Clark why must you have one drop every single game?
Matt (IN)
That's the game and season. Nice catch Dallas.
Patrick (Louisville)
Wow. Looks like Clark short armed it.
Buzzmaster (11:26 PM)
Johnson finally figures out how to get in the endzone himself, TD Titans.
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
lol chris johnson garbage pts, some fantasy owners are happy
C.J (Tennesee)
Yes!!! Haha Fattie what now?
Mike (Lexington, KY)
the torch has been passed to the Titans...big TD there
Punt-O-Meter (LP Field)
Well this game is over. Gotta go now. Happy punting!!!
Pat (Chicago)
I hate Chris Johnson
Robert (North Carolina)
Chubs didn't get that one
Peter (Burke, VA)
could ANYONE have predicted this complete and utter domination by the titans?
Nick (NJ)
Does any of this really matter? Whoever makes the Super Bowl from the AFC is just going to lose to the Giants.
Matt (IN)
I wonder how many people lost fantasy matchups because of that Johnson TD, which only occurred because the Colts seemingly weren't paying attention
Patrick (Louisville)
What was the final tally Punt O Rama?
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Well at least Ball State is 8-0.
Matt (Knoxville, TN)
How bout it! Titans put up 31 and hold the Colts to 14 on Monday Night!
Gatorade Endorsers (...)
Yes Peyton Manning? Hello we just wanted to let you know that we will not be picking you up for the new commercials for the gatorade called "Eli"
Jay (NY)
Domination? It was tied after 3. Now that is a Buzz chat member, completely forgetting about the first 3 quarters and only counting the most recent one.
Mike (Lexington, KY)
The Titans just beat teams up...they are tough
CG (Waco)
The power has shifted. The Pats, COlts, and Chargers might not make the playoffs this year. Crazy year so far.
Nick (Austin, TX)
Let Vince take snaps on their next possession now?
Mike (VA)
On Johnson's TD, his knee went down at the 2 before the ball crossed the endzone line. Shouldn't he be down?
Seth New Castle Indiana
Pathetic. Nfl is as crooked as the nba. they make happen whatever is the best story. more than questionable calls fueled the titans comeback. thats twice the colts have suffered from poor officiating made up calls and missed fumble rulings. these refs must face a punishment!
Buzzmaster (11:30 PM)
Yes, because the NFL would much rather have Kerry Collins in the spotlight than Peyton Manning. Brilliant.
Nick (NJ)
Game isn't over yet. Watch out for the Curse of Sage - Indy could still come back.
Mike (Lexington, KY)
LOL...yeah every week it is the refs fault
Matt (Knoxville, TN)
If the Titans weren't winning, Phil Fulmer wouldn't have a job.
blguillen (los angeles)
Earlier I had asked if I could get 29 points tonight from Dallas Clark, Titans D and LenDale White.I did! And i'm up by 10 points! YAY :)Sorry, I'm just excited!
Matt (IN)
Woah there Seth. There were questionable calls in the Packers game and maybe even a few tonight but that has nothing to do with the outcome
Mike (VA)
Johnson was down before scoring. Clark didn't short-arm it. It just went through his hands.
Jay (NY)
I'm considering Seth New Castle Indiana a 4 name poster and he lived up to the billing.
CG (Waco)
And we were doing so good with almost no ref suck posts.
Dan Boston, MA
The indy era is over.
Buzzmaster (11:32 PM)
Deflecting a little there, Boston?
Brendan (Louisville, KY)
so is the pats, a new exciting AFC!!
Eli M. (NY)
Go ahead Tenn. Go undefeated if you can. I've been seen the end of that that road and we'll see how far it gets you come February.
Pat (Chicago)
haha at conspiracy theorists against the colts and for a team in Tennesee... Pass me a tin foil hat
Jonathan (Knoxville, TN)
Matt, come on Phil Fulmer is a great coach. We can't get rid of him. We're still Tennessee's team, not the Titans. Though I'm still a fan of both.
CG (Waco)
So who's better now the AFC or the NFC? It used to be the AFC by a mile but now...
Matt (Canada)
I'm a Colts fanatic and all I can say is... wow... the Colts suck. Don't deserve to make the playoffs.
Dave (LV)
Living in Chicago Pat, you probably already have 4 or 5
Ross (Muncie,IN)
I complained about holding but that was just because I wanted to see a big play I wasn't about to blame the game on the refs.
Buzzmaster (11:36 PM)
Manning gets in for the fantasy-owner special.
Patrick (Louisville)
The line was 4 in vegas. Can Indy do it?
Nathan (MN)
anyone see the MN high school team that scored 2 td's in 5 seconds? and won in OT
Phil Fullmer (Knoxville)
Cmon now, how can you people hate me now? I inspire Lendale White with my dominating buffet line technique
derrick (memphis,TN)
Now!! Let's see how much coverage we get now from all u people who said that there are no really good teams in the NFL this year !!!
Mike (Lexington, KY)
I think the AFC and NFC is pretty equal when looking from top to bottom....maybe more top heavy in the NFC but not by much
Matt (IN)
Alright Buzz, Colts suck and I'll see you in the morning.
Ross (Muncie,IN)
Well crap not ready to give up yet, but the next few weeks will be interesting.
CG (Waco)
Yeah it's real close but I think I have to go NFC by a little.
Buzzmaster (11:39 PM)
OK, that'll do it for tonight. See you all next week for Steelers-Redskins!
