Golic's here! We're about to get started...
Tim (DC)
Love the show Golic. I'm a diehard Bills fan. Do we have a chance of making the playoffs? If so, do you see the Bills making some noise in the post season?
Mike Golic (10:31 AM)
I have a lot of hope for the Bills, now and in the future because they are playing the type of game you need to play today. trent Edwards does not turn the ball over so he can always give your offense a chance the defense is built strong right up the middle.
Domer Dave (Springfield, MA)
Hey Mike, love the show. I was wondering what bowl do you think Notre Dame will make this year? I am hoping we can get to the Gator Bowl (sadly I have chalked up USC in the loss column but I'm optimistic about the rest of the schedule) and finally win our first bowl since the mid-90's. Go IRISH!
Mike Golic (10:32 AM)
Depending on how the rest of the season goes. I think one of three bowls. The most optimistic is the Cotton Bowl, next the Gator Bowl, or possibly the Sun Bowl. Certainly all depends on the number of wins and losses as the season goes.
Joe (CT)
What is your favorite halloween candy to eat?
Mike Golic (10:33 AM)
I am a Hershey Bar guy - also I don't deal in the fun size candies. I think you have to go full size candy bar.
Jason (NY)
Hey Mike, listen to the show every morning love the show, I'm a Tampa Bay Bucs fan, think they will bounce back from there tough loss to dallas? And do you think they can win the NFC South?
Mike Golic (10:35 AM)
The reason Tampa Bay doesn;t get a lot of love is that they dont really have any category leaders in the NFL - reason for that they've used two running backs in graham and Dunn - they've used two quarterbacks in Griese and Garcia - and you have over a handful of recievers that have 10 catches so theyre spreading the wealth offensively - they certainly have the talent to be right in the mix at the end of the year.
Efrain (Fajardo,PR)
Hi Mike love your show, will the Cowboys make the playoffs and will the Cowboys beat the Giants this sunday Go Cowboys :)
Mike Golic (10:38 AM)
The Cowboys certaintly can make the playoffs. This Sunday the Giants will be very difficult. They will be loading up against Marion Barber who had a very good game in the playoffs against them last year. If they can force Brad to pass, Dallas in trouble because the Giants are relentless getting to the QB.
Richard (Monroe, LA)
What's up Mike? Die hard Saints fan here. Drew Brees is playing the best quarterback in the league. With that said you think he can rally the troops and with the NFC South?
Mike Golic (10:39 AM)
I agree that Brees is playing the best QB in the NFL right now but I just can't figure this team out. Luckily they are in a division of other hot and cold teams. On paper they have the most talent in the division but certainly have trouble translating that onto the field.
Rob (IN)
Hey Mike, big fan of the show and a frustrated Colts fan. Even if they can get healthy, is this team going to be good enough to grab a wildcard spot? There just seems to be something missing this year.
Mike Golic (10:40 AM)
They certainly do seem off this year. They are starting to get healthy with Addai and Sanders healthy and practicing. That could make a big difference. The O-line seems to be getting healthy as well. There are five 3-4 teams, including the Colts that are just 1 game out of the playoffs. If they can put it together they can certainly get a wild card spot.
Jason (NY)
Pizza and wings? or Speghetti and meatballs?
Mike Golic (10:41 AM)
Certainly the healthier choice is Spaghetti and Meatballs but I've yet to meet a pizza or a wing I didn't like.
Jeremy (UT)
Love the show mike. As a big Vikings fan is there any hope for them to get to the playoffs? Or did Greeny kill that chance?
Mike Golic (10:43 AM)
If Greeny picks ya - he does crush you. They should be better than they are right now but in my opinion they did not address the QB problem in the offseason and that could be the mistake that costs them the postseason.
Joe (ME)
Hows it going Mr. Golic. A week or two ago, SVP and Tirico were debating which was better, Triscuits or Wheat Thins. What do you think?
Mike Golic (10:43 AM)
Wheat Thins by a long shot. Triscuits are a little dry to me.
Todd (Wi.)
Hey Mr. Golic, think Favre is just going to play this year, and done? He has to be thinking what have I done!!? Love him, but....I think it's time to hang em up!
Mike Golic (10:45 AM)
Hasn't that been the big question the last few years. It would be sad if he came back yet again and did a one and done with another team. I have a feeling he'll try and play another year to make the decision to come back seem more plausible.
STEVE (cincinnati)
how's mike jr doing at nd? any game action yet? love the show.
Mike Golic (10:47 AM)
Mike is enjoying his experience so far at Notre Dame. He won't play this year - just practicing - so he can get an extra year of eligibility. But he is definitely enjoying the college experience and looking forward to getting on the field.
Andreas (Champaign, IL)
Hey, Golic. Love the show. Is there any hope at all left for the Rams? It may sound crazy but they're only 2 games back of Arizona and still play them twice this season. Plus, the rest of their schedule is ridiculously easy. I don't think there's a good chance, but at least some chance?
Mike Golic (10:49 AM)
I guess because that division is awful you always have a chance. It does seem as though Haslett has changed the matality of that team. They are more talented than they are showing. Hopefully Jim can bring that out of them for the rest of the year.
Jesse (Cleveland)
Hey Mike. I hear your opening a resturant in Cleveland, hows that going?
Mike Golic (10:50 AM)
Actually that is my brother Bob and it has been open for a couple of months. It's Bob Golic's Sports Bar. Go check it out!
jen parrish (tigard oregon)
What is your favorite sport bvesides football
Mike Golic (10:51 AM)
Quite honestly I would have to say swimming and wrestling. Swimming was actually the first competitive sport I ever did. Now my daughter Sydney is an excellent swimmer and I enjoy watching her very much. I also wrestled through college and loved that sport every bit as much as football.
Steve (NY)
Hi Mike - I'm a big Bears fan. If they do make the playoffs, do you think they'll be able to beat the Giants, Panthers or Cardinals?
Mike Golic (10:52 AM)
Bears have an excellent defense that certainly has faltered some this year but when their D plays well - they always have chance to win. Forte has been a pleasant surprise and Orton has done a great job. I don't think they are at the level of the Giants but just get to the postseason and you never know.
Tom H. (Newtown,CT.)
Hey Golic, How do you celebrate the World series win? Do you buy a cheese steak,Soft pretzel,Or wait till morning to have some scrapple with your eggs for breakfest?
Mike Golic (10:54 AM)
All of the above.
Matt (NY)
Hey Mike, Die hard steelers fan, do you think they will be able to voercome all these injury's and remain an elite team?
Mike Golic (10:55 AM)
I do think they can but they are fighting it right now. They need to get a running game back and the O-line and whole offense needs to work on their protection more. They are getting beat 1on1 and by scheme but they definitely have the talent to be an elite team.
paul (bristol, ct)
Do you like UFC?
Mike Golic (10:56 AM)
I like it very much. I hope it doesn't end up going down the road boxing went down making it so convuluted you can't follow it. I love the idea and having it regulated a bit helps.
Dave (Mi)
Mike, I hear the Lions worked out Culpepper. What do you think?
Mike Golic (10:57 AM)
It depends on what they are looking for. The have young QBs that they can develop or they can get an old QB now and try to get immediate success. If you think Culpepper can be there for a few years, so be it. If not, I would go with one of the young guys.
Chris (Toronot)
Hey GOlic, huge fan of the show. You guys don't talk much hockey, what gives, not a fan?
Mike Golic (10:58 AM)
I love hockey. When I lived in Arizona, I went to a ton of Coyote games. Unfortunately it lost its popularity so when we talk about it we lose a lot of listeners. It's a shame, I hope it makes a comeback.
neil (Chicopee, ma.)
Did you notice that half gallons of ice cream are not a half gallon anymore... Do you think that should be a crime?
Mike Golic (10:59 AM)
Yes it should be a crime. I equate it to when I buy a bag of chips and I open it and it's only half full. What's the deal with that?
Mike Golic (11:00 AM)
Two more questions then I got to run!
Ann (Indiana)
Mike, who has your favorite guest on the show been?
Mike Golic (11:01 AM)
I would have to say Bill Cosby. We had him on twice for about an hour each time and he talked about everything. It was great.
Justin (Portage IN)
Mike - Hook a brother up, i work midnights and i asked you one id love answered! Do you think jerry jones is planning to replace wade phillips?
Mike Golic (11:03 AM)
If things aren't going Jerry Jones way he alwasy has an itchy trigger finger and by basically having Jason Garrett next in line it may make Jerry make a quicker decision than he should. Winning will decide it all as it does in all sports.
Mike Golic (11:04 AM)
Thanks for all the questions. I really appreciate it. I'll start to do this more often. Thanks for listening and watching the show. Talk to you all soon!
